The Telangana government announced today that the road on which the United States Consulate General is located in Hyderabad will be officially renamed ‘Donald Trump Avenue’ to honour president Donald Trump. The high-profile stretch of the road located in the Gachibowli area runs directly alongside the US Consulate General building.
This was announced by the CMO on Sunday along with several other proposals to name roads. The state government will write to the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the US Embassy to inform them of the plans.
Apart from the ‘Donald Trump Avenue’, The upcoming greenfield radial road connecting the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Raviryal with the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) will be named after late Ratan Tata. The interchange at Raviryal has already been named the ‘Tata Interchange’.
Similarly, a prominent stretch of the road in the Financial District will be named ‘Google Street’. Google’s upcoming largest campus outside US is located on this road. Similarly, roads along the Microsoft and Wipro campuses in the city will be named Microsoft Road and Wipro Junction.
“We have decided to name several landmarks after people like Ratan Tata and US President Donald Trump,” a statement issue by the Chief Minister’s Office said.
