Employee of ‘NGO’ that donated to Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, chargesheeted for furthering ISIS propaganda

0

Arshi Qureshi, a man who worked as a guest manager at Zakir Naik’s Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) has been booked by an NIA court for the radicalisation of youth and motivating them to join ISIS. It has been alleged that Qureshi used to conduct training sessions for the youth to join ISIS at IRF’s Dongri office.

On August 6, 2016, Abdul Majid Abdul Qadar had lodged a complaint at Nagpada police station against Maulana Haneef, Abdul Rashid, Rizwan Khan and Arshi Qureshi, saying that they brainwashed his son into joining ISIS which is why his son Ashfaq, his wife Shamsiya Kuria and their daughter Ayesha went missing from their native place in Kasargod.

The charges against Arshi Qureshi has been formed under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act). The NIA probe had concluded that he worked against India by supporting ISIS and motivating youth to join the Islamic terror organisation.

The court has charged Arshi Qureshi under sections 13 (punishment for unlawful activities) and 39 (support to a terrorist organisation).

Two other accused, Maulana Haneef and Rizwan Khan are out on bail currently and have not yet been charge-sheeted.

Interestingly, Zakir Naik’s IRF, whose employee has now been charged with furthering ISIS propaganda, had also admitted to donating to Rajiv Gandhi Foundation back in 2011. IRF had admitted to donating Rs 50 lakhs to Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF). Congress had admitted to receiving the funds to Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust and not Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. Zakir Naik had maintained that the donation had gone to Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and not the Charitable Trust as claimed by Congress.

Congress had also claimed in 2016 that they had returned the money received from Zakir Naik “just a few months back”. However, IRF had denied receiving the money back from RGF.

The Chairman of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation is Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, P Chidambaram and Priyanka Gandhi as Trustees.

The current Modi government has been trying to get Zakir Naik extradited from Malaysia but the government has faced many roadblocks in that endeavour.

India had banned Zakir Naik’s Islamic Research Foundation in 2017. The court upheld that ban saying that it was done to protect the sovereignty of the country.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi eerily smiles as he meets ailing DMK patriarch Karunanidhi

Congress’ prime ministerial candidate for 2019 elections is strange, to put it mildly. He has an uncanny habit of having an empty look in his eyes as he smiles awkwardly at inappropriate times. The latest addition to this long list of embarrassing smiles happened today as Congress President Rahul Gandhi paid a visit to the ailing DMK patriarch Karunanidhi, who is undergoing treatment in Chennai’s Kauvery Hospital.

Sexual slurs and abuses hurled at Twitter user after she cracks a joke on Arvind Kejriwal

Following the electoral success of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan, Twitter user and a PhD research scholar @TrulyMonica decided to use the opportunity to crack a joke on AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal, by drawing parallels between him and Imran Khan:

But this joke seems to have caused a major heartburn for Kejriwal’s supporters who have as a result targeted Monica with abuses and sexual slurs. There are few of the vicious responses she has received:

Tweets abusing Monica
Tweet calling her illiterate
One judged her appearance
Monica receiving a common Indian abuse

Some decided to respond with extremely lewd statements:

Example of a lewd tweet directed towards Monika

One even called for Monica’s arrest:

Apart from random trolls, Monica was also attacked by a prominent left-liberal page, which alleged that she was in cahoots with the RSS. This pro-Kejriwal tweet was surprisingly retweeted by the AAP supremo himself, leading to the assumption that he was rattled by the joke:

Monica was also taken on by AAP’s IT head and fake news generator Ankit Lal, who advocated that PM Modi and Amit Shah be jailed:

It was indeed puzzling to note that Kejriwal’s supporters were so triggered with Monica’s joke considering she merely followed the AAP supremo’s own narrative of drawing parallels between him and Imran Khan:

Apart from supposedly challenging the status quo, another similarity between Kejriwal and Imran Khan might be that they both enjoy support from Pakistanis. This was famously noted when Pakistani Twitter users had trended #PakStandsWithKejriwal, when the AAP leader had demanded proof of the surgical strike by the Indian army.

Saba Naqvi’s conduct in a recent TV debate is the real, makeup-less face of the quintessential ‘left liberal’

0

When the left constantly occupies spaces that call themselves “progressive”, “rationalist”, “humanist” and so on, one would expect genuine regard for a human life and dignity.

But when it comes to matters they cannot force fit into an agenda, the left has implicitly conveyed its indifference for the basic rights that every human deserves. And that is precisely what gets people wondering, on the relevance of such self-styling adjectives, that they associate themselves with.

Saba Naqvi, another left-leaning ‘independent journalist’, who unsurprisingly sees herself as a “liberal”, has made numerous appearances on television debates. It is important to understand her thoughts because, on many levels, the issues she takes up, her views, her expressions and the instances of her amplified outrage, epitomise the hypocrisy of left-leaning, ‘liberal’ journalists.

On Sunday, Republic TV aired a debate about the relevance of Lutyens’ media, where Saba Naqvi appeared as a panellist. She was essentially defending the position of the Lutyens’ Media and called them an “easy target” for the ‘right wing’.

The heart of the debate really, was when there were questions on the selective outrage, regarding incidents of violence. Arnab Goswami simply said to Saba:

“When Muslims were lynched, the Lutyens’ brigade said that ‘fabric of India is being torn apart’. But what happened to the fabric of India when a 7 year old Dalit girl was raped by a 30 year old Muslim man, in Barmer? In the same place, a 22 year old man was lynched by 8 Muslims, for liking a Muslim woman. You of course knew about this, but why didn’t you say a thing?”

Upon listening to all this, she admitted the fact that she knew about it: “Yes, I knew about it. But you must understand that there is a pattern…”

As Kanchan Gupta, another panellist, intervened, reminding of the fact that the mentioned killers were Muslims, which is why she did not say much, Saba found the perfect opportunity:

“How dare you say that those rapists are Muslims? Should I call the others who raped people Hindus? The way muslims are being targeted and lynched, there is a clear pattern. But there is no such pattern when Muslims rape or lynch Hindus.”

Let us take one argument at a time while addressing Naqvi. When Saba flaunts her misplaced outrage, regarding  ‘how dare people call them Muslims’, I am sure she understands that all these people who were mentioned, identified themselves as Muslims and for that reason alone, those accused in the specific incidents of rape and murder, were Muslims, and can legitimately be addressed as that.

It is also, rather amusing when she poses absurd threats like “shall I call those rapists and murderers Hindu too?”, especially when that is all she does regardless of what others say to her. After all, terms like ‘Saffron Terror’ do not pop out of thin air, and that vague outburst means nothing, when she claims within the next 30 seconds in that very debate, that the “Alwar incident was because of religion only.”

But the crux of her point comes when she speaks of a “pattern when Muslims are being lynched”. When questioned further, she revealed that this pattern was that of cow “cow terrorism”.

Once again, her shallowness becomes apparent when she is ready to mention the rise in incidents of “cow terrorism”, but likes us to ignore the other indisputable “pattern” of a rise in incidents of cattle smuggling- most often unreported in the mainstream media- which threatens the lives and livelihood of small farmers.

It is very naive to suggest that the concept of mob vigilantism before ‘the law takes its course’ was inexistent before the BJP regime, or that a mere implementation of the directive principle of disallowing cow meat has led to “communal hatred” considering the ban on cow slaughter was implemented in most states way before BJP came to power, in fact, way before BJP was even born as a political party.

However, If Saba Naqvi indeed likes spotting ‘patterns’ so much, she surely must have noticed how BJP and RSS workers are being killed all over the nation, just for being affiliated with their respective organisations. And when M.R. Venkatesh, asked about the exact same question, all that he got was an insensitive, apathetic response:

The celebrated “left-liberal” journalist, will not utter a single word about the death of young boys who are killed just because they joined an organisation. She will instead ask, “Why should I? It’s not my job”, and as alleged by M.R. Venkatesh, that she “doesn’t care”. The unidimensional question I ask is, when it was not “your job” to get upset about Alwar, you did it because of whatever little compassion you had towards the victims; are the RSS workers unworthy of it? Or is the subtext of “it not being your job”, that the RSS workers deserve to die?

As is evident, Saba Naqvi only observes certain patterns, if they suit her political motives. It is obviously not related to caste- because there is no activism in the cases of violence towards Dalits in Barmer, despite Saba admittedly ‘knowing about it’. It is not even religion- because there is nothing when a Muslim BJP worker gets murdered for his allegiance to the BJP or when a Muslim youth gets abused in Uttar Pradesh after a “secular party” wins.

Such patterns are only observed when it can be remotely twisted to suit a communal agenda, out of deep hatred for a specific religious ideology. And Saba’s nonchalance towards people of selective ideologies or religions or castes is perfectly reflective of the left’s approach to activism.

When people like Barkha Dutt, Ravish Kumar and Rana Ayyub received death threats, they were unequivocally condemned and written about by the liberals, and quite rightly so. But when a fellow journalist, Rohit Sardana was threatened, along with his family, where was all the anger? All the moral policing that the nation was provided with, when Gauri Lankesh was killed, went out of the window just months later, in Sardana’s case. The slates OpIndia gave all these journalists, remain blank till date.

Whenever the pettiest of threats are made by any Hindu on social media towards a leftist ‘intellectual’, they come out with allegations on Hindu fundamentalism and the reality of “Hindu terror”, to call it the biggest existential threat to society and the ‘fabric of India’, even though there is no authenticity to those accounts most of the times. Yet when the Prime Minister is being plotted against, that too with plans for an assassination, the ‘liberal’ media continues to downplay its seriousness.

When issues of Naxalism enter the biggest cities of this country, as proven by a number of documents, letters and people, they continue to deny its presence.

What explains this nonchalance, other than bias, insincerity and a deep sense of hatred for people holding other views?

Saba Naqvi did nothing unique when she told the nation that it was not “her job” to raise questions when RSS members get killed. The way she laughed and smiled when she said something as heartless as that, exemplifies the callous attitude with which liberals view the tragedies of dissenting views. The scariest fact about them is that they undertake the duty of moral policing in our society, to make minorities fear the majority and the majority to fear themselves. But before we allow these hypocrites to become our guardians as a society, we need to question the agenda that drives such grave indifference.

In a big boost to Indo-US relationships, US designates India as a STA-1 country

In a big boost to India, the United States of America has now decided to designate India as Strategic Trade Authorization-1 (STA-1) country, which enables easier export control rules for high-technology sales between the two countries. Recently, The US had recognized India as a Major Defence Partner, which allows India to buy more advanced and sensitive technologies from the US at par with that of the US’ closest allies and partners. Now, the granting of STA-1 will begin a new chapter of co-operation and development between the two countries.

US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross called it “a very important change” in India’s status in the export control regime. Ross said that STA-1 designation to India indicates the growing security and economic relationship between the two countries. With this inclusion, India is now a member of three out of four export regimes, which include MTCR, the Australia Group and Wassenaar Agreement.

Indian Ambassador to the United States, Navtej Singh Sarna said that this is a sign of trust between the two countries not only in the relationship but also in India’s capabilities on the economy and as a security partner. He said that this will allow transfer of more sensitive defence technologies and dual-use technologies to India and without the risk of any proliferation.

India is the only country in South Asia to be on this list comprising of only 36 countries in the world. Japan and South Korea are the only other countries from Asia, which is designated as STA-1 countries by the US. Till recently, India was designated as an STA-2 country.

India can now export, re-export and transfer specified items on the Commerce Control List (CCL) to destinations posing a low risk of unauthorised or impermissible uses. It is believed that India will now get access to greater supply chain conditions for defence and high-tech products. It increases the integrity of the systems developed by both the countries and reduces the time and resources needed for the approval.

US Department of Commerce has listed all the items that are eligible for export to STA-1 countries. It includes items that are subject to the control of national security, chemical or biological weapons, nuclear non-proliferation, regional stability, crime control, and significant items.

The Narendra Modi led government has invested a lot of time and resources in re-shaping India’s image in the global front, which was deteriorated in the last decade. The Indo-US relations have been consistently on an upward trajectory, since the present government took the charge, as it can be seen that India is now considered to be a global power and a major security partner by the United States.

The other side of Tuticorin plant case: a Twitter user claiming to be an employee shares insight

The Sterlite plant at Tuticorin, owned by mining major Vedanta was permanently shut down by the Tamil Nadu government in May after massive protests that claimed 13 lives. Sterlite, one of the biggest copper producers of India had appealed against the closure to the National Green Tribunal. Yesterday, the NGT refused to grant any interim relief to Sterlite and listed the matter for further discussion on August 9th.

The Tuticorin plant was India’s major copper smelter and it was estimated that about 30,000 jobs and 800 medium and small industries will be affected by the shut down of the plant. It was also reported that closure of the plant would lead to an increase in import costs of copper by a staggering 2billion USD.

A Twitter user by the name Raji Subramanian, who claims to be an employee of the plant, shared some insights into the numerous allegations against the plant and the reality behind them on a Twitter thread. She said she is merely presenting the truth and has nothing to gain from the issue. She claims that the articles about the Sterlite protests published in ‘liberal’ portals like The News Minute, The Wire, The Quint and The Hindu were equivalent to an analysis done by a 2nd standard kid. She also adds that the ides of ignoring data and focusing on people’s feelings is also moot because people also felt that the earth was flat.

Subramanian then goes ahead to dismiss the claims of Sterlite’s liquid discharge polluting the ocean and environment is baseless because the plant does not discharge any liquid to the ocean. She claims the plant has been operating on ‘zero liquid discharge’ policy since its inception in 1997 and leaders like Vaiko and Nityanand Jayaraman were part of the NEERI committee in 2011 that established the zero liquid discharge claim.

She also shared some research studies in groundwater sources in nearby villages that showed that Sterlite copper had no effect on the level of pollutants.

She shared the data in the company website claiming that Sterlite has a sufficient number of effluent treatment plants and 3 facilities for reverse osmosis to ensure 100% recycling of its discharge. She also claims that the allegations of Sterlite Copper affecting rainfall in Tuticorin area are false because Tuticorin is rain shadow area and analysis of annual rainfall data over the years show that there is no correlation between Sterlite Copper and the amount of Rainfall in Tuticorin.

Subramanian further claims that the allegations of Sterlite taking up the water of Thamirabharani river are baseless because the plant takes only downstream water from the lag end, which would have anyways entered the sea and thus has no impact on agricultural water consumption. The company’s data show that Sterlite plant sources 67% of the water from its own desalination plants and effluent treatment plants and also engages in rainwater harvesting.

Subramanian further goes ahead to dismiss claims of Silicon Dioxide emissions and claims that the emissions are well within norms.

She asserts that Sterlite Copper has been a pioneer in providing employment in Tamil Nadu and states that the plant directly employes almost 4000 people and more than 70% of them are from Tamil Nadu. Indirectly, the plant helps 20,000 people associated with various small industries, supplier industries and customers in their livelihoods.

She further claims that the copper slag produced by Sterlite plant is non-leachable, non-toxic and has been certified by the Indian Toxicology Research Centre. She adds that even the claims of Sterlite Copper causing cancer in Tuticorin are misplaced because Tuticorin is one of the districts in Tamil Nadu listed under the lower number of cancer cases than districts like Chennai, Coimbatore and Kanchipuram. Further, no data had been produced to support the claims.

One of the main reasons for the plant facing opposition was the proposal for expansion. Vedanta claims that Sterlite Copper had obtained all the necessary government proposals necessary for the expansion.

She has further shared that between the years 1999-20005 and 2008-11, the plant operated under a deemed consent because despite application and payment of fees, the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board had not renewed their consent. As the Supreme Court pointed the time period as a concern and also found some deviations in the parameters of the NEERI report, it had asked the company to deposit a sum of Rs 100 crores for remedial actions (if any) and since the sum is yet to be used for any corrective measures and remedial actions by the TN government, the company points out that there have been no such concerns.

She also asserted the Vedanta’s claim that the location of the plant is in accordance with the site approved by government standards and there is no negative impact on the marine life in the area. It maintains the government specified distance from eco-sensitive areas and releases no liquid pollutants into the sea.

In its annual report published last week, Vedanta had reportedly claimed that the protests against Sterlite Copper were based on misinformation and the company is under the process to getting necessary approvals to reopen the plant.

Hinduphobe journalist of Washington Post now tries to lie about ‘censorship on media’ in Kashmir

0

Today, Washington Post India head, Annie Gowen, who has earlier displayed her racist and Hinduphobic behaviour, took to Twitter to complain that the Indian government now requires foreign correspondents to have a special permit for reporting in Kashmir.

In her tweet, she says that she is visiting Kashmir for a wedding, but she cannot report from there since Ministry of External Affairs and Home Ministry have not granted her the special permit ‘now’ required by foreign correspondents. She claims she had applied on 22nd June for the same. In subsequent tweets, she claims she is not sure why she would be ‘deported’ because she is trying to follow the ‘new enforcement rules regarding reporting in Kashmir’.

Gowen mentions how the government has put together new rules for foreign correspondents in India for reporting on Kashmir and how she is trying to follow these new rules. But the truth is far from what she is saying. The Foreign (Restricted Areas) Order, 1958 and Foreigners (Restricted Areas) Order, 1963, some areas have been declared as Protected and Restricted Areas for entry and stay of foreigners [pdf].

According to the Order, all the areas falling between the ‘inner line’ as defined in the said order, and the International Border of the State have been declared as Protected Area. Whole of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand have been declared as Protected Areas.

However, as per instructions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on 30.12.2010, the entire area of the States of Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland has been excluded from the Protected Area regime notified under the Foreigners (Protected Areas) Order 1958, initially for a period of one year w.e.f. 1.1.2011, which has been extended from time to time. This relaxation has been extended till 31.12.2022 subject to the conditions. You could read more about it here [pdf].

So, essentially, the order is not ‘new’ as claimed by Gowen. It is only being enforced more strictly now, and following law of the land should not be considered being ‘dictated’ by the Indian state. So, Gowen trying to spin it as new rules is not only factually incorrect (she’s a journalist) but also seems like an orchestrated attempt to paint that India is making sure outsiders don’t know about the situation in Kashmir. That begs an important question – when journalists from publications like The Wire, The Quint and Scroll hate the current government (and more often than not, their hate for the Prime Minister forces them to take a narrative which is detrimental to Indian interests) more than the foreign correspondents could. So, essentially, this ‘new rule’ would hardly achieve anything.

People like Barkha Dutt, whose irresponsible reporting during Kargil war had reportedly spooked the Indian Army, continue to report from Kashmir, one could only wonder what worse could foreign correspondents do.

Since these rules are not new, why is the issue being raked up now? Is it because the Ministry of Home Affairs has started stricter implementation of these rules? And if it is so, how come the previous governments did not enforce the rules, especially since the rules were made by their own government in the earlier years after India’s independence. And if the rules were not followed, why didn’t the previous governments remove them instead, since they are of hardly any use. But if the rules exist, one can’t complain if they are being imposed otherwise it would be like all these days you were allowed to jump the traffic light, but when the police finally challenge you, you complain that it’s wrong.

Remembering Udham Singh, the brave heart who avenged Jallianwala Bagh massacre

On 13th April 1919, troops of the British Indian Army fired upon a peaceful gathering in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar. Colonel Reginald Dyer, the acting military commander for Amritsar and its environs, blocked the exit, without warning the crowd to disperse and ordered the troops to fire upon the densest sections of the crowd. After about ten minutes of firing, about 1,650 rounds were spent. While the official figure of casualties was pegged at 379, the actual figure was a lot higher.

The incident led to condemnation and outrage and Rabindranath Tagore also renounced his British Knighthood as a mark of protest.

Udham Singh, born on 26th December 1899, held Michael D’wyer, who was the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab when Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place, responsible for the massacre. He was deeply influenced by Bhagat Singh and his revolutionary group, which, in 1928, in a bid to avenge Lala Lajpat Rai’s death, attempted to assassinate James A. Scott, the superintendent of police in Lahore who had ordered lathi charge and personally assaulted Lala Lajpat Rai. Unfortunately, in a case of mistaken identity, the plotters shot John P. Saunders, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, as he was leaving the District Police Headquarters in Lahore instead.

In 1924, Udham Singh got involved with Ghadar Party, a multi-ethnic party, which challenged the hold of British Empire and is also known for setting the foundation for future Indian revolutionary movements for the Indian independence movement. In 1927, on instructions from Bhagat Singh, Udham Singh returned to India bringing with him 25 associates as well as revolvers and ammunition. However, he was arrested for possession of unlicensed arms and was sentenced to five years in prison.

He was released in 1931, but his movements were constantly under surveillance. In 1934, he reached London where he worked as an engineer, while privately forming plans to assassinate Michael D’wyer. In Singh’s diaries for 1939 and 1940, he occasionally misspells O’Dwyer’s surname as “O’Dyer”, leaving a possibility he may have confused O’Dwyer with General Dyer, the one who actually led the troops.

On 13th March 1940 when Michael D’wyer was scheduled to speak at a joint meeting of the East India Association and the Central Asian Society at Caxton Hall, London, Udham Singh entered the hall with a revolver he had earlier purchased. As the meeting concluded, Singh shot O’Dwyer twice as he moved towards the speaking platform, with one bullet passing through his heart and right lunch, killing him instantly.

Udham Singh was arrested and tried for the killing. On 1st April 1940, he was formally charged with the murder of Michael D’wyer and while awaiting his trial, he went on a 42-day hunger strike where he had to be forcibly fed. Singh was convicted of murder and sentenced to death. On 31st July 1940, four months after he was charged for the murder, he was hanged at Pentonville Prison. Udham Singh’s remains are still preserved at the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar.

Heavily armed Muslim mob attacks Hindu man’s house after he elopes with a Muslim girl

A Muslim mob comprising of at least 200 people stormed the house of a Hindu man after he eloped with a Muslim girl, PTI has reported.

According to the report, the Hindu boy and Muslim girl had eloped on 29 June, following which the girl’s family had demanded that their daughter is sent back to them. This issue seems to have continued escalating which culminated in the girl’s family and her community members storming the boy’s house in Sanjeli village of Gujarat’s Dahod district on 21 July.

As a result of the attack, the boy’s father Prakash Bhoi filed a complaint with the Sanjeli police station. According to Sanjeli’s sub-inspector S N Bariya, the mob was armed with sticks and sharp weapons following which they set his multi-utility vehicle afire. The mob also burnt their neighbour’s bike.

Besides committing arson, the mob has also been accused of stoning, ransacking and looting the boy’s house. The mob is also believed to have stolen ornaments from their home.

As a result of the attack, Dahod’s Superintendent of Police has assured that the situation is under control and they were trying to trace the couple. The report has claimed that until now four people have been arrested namely Razak Baandi, Irshad Baandi, Saleha Baandi and Rashida Baandi, and efforts are being made to trace the remaining accused. The accused have been booked under sections pertaining to dacoity, rioting, arson and trespassing.

Incidentally, this isn’t the only time Hindus have had to bear the brunt of the Muslim community for having a relationship with a Muslim girl.

We had recently reported how a Dalit youth was killed for being in a relationship with a Muslim girl, following which the Muslim accused had boasted to the victim’s brother about killing him.

Besides this, in February a Hindu boy named Ankit Saxena was brutally murdered by the family of the Muslim girl he loved in Delhi. The family had reportedly taken this step after Ankit didn’t give in to their pressure to call off this relationship.

Just a few months before Ankit’s murder, a Hindu boy was murdered in similar fashion in Bihar for falling in love with a girl from Muslim family. Such a disapproval from the Muslim girl’s family against having such relationships has also resulted in the Hindu-Muslim couple choosing to kill themselves rather than parting ways.

Unfortunately, such violent attacks by Muslim mobs have also been witnessed when a Hindu boy was merely “caught” talking to a Muslim girl, who was his acquaintance.

Playing dress-up: After playing Krishna, Tej Pratap Yadav now dresses up as Lord Shiva

A video has surfaced where Tej Pratap Yadav is seen dressed up as Lord Shiva and blowing the Conch in Patna before leaving for Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar.

Tej Pratap Yadav, who seems in a race to be in the limelight, has yet again grabbed the attention when he was seen performing pooja to Lord Shiva at a temple in Bihar.

Tej Pratap performed pooja along with other priests and his supporters. He is even seen blowing a conch shell (shankha) and played damaru in a temple in Patna before leaving for Deoghar in Jharkhand for Kanwar yatra.

Kanwar Yatra is held every year Every year, during the month of Shravana or Saawan where lakhs of devotees travel to Deogarh on foot to visit the Baba Baidnath temple. Devotees offer Gangajal which they have collected from Sultanganj in Bihar. The devotees cover the 120 km distance from Sultanganj to Deoghar on foot.

This is not the first time that the elder son of Lalu is seen playing dress-up. Earlier, he was seen in Lord Krishna’s attire to celebrate the New Year. The school dropout former Bihar Health Minister had vacated his official residence claiming that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi have let the ghosts loose in the house.

Apart from his peculiar behaviour, Tej Pratap Yadav is also to set to make his Bollywood debut soon. The upcoming lead actor had tweeted the poster of his upcoming Hindi movie ‘Rudra – The Avatar’. Earlier, he was also part of an insignificant role in a Bhojpuri movie in 2016, when he was a cabinet minister.

He was also in the news recently for taking out a cycle-rally to protest against the rising crimes in Bihar and ended up tumbling and falling off the cycle on the streets of Patna.

Tej Pratap Yadav had once decided to quit politics, as his mother had scolded him for complaining about the RJD leaders of trying to harm his reputation. He had accused some RJD leaders of calling him ‘pagal’ and ‘sanki’ and later deleted the post and claimed that his Facebook account was hacked by BJP people.
