Unfounded and malicious: Tejaswini Ananthkumar calls out fake NOTA campaign that used her name

On Sunday, Tejaswini Ananthkumar, wife of late BJP leader Ananthkumar has clarified that she has not supported any campaign to vote for NOTA in Bengaluru (South) constituency in the Lok Sabha elections.

Reportedly, a malicious campaign was doing rounds in Bangalore South constituency after a poster of Tejaswini Ananthkumar became viral in which it was claimed that she was asking people to ‘vote’ NOTA instead of BJP candidate Tejasvi Surya.

However, Tejaswini has now responded to the poster saying that the posters being circulated in her name was “unfounded and malicious”. “It came to my knowledge that somebody is spreading rumours that I am asking people to vote for NOTA. This is unfounded and malicious. For me it’s VOTE BJP Modi Again National First,” tweeted Tejaswini Ananthkumar.

Tejaswini Anantkumar, a social activist, was tipped to be the BJP candidate in the prestigious Bangalore South Lok Sabha constituency but the party fielded BJP youth leader Tejasvi Surya.

Some detractors of the BJP had begun rumour mongering that Tejaswini Anantkumar was unhappy about being denied a ticket and will not be participating in the campaigning for the BJP candidate. However, Tejaswini Ananthkumar has backed Tejasvi Surya as BJP candidate for the upcoming elections and has also been involved in the campaigns.

The malicious attempt to derail the campaigning of the BJP candidate Tejasvi Surya has been going since his name was announced by the party. Following the announcement of Tejasvi Surya’s candidature for Bangalore South Lok Sabha seat for the BJP, members of Congress IT cell had descended upon him, attacking him for performing the Ayudhya Puje as per the Hindu traditions.

‘Draupadi being disrobed in Rampur’: Sushma Swaraj seeks ‘Bhishma Pitahmah’ Mulayam Yadav’s response on Azam Khan’s remark

Drawing a similarity between ‘Draupadi’ of Mahabharata and former Samajwadi leader Jaya Prada and comparing ‘Bhishma Pitahmah’ to Mulayam Singh Yadav, EAM Sushma Swaraj on Monday sought a response from the SP patriarch on the ‘Khaki underwear’ comment made by his party leader Azam Khan against veteran actor and Rampur BJP candidate Jaya Prada.

Referring to Draupadi’s cheer-haran (disrobing), a scene from epic Mahabharata, Sushma Swaraj urged Mulayam Singh not to remain silent on the outrageous comment made by his party leader Azam Khan.

‘Mulayam Bhai – You are the father figure of Samajwadi Party. In front of you, Draupadi is being disrobed in Rampur. Do not make the mistake of being silent like Bhishma. @yadavakhilesh Smt. Jaya Bhaduri, Mrs Dimple Yadav,’ she tweeted in Hindi.

Azam Khan, known for his sexist and obnoxious comments, while addressing a poll campaign rally in his parliamentary constituency Rampur on Sunday, made an outrageous comment on Jaya Prada saying, “Uski asliayat samajhne me apko 17 baras lagey. Main 17 din me pehchan gaya ke inke niche ka jo underwear hai woh khaki rang ka hai (It took 17 years for you to recognise her reality. But it took me only 17 days to recognise that the colour of her underwear is Khaki)”. Khan said this trying to suggest that Prada had links with the RSS from the beginning and the allegations against him were an RSS conspiracy.

Continuing his attack on Prada in the presence of SP President and former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav, he said that he had introduced Prada to Rampur holding her fingers and made sure that no one even got closer to her or said something bad about her. “Kisi ka Kandha nahi lagne diya uske shareer se, chhoone nahi diya, gandi baat nhi karne di”, he said.

In the latest development, the police have lodged an FIR against Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan for his objectionable ‘khaki underwear’ comment against actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also condemned the incident calling it unfortunate and said that the remark speaks volume about the culture and mindset of SP members.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken cognisance of the sexist remark made by Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and sent a notice to him.

NCW chairperson said that Khan always says dirty things about women and in this election, this is his second statement he has given against women politician. The NCW has taken a suo moto against him and has even written to the Election Commission to take strict action against him.

Jaya Prada, the apparent target of an outrageous comment by former colleague-turned-rival candidate Azam Khan of the Samajwadi Party, said today that he should not be allowed to contest elections for the sake of democracy and for women. “Should I die? Then will you be satisfied,” the former actor and BJP candidate from Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur said today.

Meanwhile, asserting that he did not take any names the SP leader said he would withdraw his candidature from the ongoing polls if proved guilty.

Giving an explanation for his audacious remark Khan said, “I have said that people took time to know real face in reference to a man once said that he brought 150 rifles with him and if he sees Azam, he would have shot him dead. My leaders also did a mistake. Now, it has been revealed that he has an RSS pant on his body. Short is worn by men,” further he added, “I was a nine-time MLA from Rampur and been a minister. I know what to say. If anyone proves that I have named anyone and insulted anyone by name. If it is proved, I will step back from the elections.”

Khan has blamed the media of misrepresenting and distorting his comment.

Prior to this controversial comment, Azam Khan at the public rally outrightly denied the allegations levelled by Jaya Prada against him a day before. He even swore on his late mother saying that none of the allegations was true. But the next moment he proved himself wrong by making a highly derogatory remark against Prada.

Prada had called the sitting MLA of SP from Rampur, Azam Khan as the reason behind her leaving Rampur. The veteran actor-turned-politician said that she had even complained to Mulayam Singh that her morphed pictures were being circulated in Rampur and had asked for his help but no leader came out in her support to save her. And therefore she had to leave Rampur.

Jaya Prada has been on the receiving end of sexist and misogynist remarks since she joined the BJP. Last month, Azam Khan‘s close aide named Firoz Khan had used similar language for Prada saying that the residents of Rampur would remain entertained and their evenings would be ‘colourful’ because Jyada Prada would be visiting the district frequently for campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections.

Jaya Prada who was earlier in SP had alleged that Azam Khan had attempted an acid attack on her and she was not certain whether she would be alive the next day.

Watch movie before taking decision on its release: SC to Election Commission on PM Modi biopic

The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Election Commission of India to watch the PM Narendra Modi movie and then take a decision on whether the movie should be allowed to release or not. The apex court has asked the Election Commission to provide its view on the movie by April 22 in a sealed envelope.

Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi appearing for the producers contended that the EC took a cue from SC order and banned it without even watching the film. Following which the SC asked the Election Commission to watch the movie and then take a call on whether the movie should be banned or not. The matter was adjourned by the court till then.

Earlier, the Election Commission had stalled the release of the film stating threat to ‘level playing field’ and ‘free and fair elections’. In its order, EC stated that ‘political contents’ depicted in the movie could pose a serious threat to the level playing field as it may create an impression of the truthfulness of such content being shown through Television/Cinema/Internet-based entertainment programs/Social Media. The order also added that in the greater interest of securing the level playing field and conduct of free and fair elections that such political content ought to be regulated during the election period to prevent violation of Model Code of Conduct.

Prior to this, the Supreme Court had given its approval to the biopic’s release after it dismissed the petition filed seeking a stay on it. The film was initially scheduled to release on April 5 but due to obstruction from opposition parties, the release got deferred to April 11, the same day first phase of Lok Sabha elections starts. However, after EC’s order, the movie got postponed indefinitely till the elections conclude. Hence, the producers approached SC to appeal against the EC’s order.

Congress workers beat up BJP supporters at Urmila Matondkar’s election campaign at Borivali railway station in Mumbai

Congress workers were caught on camera beating up BJP supporters at Borivali railway station in Mumbai. A scuffle broke out between BJP and Congress supporters when Matondkar arrived outside Borivali railway station in Mumbai with her supporters and the BJP supporters there started chanting ‘Modi, Modi’. Outraged, Congress supporters started walking towards BJP supporters shouting ‘Chowkidar chor hai’ and beat up the person who was chanting ‘Modi, Modi’.

In the above video, one can see a guy wearing a black and white checkered shirt and fluorescent green bag is chanting ‘Modi, Modi’ when Matondkar arrives for campaigning. The crowd also joins him in supporting Prime Minister Modi. At around 20 seconds, Congress supporters can be seen walking towards the BJP supporting crowd while shouting ‘Chowkidar chor hai’. They gherao the guy mentioned above and suddenly a Congress supporter beat him up. More Congress supporters then joined in and beat up other BJP supporters.

At around 50 seconds it could be seen that in the scuffle, even a lady who’s standing there is also beaten up by the Congress supporter. At 1 minute into the video, the bespectacled lady who was injured by the Congress worker can be seen tending to her injury on her face.

There is an increase in incidents of violent attacks on those who support the BJP or Prime Minister Narendra Modi. NDTV journalist Sreenivasan Jain was caught downplaying violence against a Modi fan just because the victim was a Modi fan. A Congress-DMK worker killed a 75-year-old man because he was a Narendra Modi fan. Identified as Govindarajan, he was wearing photos of Modi and Jayalalithaa on his shirt while roaming around campaigning for the elections.

Azam Khan swears by Allah’s name: ‘Will make collectors clean our shoes’

Samajwadi Party’s senior leader and Ram Pur Lok Sabha candidate Azam Khan had made extremely distasteful and sexist remarks against his political opponent and BJP candidate Jaya Prada. Today, he is out giving other statements on how is he going to deal with government officials after he comes back to power.

In a video, Azam Khan is seen speaking to the public during an election campaign. He is seen saying, “Do not be afraid of collectors. They are salaried employees. Nobody should bother about a salaried government employee. Have you seen how such big officers used to clean Mayawati’s shoes with their handkerchief? We have an alliance with Mayawati. If god wishes so, we will also make these collectors clean our shoes.”

Khan, whose shameful remarks against Jaya Prada has drawn severe criticism from all quarters yesterday, is not new to such statements. Neither is he new to misusing the state machinery for menial jobs. In early 2014, after some buffaloes were stolen from his farmhouse in Rampur, Khan had sent the entire police hierarchy, including DSP and other senior officers in Rampur, to search for his buffaloes.

In a sting operation by India Today, it was revealed that Khan had asked police officers not to do anything in the Muzaffarnagar riots. Officers had stated that Khan had put pressure on police and government officials to not do anything to control the riots, in a possible attempt to appease Muslims.

Khan’s latest remarks have roused condemnation in social media.

As per latest reports, UP Police have registered an FIR against Khan for his sexist and misogynist statements against Jaya Prada. A case has been registered against Khan under section 509 of the IPC. The National Commission of Women has also issued a notice to him for his remarks against Jaya Prada.

We never said ‘Chowkidar chor hai’, SC sends notice to Rahul Gandhi for inventing facts

A Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi on Monday issued a notice to Congress President Rahul Gandhi and sought an explanation from him for his comments after the Supreme Court verdict on Rafale, reports Live Law.

Rahul Gandhi had distorted the SC order while talking to the media, and said that Supreme Court has accepted that there is some form of corruption in Rafale deal and that “chowkidaar ne chori karwayi hai”. The Supreme Court observed that it had on “no occasion” made any comments as attributed by Gandhi and that the judgment was solely on the legal question of admissibility of documents produced by review petitioners. The top court has asked Rahul Gandhi to reply by April 22.

The Supreme Court was hearing a contempt petition against Congress chief Rahul Gandhi filed by BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi over his ‘Chowkidar chor hai’ remarks against PM Modi after the Supreme Court order on Rafale.

Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi, submitted before the apex court that Congress president had made a remark that the “Supreme Court has said, chowkidaar chor hai” in the verdict in Rafale review delivered on April 10.

The BJP had slammed the Congress President after he claimed that the top court has made it “clear” that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had “committed a theft”. Rahul Gandhi made the comments referring to the SC nod on the admissibility of “leaked documents” in the  Rafale case.

Last Wednesday the apex court allowed the admissibility of three documents as evidence in re-examining the review petitions concerning the Rafale deal. Court had dismissed the union government’s objections on the maintainability of the documents. The documents related to the Rafale deal are from the defence ministry, and the government says that they were illegally obtained by the petitioners and the newspapers that had published them. The Supreme Court had earlier given a clean chit to PM Modi in the Rafale deal, and it is hearing the review petitions on the issue.

The Supreme Court was hearing five Rafale review petitions, mainly on the issues of the admissibility of “stolen” Rafale documents as evidence and the claim of privilege raised on them by the government.

Congress leaders seen openly demanding tickets for Muslims because their population is growing

In a shocking video which has surfaced, four Congress leaders are seen ‘strategising’ and demanding a ticket for Muslim candidates in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections because of the growing Muslim population in the national capital.

In the above video, four senior Muslim leaders of Congress can be heard discussing the total Muslim population in Delhi and how much of the votes Muslims could contribute. Mentioning that since the figure of Muslim vote could be at around 20-22 lakhs, the Congress leaders add that at least one Muslim candidate should be fielded for the Lok Sabha elections by Congress.

Matin Ahmed: “Muslim vote hai kitna?” (How much is Muslim vote?)

Hasan Ahmed: “Muslim vote mere khayal se 18-20% hoga” (Muslim vote must be 18-20%)

Shoaib Iqbal: “Total jo hai, main aapko bataunga. Muslim population 40 lakh hai. Vote 20 lakh hoga.” (I’ll tell you total population. Total Muslim population is 40 lakh, of which 20 lakh must be voters.)

Hasan Ahmed: “20-22 lakh kam thodi hi hai? Ek seat to aise hi ho gayi. Baat yeh hai ki pehle outer Delhi mein Musalman vote nahin tha. Ek constituency aisi nahin hai jisme Muslim vote nahin hai. Aap outer Delhi mein bhi jaa ke dekhiye, beshumar Musalman kahan kahan se aa ke base hai. Pata hi nahin laga. (20-22 lakh is not less. We should get at least one seat. Earlier there were hardly any Muslims in outer Delhi. Now you go and see. So many Muslims have come and settled there.)

They even wrote a letter to the party president Rahul Gandhi in which they demand at least one ticket be given to them because of the support from Muslim voters.

Congress leaders write to Rahul Gandhi demanding at least one seat for them to contest on.

In the letter addressed to Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Shoaib Iqbal, Matin Ahmed, Haroon Yusuf, Hasan Ahmed and Asif Mohammed Khan, all former MLAs, write that “keeping in view large numbers of Muslim voters and the contribution of these 5 senior Muslim leaders and their trackrecord of winning elections” at least one ticket must be given to either of the five mentioned above.

The Wire journalist defends Azam Khan’s misogynist attack on Jaya Prada, deletes tweet after getting called out

Controversial ‘journalist’ Arfa Khanum Sherwani, who often resorts to fake news and propaganda just like her employers The Wire, has now come to the rescue of uncouth Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan, who had earlier made deplorable sexist comments against actress-turned-politician Jaya Prada.

In a hurry to contain the damage that was inflicted on ‘Mahagathbandhan’ after Azam Khan’s sexist anti-women comment, Arfa Khanum Sherwani jumped into the rescue of Samajwadi Party leader claiming that his statements were not targetted at Jaya Pradha but were against former SP leader Amar Singh.

In her tweet, Arfa Khanum claimed that Azam Khan’s lewd statements were not directed at BJP Rampur candidate Jaya Prada, rather it was a ‘propaganda war’ directed at Amar Singh. However, she deleted the tweet soon as her hypocrisy was pointed out.

Deleted tweet of Arfa which absolved SP leader Azam Khan

Azam Khan, senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader, and MLA from Rampur constituency had stooped lower than his usual low self by making utterly outrageous comments against BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Rampur, Jyada Prada. In his speech, Azam Khan had used utterly disgraceful statements against Jaya Prada, claiming that she wore Khaki underwears.

Addressing the people of Rampur, he said that they could not recognise her (Prada’s) reality in 17 years while it only took him 17 days. “Uski asliayat samajhne me apko 17 baras lagey. Main 17 din me pehchan gaya ke inke niche ka jo underwear hai woh khaki rang ka hai (It took 17 years for you to recognise her reality. But it took me only 17 days to recognise that the colour of her underwear is Khaki)”, commented Khan trying to suggest that Prada had links with the RSS and the allegations against him were an RSS conspiracy. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav was also present when this remark was made.

Azam Khan and his party leaders have used misogynist and sexist statements against Jaya Prada earlier too. Jaya Prada has also alleged that Khan has attempted an acid attack on her in the past and had circulated her morphed, lewd pictures to harass her.

It is not surprising to see journalists belonging to the Leftist propaganda website, The Wire, being exposed for their selective outrage and hypocrisy. The Wire is known to peddle half-truths and whole lies as a force of habit with a long list to their credit. The Wire, which is being sued for defamation often publish articles that read like Hurriyat press statements. Their article has in the past incited violence. They were recently slammed by the CBEC for peddling fake news.

Uber driver Usman refuses to switch on AC, tells lady passenger to ‘ask Modi to send a cab’

In a shocking incident, in this hot and sultry weather, an Uber driver in Mumbai, Maharastra refused to switch on the cab’s air conditioner for his lady passenger and her toddler. On being questioned he told the lady to ask ‘Modi to send the cab’ for her.

A lady with Twitter handle @Sona2905, took to Twitter to narrate her ordeal. She booked an Uber to the Glomax Mall in Mumbai and was accompanied by her young kid. In this scorching heat, her Uber driver, Usman, refused to switch on the AC of the cab saying that it would put unnecessary pressure on the engine of his car.

On being asked by the lady passenger, as to why, then, did he take out his car in this heat, he replied in a rude tone that, “AC nahi chalega, jana hai to jao nahi to utar jao”. (AC will not be switched on, whether you choose to ride or get down).

While the lady passenger kept speaking in a polite tone the driver was allegedly uncouth in his approach. She politely asked him whether this was the way he behaved with all his passengers, to which he replied, “Mai kaise baat karega meri marzi, tum mat sikhao aur utaro” ( I will speak the way I want to, don’t teach me and get down).

However, she waited until she got another taxi. While getting down, the taxi driver, who seems to have observed the Prime Minister’s picture on the back cover of the lady’s mobile, said, “why don’t you ask Modi to send you a cab”.

That’s when the lady, who was a Modi supporter, realised that the driver had seen Modi’s picture on her phone while she was on a call when she took the cab. His dislike for Modi was probably the reason for his discourtesy.

Reminding all the so-called liberals, about the brouhaha created last year, for allegedly inciting communal sentiments, when a man cancelled an Ola booking because the driver was a Muslim, she said she wanted to see how many, liberals come up this time to raise their voices against the bigotry she faced.

4th murder of BJP-RSS men in a week, now BJP mandal president shot dead in Odisha

In a shocking incident, a local BJP leader, Manguli Jena was shot dead by unknown assailants last night at Khurda, 25 km away from Bhubaneswar. As per reports, Jena was shot last night near the party office in Khurda.

Late on Sunday night, Jena was reportedly attacked by unknown assailants near the BJP office at Nabina Bag. Three rounds of bullets were fired when Jena was speaking to another party worker near the road. Jena, 52, was killed on the spot.

Kalu Khandayatra, the Khudra BJP’s MLA candidate, who is an eyewitness to the incident, has stated that one of the bullets was also fired at him but he escaped unhurt while Jena was killed. He has stated that the attacker had come in a scooter wearing a helmet and his face was not identifiable.

It is notable here that Khurda assembly comes under the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency which will go to polls on 23 April. Protesting the incident, Khurda BJP has called for a 6-hour bandh from 8 am to 2 pm in the town.

Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan has condemned the incident stating elections are about ballots, not bullets. He has also appealed BJP workers to maintain peace. The police have stated that Manguli was taken to hospital but he was declared brought dead. Search for the attackers is on.

Local news reports have stated that Manguli was earlier in BJD and had joined BJP in 2017. There was some enmity between him and some local political leaders.

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, who also holds the home ministry in the state, has also condemned the incident. In a Tweet, the CM has stated that he has asked the police DG for strong and swift action over the incident.

It is notable here that in recent days, there have been numerous murders and attacks on BJP and RSS leaders. In Jammu and Kashmir, RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma was killed inside a hospital last week by Islamist terrorists. In Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi was killed by Naxals in a powerful IED blast. On Saturday, a 75-year old BJP supporter was also killed by DMK-Congress workers in Tamil Nadu.
