The Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) has announced that it will join the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party protests at Jantar Mantar. The so-called farmer group stated that its members will march to Delhi on July 27 and stay there till their demands are met.
The organisation, which has a history of participating in the anti-CAA protests in 2020, has stated that hundreds of its activists will launch village-level campaigns to collect food and other supplies to carry them to the protest site in Delhi in tractor trollies.
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das welcomed the news, saying, “Ab Ayega Aur Maza (now it will be more fun)”.

The CJP protests at Jantar Mantar had intensified recently on July 20, Monday, when thousands of protestors tried marching to the Parliament, where the Monsoon Session was starting. Many violent protestors broke barricades, clashed with police, and some incidents of stone pelting were also reported.
The Delhi Police have informed today that 130 Police personnel have been injured. 15 FIRs have been registered. About 65 students were injured in the protest. The police statement also added that 3000 police personnel are deployed around Jantar Mantar and currently around 10,000 students are gathered there.
False claims of ‘tanks coming to bomb students’
It is notable here that Saurav Das is also using unverified claims of ‘tanks being brought’. There are no reports of tanks being brought to “bomb students”, and the reason behind this claim may as well be to incite the protestors into further violence. A portal named Tatva India had shared an unrelated image of a military vehicle and had linked it to CJP protests. They later deleted the post, but it is evident that elements like Saurav Das are deliberately using fearmongering and misinformation tactics to spread panic and trigger violence.

Khalistani terrorist outfit SFJ had announced $1 million funding for CJP
It is notable here that the Khalistani terrorist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) had announced Rs 1 million funding for the CJP recently. Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a wanted terrorist and leader of the US-based Sikhs for Justice, issued a social media post on 22nd July, announcing the funding of $1 million for CJP to “oust Modi’s BJP out of power”. “Fall of Modi is inevitable. Disintegration of India is the only solution”, the SFJ poster had said.
On view of the Bharatiya Kisan Union joining the CJP protest in Delhi, it indicates a redux of the 2020-21 farmers’ protests, where the SFJ consistently tried to trigger unrest and had also announced money rewards to the tune of $250,000 to criminals for removing the Tricolour from Red Fort and placing the Khalistani flag on Republic Day.
In August 2021, Pannun had also offered a million dollars to anyone who stopped PM Modi from unfurling the National Flag at the Red Fort.
Widespread violence was carried out by pro-Khalistani groups under the garb of farmers’ protests, resulting in deaths and rampant damage to public property. The so-called farmer unions had also blocked crucial highways for months.
