There has been a threefold increase in drone sightings along the India-Pakistan border, with 311 observations of such Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAVs) till December 23 this year compared to 104 in 2021.
Besides this data collated by the Border Security Force (BSF), which is mandated to guard the 3,323 km India-Pakistan border, the drone sighting incidents have quadrupled as compared to 2020 when 77 UAVs — a major source of smuggling arms and ammunition, as well as drugs into India — were observed along the Pakistan border.
The drone sightings, which were majorly observed in different areas in Punjab, were within a range of 2-10 km of the International Border.
However, alert BSF personnel shot down over 22 such drones and seized nearly 45 kg of heroin and a cache of arms and ammunition — including seven grenades, two magazines, 60 ammunition and other arms.
Out of a total of 492 UAVs or drones observed on the India-Pakistan border from January 1, 2020, to December 23, this year, 311 were sighted this year, 104 in 2021 and 77 in 2020, reveals the data accessed by ANI.
Of the total drone sightings, 369 UAVs were observed in Punjab, 75 in Jammu, 40 in Rajasthan, and 8 in Gujarat.
In Punjab, a maximum of 164 drones were observed in Amritsar, 96 in Gurdaspur, 84 in Ferozpur and 25 in Abohar districts. Under the Jammu frontier, a total of 35 drones were observed in Indreshwar Nagar, 29 in Jammu and 11 in Sunderbani. In Rajasthan, 32 drones were observed in Sri Ganganagar, seven in Barmer, three each in Bikaner and Jaisalmer North, two in Jaisalmer South and one in Bhuj.
The data further revealed that a total of 206 drones were observed between July 1 and December 23 this year. Of them, a maximum of 45 drones were observed in August, followed by 44 in September, 38 on October, 36 in November, and 24 in December. July saw the fewest drone sightings at 19.
Among these sightings, 60 were in Amritsar, 55 in Ferozepur, 39 in Gurdaspur, 23 in Abohar, 10 in Sri Ganganagar, 6 in Indreshwar Nagar, 5 in Jammu, 3 in Barmer, 2 in Jaisalmer North and one in Bikaner.
Officials in the BSF told ANI that drones are being used by Pakistan to smuggle weapons, explosives and narcotics across the border from Pakistan.
The increased drone activity across the border was brought to the notice of Union Home Minister Amit Shah at a security review meeting in Srinagar in October, with top security and intelligence chiefs in attendance. While the BSF, which mans the international border with Pakistan in the Jammu sector, believes that it has been able to repel drones carrying arms, ammunition and explosives from Pakistan, the state police and the intelligence agencies differ with this assessment.
The security forces have seized various AK series assault rifles, pistols, MP4 carbines, carbine magazines and high explosive grenades as well as narcotics, which were transported into Indian territory from Pakistan from the drones shot down so far.
According to security agencies, BSF intelligence inputs and Jammu and Kashmir Police officers, the drones are also used to drop packets of Afghan heroin for financing terror operations in the Valley and Punjab.
It is learnt that the group behind the transportation of weapons, explosives and drugs is Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba and other terror outfits, which have camps across the International Boundary and is backed by the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
The Home ministry is learnt to have directed all agencies concerned to find solutions to drone activities from across the border. Security agencies and law enforcement forces have also been asked to keep a special watch on such movements.

On Monday, December 26, Congress scion Rahul Gandhi shocked everyone by walking around Delhi in a t-shirt. Delhi is experiencing a severe cold wave right now with temperatures hovering around 10 degrees Celsius. While several news organisations were left seriously impressed by Rahul Gandhi’s thermodynamic system, Congress workers were apparently more impressed than most.
Long-time Congress loyalist Salman Khurshid was so impressed by Rahul Gandhi’s act of wearing a t-shirt that he called Rahul Gandhi superhuman for wearing one during Delhi winters.
Rahul Gandhi is superhuman. While we are freezing in cold & wearing jackets, he is going out in T-Shirts (for his Bharat Jodo yatra). He is like a yogi doing his ‘tapasya’ with focus: Congress leader Salman Khurshid pic.twitter.com/1wrE0hgBiA
Salman Khurshid said that while they are freezing in the cold and wearing jackets, he (Rahul Gandhi) is going out in T-Shirts for his Bharat Jodo Yatra. Khurshid added that Rahul Gandhi is like a Yogi doing a tapasya since he wore a t-shirt.
Not satisfied with the comparison of Rahul Gandhi to superhumans, Khurshid went forward and compared him to Lord Ram. The Laal Singh Chaddha run of Rahul Gandhi largely skipped Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous state, and the state with the highest number of Lok Sabha seats, and Khurshid had an excuse ready for it.
Lord Ram’s ‘khadau’ goes very far. Sometimes when Ram ji is not able to reach, Bharat takes the ‘khadau’ and goes to places. Like that, we have carried the ‘khadau’ in UP. Now that ‘khadau’ has reached UP, Ram ji (Rahul Gandhi) will also come: Congress leader Salman Khurshid pic.twitter.com/vuAQmsvQYG
Comparing Rahul Gandhi to Lord Ram, Khurshid said, “Sometimes when Ram ji is not able to reach, Bharat takes the ‘khadau’ and goes to places. Like that, we have carried the ‘khadau’ in UP.”
Further, Khurshid said that now that they have taken his ‘khadau’ to Uttar Pradesh, Ram Ji (Rahul Gandhi) will also come. It is notable that Rahul Gandhi used to contest elections only from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh till 2019, when, sensing defeat at the hands of Smriti Irani, he decided to contest from Wayanad in Kerala as well.
Khurshid was not the only congress worker to sing praises of Rahul Gandhi for wearing a t-shirt, Chairperson of Social Media and Digital Platforms for Congress in Maharajganj, Supriya Shrinate, also sang Rahul Gandhi’s praises for wearing a t-shirt and compared him to a ‘tapasvi’.
6 डिग्री में कोई सिर्फ़ टी शर्ट में कैसे रह सकता है?
इस कदर का आत्म नियंत्रण, आत्मबल तपस्वियों का ही होता है.
Supriya Shrinate had earlier taken to Twitter to show a picture of a shoe to ‘prove’ that another Congress leader did not bow down to tie Rahul Gandhi’s shoelace because his shoes do not even have laces.
It is yet to be seen how many Indians vote for Rahul Gandhi for wearing a t-shirt, but reactions from Congress members suggest that they think they have stumbled upon a winning formula with this t-shirt.
A Pakistani fishing vessel carrying weapons and 10 crew members was intercepted by the Indian Coast Guard in the Indian waters off the Gujarat coast, the official Twitter account of the agency tweeted.
The boat, named Al Soheli, was intercepted in a joint operation with the Gujarat ATS squad. It was reportedly carrying 10 crew members, arms, ammunition, and approximately 40 kilograms of narcotics worth Rs 300 crores. The agency took the boat to Okha for further investigation

For years, Pakistan has used the sea route to infiltrate terrorists and smuggle narcotics into India. In the past several months, the coast guard and the Gujarat police have foiled many smuggling bids by Pakistani fish trawlers trying to illegally spirit away contraband into India through the sea route.
In August 2022, Deepan Bhadran, ATS Deputy Inspector General, said smugglers have started employing two distinct methods to get narcotics into the nation. “They either use a fishing boat to enter Gujarat through the sea route illegally or send the contraband in shipping containers which land at our ports. But, Gujarat ATS, in coordination with central agencies like DRI and Coast Guard, has foiled all these attempts during the last few years,” Bhadran was quoted as saying.
Mumbai 26/11 attackers had infiltrated India through a sea route
Not just smugglers but terrorists have also used the sea route to intrude into India and carry out their nefarious activities. Mumbai 26/11 attackers, including Ajmal Amir Kasab, had entered Mumbai through the sea route, before launching a well co-ordinated multiple simultaneous attacks at various nerve centres of the city, bringing the financial hub of the country to a grinding halt and leaving over 160 people dead in their wake.
On 26 November 2008, 10 Lashkar-e Toiba terrorists from Pakistan reached Mumbai through the sea route and lay siege to the city for more than 60 hours. They unleashed mayhem in the city, killing innocent people in their wake as they opened fire with complete abandon. About 166 people were killed in the attack, including 18 security personnel, and scores of others were rendered injured and maimed.
While the security forces killed 9 terrorists in the encounter that ensued following the attacks which were later branded as Mumbai 26/11 attacks, they managed to grab hold of one Pakistani terrorist alive, Ajmal Amir Kasab, who was caught alive by the security forces when he sped through the Marine Drive a little after midnight on November 27, 2008. From Kasab, the police were able to uncover the grand conspiracy hatched by terrorists in Pakistan to wreak havoc in the financial capital of India.

Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police Shwetank Mishra said that on the information from intelligence sources, the police and CRPF recovered a cache of weapons from the Jalan Tea Garden located in the heart of Dibrugarh city while conducting the operation.
“Two AK magazines, 12 rounds of bullets, two bottle grenades and timer devices have been recovered,” said Shwetank Mishra.
Shwetank Mishra further said that the police operation is going on and talks are being held with the local people in this context. SP said that the weapon is old and an investigation is going on. The weapon was kept in a packet in the tea garden.
When asked about the increasing the activities of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) in Upper Assam, Special DGP GP Singh said that preparations to curb the activities are going on.
“Whereas, in view of the new year, the police are vigilant for drink and drive cases in the city. Police are capable of stopping any activity,” said Special DGP GP Singh.
Earlier in Biswanath, as many as two people were apprehended as the Assam Police seized a large quantity of Ganja in the Biswanath district. The apprehended accused have been identified as Krising Daimary and Nahu Daimary. The police recovered around 75 kg of Ganja.
According to police, based on secret information, a police team chased a vehicle and caught two persons in the Jamugurihat Borpathar area.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Biswanath, Kulendra Nath Deka said, “When the police team was chasing the vehicle, the apprehended persons had thrown several packets of Ganja on road and tried to flee.” Kulendra Nath Deka said that they also seized a vehicle.
“When our team chased them they tried to flee from the area, but we caught them. We brought them to Kolapani road and recovered 75.20 kg of Ganja. We have also seized a vehicle bearing registration number AS-12 X-0498. Our investigation is on and we will catch all persons who are involved with this,” Kulendra Nath Deka said.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) with its supporters has attacked defense establishments in Pakistan 148 times within a year. And the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan has given these terror attacks by TTP a boost. But the central government seems reluctant to take action against them, Khaama Press reported.
The TTP in the last year has conducted hundreds of terror attacks on the police and army headquarters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Quetta in the Balochistan region. The Khaama Press article quoted unconfirmed reports which said that other militant groups have joined forces with the TTP to expand their terrorist operation in tribal areas of the country.
The Khaama Press in its report also mentioned that these attacks can increase in number as the TTP recently ended the ceasefire that they had with the Pakistani authorities.
However, the common people in Pakistan have been showing their aggression in the matter via protests like the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement [PTM] demanding the establishment to take action against these groups, according to Khaama Press.
Previously, on December 23 a suicide bombing shook Islamabad killing two conspirators and a policeman. Along with this at least three police officers and seven passers-by were wounded in the bombing.
Pakistan’s capital city attack took place nine miles from the garrison city of Rawalpindi, home of the military and government spy agencies.
“Security has been re-alert in Islamabad. Carrying weapons is not allowed under any circumstances. Election-related meetings will not take place without the permission of the police. Election activities and corner meetings will be allowed inside the four walls,” Islamabad Police tweeted.
Police said the blast took place when police officers spotted a car and ordered the driver to halt for routine checking. Instead of stopping, its driver detonated explosives hidden inside. A female passenger in the car also was killed, Suhail Zafar Chattha, a senior police officer in Islamabad told reporters at the scene.
The TV footage showed a burning car as police officers cordoned off the area. Residents said they saw policemen on motorcycles chasing a car and ordering a man inside the vehicle to come out. Police confirmed that account, saying the suspect blew up the explosive-laden vehicle after being surrounded by police officers.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the bombing and thanked the police. “Police officers stopped the terrorists by sacrificing their blood and the nation salutes its brave men,” Sharif said in a statement.
The responsibility of the attack was later taken by TTP. In a statement, TTP announced that the killing was orchestrated because of the killing of their senior leader.
This violence comes days after several Pakistani Taliban detainees overpowered guards at a counterterrorism center in north-western Pakistan after snatching police weapons and taking three officers hostage.

Amid the Christmas festivities, over 100 people belonging to 20 Valmiki families in Khurja of the Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh reverted to Hinduism.
The ‘Ghar Wapsi‘ initiative was organised by Rashtriya Chetna Mission along with Valmiki Sangh with the help of local MLA Minakshi Singh.
“People who had to, unfortunately, leave Sanatan Dharma due to their situation or confusion were once again brought to the Hindu fold once again,” Singh said.
Singh said those who reverted to Hinduism took an oath to pray to Sri Ram, Sri Krishna, and other Sanatan deities from now on.
“A ‘Ghar Wapasi’ programme in Sanatan Dharma has been organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, in which we are welcoming people who have come back to the Hindu religion,” Hemant Singh, president of Rashtriya Chetna Mission, said.
Sandeep Valmiki, one of the recent reverts to Hinduism, said, “I became a Christian after my child’s health got better when I offered prayers to Jesus. But when my mother died, they forced us to perform the rituals according to Christianity, even though my mother wanted her last rites to be performed as per the Hindu Dharma.”
The Rashtriya Chetna Mission teamed up with the VHP to organise a religious retreat programme at Kalindi Kunj Colony in Khurja. Local MLA Singh garlanded people on their return to Hinduism. “Around 100 people, who voluntarily converted to Hinduism, were given the Vedic mantra and helped with the legal process for their smooth reversion to the Hindu fold,” Singh said.
On Sunday, Sadhvi Pragya, the BJP MP from Bhopal spoke at the Hindu Jagarana Vedike’s South Region annual convention, talking about the rights of Hindus to defend themselves against unilateral aggression. No sooner was the video out, ‘Liberal’ journalists proceeded to misrepresent what she said, spread fake news and claim that the MP was calling for a genocide of Muslims.
Anusha Ravi Sood, a journalist and the political editor of a lesser-known portal called ‘thsouthfirst.com’ tweeted a snippet of the speech by Sadhvi and said, “Terror case-accused @BJP4India MP from Bhopal Pragya Singh Thakur calls for the killing of Muslims during her speech in Karnataka on Sunday during Hindu Jagarana Vedike’s event. “Keep weapons at home. Keep them sharp. If veggies can be cut well, so can the enemy’s head,” she says”.

Had Sadhvi called for an out-and-out genocide of Muslims, it would be condemnable and prosecutable under the law of the land. No individual, much less an elected representative, has the right to call for the unilateral killing of a certain section of people and vilify an entire group of people based on their religion.
However, Sadhvi did not call for genocide. What Anusha Ravi Sood said was a product of her own interpretation and presumably, a result of her bias against the rights of Hindus and Sadhvi Pragya herself.
Here is a transcript of what Sadhvi said in the snippet posted by Sood:
“Those who do Love Jihad, give them a response like Love Jihad. Keep your girls safe and make sure you impart good Sankar to your girls. Keep weapons in your house. If nothing else, sharpen the vegetable knife and keep it in your house. I am speaking very clearly that even in our house our knives should be sharpened to cut vegetables. They killed our Harsha will knives. They used the knife to kill our Hindu warriors – they killed Hindus and workers from Bajrang Dal, BJP and Yuva Morcha – they killed them up and cut them. So we should also keep our vegetable knives sharp – you don’t know what situation would arise when. So when our vegetables get cut properly then the heads of enemies would also cut properly..”
From the simple translation of the speech itself, it becomes abundantly apparent that Sadhvi did not use the word “Muslim” even once in her speech. A call for genocide would entail someone saying that Hindus need to assemble weapons and murder the next Muslim that they see on the roads – Sadhvi said no such thing. She merely said that Hindus need to keep weapons at home to protect and defend themselves.
In fact, even a Muslim website like Siasat.com had the integrity to publish the correct interpretation of the speech delivered by Sadhvi. Their headline read, “Hindus have right to respond to those, who attack their dignity: Pragya Thakur”.
Headline by Siasat.com
In the article itself, they wrote, “The MP representing Bhopal Parliamentary segment in Madhya Pradesh also called on the community to at least keep the knives in their homes sharp, as everyone has the right to protect themselves. “Love jihad, they have a tradition of jihad, if nothing they do love jihad. Even if they love they do jihad in that. We (Hindus) too love, love the god, a sanyasi loves his god,” Thakur said”.
The report further reads, “Speaking at the Hindu Jagarana Vedike’s South Region annual convention here on Sunday, she said, “Sanyasi says in this world created by god, end all the oppressors and sinful, if not the true definition of love will not survive here. So answer those involved in Love Jihad the same way. Protect your girls, teach them the right values.” Further, pointing at the killing of Hindu activists including Harsha of Shivamogga, she asked people to keep knives at home sharp for the sake of self-protection. “Keep weapons in your homes, if nothing else, at least knives used to cut vegetables, sharp…Don’t know what situation will arise when. Everyone has the right to self-protection. If someone infiltrates our house and attacks us, giving a befitting replay is our right,” she said”.
The report by Maktoob media, a portal that has often been caught spreading hate against Hindus, was headlined, “BJP MP Pragya Thakur urges Hindus to keep weapons at home, cut enemy’s head”. While in the report itself they interpreted Thakur as talking about Muslims, they did not quote her as using the word “Muslim” in her speech.
Even thesouthfirst.com, the portal where Sood is the political editor, did not attribute a call to genocide to Sadhvi Pragya.
headline by southfirst.com
While even Muslim media chose to not quote Pragya out of context, liberal journalists like Sood were more than happy to impose their own interpretation and spread fake news against Sadhvi. It is pertinent to note here that Sadhvi Pragya only spoke about Love Jihad and the fact that the Hindu community has seen unilateral and unbridled violence against themselves and that, they need to keep weapons handy to protect themselves, should a situation arise where the enemy is at the gate, ready to kill, as they did with Harsha and so many other Hindu activists.
The journalist who accused Sadhvi of calling for the genocide of Muslims, first, admitted that Hindus are being murdered unilaterally by elements from within the Muslim community – that admittance itself deserves applause, even if her tweet was not aimed to admit that fact at all, rather, it was aimed at demonising Hindus (especially Sadhvi) and hand the victim card to the Muslim community. That Sadhvi Pragya called for Hindus to defend themselves cannot be misconstrued as a call for genocide simply because even liberal journalists seem to acknowledge that elements from the Muslim community are indulging in unilateral violence against the Hindus. Let us assume for a moment that another community, say the Jains, were unilaterally forcing Hindu girls to convert to Jainism, using force and violence, indulging in mob violence and employing some Jain form of Jihad against the Hindus – would Sadhvi Pragya’s speech apply to them as well? Yes, it would. And since it would, it cannot be said that she called for the murder of Muslims – she called for self-defence – now, that the aggressors happen to be from one community overwhelmingly is immaterial when one has to interpret what she said.
The hypocrisy of the Liberal world is also apparent in the fact that if someone from the Muslim community was giving a call to arms, saying that Hindus are lynching Muslims and that the Muslim community needs to defend themselves, no liberal journalist would have said that they were giving a genocidal call against Hindus – they would have rather claimed that they are scared, insecure about their safety and are therefore talking about protecting themselves in a country where the law enforcement has failed to protect poor Muslims.
Let us take the example of what Mahmood Paracha said in 2019 inside a Mosque. In 2019, Paracha organised a training camp inside a Lucknow Mosque, teaching Muslims how to acquire firearm licenses to combat alleged mob lynching incidents against Muslims. Firstly, Sood, who is now tweeting about Sadhvi, does not have even one tweet where she spoke about what Paracha said in 2019. Secondly, even the media did not credit him with calling for the genocide of Hindus. The media quoted what he had said verbatim. Now, why was that concession given to Paracha and not Sadhvi when the nature of what they said was similar? In fact, Sadhvi had not set up a training camp inside a religious institute, she merely called for self-defence and yet, she was accused of giving a call for genocide.
Now only that – it is an established fact that unilateral violence is unleashed by elements in the Muslim community against the Hindu community. This, by no means, is a controversial statement, rather, an established fact. Every year, there are hundreds of cases of Love jihad, mob violence against Hindus, calls for violence against idolators, forceful conversions and murders in the name of Islam. One can look away if one wishes to, but facts truly don’t care about liberal sensibilities. Given the thousand years of history of Jihad of the Islamists against the Hindu community, and the propensity of the Hindu community to forget their own genocide and still be plural towards the Muslim community, the assumption that Muslims would gather arms for aggression and Hindus would gather arms for self-preservation, is not outlandish. Let us take the example of the Delhi anti-Hindu riots. The chargesheets, video evidence and investigation clearly prove that Muslims were gathering stones, sticks, acid pouches, acid bottles, slings atop their terrace etc to unleash violence against the Hindus and “teach kafirs a lesson”. Any violence that was committed by the Hindus towards the end of the riot was for self-defence. There is no evidence that Hindus were gathering arms for unilateral and initiated aggression against the Muslim community.
We have now established that Sadhvi Pragya did not call for the genocide of Muslims and Liberal journalists, owing to their innate bias against Sadhvi herself and Hindus on the whole, proceeded to spread fake news, the malaise, however, is far deeper than just fake news being spread out of bias.
Historically, Hindus defending themselves have in itself been branded as an act of aggression and we see a continuation of that narrative to this day.
In 1946, the massacre of Hindus in Bengal was rather intricately planned. Jinnah is recalled having said that he will either have India divided or India burnt and that he had given up on Constitutional methods to demand the creation of Pakistan. Jinnah had chosen the 16th of August as Direction Action Day because it was the 18th day of Ramzan, the day when the Battle of Badr was fought and won – a war fought by Prophet Muhammad himself, against the Kaffirs, and is considered to be won by Allah’s divine intervention by Muslims. The battle led to the violent occupation of Mecca.
On the 16th of August, Calcutta was littered with posters lionising Jinnah and reminding Muslims that they had to follow in the footsteps of the Prophet. It is reported that Syed Muhammad Usman, mayor of Calcutta, had issued a widely circulated leaflet that said: Kafer! Toder dhongsher aar deri nei! Sarbik hotyakando ghotbei! (Infidels! Your end is not far away! You will be massacred!). The aim was to make Bengal ‘land of the pure’ and rid it of the Kaffirs (Hindus). The aim was to wage another Battle of Badr, in which the Muslims would conquer the heathens.
What followed on the 16th right after the Jumma Namaz is Muslims going on a rampage, beheading Hindus, chopping their limbs off and raping Hindu women. Several women were taken as sex slaves by those who were fighting with the religious fervour of the Battle of Badr. In the Kesoram Cotton Mills at Lichubagan in the Muslim-dominated Metiabruz area, Muslim mobs entered and beheaded over 600 labourers. The Hindus, neutered and asked by Gandhi to die with smile on their face hardly fought back. There was a mass exodus from Bengal that marked millions fleeing because the massacre seemed too brutal to fight against.
During the Direct Action Day, on the 17th of August after 2 days of Hindus being massacred, Gopal Chandra Mukhopadhyay rose like a phoenix. Gopal Patha (Patha means ‘lamb’. He was called so because he ran a mutton shop) had already founded the Bharat Jatiya Bahini, an organisation of young men to help fellow citizens during a natural calamity. On the 17th, Gopal Patha turned from a philanthropist to a warrior, ready to defend his people. Throughout the night, Gopal Patha, along with his young men from the Bharat Jayati Bahini worked on a plan on how they could defend Hindus from the Muslim barbarians. The marwaris offered finances, others spent the night making weapons for them.
Muslim League chief minister of Bengal, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy and the Muslim League goons had decided on the 17th that they were going to take two more days to complete the annihilation of Hindus. But they had not taken into consideration their greatest roadblock. Gopal Patha.
From the 18th to 20th, Gopal Patha and his men put up a brave fight, paying the Muslim League goons back in equal measure, if not more. Historian Sandip Bandopadhyay wrote, “They faced resistance everywhere. Hindu youths counter-attacked with such ferocity that the Muslim League men had to flee. Many were killed. Emboldened by their success in taking on and defeating their Islamist attackers, Hindu youths took the fight to Muslim-majority areas and started killing Islamist men. They did not, however, touch Muslim women and children or the aged and the infirm”.
By the 19th of August, suddenly, the Muslims started feeling unsafe. Only two days of retribution, of self-defence, and the Muslim League started running with tail between their legs. It was only on the 21st of August when the Muslims had started feeling unsafe because the Hindus dared to defend themselves, did Viceroy’s rule come into action in Bengal.
Not just the Direct Action Day, even during the Malabar Genocide of Hindus, when the Moplah Muslims went on a rampage against Hindus, killing, beheading, and raping, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi told Hindus that they were being massacred because they perhaps failed to make the Mohammedans feel like their brothers.
Every time Hindus have been massacred, our leaders and our “plural” stalwarts have asked Hindus to die with a smile on their face, and any self-defence by the Hindus have been deemed as a greater sin than the aggression of the Muslims. It was only after the Muslims published two booklets insulting Hindus, did Mahashay Rajpal publish Rangeela Rasool, satirising the Prophet of Islam. Even though Rangeela Rasool was a response to Muslims insulting Hindus, it was Mahashay Rajpal who was condemned by Gandhi and eventually, murdered by the Muslims. A similar trajectory was followed during the Kohat violence and more recently, in the case of Nupur Sharma.
Fact remains that Sadhvi Pragya called for Hindus to ensure they can defend themselves when the barbarians are standing at the door. Any condemnation for a call to self-defence essentially means that the Liberal world wants Hindus to die with a smile on their face and sacrifice their daughters in the pursuit of brotherhood, which overwhelmingly means Hindus accepting their own genocide and persecution as par for the course. The “Liberals” want Hindus to never defend their daughters against the Abduls who pretend to be Mohan before forcing them to convert to Islam, the families that murder Hindu men for being in love with Muslim girls, the Islamists who murder the Kanhaiya Lals because they perceive an insult to their religion as a crime punishable by death and those who want to teach “Kafirs a lesson” – the question is – will the Hindus still accept the Gandhi-Esque guilt-tripping that is now being dished out by the Liberal ecosystem.
On Monday, December 26, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the group chairman of Videocon, Venugopal Dhoot, in connection with alleged irregularities over the loans sanctioned to the group by ICICI bank. Earlier, on Friday, December 23, the former CEO-MD of ICICI bank, Chanda Kochhar, was arrested in the same case along with her husband.
Chanda Kochhar and her husband Deepak Kochhar are accused of allegedly cheating ICICI bank of Rs 1,730 crore during her time heading the bank.
Chanda Kochhar allegedly misused her position in the ICICI Bank and granted loans to Videocon group promoter Venugopal Dhoot in 2009 and 2011 amounting to 1,730 crores. In 2019, the CBI lodged an FIR against the Kochhar couple, Venugopal Dhoot, and others for allegedly cheating ICICI Bank.
Dhoot allegedly bribed the Kochhars in order to avail the loans from ICICI bank when Chanda Kochhar was heading the bank. At the time of FIR registration, CBI had alleged that there were irregularities in the loans granted to Videocon Group by ICICI from 2009 to 2011.
Days after approval of a loan to Videocon Group by ICICI, Chanda Kochhar’s husband, Deepak Kochhar, allegedly received funding of 64 crores from Venugopal Dhoot’s Videocon group. Enforcement Directorate mentioned that the funding was provided through a maze of shell companies.
It is notable that almost 86% of the 3250 crores loan to Videocon Group remains unpaid and was declared NPA in 2017. Both Deepak Kochhar and Venugopal Dhoot have been banned from foreign travel by authorities by issuing a Lookout Circular. Deepak Kochhar and the family members involved with the financial dealings of NuPower Renewables have been questioned several times by the CBI.
Both Chanda Kochhar and her husband have maintained their innocence throughout this saga, refusing any wrongdoing on their part. However, Chanda Kochhar had to step down from her position at the bank due to the increasing pressure over the multi-crore irregularities.
‘Liberals’ in India are a privileged lot. They can call everyone who disagrees with them names like ‘bhakt’, ‘Godi media’, ‘bigot’, ‘Islamophobe’ and get away with it. While in essence and by definition, ‘liberals’ are the ones who are supposed to be tolerant of other person’s point of view. But no, they’ll call you ‘Nazis’ or ‘Nazi enabler’ and cancel you just because they do not agree with your viewpoint.
Which is why next time, I want to be born as a ‘liberal’. So I can get away with fabricating documents, conjure up imaginary ‘dangerous’ apps with industrial grade spying abilities straight out of science fiction novels, trigger riots, murders over ‘blasphemy’ by ‘only reporting’ and whine on international platform that government is baying for my blood.
Or I could also go a step further and display my entitlement by creating an air that the government wants to ‘silence my courage’ and hence ‘bought’ the media house I was editor even if my bosses in all their sanity issued convertible debentures to a company, did not clear the debt and then the company exercised its right to convert the same into equity – all legally. Why let facts get into the way of insanity?
2022 started with the Omicron variant of COVID-19 scare. But that is not the only virus that has been plaguing India. When the Omicron scare was at its peak, The Wire published an article about an imaginary app called ‘Tek Fog’. The entire ‘Tek Fog’ ridiculousness was based on a bunch of tweets one anonymous, very likely, sock puppet, Twitter account ‘Aarthi Sharma’ who claimed to be disgruntled BJP IT cell worker.
The Wire had claimed their team comprising of one Devesh Kumar and one Ayushman Kaul, spent 18 hours ‘investigating’ the app, which they NEVER had access to. They solely relied on ‘screenshots’ provided by their ‘source’ – the ‘source’ they never met. Let that sink in. This superhuman app could hack into any and every device and hijack any and every conversation and ‘harass’ anyone they want. And this app was ‘developed’ by the BJP.
No one in The Wire team even once played the devil’s advocate. It could be one of the two things: they were so blinded by their hate they gave in to conformation bias or they knowingly published the dubious works by two random dudes, one of which had earlier claimed to have been running a ‘parallel IT cell’ to ‘manipulate anti-BJP trends’ because it furthered their narrative. Imagine publishing ridiculous fiction like this instead of seeking therapy and medical help.
This idiocy was lapped up by all and sundry and people like TMC MP Derek NoBrain O’Brien even brought it up in the Parliament. International media wrote multiple editorials and opinion pieces on what a dangerous game the BJP was playing. Except, BJP was being given credit for something they clearly had never created.
And if that was not enough, they then created another absurdity. They portrayed BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya as some all powerful supervillain who has incredible powers in digital world and with just one click he can get anything he wants removed. This, they claimed they had access to ‘Meta Insider’ who revealed all these details and ‘leaked’ internal communications. Sh*t hit the roof when Meta communications and security personnel both denied existence of any such list or ever having sent mails which The Wire claimed were authentic.
Things got so worse that even some people who had lapped up Tek Fog stupidity raised doubts over this Meta controversy and the whole thing came crashing down and The Wire had to withdraw the articles written on fabricated documents ‘pending internal inquiry’. The outcome of such ‘internal inquiry’ is not yet out and the ‘liberals’ actually hailed The Wire for ‘withdrawing’ the stories – instead of addressing the elephant in the room – they had published articles based on fabricated documents.
And not just that. Earlier this month, The Wire’s Siddharth Varadarajan, who took bylines for the Meta monstrosity, was given awards by Mumbai Press Club. Any other media house which did not have a left-leaning would have been destroyed for publishing stories based on fabricated documents. In fact, the same set of ‘liberals’ would have protested and returned their own awards they may or may not have paid for, in protest of being given such award after passing off absolute fiction as groundbreaking investigative journalism. But not The Wire. For The Wire, it is saat-sau chhiyasi khoon maaf.
This is liberal privilege.
Speaking of privilege, let me remind everyone about how ‘fact-checkers’ triggered riots, led to murders of innocent people by sharing one out of context clip and crying blasphemy. In May this year, BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, in debate with one maulana over mocking of Shivling found at disputed structure at Gyanvapi complex passed comments on Prophet Muhammad. Alt News’ Mohammed Zubair shared the clip without the portion where the maulana was making distasteful comments on the Shivling. Further, Zubair never really ‘fact-checked’ Nupur Sharma. He never shared correct version of the statements Sharma had made. But that one moment of virtue signalling and crying ‘Islamophobia’ has painted Nupur Sharma as a target. Blasphemy in Islam is punishable by death.
That Salman Rushdie was stabbed in New York earlier this year, over 30 years after he was accused of blasphemy for his book ‘The Satanic Verses’ believed to be a satirical take on Islamic scripture, just shows how once a target, always a target. Sharma will likely never be able to live a normal life. But Mohammed Zubair, who dogwhistled against Nupur, is being hailed as a brave voice. So brave he is that he is yet to tell exactly where Nupur Sharma was factually incorrect. Apparently, stating things written in your own scriptures is now ‘blasphemy’ if person you disagree with says it.
Oh, and remember The Wire and its Tek Fog absurdity? Well, The Wire minions had come up with one more article on Tek Fog after the whole Nupur Sharma controversy where they had claimed Zubair was ‘targeted’ by BJP IT Cell using ‘Tek Fog’ app. This, too, was lapped up by everyone. It’s like a perpetual victim chamber where if you do not like Modi, you are somehow always the ‘hunted’.
Speaking of victim chamber, how can one forget Rana Ayyub? The financial fraud accused Washington Post columnist who would cry Islamophobia on international platform but would be too afraid to condemn stabbing of Salman Rushdie. Ayyub, too, would never say it in as many words that ‘blasphemy’ should not be punished with death. Once there is legal sanction, the mob is very likely to take things in their own hands, oftentimes for the ‘glory’ one gets amongst their radical peers. We’ve seen how things have gone from bad to worse in Pakistan, which has very strict laws on blasphemy.
I’ll also tell you how Ayyub portrays herself to be a victim. If Ayyub thinks some of her tweet will likely invite some abuse, especially from Modi supporters, she will keep replies to her tweets on. Like her pinned tweet, where Washington Post published a full front page ad featuring her to cry freedom of press in India is under attack. She has tagged Washington Post and others at that company so that when someone replies with or without ‘abuses’ these people would also get alerts. You see, when they see their mentions are blown up from Indians sending abuses their way, it just makes her case stronger.
But her many other posts will not have replies option open, especially when influential people or people/organisations she doesn’t seek sympathy/’Indian Muslims are in danger’ tripe solidarity. Ayyub is not only too smart by half but also a privileged liberal. She could be accused of financial fraud, publish absolute lies, factually incorrect things and pass them off as ‘brave investigative journalism’ and still be a victim.
This is liberal privilege.
And while we’re talking about ‘brave’ and ‘courage’, let us not forget the latest ‘main apna favourite hoon’ YouTuber: Ravish Kumar. The man has issues.
Ravish Kumar Pandey thinks that Gautam Adani ‘bought’ shares in NDTV to ‘silence’ him. Hmm.
Okay, so earlier in November, New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV)’s promoter company RRPR Holding transferred 99.5% of its equity shares to Adani group owned Vishvapradhan Commercial (VCPL). The transaction was in consonance with a conversion notice which was issued by VCPL on 23 August, 2022.
On November 11, 2022, Adani group had announced it will launch an open offer to acquire an additional 26% of NDTV’s public shares. In August, Adani Enterprises Ltd’s subsidiary AMG Media Networks Ltd purchased Vishvapradhan Commercial Pvt Ltd (VCPL), which had lent Rs 403.85 crore to NDTV promoter business RRPR Holding Pvt Ltd in 2009 and 2010. Radhika Roy and Prannoy Roy were the owners of RRPR Holding.
RRPR provided warrants to VCPL in exchange for this interest-free loan, entitling it to convert them into a 99.9% share in RRPR. RRPR owned 29.18 percent of NDTV, hence Adani Group obtained a 29.18 percent stake in NDTV in this manner. Following the acquisition of VCPL for Rs 113.75 crore, the Adani Group declared an open offer to purchase another 26% interest in NDTV.
How did Adani come around to do this? Was it personal vendetta against Ravish Kumar? No. It is a business deal. In all fairness.
While the monetary troubles of NDTV began in 2004, their first shenanigan was their deal with General Atlantic Partners Investment (GA). That deal allegedly violated PIT (Prohibition of Insider Trading Regulations) and SAST (Substantial Acquisition of Shares & Takeover Regulations) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The details of that deal have been covered in detail by PGurus and can be read here.
In June 2008, the promoters of NDTV made an open offer for the shares of the company. To bankroll the open offer, they took a loan of Rs 540 crores from Indiabulls Financial Services Ltd by pledging their shares in NDTV as security. Four months later, in October 2008, NDTV promoters borrowed Rs 375 crores from the ICICI Bank Ltd at 19 per cent per annum to repay their loan obtained from Indiabulls Financial Services. To obtain the borrowing of Rs 375 crores, the promoters had encumbered their entire shareholding in NDTV through non-disposal undertakings with ICICI Bank, meaning although the shares of NDTV were owned by the promoters, they are at the same time subject to a legal claim by the ICICI Bank.
A few months later, in July 2009, NDTV promoters took another loan of Rs 350 crores from VCPL to repay ICICI Bank Ltd. RRPR, Dr Roy, Ms Roy and VCPL were signatories to the loan agreement. Through the agreement, RRPR Holding company secured Rs 350 crores which enabled it to discharge its liability towards ICICI Bank.
Vishvapradhan Commercial Private Limited (VCPL), is company incorporated in 2008. In 2009, it offered unsecured loan to NDTV’s holding company, Radhika Roy Prannoy Roy Holding Private Limited (RRPRH) worth Rs 403.85 crore. RRPRH held 29% equity in NDTV.
VCPL, in same year, had received unsecured loan from Shinano Retail Private Limited, which had obtained money from Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings Limited, a part of Reliance Group. Shinano Retail was a fully owned subsidiary of Reliance Group. Since these documents are publicly available and one assumes the legal team of the company as well as the Directors who one assumes are of sane mind, would carry out due diligence, NDTV was aware that it was obtaining unsecured loan from an entity that was linked to Reliance group. For its part, VCPL was owned by Shinano Retail and Teesta Retail Private Limited, another fully owned subsidiary of Reliance Group.
As one can see, it was a business deal. But Ravish Kumar saw this as an opportunity to play victim and get some brownie points from his peers who like to live in same echo chamber with misplaced sense of entitlement and cried that Adani carried out a very legally valid business deal to ‘silence’ him.
This is liberal privilege.
One can write reports based on fabricated documents, double down, cry victim and give too much importance to self and get away with it because they are ‘liberals’.
And here I am, a ‘bigoted bhakt’, who is not even followed by PM Modi or HM Shah on Twitter – even though this Gujarat model is currently in Delhi, just as they are.
