Akhilesh Yadav defends Azam Khan’s Khaki underwear remark on Jaya Prada

A day after senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and Lok Sabha candidate Khan made highly derogatory remarks about BJP Lok Sabha candidate Jaya Prada, SP President Akhilesh Yadav has come out in support of Khan instead of condemning it. While speaking at a public rally, Yadav said that Khan was talking about someone else and not Jaya Prada and that Samajwadis do not use such language for women. Hum Samajwadi loh hain. Kabhi bhi hum mahilaon k prati aur betiyo k prati, kabhi bhi koi bhasha galat istemaal nahi kar sakte hain” (We are Samajwadis. We can never use bad language for women and daughters).

During an election rally yesterday, Khan had attacked Prada by making sexist remarks against her. The Rampur MLA, in a single breath, swore on his late mother denying the allegations levelled by Prada against him and then went on to say that within 17 days he had recognised that the colour of her (Prada’s) underwear was Khaki (suggesting that Prada had RSS links).

After facing backlash for making such shameless remarks, he denied having made those remarks against Prada and said that he did not take anyone’s name. He even said that if anyone could prove that he named anyone, he would not contest the election.

An FIR has been filed against Khan by the UP POlice for his misogynist remarks against Prada and a case has been registered under section 509 of the IPC. The National Commission of Women (NCW) has also taken suo moto cognisance of the matter and has written to the Election Commission to take strict action.

Azam Khan did not spare the even media persons who had quested about his comment, and displayed his arrogance by making personal attacks against them. Khan was in Vidisha to attend the last rites of former Rajya Sabha MP of Samajwadi Party, Munawwar Salim who passed away earlier today.

When media persons stopped him to ask questions, he replied, “apke vaalid ki maut mein aya tha” (I came here to attend your father’s funeral), which sounded as if he was suggesting that Samajwadi Party leaders are media’s baaps.

Kabhi haan kabhi naa: Rahul Gandhi and Kejriwal’s lovers’ quarrel over AAP-Congress alliance

The AAP Congress love story has been running through more twists and turns than most Indian daily soaps since months. After Kejriwal’s ‘Lagbhag Mana Kar Diya’ announcement, there have been numerous statements, photo-ops and counter statements from both parties going full-fledged at a ‘She loves me/she loves me not’ type scenario.

After repeated desperate attempts by Kejriwal and other AAP leaders, finally, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has spoken openly about the secret romance. Rahul has stated on Twitter that Congress is ready for an alliance. However, keeping true to the traditions of daily soap scripts, he has added a veiled allegation that it is Kejriwal who is doing U-Turns.

Rahul has claimed that an alliance between Congress and AAP will rout BJP in Delhi and has stated that Congress was ready to give up 4 out of 7 seats in Delhi. He has also added that the time is running out.

AAP chief Kejriwal has also hit out at Rahul immediately with an even more melodramatic Tweet. Kejriwal has called Rahul’s love ‘fake’.

Kejriwal and recently his deputy Manish Sisodiya have been literally begging Congress for an alliance for weeks now. But senior Congress leader and former CM Sheila Dixit had stated that there will be no alliance with AAP.

On March 18, AAP had declared that Congress had taken too long to respond and there will be no alliance with the party.

Rahul’s tweet makes it clear that now that Congress’ masters have spoken, an alliance might happen after all. looking at the desperate corner both Congress and AAP have been driven into, even though both parties might accuse each other of U-turns, we may still see an alliance before the May 12 elections.

Goa BJP unit moves Election Commission to file a complaint against a Catholic priest for hate speech against the party

The BJP unit in Goa has approached the Election Commission to file a complaint against a Catholic priest for allegedly giving hate speeches against the BJP. In its complaint, BJP has alleged that the priest has been deliberately trying to stir an atmosphere of hate and fear against the party. The Goa BJP unit has also demanded an investigation against the priest.

In addition to this, the BJP unit in Goa has also submitted a CD containing the alleged hate speech to the Election Commission. The BJP has alleged that the priest is instigating people against the party by spreading falsehoods and indulging in fear-mongering and has urged the Election Commission to look into the matter and initiate action against the priest for purportedly delivering hate speech. The complaint was lodged by BJP General Secretary Vishnu Naik.

In a video of the priest that has come to fore recently, he can be heard saying that the BJP people have poured petrol on children and burnt them alive. He said, “Petrol was poured on Christian children and they were burnt. They were told to stop taking Jesus’ name. But the children continued to take the name of the Jesus, even when their skin melted with the fire. This is the BJP.”

The Christian Padre had also made unfounded allegations against the BJP President Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi. Regarding Modi, he alleged that he had set thousands of Muslims on fire including a Member of Parliament. The priest called Amit Shah a ‘satan’ and claimed that Shah used to arrest Muslim youngsters and shoot them down.

As a part of his false propaganda, the Padre also promoted fictional stories by stating, “For 500 years under Portuguese rule, Hindus, Muslims and Christians lived in peace’” omitting the Goan Inquisition which is believed to be one of the most ruthless and barbaric ever.

NSUI workers welcome Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot with a garland of lemons and chillies

In a strange gesture, the workers of the NSUI union welcomed the Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot in Bhilwara with a garland of lemon and chilies. Ashok Gehlot was in Bhilwara for election events.

In one such event, CM Ashok Gehlot was greeted with a garland of lemons and chillies so that chief minister remains shielded, lest someone cast an evil eye on him. The crowd went berserk watching their chief minister wearing a garland of lemons and chilies. CM Ashok Gehlot held several rallies in Bhilwara, Gangapur, and Thanagaji of Alwar in support of the Congress candidates from these areas.

Raising the familiar bogey of the constitution in danger, he urged the voters to vote against the Modi government and alleged that the Modi government has been misusing CBI, ED, RBI, and other institutes. Gehlot also accused the BJP of distributing money to its candidates to fare well in the elections.

Stone pelters attack Mehbooba Mufti’s motorcade in Anantnag

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti’s motorcade was attacked by stone pelters in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. Mufti was returning from a shrine there after paying homage.

The former J&K Chief Minister had gone to visit a shrine at Khirram in Anantnag district to pay homage. When she was returning to Bijbehara form the shrine, her cavalcade came under heavy stone-pelting. Though Mufti escaped the attack unharmed, a spare vehicle in her cavalcade was damaged by the stone-pelting and the driver was also injured.

Mufti is contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Anantnag constituency. Recently a case was filed against Mufti along with National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah in a Bihar court following their provocative comments about revoking of Articles 35A and 370.

Mufti had threatened the BJP after the party committed to repealing Articles 35A and 370 in its 2019 manifesto, that if they repeal these provisions, the whole country would burn along with the State of J&K. Calling Article 370 a bridge between J&K and India, she had said that if the bridge is broken why would a Muslim-majority State want to stay with India.

Speaking on similar lines, Farooq Abdullah had said, “They will bring outsiders to settle in Kashmir, they want to do away with Article 370. I swear by Allah, even Allah wants us to see us liberated from them. I will see how India’s flag is hoisted here”.

Mufti is also a known Separatists’ sympathiser, she stood in defense of Jamat-e-Islami and Hurriyat leaders when security forces carried raids on the separatists and arrested many of them.

Vivek Agnihotri’s The Tashkent Files would be a crime to miss

From the Director Vivek Agnihotri who directed movies like Chocolate, Zid and the controversial Buddha In A Traffic Jam, the gritty ‘The Tashkent Files’ with stellar star-cast would be a crime to miss. The Tashkent Files is about the unsolved mystery of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri’s death with no political overtones.

Agnihotri has come up with a gripping storyline based on well-researched and hard hitting facts with the presentation which is rich. It proves yet again that content and screen play is king in film industry. The unique and thrilling story keeps you guessing as one can see that the Director is in complete control of the subject and he doesn’t even let the attention of the audience dwindle even for a moment.

The Tashkent Files is not just a movie, it’s a tale where the story begins with a rookie journalist who is looking for a spoof to get a break through in her career. She gets a call from an unknown person who gives her a task to expose the mysterious death of Lal Bahadur Shastri. During that journey of solving the mysterious death, with hard hitting facts she exposes how corrupt is our ecosystem which has been playing with our real history.

The dialogues are well written, the script is above average and screenplay makes it lot better. Cinematography is the main strength of the entire movie. Editing is crisp, costumes were well designed as per the characters, the background score is incredible with no songs in the movie.

Shweta Basu Prasad, the lead actress a rookie journalist who is well involved in her character throughout the movie, takes away the entire attention. She manages to make her own space in presence of other stellar star-cast, the first one being by none other than the lengend himself Mithun Daa. And yet again, no words for Mithun Daa, there is no role which can’t play. His subtle acting as a politician is impeccable. The second one, again no words, fantastic acting from Naseeruddin Shah as a politician, he is in his true class. Pallavi Joshi and Pankaj Tripathi are absolute delight to watch, both are terrific and completely justify their own characters.

If the first half of the film goes about layering the content, the second half is intense and fast moving that leaves all of us spellbound. Technically the movie is great in all aspects. The entire cast does a great justice to their characters to make it one of the finest piece of movie based on hard hitting facts.

You will have goosebumps throughout the movie on how it exposes the ecosystem and the exposure of the murder of Lal Bahadur Shastri. The climax will be an eye opener for many but that is how Vivek Agnihotri keeps the audience guessing and occupied.

Though the movie is going through controversies, it is indeed a commendable effort by the makers. Overall it’s a movie which is sensible with deep facts and at the box office this would appeal to the targeted audience and has extremely high chances of becoming a block buster.

I’ll give it a 4/5 stars.

Election Commission bars Yogi Adityanath and Mayawati from campaigning for making communal speeches

The Election Commission of India on Monday had barred UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BSP supremo Mayawati and from campaigning in elections for two days and three days respectively from April 16, for making a communally provocative speech.

The Election Commission has banned UP CM Yogi Adityanath for 72 hours and BSP chief Mayawati for 48 hours starting from 6 am tomorrow, for violating Model Code of Conduct by making objectionable statements in their speeches.

The Election Commission of India has also found BSP Chief Mayawati to have made a communal appeal for votes. The ban is imposed invoking powers of ECI under Article 324 of the Constitution of India, after observing that the leaders had violated the Model Code of Conduct.

At a public rally at Deoband on April 7, Mayawati was openly polarising votes by asking Muslims not to split their vote between Congress and SP-BSP alliance and rather consolidate their vote in favour of the alliance candidate. The Commission had noted her statements and later found that she had appealed to secure votes on religious lines violating the Model Code of Conduct.

The ECI had also issued a show-cause notice to Yogi Adityanath after he had allegedly used the word ‘virus’ in reference to Indian Union Muslim League, and for invoking the name of ‘Bajrang Bali’ during a public rally at Meerut on April 9. he had said that if the Congress, SP and the BSP had faith in “Ali”, then BJP also have faith in “Bajrang Bali”.

Earlier, the Election Commission had warned UP CM to be careful with his choice of words, as it had found that his ‘Modiji ki Sena’ comment had violated the MCC.

Thiruvananthapuram: Shashi Tharoor injured during temple ritual, gets stitches on head

Senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament from Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency, Shashi Tharoor today fell down from a weighing scale at Gandhari Amman Kovil temple in Thampanoor while making a ‘Thulabharam’ offering at a temple. The weighing scale on which he was sitting broke down and hit Tharoor on his head.

Tharoor was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for preliminary treatment and from there he was shifted to a super-specialty hospital. According to some reports, Tharoor got 6 stitches while some say that he got 11 stitches. Doctors have said that he is out of danger.

Following his injury, he had to postpone an election rally which was scheduled to happen on Monday. Tharoor had kick-started his election campaign on April 11 by performing a ‘Thulabharam’ of bananas in Kazhakoottam constituency.

Tharoor who is a sitting MP from Thiruvananthapuram has been elected twice from the same constituency and is contesting for the third time. BJP’s Kummanam Rajasekharan, the former governor of Mizoram, will be contesting against Tharoor in the constituency.

Tharoor is undergoing a trial in his wife Sunanda Pushkar’s murder case in which he has been named as an accused. He has been charged with abetment of suicide and cruelty.

The mythical ‘dayan’ of Kishtwar and the eating away of the Indian state

Two dastardly events happened on 9th April 2019, just two days before the General Elections in which the BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is widely expected to return to office with an even bigger majority than in 2014.

First, Islamic terrorists shot RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma, while on duty as a medical assistant in the District hospital in Kishtwar. Terrorists barged into the hospital and shot at him, inflicting serious injuries. The terrorists also snatched the weapon from his PSO, Rajinder Kumar, belonging to Jammu & Kashmir Police. In the ensuing scuffle, the PSO was shot dead on the spot. Sharma was taken to Jammu Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Sharma was Sah Prant Sewa Pramukh of RSS in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the second incident five persons, including a BJP MLA lost their lives when Naxal terrorists ambushed the convoy of BJP in Dantewada in Bastar region Chhattisgarh. BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi, his driver and three security personnel died in the attack.

Both incidents are not isolated, as some might wish to believe. They are part of a larger conspiracy that has been eating away at the Indian state from the time Arab armies arrived at our Western geographical boundaries, followed by Mongols, Persians, Afghans (all representing Islam).

These hordes were, in turn, replaced by Christian armies from Europe; and after 1917, joined by the Communists from Russia and China. All these marauding hordes had only one goal in view: to conquer and loot the most prosperous nation on Earth, and to spread their religions. Even Communism (Marxism/Maoism) etc., are treated like religions by their adherents.

Although I come from Kashmir and have lived in the state for the first twenty years of my life, I have never been to Kishtwar. It was a region too remote from Srinagar or Jammu with no proper roads connecting it to the main cities. As we would travel from Srinagar to Jammu or back, we could see some milestones identifying the turnoffs for Doda, Bhadrawah and Kishtwar. These milestones were the only physical signs of the existence of this region.

Remote regions breed myths and Kishtwar was no exception. There was this myth of the Dayan (commonly understood as a witch or ogress) who was supposed to be the inhabitant of Kishtwar and who would prey upon young and handsome men who had the misfortune of being marked by her.

A distant relative of ours, working for the state government, was transferred to Kishtwar, where apparently he became the victim of a Dayan. He started to waste away and soon became a mere skeleton. His family brought him back to Srinagar where the doctors were unable to diagnose his ailment. I have heard that a kite used to come every day and sit on the windowsill of his room.

Eventually, he died in great pain and agony. The family believed that the Kishtwari Dayan had consumed parts of him when he was in Kishtwar and later when he was shifted to Srinagar; the Dayan followed him in the form of a kite to complete the job.

There is also the story of Maharaja Pratap Singh, the Dogra ruler of Kashmir, who had a Dayan brought from Kishtwar to his Durbar, where he ordered her to demonstrate her powers. She asked him to keep an apple on a table in the middle of the hall. Apparently, after a few moments when the apple was picked up, it was found to have been consumed from within, leaving the peel intact. I don’t know what the king did to this woman, as there is no record of the event, except in the oral folklore of Kashmir.

It seems obvious to me that most of the supposed victims of the Dayan were either suffering from tubercular consumption or from cancer that had not been fully understood by medical science at that time and place. But why the creatures were linked only to Kishtwar is not clear? Perhaps some Kishtwaris can throw some light on this mystery.

In the history of Kashmir, there was a Queen named Didda, the daughter of the Lohar Sardar Simharaj, who married Khemgupta, the Emperor of Kashmir. Kalhan’s description of Didda in the “Rajtarangini” is rather mixed. After the death of her husband in 958 AD, Didda ruled as the Regent of her son and grandson until 980 AD and thereafter as the Empress of Kashmir until her death in 1003 AD. During these 45 years of her rule, she saw her sons and grandsons die and there are some doubts as to whether these were natural deaths. She entered into a number of liaisons with courtiers and warriors and in her insecurity had many of her confidants put to death. I am not sure if later legends morphed Didda into the mythical Dayan of Kishtwar.

What history has recorded is that the last Hindu King of Kashmir, before the advent of Islamic rule, was Sehdev, who ascended the throne in 1301 AD. Twenty years after his accession, a Tartar adventurer, Dulchu Khan, attacked Kashmir with an army of 70000 soldiers. Sehdev fled to Kishtwar, his father-in-law’s kingdom, and left his subjects to the mercy of the invader.

Dulchu Khan ransacked and burnt Kashmir, ordered genocide, and took more than 50,000 Brahmins as slaves. However, it seems that while crossing the Devsar pass, his entire caravan of soldiers and slaves was killed by avalanches. Sehdev abdicated his throne, and Ramachandra, his Chief of the Army, proclaimed himself as king. Rinchin, a Ladakhi refugee whom Sehdev had given shelter and a position of prominence, rose in revolt against Ramachandra and tricked him into a truce, during which he was assassinated. In order to placate the restless population, Rinchin married Ramachandra’s daughter Kotarani and tried to convert to the Hindu faith from his Buddhist religion.

However, the Brahmins of Kashmir refused to accept his conversion and instead derided him saying that one could not become a Hindu; one had to be born into the religion. Rinchin’s anger at this rejection found him listening sympathetically to the preaching of Bulbul Shah, a mendicant from Persia, who was then spreading the message of Islam. Rinchin adopted Islam as his faith, and as Malik Sadruddin became the first Muslim ruler of Kashmir.

Kishtwar, however, continued to be an independent kingdom, ruled by Rajputs, and it was only after the Mughal Emperor Jahangir’s armies subdued Kishtwar in 1620 AD that Islam began to grow roots in this soil, through the preaching and precepts of Sufi saints and faquirs.

However, the Pakistan-inspired insurgency from 1989 has resulted in the replacement of the indigenous Sufi culture of Kashmiri Islam by the imported harsh version of the Wahabi culture. The strain on the fabric of the centuries-old culture of harmonious co-existence has crossed the breaking point and today Kashmir has become a tinderbox ready to explode at the slightest provocation.

Kashmir has seen many pogroms against the Hindus in the past, but these were mostly inspired by bigoted rulers. Most ordinary Kashmiri Muslims were too poor to undertake such murderous activities, a situation that remained unchanged until the 1980s. The almost 100 per cent exodus of the Pandits and other minorities from the valley, after 1989, was achieved through coercion, open intimidation, and targeted murder – activities in which a large proportion of the local Muslim population willingly participated.

It may be politically correct to put the blame for most atrocities on Pakistani terrorists and the ISI, but the role of the majority of the local Kashmiri Muslims in supporting the perpetrators actively and passively cannot be wished away. Narendra Sehgal, in his “Converted Kashmir; Memorial of Mistakes” writes:

After having ruined the heavenly land of Kashmir, Pakistan trained militants have marched successfully towards Doda district of Jammu region. As a result of population proportion and the directionless policy of Government of India, this region too has been engulfed by the fire of separatism. Killings of the Hindus, their migration, attack on police posts and direct encounters with the Army are taking firm roots in the area. Doda after Kashmir and then Jammu, it is part of a definite anti-national conspiracy hatched by Pakistan. All these anti-national activities, sabotage and subversion, take place in broad daylight.

At present, the Muslims in this area constitutes about 55% of the population, but the influence they wield through openly Islamic governments in the state is highly disproportionate to their numbers. The strategy that was so successfully implemented in the valley to drive the Pandits out has seen a repetition in the Districts of Doda and Kishtwar, and depending upon its success, will be introduced in Jammu. The intentions of the insurgents are not hidden. They are openly displayed by them with slogans written on the walls that read: “Kashmir Hindu say khali hai – ab Doda ki bari hai – “Azadi” – Al- Jehad, JKLF ka kya paigam? Jammu Kashmir banega Dar-ul-Islam.

The last riots in Kishtwar on 9th August 2013 that started on a Friday after the Eid prayers were a manifestation of the same sinister plan – to drive the Hindus and other minorities out of their homes in the areas south of the Pir Panjal range and to push Kashmiri Muslims into the vacant spaces left behind by the fleeing populations. This is a classic Chinese manoeuvre, using the ethnic majority Han Chinese to change the demography of Tibet and Xinjiang.

Manmohan Singh’s Government, like King Sehdev’s, having abdicated its responsibility, abandoned the Hindus of Kashmir and their fate was handed over to a partisan state administration that openly espoused the cause of the separatists. Omar Abdullah’s Home Minister, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, who hails from Kishtwar, slapped a senior Government employee at the Tourist Reception Centre in Kishtwar on 19th August, just before the CM’s visit to the region. Not only did he slap him three times, but he also had his security personnel to thrash the poor unfortunate in full view of the police officers present. The employee was the Chief Executive Officer of Kishtwar and his crime was that he was not present at the Tourist Reception Centre when this probable descendent of Dulchu Khan appeared on the scene. This incident epitomized the behaviour and attitude of Omar Abdullah and his minions.

The central and state governments imposed a complete blackout on news from the disturbed area. BJP leader Arun Jaitley was stopped at the Jammu airport and not allowed to proceed to Kishtwar. The complicit media channels reported that there were only two deaths in the rioting on Friday, while reports from Jammu indicated that more than 50 Hindus had been killed and hundreds injured. Local papers reported the Hindus saying that they were contemplating migration since the government was unable and unwilling to protect them. This is exactly what the separatists wanted!

The replication of the Kashmir valley strategy has borne fruit in Doda and Kishtwar. Congress and its supporters in the media continue to believe that there is no alternative to keeping on conducting a friendly dialogue with Pakistan. These pathetic pacifists have no compunctions when a hatred-indoctrinated soldier from Pakistan butchers our jawans at the LOC. But for the entire duration of the UPA, they never failed to defend a failed Prime Minister who had lost his sharm years ago in Egypt.

The elections of 2014 put a temporary halt to this strategy, as Pakistan redoubled its murderous efforts in the valley while giving some respite to the Doda/Kishtwar area. The Muftis and the BJP came together to form a Government in the state, and for a while, it seemed to work. The death of Mufti pitchforked his daughter into the CM’s seat. Inexperienced and extremely temperamental it was a matter of time before the alliance broke down. In August 2018 the state Government was dismissed and Governor’s rule imposed. Mehbooba Mufti immediately went on the offensive against her ex-partners and displayed extreme intolerance towards India, Modi and the BJP. Now that General Elections are once again upon us, Mehbooba has joined hands with the Abdullahs, the Congress and the separatists in promoting open secession from India, warning that the whole country would burn if Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution were interfered with.

Kishtwar’s mythical Dayan seems to have found new life and is frantically making up for the lost opportunities after that alleged demonstration of her powers before Maharaja Pratap Singh. A slashed ear has probably given her a personal motive for extreme revenge. With renewed hatred and intensity she is eating the core of Kashmir while some of us see only the unblemished peel. I have heard from my elders that Maharaja Pratap Singh was an enlightened ruler and he must have somehow managed to put the Dayan into the bottle and tightly corked it shut. But, there seems to be a new Didda come to life, who, in order to perpetuate her rule, has uncorked the bottle and let loose this ogress upon the hapless Hindus of Jammu and Kashmir.

Months before Rahul Gandhi declared his candidature from Wayanad, official Twitter account for his Wayanad office was already active

A few weeks back, state Congress leaders in southern India were seen desperately urging Rahul Gandhi to fight from a supposedly ‘safe seat’ in their states as a face-saver, should he lose Amethi to Smriti Irani. Sensing an imposing challenge Smriti Irani had mounted for him in Amethi, Rahul obliged to his senior leaders and agreed to fight the elections from Wayanad seat, apart from Amethi. On April 4, Rahul Gandhi filed nomination from Wayanad.

However, though the decision of Rahul Gandhi fighting from the ‘safe seat’ of Wayanad was declared just a few days ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, an official Twitter account dedicated to Rahul Gandhi’s Wayanad office was created in September 2018 itself.

Official Twitter handle of Rahul Gandhi’s Wayanad office

The official Twitter account of Rahul Gandhi’s Wayanad office is @RGWayanadOffice, which is a verified Twitter account with a blue tick. This means that this account is actually run by Rahul Gandhi’s election office in Wayanad, and not an imposter account. A cursory glance of the Twitter account reveals that the account was in existence since September 2018. This makes one wonder whether Rahul Gandhi had already considered losing Amethi as a foregone conclusion and decided to contest from another seat six months ago? The account’s existence since September 2018 suggests that, perhaps, the Congress leadership along with Rahul Gandhi must have decided in advance about Rahul Gandhi’s electoral battle from the ‘safe seat’ of Wayanad in September 2018 itself.

Another noteworthy fact is what while Rahul Gandhi is contesting from two seats in the Lok Sabha elections, only Wayanad officer has a dedicated official Twitter account, there is no such Twitter account for Amethi, which Rahul Gandhi is representing for the last 15 years.

The Wayanad office Twitter account’s September 2018 origin also insinuate that the recent clamouring from the state Congress leaders of southern units may be subject to a well-orchestrated chain of events designed to feign authenticity in their demands for the Congress President to fight from one of the ‘safe-seats’ in their states and play down the Smriti Irani factor which is reputedly considered as the primary reason for Rahul Gandhi’s southern India retreat.
