Hindustan Times Editor Bobby Ghosh, who looked over the biased ‘Hate Tracker‘ has decided to move on after a stint of 14 months with the newspaper. An internal communication announcement made by Shobhana Bhartia, Chairperson and Editorial Director, HT Media Ltd., said Ghosh would be returning to New York for personal reasons. Ghosh, however, would stay on for some time to help smooth transition and complete the projects he had launched.
He had been with Hindustan Times for just 14 months during which time as many as four editions and three bureaus, including the business bureau in Delhi and Mumbai were shut down, laying off an unknown number of journalists. Last year in December, close to 15 editorial employees from both Mint and Hindustan Times were asked to put in their papers.
In January this year, as many as eight journalists and four designers were asked to resign from Hindustan Times’ Mumbai bureau on one day. It is estimated that as many as 40 people lost their jobs in HT Media in last few months.
Earlier in August, Ghosh had tweeted that an Indian diplomat had compared Ivanka Trump, daughter of the President of United States Donald Trump, to “half-wit Saudi princes”.

Many saw this unsubstantiated claim as an attempt to strain the India-US relations.
