Following the historic passing of Citizenship Amendment Act, which gives citizenship to persecuted minorities of three neighbouring countries, the Jaisalmer district administration has organised a camp on Friday to help refugees from Pakistan to avail the citizenship of India, reports ANI.
According to the reports, the Jaisalmer district administration led by Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Om Prakash Bishnoi had organised the camp in which 15 refugees from Pakistan completed the procedures and formalities necessary to obtain the Indian citizenship rights.
SDM Bishnoi stated that such camps are frequently organised to bring all concerned departments under one platform. He said that the reporting and clearance process is controlled online by the Centre.
On Thursday, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 became an act of law after President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to the historic legislation.
Prior to this, both the houses of Parliament had passed the bill after the much-heated debate. The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill was passed by Rajya Sabha on Wednesday and by Lok Sabha on Monday.
The Citizenship Amendment act seeks to give Indian citizenship to the members of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities who have come from three neighbouring Islamic countries – Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh after facing religious persecution.
The Act states the refugees of the six communities will be given Indian citizenship after residing in India for five years, instead of earlier requirement of 11 years. The Act also proposes to give immunity to such refugees facing legal cases after being found as illegal migrants. The cut-off date for granting citizenship will be December 31, 2014.
The law will not be applicable to the tribal areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura as included in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. Further, the law will not cover the areas covered under the Inner Line Permit (ILP), notified under the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873. The ILP regime is applicable in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Mizoram.
We are all familiar with some version of this question. Hindus are nearly 80% in India. What do we have to worry about? Are Hindus a majority with a minority complex?
On the face of it, that seems like a good question, coming from the man who has sometimes been called India’s “Numero Uno historian,” along with a whole bunch of other careers that he is believed to be capable of. That question is right up there with other questions like “Why can’t the government just print money so that we can all be billionaires?” Or something like “Why doesn’t the earth fall?”
And just like those questions, this one shows a complete lack of sophistication or understanding of how things really work. Something that would be cute if a three-year-old were asking, but an adult could never get away with.
How did Hindus come to dominate ‘everything’ in India? Well, that’s because Hindus were chased out of every other corner of their historic homeland. Once upon a time, Hindus used to live in Lahore as much as they live in Delhi. Not any more. Those of us who are not pretend-historians might remember the mention of Rajtarangini from school. The book was written in Sanskrit by Kalhana in the 12th century and is an extensive account of the Hindu kings of Kashmir.
In case you haven’t noticed, Hindus don’t “dominate” Kashmir any more.
India’s National anthem, written by Rabindranath Thakur, mentions one province called Sind. Where is it? I can’t find it anywhere on the map of India. I suppose Hindus also “dominated” the place at some point. Then, they were chased out.
Don’t worry, intellectuals and pretend historians will soon argue that Sind was not a real place at all. Members of the Sindhi community in India will be described as claiming descent from something ‘mythical.’ You know, like the river Saraswati.
Then, there is “West Bengal,” a state whose name suggests that there might be an “East Bengal” somewhere. Where did it go? Did Hindus live there too? I appreciate the insistence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that the state should be renamed as “Banga” instead of the current “Paschim Banga.” Perhaps it is time to stop believing in the myth of East Bengal?
And yet, we Hindus are asked: you dominate everything in India. What are you worried about?

Now you could say: the crew have the ship under their command, they have the control of the engine room, the rudders, everything. What could the captain possibly have to worry about?
To understand this, you have to zoom out of the ship and see what surrounds it. That is when you realize that the ship is not even a speck of dust when compared to the vastness of the ocean that surrounds it.
You don’t understand what’s happening until you see the ship in the context of the ocean. Then, you know why the captain would be worried if the water is entering the ship through a hole.
Now think about India. This is India. Big country. And yes, it is dominated by Hindus.
But you don’t understand what’s really happening unless you see it in the context of this map.
Suddenly The Republic of India doesn’t seem so big any more. And you realize that Hindus have nowhere else to go!
And the boundaries of India have been closing in. The world’s largest Hindu temple is in Cambodia, not in India. The cities of Mohenjo Daro and Harappa, the cradle of Indus Valley Civilization, are no more in India. Taxila, the ancient seat of learning, is no more in India. Hindus have been purged from Kashmir. Hardly any Hindus live in lower Assam any more. Hindus in many villages of Western Uttar Pradesh are looking to leave their homes and move to ‘safety.’
The India that we see is only the current iteration of Bharat. Each iteration leaves us with a smaller, more diminished, India.
Liberals want us to see that we control the ship. They don’t want us to see the ocean that surrounds the ship. How foolish (and dangerous) is that? Imagine being on a ship, but being unaware of the ocean that is all around it. If this ship sinks, where do we go?
We have liberals on this ship who tell us to close our eyes and pretend that the ocean isn’t there. They tell us not to worry about the ocean because we have keys to the engine room on board! They say don’t be paranoid.
Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal is facing a huge law and order issue as Muslim mobs have gone on a rampage to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act, which grants citizenship to persecuted minorities of three neighbouring Islamic countries. As West Bengal descended into chaos after Muslim mob began to unleash riots in the state protesting against CAB, one of the residents of the state – Sankhadeep Shome who went through the horrific experience of these riots near Howrah has written a detailed post on how Muslim mobs unleashed barbarity in the name of protests.
Sharing his ordeal in a Facebook post, Sankhadeep Shome said that yesterday was a day which is unlikely to be ever erased from his memory as for the first time he found himself in the middle of a full-fledged riot and experienced fear. Blood-curdling fear, he added.

Shome narrated that he was on board UP Howrah-Chennai Central Coromandel Express which rolled into Uluberia station on the Howrah-Kharagpur section at around 3:20 pm on Friday. He stated that a large crowd of around 500-700 miscreants emerged from the “Jummah Namaz” at a mosque adjoining the station, who blocked the entire railway line at a level crossing outside the station.
It is important to note that Muslim mobs had gone on a rampage in West Bengal’s Howrah district. They resorted to extreme violence by blocking tracks at the Uluberia railway station. The Muslim mobs had vandalised the complex and some trains by resorting to stone pelting, injuring a driver, officials said. The violence affected train services in Sealdah division of the Eastern Railway.
According to Shome, a few of them were carrying ‘Oppose CAB and NRC’ posters. Then, he said, a massive crowd of rioters then descended on the station, including young boys barely in their 20s and some as young as 7 and 8 dressed in kurta pyjamas and skullcaps armed with rods and stones.
“First, they shattered all the window panes of an empty rake of Humsafar Express. Then they got to our train and started to pelt it with stones. The elderly were traumatized, the children crying. A stone shattered the glass window of the adjacent coupe. My heart pounded as I heard them screaming,” said Shome.
He added, “I saw them laughing sadistically as they poked the rods through the broken window panes to terrify the passengers. I ducked and stayed dead still. One stray stone, one swing of the rod is all it would take.”
Shome said that the state police were nowhere present at the spot at a time when Muslim mob was going on a rampage. A huge contingent of the RPF arrived from Howrah after half an hour of the incident, who pushed back the Muslim mob with relentless lathi charging and tear gas, he added.
“After a few broken legs and cracked skulls, the rioters again melted away into the slums by the railway line. When I finally emerged from the compartment after 4 hours of confinement, the station resembled a war zone. The locomotive was severely damaged and the loco pilot injured,” noted Shome while sharing his experience of an attack by Muslim mobs.
“You read about mob violence. You watch it on TV. You even romanticise it. Till the day it happens to you. It is then you realise that every single day is a gift,” cried Shome on his Facebook post.
In the state of West Bengal, many members belonging to various Muslim organisations have resorted to violent protests following the passing of the historic Citizenship Amendment Act (CAB).
Protests against the CAB were planned soon after Friday prayers across mosques in the State and other various parts of the country which has resulted in extreme violence in parts of West Bengal.
The Muslim mobs have pelted stones at public properties and policemen along with burning of railway infrastructure in the state. Mobs pelted stones on ambulances and torched several vehicles, A cop was injured in the violent protests against Citizenship Amendment Act.
A Twitter user today shared a viral video from TikTok on the microblogging site, wherein a Muslim man holding protests against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) Bill is seen using harsh, abusive and provocative language against PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.
The man who is protesting against the passing of CAB and NRC is heard saying that “….tum CAB aur NRC lakar hume desh se bahar nahi kar sakte. Uss samay Savarkar nahi aaye the ladne ko, humare ul Mae gramo ne is din ke liye nahi phasi ke phande ko chuma tha” roughly translated as [you cannot throw us out of the country by implementing CAB and NRC. That time Savarkar did not fight for India’s freedom it was our ‘Ulamas’ (scholars) who had laid their lives for India’s freedom]
He goes on to audaciously abuse the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Uttar Pradesh’s CM by saying: “Yeh Amit Shah or Modi ke baap ka Mulk nahi hain (this country is not Modi or Shah’s personal property), jo NRC ke jariye hume kehen rahen hain ki videshi hain, ghuspethia hain… (through the NRC bill they want to prove that either we are foreigners or intruders in our country).
Though the massacres and atrocities perpetrated by Muslims rulers in India are unparalleled in history, the protestor brazenly hails the era by saying that “we ruled the country for more than 800 years but the success never got into our head. This Modi and Shah, who have been in power for only five years have lost their mind..”
At this point, the man in the video crosses all levels of decency and goes on to call Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath “chilam khor” (drug addict) whereas insults Narendra Modi and Amit Shah by calling them “daru baaz” (alcoholic). He furthers that: “Amit Shah desh ka sabse bada goonda hain (calls the Home Minister, India biggest goon) jo che mahine tak tadipar raha hain (who has been a fugitive for six months). Koi bill lakar usko desh se bahar karna chaiye…” (A bill should be brought to first throw him out of the country), the man is heard saying the video.
In the protests against CAB, the protestor becomes even more brazen. He says: “what can be expected from a Prime Minister who has massacred more than 3000 people”, audaciously referring to the Godhra ‘hate crime’, which the Liberals and Muslims have still been using to malign the PM, despite the lie woven around the incident being busted time and again.
The man in the video is also heard giving a veiled threat saying: “if we (referring to his Muslim community) start showing our true colours than you will have no place to escape”.
Notably, while the Hindu refugees across the nation have been hailing and thanking PM Modi and Amit Shah for ending their atrocities by bringing in the Citizenship Amendment Bill, radicals like these have been spreading misinformation and hate across the nation. Most of the protests happening against the Bill are being hijacked by the Muslim groups who are unleashing extreme violence across the country.
A former Pakistani MP who fled religious persecution in Pakistan and migrated to India after being pressurised to convert to Islam was delighted to learn that the Indian parliament has legislated the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 (CAB) that seeks to grant citizenship to persecuted minorities in the neighbouring countries like himself.
In a report by Jagran, Divyaram, who was once an MP in Pakistan during the reign of Benazir Bhutto, and is currently earning his living in the Fatehpur district of Haryana by selling peanuts and kulfis has expressed hope and joy over the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Bill by the central government.
He said that the legislation of the CAB has given him and his family an opportunity to become legitimate citizens of India. After the passage of the bill, Divyaram is hopeful that his family would be able to secure a ration card and avail the subsidies and benefits provided by the government to its citizens.
Talking about his brief stint as the member of parliament in Pakistan, Divyaram revealed that during the Bhutto regime, he had given an approbatory speech welcoming Benazir Bhutto in his constituency. Impressed by his speech, Benazir made him a Member of Parliament through the reserve seats meant for minorities.
However, Divyaram laments that soon after he became an MP, disgruntled Muslims kidnapped a girl belonging to his family and threatened him to step down.
He further mentions that when the matter reached the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the SC judge asked him to either strike a compromise or convert his religion to put an end to the case. Following this, he tendered his resignation as MP and decided to migrate to India.
Divyaram, originally from Lahiya district of Punjab province of Pakistan, came to India with his family in January 2000 on a one-month visa. Initially, he lived in Kalanaur and Rohtak city of Rohtak district. When his visa expired, he appeared before the then Rohtak DC and pleaded that he and his family do not want to go to Pakistan under any circumstances.
At that time, members of Bajrang Dal and other Hindu organizations helped him in his rehabilitation. The Deputy Commissioner also allowed him to stay there. Later, in 2006, he moved from Rohtak to village Ratangarh near Ratia town of Fatehabad and is living there since last 13 years.
The 74-year-old Divyaram lives with his 12-member family. He also disclosed that he had to abandon his family-owned 25 bighas of land in Pakistan due to the harassment at the hands of the Muslim community and clerics. They would pressurize him into adopting Islam by asking him to consume beef. When he refused to embrace Islam, they started exploiting him.
Ever since Divyaram took refuge in India, he hoped that there would come a leader who would take cognisance of their pitiful situation and strive for their betterment. He is thankful to PM Modi that he brought the legislation for providing citizenship to thousands of persecuted minorities who fled their original country and are leading a difficult and uncertain life in India.

Prashant Kishor, who is currently the vice-president of Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), had shot into fame in 2014 after formulating a successful election strategy for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He subsequently ran successful campaigns for JD(U) in 2015 Bihar elections, for Congress in 2017 Punjab polls.
Earlier this year, Prashant Kishore’s Indian Political Action Committee had helped YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy ahead of the Andhra Pradesh assembly election campaign that held along with 2019 Lok Sabha elections. YSR Congress had swept both the state elections and Lok Sabha elections by winning 22 out of 24 seats from the state.
Alarmed by the rise of the BJP in the state, as evident in the number of Lok Sabha seats bagged by them, West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has also hired the services of Prashant Kishor for the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections.
Interestingly, Prashant Kishor and his political clients – Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal, have been strongly opposing the implementation of NRC and the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Prashant Kishor had come out in the open against JDU’s stand on the Citizenship Amendment Bill, stating that the bill was unconstitutional. Prashant Kishor had said that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill discriminates against the right of citizenship on the basis of religion.
Prashant Kishor had further attacked Nitish Kumar for maintaining that his party’s move to support the Citizenship Amendment Bill was not in sync with the Constitution of JD(U). On Friday, he had even claimed that the onus of saving the soul of India lies with the 16 non-BJP chief ministers who have to operationalise the amended Citizenship Act.
However, unhappy over his comments, the JDU has reportedly sent notices to Prashant Kishor along with other leaders for opposing party’s decision to support the bill.
In an election rally in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called upon Hindus to donate Rs 11 per family for the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya and also donate one brick per family for the construction of the temple at Ram Janmabhoomi. Considering the Ram Janmabhooomi movement has spanned centuries and has been the rallying point for Hindus, it is not surprising that Hindus would want to contribute to the building to a Grand Ram Temple at Ram Janmabhoomi. However, according to Times Now, this proposition was ‘bizarre and controversial’.

The very first sentence in the article too points to the same agenda. It says, “Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday stoked a new controversy when he requested Rs 11 and a stone from each family for construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He made the bizarre request during an election rally in Jharkhand”.
The Ram Janmabhoomi conflict was ongoing for almost 500 years with generations after generations fighting for the Hindu’s right on the birthplace of Lord Ram. Right from the Marathas to the Nath sampradaya, to which Yogi Adityanath belongs to the Karsevaks who were brutally murdered, the fight has been to build a Ram Mandir at the Ram Janmabhoomi which was earlier desecrated and a Mosque was built in its place.
Recently, the Supreme Court accorded the entire 67 acres land to Hindus and had granted a 5 acre alternate land to Muslims to construct their Mosque. The SC had said that a trust will be formed by the government that will oversee the construction of the Ram Temple. Further, the review petitions that were filed by various Muslim parties were recently thrown out by the Supreme Court thereby removing any roadblocks in the way of constructing a grand Ram Temple.
Since the Ram Temple is an emotive issue and one that strikes a chord with Hindus, one has to wonder what Times Now found controversial about Yogi Adityanath’s statement. In fact, several Hindus have been donating bricks with their names carved on it for the construction of the Ram Temple for decades as it is seen a religious belief among Hindus.
It has been the habit of mainstream media to create controversy where there exists none and this seems like just another attempt by Times Now.
Following the historic passing of the Citizenship Amendment Act, there have been protests in some parts of the country, which are being now hijacked by the Muslim groups and are unleashing extreme violence across the country. On Friday, the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAB) took a communal turn in Delhi after ‘students’ of the controversial Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University resorted to mob violence against the police officials and shouted Islamic slogans “Allah-o-Akbar” during their protests.
Reportedly, as the protests turned violent, 50 students were also detained after the stone-pelting.

Another video has surfaced where Jamia Millia Islamia University students can be seen raising ‘Allaho Akbar’ and ‘Nara-e-Taqbeer’ slogans. They are also heard saying, “Ye shahar zagmagaega, nur-e-la-illaha se, Ye desh zagmagaega, nur-e-la-ilaha se.Nara-e-takbir, Allahu Akbar”.
The ‘students’ of the Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi were also seen abusing police with provocative words as they used tear gas to disperse the violent mob.
In a video shared by retired news anchor Barkha Dutt, it can be heard that abusive and sexual slurs are being shouted against police officers while one of the violent protestors is also heard asking a fellow protestor not to let go the policemen.
In another video shared by one of the radical Islamic groups known as Tehzeeb Committee of Jamia Millia Islamia college, a ‘student’ can be seen making communal and provocative statements by claiming that ‘those who want to protect Muslims will have to protect Islam’. There were also several provocative statements that demanded Muslims to take to the streets. The “speech” was followed by a worrying slogan, “tera mera rishta kya, La ilahi illilah”. Similar statements were heard in Kashmir with respect to Pakistan by terrorists where they chanted “Pakistan se rishta kya, La ilahi illilah”.
Around 2,000 Jamia ‘students’ in Delhi were protesting against the CAB. The Jamia protesters against CAB had called for a march to Parliament House from the university campus to express their opposition to the legislation. However, they resorted to violence and broke police barricades.
As the police began to lathi-charge the students to calm down the situation, the protestors resorted to stone-pelting against these police officials. Several policemen have been injured in the mob attack of the students and three policemen are in critical condition in the ICU.

In no uncertain terms, Mamata Banerjee, the TMC supremo has announced that she will not allow the implementation of Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) and Registry for Citizens (NRC) in West Bengal.
The fear-mongering by Mamata Banerjee and TMC has come at a time when West Bengal has seen mobs turn violent protesting CAB right after the Friday prayers at Mosques.
The mobs were seen pelting stones on Ambulances and running trains in West Bengal. A cop was also injured in violent protests.

On Friday, Maldives’ Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed said that India has always been a safe haven for persecuted minorities and the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) was an internal matter of India.
According to the reports, Former Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed cited his own example of Indian high commission giving him refuge at a time when he was about to be arrested by then Maldives’ former president Abdulla Yameen.
“Religious persecution is wrong and India will always give refuge to those persecuted. When President Yameen wanted to arrest me and when I went to Indian High Commission they gave me refuge. They were quite willing to bring me to India too. Secularity of India, respecting minorities are founding ideas of India,” he said.
Mohamed Nasheed of Maldives also reiterated that the amended Citizenship Act (CAB) is an internal matter of India.
“I have complete trust in Indian democracy and whatever comes out from the process would be what the majority of people from India want. It is India’s internal matter. India is one of the safe havens for persecuted minority communities,” he said.

Speaking on the issue controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, Nasheed said that he recently tried to cross over to the Maldives from Malaysia but the island nation did not allow it
“He (Zakir Naik) was trying to come to the Maldives but we did not allow him to come,” former president of Maldives Nasheed, who is leading a parliamentary delegation to India, said.

Responding to issues regarding the discussion between Malaysia and Maldives on the extradition of Zakir Naik back, Nasheed said, “He was not allowed to come to the Maldives recently so there would have been discussions between Malaysia and Maldives”.
Islamist Zakir Naik, a Mumbai-born 53-year-old who is the founder of the controversial ‘Peace TV’ has been living in Malaysia since 2017 after fleeing from India and the previous government there had granted permanent residency to him. India is seeking extradition of the radical Islamic scholar.
Zakir Naik is a fugitive in India, is wanted in India for serious charges related to terrorism after his name cropped in connection with a ghastly terror attack at Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka on July 2016.
