Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad says UK will send Nirav Modi to India before elections to help BJP

Nearly seventeen months after fugitive billionaire diamantaire and prime accused in the Rs 14,000 crore PNB scam, Nirav Modi fled from India, he has been finally arrested in London. While this endeavour is being seen as a major diplomatic win for the government, Congress’ senior leader, Gulam Nabi Azad, following Congress’ etiquettes, used this accomplishment to downplay the BJP government.

Trying to de-emphasize Modi Government persistent efforts to bring back the fugitive to India, Ghulam Nabi Azad said that Nirav Modi’s arrest was an attempt by the NDA government to win the Lok Sabha Elections. “Modi government had sent Nirav Modi outside India, now it is bringing him to win elections,” Azad furthered. He also said that once the elections are over, government will send him back.

This is a bizarre allegation because Nirav Modi has been arrested on the orders of a UK court, on which India or BJP don’t have any influence. ED had filed an application for extradition of Nirav Modi with UK govt, and the UK govt forwarded the matter to Westminster Magistrate Court for further proceedings. It is very dishonest to suggest that BJP has an influence over the court in the UK.

Moreover, with the arrest of Nirav Modi, a long judicial process to extradite him has begun in UK, and it may take several months or even years to complete, taking the Vijay Mallya’s extradition process as a benchmark. Mallya is still in the UK although the court has cleared his extradition and UK govt has also approved the same. By saying that Nirav Modi will be brought to India before elections, Ghulam Nabi Azad is being extremely optimistic.

It may be noted that before today’s arrest of Nirav Modi, Ghulam Nabi Azad was demanding that Nirav Modi should be arrested and brought back to India. Now when the arrest has been made and an important step has been taken in his extradition, the Congress leader thinks it is being done for election.

According to the latest media reports, Nirav Modi was arrested from his 8-million-pound apartment by local police. He will be produced in Westminster court later today. The provisional arrest warrant against the billionaire, who was recently spotted on the streets of London was issued by the Westminster Magistrate Court.

On March 18, the court had issued an arrest warrant against Nirav Modi in response to a request by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for his extradition from the UK in a money laundering case.

In another development of the case, today ED also got permission from a Mumbai court to auction 11 cars belonging to Nirav Modi, which includes marquee brands like Rolls Royce, Porsche, Mercedes and Toyota Fortuner etc.

Nirav Modi, his wife Ami Modi, brother Nishal Modi, and uncle Mehul Choksi are accused defrauding Punjab National Bank to the tune of Rs 14,356 crore by obtaining Letter of Undertaking without furnishing any guarantee. Mehul Choksi is living in Antigua, having taken citizenship of the country.

PM Modi slams ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ brigade, apologizes to ‘chowkidars’ on behalf of opposition for calling them ‘chor’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with nearly 25 lakh security guards across the country through an audio conference as part of his outreach towards the citizens of this country. The interaction is part of PM Modi’s Lok Sabha poll campaign ‘Main Bhi chowkidar’.

During the interaction, Renu Peter, who has been working as a security guard in Uttar Pradesh for nearly four years, expressed how she felt proud of being a security guard. However, she added that lately, people were casting aspersions on chowkidars like her, as politicians began to raise slogans such as ‘Chowkidar Chor Hain’, which made her feel bad about the prevailing hate against the ‘Chowkidars’.

The lady further said she belonged to a poor family and has fought hard to get a job of a security guard. Expressing her disappointment over the constant attack against chowkidars, she asked PM Modi whether jawans who are protecting our borders were also thieves.

Prime Minister said he can understand the pain that resonates in the mind of crores of jawans, chowkidars, policemen. “I want to apologise as some people in the last few months for their vested interests have run a disinformation campaign against ‘chowkidars’. It is unfortunate that the language of these people has hurt you,” said PM Modi

Attacking the opposition, PM Modi said that some leaders to fulfil their selfish goals pointed fingers against the integrity of chowkidars who protects the nation. “If these people had taken my name directly, there would have been no problem for you, but these are cowardly people who fear to attack me instead attacks Chowkidars like you,” said PM Modi.

“This is just the beginning, They will further go down to attack chowkidars as they are desperate. They will find new things and attack and humiliate every chowkidar,” slammed PM Modi in a reference to Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s constant utterance of ‘Chowkidar Chor Hain’ to target PM Modi.

“We should be fighting with all the courage by working responsibly. Look at the bright side. You must have noticed that these days everywhere it is you who is being discussed, be it TV or social media, be it in India or abroad. Today every Indian is saying ‘Main Bhi Chowkidaar’,” added Modi.

PM Modi said that this is not the first time that he is being humiliated by ‘Naamdars’, with reference to Rahul Gandhi. PM Modi added that there is a sense of intolerance against Kaamdhars. Nobody is bigger than the work they do. People will only remember someone for their work, added PM Modi.

Prime Minister Modi kickstarted the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign with launching ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign on Twitter. PM Modi had tweeted a video to remind everyone that their ‘Chowkidar’ (watchman) is standing firm and serving the nation.

Following this, senior BJP leaders, including party president Amit Shah, and Union ministers prefixed their names on the microblogging site with ‘chowkidar’, which turned out be an instant hit as it became a mass movement spontaneously after lakhs of common people joined the campaign.

As BJP is surging ahead with its political masterstroke ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign, Prime Minister Modi is all set to take it to the next level as he plans to interact with people from 500 different locations across the country on March 31.

Jammu and Kashmir: National Conference and Congress announce alliance, PDP to go solo

After several rounds of discussions, the National Conference and Congress party successfully forged an alliance in Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Both parties had also stitched an alliance in 2014 General elections but had drawn a blank, as BJP had grabbed two seats from Jammu and one from Ladkah and PDP had grabbed all three seats from Kashmir.

“The alliance has been finalised in the national interest and will strengthen the secular forces in J&K as the state faces threat from Pakistan,” Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said during the announcement of the alliance. He also added that alliance will prevent the division of “secular” votes and BJP will not benefit and this decision is taken in national interest.

Explaining the alliance, NC chief Farooq Abdullah said that Congress will get to contest two seats of Udhampur and Jammu, and he himself will be contesting from Srinagar. Azad said that all Congress leaders will campaign for Abdullah from the seat.

However, as per announcement, there will be a “friendly contest” on seats of Anantnag and Baramulla, where both parties will field candidates, but will not indulge in the fierce electoral battle. Abdullah added that both parties are still holding discussions on the Ladakh seat.

“Friendly contest means that there will be no cut-throat contest between us on these two seats (Anantnag and Baramulla). If either Congress or NC wins, it’s a win-win situation for both of us” Azad was quoted. He also added that alliance will give strength to secular forces of the state as it faces threats from Pakistan.

There were early speculations that Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP is in talks with Congress for an alliance, However, rubbishing such speculation Mufti had made it clear that it will contest on all the six seats of the state by itself.

The Lok Sabha battle in Jammu and Kashmir will witness triangular contest, as BJP, Congress-NC, and PDP will enter the electoral arena. The state will go to polls in five phases: April 11,18,23,29 and May 6.

IT raids on Mayawati’s former secretary, properties worth crores and huge quantities of cash, jewelry and valuables found

In the recent raids against BSP chief Mayawati’s former aide Netram, the IT department has found 20 immovable properties worth Rs 225 crores, luxury cars valued at Rs 1 crore, cash od Rs 2.03 crores and jewelry worth Rs 17.79 lakhs in possession of the BSP chief’s former secretary.

The searches were carried out on 12 March.

A retired 1979 batch IAS officer, Netram had held many important positions in the UP government when Mayawati was its chief minister from 2007 to 2012. He was Principal Secretary (Home) from 2007 to 2012 and later became Mayawati’ Principal Secretary. After retirement, he worked as an advisor to Mayawati and was also considering fighting the polls on a BSP ticket.  The IT authorities have claimed that the raids were carried out for alleged tax evasion running into several crores of rupees.

According to the sources, the raids have so far elicited Rs 18 lakh from a Lucknow house, Rs 86 lakhs Rs 86 lakh from the GK-1 house, and Rs 60 lakh from a linked person. Rs 50 lakhs are said to be in a locker which is yet to be searched. The officials have also seized property papers pointing to further properties worth Rs 225 crore. Mont Blanc pens worth Rs 50 lakhs were also confiscated. The IT department also came across 30 shell companies floated with the relatives of the assessee or his in-laws being depicted as shareholders and directors.

The IT department has attached these seizures to u/s 132(9B) of the Income Tax Act. 17 lockers which are seized are yet to be searched. Incriminating evidence was found from the raids at 11 locations in Delhi, Lucknow, and Kolkata of the BSP chief’s former aide Netram.

‘Krantikari’ journalist Punya Prasun Bajpai sacked, again, this time from Surya Samachar

Self-proclaimed ‘neutral’ journalist, Punya Prasun Bajpai seems to be having a tough time as he has been sacked from Surya Samachar, the news agency which he had joined just months after he had quit ABP News.

According to left-leaning purported news portal Newslaundry, former ABP news anchor Punya Prasun Bajpai and the 25 others who had joined TV news channel Surya Samachar, were informed on Tuesday evening that they will be laid off by the end of the month.

Reportedly, Surya Samachar has also issued a ‘Disassociation Notice’, which reads, “As per the decision of the management we notify you that your services have been disassociated with the company. Please consider 31st March 2019, as your last working day. All your payments will be cleared after obtaining dues clearance.”

The exact reason for why he was fired from Surya Samachar is yet to be known. Punya Prasun Bajpai quit his job at ABP News along with other 25 members in the August last year. Soon after his resignation from the ABP News, the Congress-backed ecosystem had blamed the Narendra Modi government for pressurising the promoters to sack him for carrying out a program against PM Modi’s ‘Man Ki Baat’ on their channel.

However, contrary to the popular media narrative, some reports suggested he was forced to quit the ABP News after he had indulged in fake propaganda and deliberate hit job against the Narendra Modi led NDA government.

Punya Prasun Bajpai, who is known for his rabid hate against the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has often pushed his narrative through his media space. In one such incident, PM Modi had earlier spoken on the effectiveness of government schemes in doubling the income of farmers, following which news channel had confirmed the same with a lady farmer from Chattisgarh, Chandramani Kaushik.

Meanwhile, Punya Prasun had already thought of a hit job and managed to telecast an episode where he had claimed that the lady farmer was instructed by people from Delhi on how to reply to the Prime Minister. In his program, he managed to confuse the lady farmer to somehow get an answer that depicted that her income had not doubled. Soon, the video clip of that section of the program went viral on social media and it was even shared by Congress President on Twitter.

The narrative peddled by Bajpai’s program, that the BJP had doctored the woman’s interaction with the Prime Minister to boost its credentials, was soon busted by MyNation. The woman, Chandramani Kaushik, clarified that she had doubled her income not through rice farming but by processing the pulp of Sitafal (Custard Apple).

In a similar incident, PP Bajpai, in a hurry to malign the Narendra Modi government, had once got exposed by his own ignorance after he had said that insurance policies like Ayushman Bharat would push people towards death.

Bajpai’s quick exits from media houses is not new. In 2008, Bajpai and his team was sacked unceremoniously barely six months after he joined Sahara News’ Hindi news channel, Sahara Samay. He was reportedly removed almost overnight because Sahara’s own cameras caught him badmouthing Sahara TV during an interview with the then Railways Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav. Top management took note and he was deemed a disloyal employee and asked to leave almost overnight.

Interestingly, Punya Prasoon Bajpai’s ‘neutrality’ came to limelight when he hosted a show with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, where both of them were caught speaking in a hushed voice where Kejriwal appeared to be telling Bajpai of playing up the part where he appears like a revolutionary.

‘Modi is killing youths of North-East’, and other lies of Rahul Gandhi during his NE tour

As part of the campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi is on a tour of north-eastern states. Yesterday he addressed a rally in Arunachal Pradesh, and today Rahul Gandhi addressed programs in Meghalaya and Manipur. And as the Congress president has decided that he is going to defeat Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha elections based on lies and more lies, his speeches in the northeast were also not different.

In his speech in Itanagar in Arunachal, Rahul Gandhi said that infrastructure in Arunachal and the northeast needs to be improved. The state needs more roads, airports, helipads legislative assembly building etc. He said that the Modi government has not done anything on this regard. Rahul Gandhi must be applauded for accepting that despite the long rule of the Congress party at the centre and in the north-eastern states, the infrastructure needs huge improvements.

To compare the work infrastructure in NE done by Modi government compared to previous governments, let us take the example of bridges on the Brahmaputra. Before NDA-II government came to power in 2014, there were a grand total of three bridges over the Brahmaputra river. And today, there are six bridges, which means the number of bridges built in 5 years is equal to numbers of bridges built in 65 years, most of which was ruled by Congress. One bridge is under construction, and both central and Assam governments have already approved at least seven more bridges over the river. India’s longest bridge, India’s second longest bridge, and India’s longest rail-road bridges were opened in the northeast during Modi’s tenure. Of course, works most of these bridges were started before Modi government, but the fact is that those projects were running at very slow pace, and it is Modi government which expedited works on them and completed the projects.

As Rahul Gandhi was talking about Arunachal, it is important to mention that apart from the second bridge at Guwahati, all other new bridges specifically benefits Arunachal, even if some of them are located in Assam. 6.2 km long bridge over Dibang river which is second longest in India, and 3 km long Alubari bridge are located in Arunachal, while Bogibeel rail-road bridge and India’s longest Dhola-Sadia bridges are located in Assam, and all of them provide crucial connectivity to Arunachal.

The 6.2 km bridge over Dibang river in Arunachal is India’s second longest.

Before Modi government, Arunachal had air connectivity only through helicopter. The current government has upgraded and Tezu airport and commercial flights have started from there, while work on another airport near Itanagar has already started. Arunachal was also added to railway map during Modi government, and works on highways and railways n the entire region have been going on in the region at a never before pace.

In all the speeches, Rahul Gandhi promised that his government will bring back the special category status for north-eastern states, saying that Modi government has done a great injustice to this region. This is nothing but an attempt to mislead people by Rahul Gandhi, as no state has actually suffered due to withdrawal of the status. Special category is a legacy of planning commission era which has outlived its purpose. The Modi government has scrapped plan and non-plan expenditure, while the share of states in tax revenue was increased from 32% to 42%. The implementation of GST also has resulted in more tax revenue going to north-eastern states, as these states are mainly consumer states.

In Manipur, Rahul Gandhi said that his government will make Manipur the bridge between South‑East Asia and India, and mocked Modi for upgrading the look-east policy to act-east policy. Again the fact is, what Congress governments were planning for decades, the Modi government has already done. Last year, the Indo-Myanmar land route was officially opened at Moreh in Manipur with the inauguration Integrated Check Point along with a passenger terminal in the town.

Passenger Terminal at Indo-Mynmar border post, Moreh

The work on Kaladan multi-modal transit project is going on at rapid speed, which will connect Mizoram with Bay of Bengal through a land and water route through Sittwe port in Myanmar. A river route between northeast and rest of India is also being established through Bangladesh, which are few examples of implementation of the Act East policy.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi also levelled a very serious charge against Narendra Modi, when he said that Modi is killing youths in the northeast. There can’t be a bigger lie than this. The region has become almost terror free under the current government, and only separatist terrorists are getting neutralised in encounters with security forces. During previous Congress regimes, the general public had to face severe harassment in operations conducted by security forces, which has become a thing of past now.

How can one forget that in 1966, prime minister Indira Gandhi had used the Indian Air Force to combat terrorists inside India, when IAF planes had bombed Aizawl in Mizoram. Large number of innocents had died in indiscriminate bombing and firing by IAF planes. Other than few factions, NDA government is engaged with most extremist groups in the region and as a result, the region has remained mostly violence-free.

No Rahul Gandhi speech is complete without a Rafale lie, so he didn’t forget to include one in his speeches. Rahul Gandhi said that HAL was going to make the Rafale jet at the cheapest rate by Modi came and cancelled the deal. While the reality is, the original Rafale deal was cancelled because HAL was demanding more money than the price charged by Dassault. Even the CAG report on the Rafale has mentioned that HAL was demanding 2.7 times more manhour for making the jet, which would have increased the price so much that Rafale would not remain the lowest bidder.

Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Agartala later today, and we can expect more lies from him.

Nirav Modi arrested in London 17 months after he fled India, bail denied and sent to custody till March 29

In what is pegged as a huge diplomatic win for the Modi government, fugitive businessman and prime accused in the Rs 14,000 crore PNB scam, Nirav Modi has been arrested in London, 17 months after he fled India, reports Republic TV. On 18th March, two days back, a London court had issued an arrest warrant against him based on India’s request for extradition.

After the arrest, Nirav Modi was presented at the Westminster Magistrate Court for hearing on the matter. The court rejected the bail plea of Nirav Modi and sent him to custody till 29th March. The court also fixed 29th March as the next date of hearing in the case.

Recently media had tracked Nirav Modi in London, who reportedly lives in a luxury 8 million pound apartment in west London, and currently deals in the diamond business. The Indian government was aware of his presence in the UK, and ED had already requested the UK government for extradition in July 2018. The UK government had found the Nirav Modi case fit for extradition, and the request was sent by UK Central Authority of Home Office to the Westminster Magistrate Court for further proceedings.

The Westminster Court has issued the arrest warrant against Nirav Modi as part of processing this extradition request. He has been ordered to be produced before the court on 25th March. Since the warrant is provisional, Nirav Modi is expected to get bail soon.

Mob led by Congress goons threaten and heckle Modi supporter for wearing ‘NaMo Again’ t-shirt

As the elections are round the corner, people have started wearing their hearts on their sleeves(literally) to express their support for their favoured political party. But this has been unpalatable for Congress loyalists who have once again exhibited their propensity for violence against the supporters of their political rivals.

In the constituency of PM Modi, Varanasi, a third-year college student wearing ‘NaMo Again’ sweatshirt was heckled and intimidated by the lumpen Congress elements. The Congress goons literally sweated over ‘NaMo Again’ sweatshirt donned by one of the Modi supporters at the Congress rally venue.

When the Republic TV news reporter asked about her views on Congress, the college student responded that Priyanka Gandhi was absent from the electoral scene in the last 5 years, she has come now only to rescue her brother. This shows their opportunistic approach, she said. Congress goons present in the vicinity were further annoyed when she claimed that when Rahul Gandhi is asked to prove ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ jibe, he says he doesn’t know it.

This rattled the Congress supporters present at the venue so much so that they started name-calling and heckling the student. As if this was not enough, she was also physically intimidated by the Congress goons for extending her support to Modi and criticising Rahul Gandhi-led Congress. She had to leave the venue in face of mounting threats from the truculent Congress supporters.

A couple of days back, Congress supporters in Bengaluru attacked techies in Manyata tech park when they chanted Pro-Modi slogans on the arrival of the Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Shockingly, the techies were also lathi-charged by the Karnataka Police for raising pro-Modi slogans. The recent spurt in attacks by unnerving Congress supporters against those expressing their allegiance to Modi reveals their despondency on their party’s fate in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Maharashtra: Major setback for Congress-NCP as senior NCP leader’s son and former DY CM joins BJP

In another jolt to Congress-NCP in Maharashtra, Ranjitsinh Mohite-Patil, son of senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former DY chief Minister, Vijaysinh Mohite Patil has decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Ranjitsinh is slated to join BJP on Wednesday in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis.

As the Lok Sabha election is fast approaching, the internal politics within each political party has started gradually unfolding. The internecine rivalry within the Nationalist Congress Party also lays exposed to this decision with the rift between Sharad Pawar, the NCP supremo and the Mohite-Patil clans, over the Madha Lok Sabha constituency, reaching a flashpoint on Tuesday.

Talking to Times Now, Mohite-Patil said that the father-son duo is ‘disappointed’ with NCP. “My father had initiated an irrigation project in our area when my father was deputy chief minister, but nothing was done. We have had disappointment from top NCP leadership. CM Fadnavisji has assured me with support and I am joining them,” Ranjitsinh Mohite-Patil said during the interview.

It is also being believed that Ranjitsinh is reportedly upset over the party’s delay in announcing the candidate for Madha constituency from where he is keen to contest. Notably, Vijaysinh Mohite Patil, father of Ranjitsinh is an MLA from Madha constituency.

Interestingly, if BJP fields Ranjitsinh from Madha constituency, and the NCP chooses to retain its sitting MP and his father Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil, it could witness an unprecedented father-son electoral contest in the state.

This decision may turn out to be brutal for the Congress-NCP alliance in Maharashtra, where NCP chief Sharad Pawar has already declared that he won’t be contesting the general elections.

Mohite-Patil, however, added that the NCP chief’s decision to not contest Lok Sabha poll 2019, was ‘not linked’ to his decision to join the BJP. “Can’t say that Sharad Pawar decided not to contest elections because of us joining BJP,” he said.

This decision might be considered to be the second significant loss the Congress-NCP tie-up, which recently lost Sujay Vikhe-Patil, the son of Maharashtra Leader of Opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil to the BJP.

The NCP has also been dealing with its internal family crisis as three people from the Pawar family declaring to contest the elections. Parth Ajit Pawar had announced that he would be a contender for Maval Lok Sabha seat. On the other hand, NCP President Sharad Pawar had indicated his plans to contest from Madha. This would have meant three persons from the Pawar family, namely, Supriya Sule-Pawar, Parth and Shard Pawar himself, contesting. So, Pawar quietly withdrew from the race and averted a major crisis within the party, which enjoys the national party status.

Botherations seem to be coming after Rahul Gandhi who is trying his level best to take on BJP in every possible way ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Whether that involves stitching up opportunistic and unholy alliances or spreading lies or concocting narratives, he is leaving no stone unturned. However, recently things have not been falling in place for him.

Congress had been fighting several issues like in-house defections with many of its workers deserting the party and crossing over to other rival parties, internal party conflicts, alliances walking out on him, leaving his mahagatbandhan dream half-baked.

Now, when the, whatever left-over alliances of the Congress Party, also seem to be in trouble, one wonders what future in stores for the grand old party.

Kapil Sibal’s bizarre defence of Congress’ dynastic politics, calls RSS ‘the biggest dynasty’

Senior Congress leader and the former law union minister, Kapil Sibal in a bizarre defence over the ‘dynasty politics’ accusation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dragged the Sangh Parivar (RSS) into the matter.

Kapil Sibal, in his attempt to defend the Congress party, said, “BJP and Modi are ruining this nation by the dynasty politics of the Sangh Parivar. What is Sangh Parivar, except for a dynasty? Whoever is to be a CM, whether he belongs to Goa or somewhere else belongs to the Sangh Parivar. The PM of India must belong to the Sangh Parivar. All important portfolios in the government must be given to the Sangh Parivar. This is the biggest parivar which is the dynasty which is ruling our country. So what is the Prime Minister talking about? He should have some sense of history, some sense of perspective,” he added.

The unvarnished truth on ‘dynasty politics’ which Prime Minister shared in a blog earlier today seems to have gone and hit the Congress party’s wrong nerve.

Prior to this, Congress senior leader, Tariq Anwar, had also come up with a ludicrous defence and while following the standard procedure the Congress members generally adhere to, insulted PM Modi saying Modi has no ‘vansh’ hence he is against dynasty politics.

Justifying dynastic politics, Anwar said that Prime Minister Modi is taking on the ‘dynastic politics’ because Modi himself has no family to take the ‘legacy’ forward. He further justified that such nepotism is prevalent in all professions and hence nothing wrong in politics either.

The Prime Minister had through his blog earlier today, taken a dig at the Congress’ dynastic politics culture. In his blog, he highlighted the negative impact dynasty politics has had on the institutions of the country over the years. Modi had written that the mandate of 2014 was epoch-making also because it was for the first time in the history of India that a non-dynastic party was blessed with a complete majority.

Flinging subtle jibe’s at the Congress he went on to write, “When a Government works with the spirit of ‘India First’ instead of ‘Family First’, it shows in its working”.

Prime Minister Modi has regularly trained his gun on the nepotism and dynastic politics of the Congress party.

Truly so, India has been for decades controlled by the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty. The current President of Congress, Rahul Gandhi is former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s son, Indira Gandhi’s grandson and Jawaharlal Nehru’s great-grandson. His mother, Sonia Gandhi was also the party president for almost two decades before Rahul Gandhi took over.
