US-India 2+2 dialogue: Washington agrees help India track down Dawood Ibrahim, Hafiz Saeed

In a major diplomatic breakthrough, the United States has agreed to help India in tracking down Dawood Ibrahim, the underworld don who is prime accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts and 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind JuD chief Hafiz Saeed. The two countries on Thursday also signed the crucial ‘Communications, Compatibility, Security Agreement (COMCASA)’ agreement and discussed key issues, including cross-border terrorism, India’s NSG bid and the contentious H1B visa issue.

The crucial meeting was held on Thursday between External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, US Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo and Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis and the two sides urged Pakistan to ensure that its territory is not used to launch terrorist attacks on other countries. They also urged Pakistan to bring to justice the perpetrators of the Mumbai, Pathankot, Uri and other cross-border terrorist attacks. The US also agreed to exert pressure on Pakistan to rein in various terror outfits on its soil and dismantle their networks. Earlier this week, the Pentagon had sought the US Congress to reprogram $300 million of its Coalition Support Fund (CSF) for Pakistan because of Pakistan’s failure to act decisively in support of the US South Asia Strategy.

The US also shared concerns that despite evidence of his role in terror activities, Pakistan continues to provide shelter to JuD chief Hafiz Saeed. Saeed was declared as a foreign terrorist organisation by the US in June 2014 and carries a reward of USD 10 million on his head.

A joint statement issued after the meeting said, “The ministers announced their intent to increase information-sharing efforts on known or suspected terrorists and to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2396 on returning foreign terrorist fighters.”

Delhi police registers NCIR against set of persons for harassing and intimidating Republic TV reporter

The Delhi Police had yesterday registered a non-cognisable information report (NCIR) against a set of persons for intimidating and harassing republic TV reporter and anchor Shivani Gupta. The NCIR with number 0014/2018 was registered at the Parliament Street police station.

It is notable here that Republic TV had reported the incident which occurred on 9th January 2018 at a Jignesh Mevani rally where Republic TV reporter Shivani Gupta was reporting live. Some miscreants were caught on camera harassing and intimidating her. Gupta has written in her complaint that the mob harassing her was being egged on by those present on the dais, including JNU activist Shehla Rashid.

Shivani Gupta’s police complaint

Gupta has claimed the entire incident is recorded on camera and has also provided additional information to the police, which includes the identity of at least one man in the mob who was intimidating her. The man is identified as an advocate named Apurv Singh of Noida. Singh is seen in the video allegedly obstructing Gupta from carrying out her professional duties and defending her harassers. In the incident, the mob was so threatening that the police had to intervene and escort Gupta to safety, which has also been recorded on camera.

The investigation has been handed over to Sub-inspector Bakshish Singh of the Parliament Street police station. When approached for a comment, Republic TV has maintained that the police complaint has been filed to preserve the dignity of their reporter and to make sure that the guilty are brought to justice. They also added that harassment and intimidation of a woman journalist is a serious offence and they are hopeful that the police would carry out a truthful investigation into the issue. They added further that they are hopeful the investigation into the case will act as a deterrent against such incidents of hooliganism occurring in the future by a motivated mob.

it is notable here that the News Broadcasting Standards Authority (NBSA), after questioning the Republic TV reporter and holding inquiry over the incident had stated that they could not decide conclusively that Shivani Gupta was harassed. The NBSA has also ordered that the Republic TV must run an apology on its channel for airing the incident and circling the face of Apurv Singh.

V S Achuthanandan says the CPI(M) will act against MLA accused of sexual harassment

V S Achuthanandan, the former Chief Minister of Kerala, who heads the Kerala Administrative Reforms Commission has said that strict action would be taken against CPI(M) MLA from Shornur MLA P K Sasi, who is alleged to have sexually harassed a DYFI leader.

As per reports, a woman member of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI)  has accused CPI(M) MLA P K Sasi of sexual harassment, after which the CPI(M) had initiated an inquiry.

Reportedly, V S Achuthanandan has said that appropriate measures will be taken against the MLA after looking into the situation. He also added that since it is an issue concerning a woman, strict action can be expected against the MLA.

MC Josephine, the chairperson of the Kerala Women’s Commission, had earlier said that without receiving any complaint, they cannot file a case against the MLA.

“The Party (CPI[M]) and the Women’s Commission are two different entities. If CPI(M) has received a complaint, they have their own ways of handling the matter,” said Josephine.

It is reported that the DYFI member had earlier written to the CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. The state unit had said it will probe the charges of sexual harassment levelled against Shoranur MLA P K Sasi. However, there was no action taken against the MLA, which prompted her to write another complaint to Brinda Karat.

Brinda Karat had forwarded the complaint to the central leadership. Sitaram Yechury, the party chief has now ordered the state unit to probe the incident.

In her complaint, she has accused P K Sasi of sexually harassing her in the Mannarcud party office. She has also added that the MLA used to call her up often and speak to her in obscene language.

However, Shornur MLA has rejected all the charges against him and called it a conspiracy to defame him.

After refusing blood and urine tests, Hardik Patel now not letting doctors weigh him: Reports

Congress-supported PAAS (Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti) leader Hardik Patel, who has been on a fast since past 13 days has now refused to let the doctors weight him, reports DeshGujarat.com. He has been refusing to let doctors take blood and urine tests since last three days. PK Solanki, a doctor at Sola Civil Hospital, has said that Hardik has not allowed his team to take blood and urine samples after 30th August. Even prior to that, he allowed the samples to be taken only twice. However, Patel did let allow the blood pressure and pulse rate to be measured.

Following his indefinite fast, reports have emerged that despite not having food, Hardik Patel has actually gained weight. Hardik is reportedly consuming water and fruits in his fast.

The doctors believe that the blood and urine samples will give them a clarity regarding the health status of Hardik Patel and other complications arising out of his fast.

Geeta Patel a PAAS leader, has reportedly stated that there were major discrepancies in results of Hardik’s blood tests done by the government doctors and private laboratories. She stated that while government lab results cited all reports to be normal, private laboratories results have pointed to complications. Hardik Patel’s associates have said that they fear that the government might forcefully admit him to the hospital to end his fast claiming his vital organs are damaging.

Hardik Patel, who was once the face of Patidar agitation in Gujarat, is now convicted for causing riots in Mehasana. Hardik Patel has been found guilty of charges related to arson and creating a ruckus at the office of BJP MLA Rushikesh Patel. He is also accused of large-scale violence in the state of Gujarat during the 2015 Patidar Andolan seeking reservations for Patidar community. A sedition case is also going on against him in an Ahmedabad court.

Interestingly, Gujarat Congress, which had earlier supported Jignesh Mevani in the 2017 state assembly elections, has come out in support of Hardik and announced a 1 day fast in solidarity with Hardik. Notably, in April this year, Congress President Rahul Gandhi had also pioneered ‘rapid fasting‘ by fasting for a few hours between 11 am to 4 pm. Congress leaders, including Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Ajay Maken had feasted on chhole bhature before going on the ‘symbolic’ fast.

Iran ready to handover Chabahar port to Indian firm for operation: Iranian Minister Abbas Akhoundi

In what seems to be a successful strategic policy initiative, Iran will now hand over the strategic Chabahar port to an Indian company within a month for operations as per an interim pact between two countries, said Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi said Thursday.

Abbas Akhoundi has arrived in India to participate in the Mobility Summit by Niti Aaayog on the invitation of the Indian government. “Now, we are ready just to hand over the port (Chabahar) to the Indian company to operate this in an interim agreement that already we had with Indian part for one and a half year”, Akhoundi told to the media in New Delhi.

He also said that India has also introduced a banking channel to ease trade and investment, which has also been approved by Iran’s central bank. Reportedly, discussions are underway between UCO Bank and Bank Pasargad for payment mechanism by which US-driven sanctions can be avoided. He further added that both countries are moving forward towards the utilization of the Chabahar port. Akkoundi said that handing over the port will be done within one month.

Chabahar, the only Iranian port with direct access to the ocean, lies in the Makran coast of south-eastern Iran is a highly energy-rich coast but underdeveloped free trade and industrial zone.

Chabahar is one of the most important strategic areas of influence for India, as it is located just 76 nautical miles (less than 150km) west of the Pakistani port of Gwadar, being developed by China. This makes it ideal for keeping track of Chinese or Pakistani military activity based out of Gwadar.

The Chabahar project provides better connectivity opportunity to countries like Iran, Afghanistan and beyond and most importantly bypasses the Pakistan land corridors and Karachi port to transport goods to the Central Asia region. India has already built necessary infrastructure in Afghanistan to bring more connectivity and also use the region for both economic and strategic initiatives.

India had constructed the Zaranj-Delaram road in 2009 which is to provide access to Afghanistan’s Garland Highway, facilitating transport to four major cities in Afghanistan — Herat, Kandahar, Kabul, and Mazar-e-Sharif. From Chabahar, an overland access to Zaranj in Afghanistan is also being built, which is about 900 km from the newly built port.

Chabahar port is important for India as it is easily accessible from Indian western ports of Mumbai and Kandla. Both Iran and India will have massive benefits from this project, as Iran receives much-needed investments in the region and India gets benefited from both strategic and economic point of view. Chabahar is set to open new trade and investment opportunities for India.

Website representing ‘Indian Muslims’ voice’ calls scrapping of section 377 as ‘a step towards self-destruction’

0

In a historic judgement, the Supreme Court yesterday decriminalised homosexuality, announcing consensual sex between adults of the same gender in private is no longer a crime under the IPC section 377. CJI Deepak Mishra and Justice Khanwaliker, reading the verdict, reportedly stated that discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is a violation of freedom of speech and expression. During the initial hearings in July, Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the government of India had stated that the Indian government will not contest the challenge to section 377 and will leave the judgement to the SC’s wisdom, so far as the SC limits the constitutional validity of section 377 to ‘consensual acts of adults in private’.

The Milli Gazette, which calls itself a ‘leading news source’ for Indian Muslims, however, referred to the judgement as ‘a step towards self-destruction’.

The Milli Gazette, the go-to place for Indian Muslims for news, calls the SC judgement as ‘revolt against God’s laws’ by ‘pro-incest lobbies’.

While sharing the article on decriminalisation of gay sex, The Milli Gazette calls the judgement as ‘violating God’s laws’ and hence it would be a step to ‘self-destruction’.

There are some schools of Islam which do not approve of homosexuality. In countries like Afghanistan, Brunei, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen and The United Arab Emirates, homosexuality activities carry death penalty [pdf].

In May 2016, a group of 51 Muslim states blocked 11 gay and transgender organisations from attending a high-level meeting at the United Nations on ending AIDS. Egypt wrote to the president of the 193-member general assembly on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to object to the participation of the 11 groups. In India, too, Darul Uloom Deoband yesterday slammed the Supreme Court’s decision saying that according to Shariat, homosexuality is haram and illegitimate.

SP Vaid removed from DGP post in Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh to take over

0

Sesh Paul Vaid who was till yesterday the DGP of the state of Jammu and Kashmir has been removed from his post and appointed as the transport commissioner. According to reports, a government order late on Thursday stated that SP Vaid has been removed from his post and Dilbag Singh, the DG of prisons, has been assigned the to the post of DGP temporarily.

Dilbag Singh, a 1987 batch IPS officer, will reportedly hold the additional responsibility of DGP. According to reports, the additional director general of CID in the state, Abdul Gani Mir, was also replaced by B Srinivas just days ago. Media reports have speculated that SP Vaid’s removal has come as a fallout of the recent incident where 12 family members of J&K police personnel were abducted by terrorists. The hostages were freed only after the police released the father of a top Hizbul commander. The order for Vaid’s removal was issued by the principal secretary RK Goyal.

According to reports, Dilbag Singh was made the DG of prisons after the infamous incident of dreaded LeT terrorist Naveed Jatt escaping from the Srinagar Hospital during a routine health check-up. Naveed Jatt was lodged in Srinagar jail and many staffers, including the prison doctor, were under scrutiny for allegedly aiding his escape.

After Dilbag Singh took over as DG prisons, he had reportedly brought many reforms, like transferring some dreaded criminals to jails outside Kashmir. The Srinagar jail has long been hailed as a paradise for terrorists. After Dilbag Singh took over, almost 40 terrorists serving time have reportedly been shifted to jails outside Kashmir. Recently, the NIA had arrested a former deputy superintendent of Srinagar jail, Firoz Ahmed Lone for his alleged involvement with helping an incarcerated Hizbul terrorist Ishak Palla meet fresh terror recruits and aiding them to exfiltrate the LoC to get trained in Pakistan operated terror camps.

it is notable here that the state of Jammu and Kashmir is currently under the governor’s rule. Satyapal Malik was recently appointed the governor of the state after former governor NN Vohra completed two successive terms as the governor of the state since 2008.

Demystifying the ‘Civil Society’: Christian orgs donated to organization that published report calling Amarnath Yatra ‘militarised’

0

In the previous article in the series, we reported on how the Amarnath Yatra report that was used by various media outlets such as the National Herald, Firstpost, The Wire, Frontline, etc. to write articles in which they argued that the Yatra was more political than spiritual was based on the assertions of a report published by JKCCS in collaboration with Equations. We also discovered that JKCCS was linked to CDRO, an organisation that was associated with most of the ‘urban Maoists’ who were raided and detained recently.

While in the previous article, we delved into the background of the JKCCS and discovered that it had clear separatist inclinations with its President Parvez Imroz stating in an interview that Pakistan was a better option for Kashmir than India, in this one, we would delve into the other organisation, Equations, that had co-published the report calling Amarnath Yatra ‘militarised pilgrimage’.

Equitable Tourism Options (Equations)

In this instalment of the series, we shall investigate the other organization that was involved in the publishing of the aforementioned report, ‘Amarnath Yatra: A Militarized Pilgrimage’, Equitable Tourism Options (Equations). On its website, it states, “Equations envisions a just and equitable world, where all people have the freedom and right to determine their lives and future”. It further states, “Equations envisions tourism which is non-exploitative, where decision making is democratized and access to and benefits of tourism are equitably distributed.” The organization states that it works across the themes of ‘Child & Tourism’, ‘Ecosystems, Communities and Tourism’, ‘Governance, Law and Tourism’, ‘Tourism Education’ and other areas related to tourism.

Source of Funds

On its website, Equations also mentions the records of the foreign contributions it has received. We discovered that two organizations regularly made contributions to them for ‘Research and Advocacy work on Tourism in India’ and related grant and travel expenses from 2016. Those organizations are ‘Bread for the World’ (henceforth referred to as Bread) and ‘Misereor’. In 2018 alone, Equations received over Rs. 26 lakhs in contributions from Bread and over Rs. 24 lakhs from Misereor. In 2017, Bread contributed more than Rs. 57 lakhs and Misereor over Rs. 83 lakhs to Equations. In 2016, Equations received as grant over Rs. 65 lakhs from Bread and more than Rs. 46 lakhs from Misereor. It can, hence, be seen that Equations received a significant amount of grant from foreign organizations.

Thus, it prompted us to investigate the organizations which have contributed so significantly to Equations for “research and advocacy work” related to Tourism. First, we shall take a look at Bread before turning our focus to Misereor.

Bread for the World

Bread’s website describes itself as “a collective Christian voice” whose goal is to end world hunger home and abroad. It is based in Washington but the donations have been made from Germany. The organization works regularly with a host of evangelical Churches and organizations. Evangelical Covenant Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, National Association of Evangelicals, National Latino Evangelical Coalition among them. Bread also has ‘strong partnerships’ with Oxfam, among other organizations, which was accused of covering up sexual misconduct by its members in Haiti. Bread also plays a leadership role in many coalitions of organizations including the Evangelical Immigration Table.

In India, Bread makes contributions to various NGOs and institutions. One such organization that receives donations from Bread for the World is South Central India Network for Development Alternatives (SCINDeA), which focus on development activities and works with Tribals, Dalits, fisherfolk, quarry workers, slum dwellers and other such groups.

Yet another organization that receives funds from Bread is the Rongmei Naga Baptist Association (RNBA). One of the many objectives of RNBA is to set up and run theological seminary.

Yet another NGO that receives contributions from Bread for the World is Center for World Solidarity (CWS) whose mission is “To promote a rights-based, gendered and eco-sustainable approach that will advance people-centred governance, livelihoods and management of natural resources.” Its mother-ship is Action for World Solidarity, one of the objectives of which is “to defend political, social and cultural human right”.

Conspicuously, another organization which receives a great deal of contribution from Bread is the Socio-Legal Information Center (SLIC), a division of which is the Human Rights Law Network (HRLN). The HRLN works in a variety of areas such as Child Rights, Labour Rights, Prisoners’ Rights, Criminal Justice, Refugee Rights among a host of others. Notably, the HRLN claims it has been providing free legal aid to Rohingya detainees across the country. The network has filed PILs related to the implementation of the RTE Act. HRLN has also filed a PIL in the Supreme Court on behalf on Najeeb’s mother, the missing student from JNU, upon which the SC directed the Delhi government, the Police and authorities at JNU to be even more rigorous in their probe to find him. The HRLN was also part of a campaign to abolish sedition along with PUCL, PUDR, APDR, CPDR, APCLC, which are coordinating organizations of CDRO, an umbrella organization we have reported on extensively in the first part of the series.

Misereor

Another organization that contributes significantly to the SLIC is the Misereor. If our readers would remember, it is the same organization that contributed significantly to Equations, which came up with the Amarnath Yatra report in collaboration with JKCCS, an organization with clear separatist inclinations.

As per Misereor’s website, it is a “German Catholic Bishops’ Organisation for Development Cooperation”. Misereor funds various organizations in India, including Caritas India and Indo Global Social Service Society (IGSSS).

The vision of IGSSS is to “Help establish a humane social order based on equity, freedom and justice in which human rights and the dignity of every individual is upheld.” It has worked extensively in Jammu and Kashmir, with strengthening civil society action in Kashmir among its action areas. It has also focused on strengthening local governance.

Another organization that receives contributions from Misereor is the Agra Catholic Diocese Samaj Seva Sanstha (ACDSSS). Its mission is “To strive for a humane society of sustainable development based on the principles of equality, distributive justice and secularism in solidarity with the marginalized through the empowerment process. Its vision is “a humane society based on the values of equality, distributive justice, secularism, love brotherhood, peace, respect and dignity.”

Yet another organization is the Catholic Social Service Society (CSSS) of Jammu and Kashmir. Its mission is “Promotion, restoration and sustenance of dignity of human beings, preferentially, the poor and the less privileged, by partnering with state and non-state actors, through the process of empowerment and right based approach”. Misereor also makes contributions to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Balasore. It runs convents, parishes, educational institutions, hostels, etc. Its religious congregation’s list Congregation of The Mission which is a clerical society of apostolic life. “The object of apostolic life/ society determines that each member, besides developing himself to his own perfection, shall be employed in preaching the Gospel to the poor,” its website further says. Its religious congregation also lists the Society of Jesus which is engaged in evangelical activities all across the world. Misereor also grants funds to the Jesuit Chennai Mission which claims to work for the Dalit community.

Caritas India, which is a major recipient of the contribution from Misereor, was put on a government watch list by the NDA in 2015. A Home Ministry official, who asked not to be named, asserted that Caritas had violated foreign funding norms by financing groups that were working “against the country”. The Vatican describes Caritas as its official voice “in relation to its teachings in the area of charity work”.

Conclusion

Therefore, the gist of the matter is this: one of the organizations which were involved in the publishing of the report, “Amarnath Yatra: A Militarized Pilgrimage” received significant donations from Christian organizations based abroad. These Christian organizations also contribute significantly to various Christian organizations in India, including Jesuit societies and more importantly, a network of advocates who file PILs related to various areas of national significance and are even involved in a campaign to abolish sedition in cohorts with organizations with alleged links to Maoists.

Politicisation of India’s historic Asian Games performance is unfair to our athletes

0

Indian sportspersons have just returned home after a glorious performance in the Asian Games hosted in Jakarta, Indonesia with a tally of 69 medals, including 15 gold. Several of these medals were won by an Indian athlete for the first time in the history of the games. Vinesh Phogat got us the first ever gold medal in women’s wrestling, Neeraj Chopra in the javelin throw, Saina Nehwal in women’s badminton and Swapna Barman in women’s heptathlon event. Many events, like Sepak Takrow and Men’s table tennis, saw an India winning a medal for the first time.

However, as with any national achievement nowadays, politicisation and negativity seem to accompany India’s remarkable performance in the Asian Games too. Soon after a larger section of social media users and mainstream media started celebrating India’s performance, there were criticisms flowing through.

An article in Shekhar Gupta’s ThePrint, curiously titled “The political reason behind Modi and BJP ministers praising India’s Asian Games winners” went ahead to accuse that PM Modi and the ministers in the central government are praising the winning sportspersons because they want ‘Twitter applause’ and ‘ad campaigns’ will help woo the young generation for the upcoming DUSU polls and 2019 general elections.

The article in The Print

However, the article in ThePrint did not discuss why the PM and his ministers had shown equal enthusiasm in greeting, praising and awarding the athletes from the Rio Olympics since the general elections were still too far away back then in 2016. Unsurprisingly, the allegation of the BJP’s great plan of using the Asian Games performance as a tool to win DUSU, among other elections was attributed to a ‘source’.

Many news articles and official statements regarding the Asian Games had hailed the performance as India’s best-ever performance in any Asian Games. A tweet by the sports authority of India has claimed that taking total medal tally and the number of gold and silver medals into account, the recently concluded Jakarta Asian games were India’s best ever performance, followed by the 2010 Guangzhou Asian games and the inaugural 1951 Asian Games in Delhi.

A quick search into the veracity of the claims revealed the following facts about the performances of the 3 most successful Asian Games for India.

  • In the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, India had won 65 medals with 14 golds, 17 silvers and 34 bronzes. 625 Indian players had participated in 36 different sports. 45 different countries have participated in the event that saw 9704 athletes compete in 42 kinds of sports.
  • In the 1951 Asian Games, the number of nations participating was only 11. A total of 489 athletes had participated in 8 different sports and discipline. India, being the host nation had the maximum number of participating players.
  • 45 counties have participated in the 2018 Asian Games, too, in 40 different sports and disciplines. India had sent 570 players. More than 11 thousand players from different countries had participated in the event.

Though the 1951 Asian Games meant a lot for Indian sports, as India had finished second after Japan in the medal tally and for a nation that had just gained independence, hosting an international sporting event was a matter of great pride, comparing the performances of the players then and now would be unfair at the least. While the players in 1951 played without much experience, exposure and facilities, the players now are facing stronger opponents, wider competition and the break-neck competitiveness of many nations with state of the art facilities.

Hartosh Singh Bal’s tweet comparing the 1951 and 2018 Asian Games as a  Nehru vs Modi perspective was not received well by many on social media.

A certain section of Indian media has been very sceptical of the 2018 Asian Games’ success and its celebration. There were even certain articles sermonising that India should not celebrate its victories as China has performed better. While striving for a better performance is always good, branding a much-deserved success of our hardworking players, many of whom had struggled through limited means and poverty to achieve success as a mere political gimmick and unworthy of celebration is a very negative mentality. It only reminds everyone of that one sulky relative who would criticise everything and would never let the youngsters have fun at family events. Indian athletes have worked very hard for this success and they deserve every bit of the celebrations, praise and prizes being showered over them.

‘Rahul Gandhi is the biggest buffoon in the country’: Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao

Addressing media hours after dissolving the state assembly, Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao dismissed Congress President Rahul Gandhi as a ‘buffoon’. Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief even said that they will announce the list of 105 candidates for the elections that may soon be announced for the formation of new government.

Daring the Congress to come and fight elections on the ground, KC Rao said that Telangana is now free of issues like bomb blasts, electricity shortage and communal violence which plagued the newly formed state. But it is now free of all this.

Referring to Rahul Gandhi as ‘buffoon’, he mocked Rahul Gandhi’s ‘hug-and-wink‘ drama from the floor test held in July. He said that Rahul Gandhi is like an asset for TRS and the more he visits Telangana for campaigning, the more it will work in their favour and lead to electoral wins. Further, referring to TRS as a secular party, he denied joining hands with the BJP for the election which is expected to be announced soon.

Taking a dig at the Rahul Gandhi, who, ironically, had earlier accused Telangana CM of dynasty politics, KC Rao said that Rahul Gandhi has inherited the legacy of Congress Delhi sultanate and he is the legal heir of Congress empire of Delhi and appealed to people that Telangana decisions should be taken in Telangana and not from Delhi.
