Congress Minister in Karnataka misbehaves in public, again

0

Karnataka Energy minister and senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar was seen slapping a young man who was trying to take a selfie with him. The incident happened in Bellary where the Congress minister was attending a public event. The man, hopeful of taking a selfie, had stepped up near him and took out his cellphone to click an image. Shivakumar noticed the man standing near him and slapped his hand which made him drop his phone.

This was not the first time the minister has shown his arrogance in public. In November last year, he had behaved in a similar manner when another person tried to take a selfie with him. That time too, the video had gone viral on social media and he had faced severe criticism.

Furthermore, Shivkumar had gone ahead to dismiss it as a ‘normal incident’.

Shivkumar came in news in August last year when the Income Tax department had raided his properties and premises of people linked with him in Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi. The raids continued for three days where Congress party had alleged that the central government is using the IT department as a weapon against its ministers.

Earlier in August 2017, Shivakumar had hosted 42 Congress MLAs in his ‘Eagleton-The Golf Village’ resort where the Congress party had flown them in order to avoid defection before Rajya Sabha polls. IT department had arrived in the resort and had taken Shivakumar for questioning. The Congress party had created a ruckus in the Parliament over the issue and had alleged that BJP was on a witch hunt against its party members. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had said in the parliament that Shivakumar had tried to tear off some important documents when I-T department arrived and the I-T officials managed to recover those documents.

Shivkumar’s behaviour has seen criticism in the social media .

The BJP and Congress are in intense campaigning mode for the Karnataka assembly elections and the minister’s behaviour in the public has brewed fresh troubles for Congress.

Bigoted user mocked for display of Hinduphobia on Twitter

0

An attendee of the TOI Bangalore litfest took to Twitter yesterday to vent her blatant Hinduphobia. She suggested that the Diya which is traditionally lighted during the inauguration of any event or ceremony, is problematic for Christians and Muslims as the ritual is deeply rooted in Hinduism.

Twitter users were quick to slam her for her Hinduphobia and point out her own intolerance and privilege.

Literature Festivals are usually a gathering of intellectuals who are fond of ruminating about the growing intolerance in the country from within the confines of their safe space where everyone more or less shares the same opinion on every political issue. But even for them, to provide a platform to such a Hinduphobe was indeed a new low.

Congress hints that only option available to opposition is to support Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister in 2019

0

If Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala is to be believed, Rahul Gandhi is all set to become lead the alliances for the 2019 General Elections. Stressing on the ‘unity of opposition’ he said Gandhi is the only person who is capable enough to lead a victory against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In an interview with Press Trust of India, Surjewala has reportedly said that the country wants to see Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Modi, Surjewala said that there are only two types of models in India, one which is Modi model, where Modi changes his clothes six times a day, other is Rahul Gandhi model, where focus is on simplicity and clarity.

Ironically the statement on clothes comes days after Gandhi was under fire for donning a designer jacket in Meghalaya. While Congress leader Renuka Choudhary dismissed it by saying that the Rs. 70,000 jacket Gandhi was wearing could even be found for Rs. 700, Congress disowned the jacket by calling it ‘borrowed’.

However recently, Surjewala’s statements seem to be a sneak preview of what is in store for 2019 elections as far as Congress’ approach is concerned. When the controversy had erupted over Rahul declaring himself as ‘non-Hindu’ at Somnath temple, Surjewala had addressed a press conference and declared that not only is Rahul Gandhi a Hindu, but a Janeu-dhari Hindu.

This was a hint about Congress adopting soft Hindutva as an electoral strategy, which worked for them in Gujarat where they scored a moral victory. Congress has since continued with its soft Hindutva strategy and of late has appeared confident after winning in Rajasthan by-elections.

Surjewala’s statement is a reflection of a confident Congress, which has sent a message that other parties have to play second fiddle to Rahul Gandhi. The statement also comes at a time when there have been reports of Shiv Sena deciding to go solo next year after meeting ‘brave and powerful leader’ Mamata Banerjee. This could be a clear sign to the likes of Mamata Banerjee and others who might be thinking of a bigger national role that Rahul Gandhi is the only acceptable choice.

Congress analyst caught spreading lies about PM Modi’s speech in Karnataka

0

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed a huge gathering of 2 lakh people in Bangalore’s Palace grounds, ahead of the crucial Karnataka elections. Here he was seen attacking the Siddaramaiah led Congress government by calling it a “10% commission government”. This rally by PM Modi marked the culmination of the state BJP’s Parivarthana Yatra.

The rally caught the attention of Pawan Khera, who is a political analyst working with the Congress party. Khera on Monday decided to attack PM Modi by claiming that he had spread misinformation in his rally:

After quoting a tweet by a certain Drajsuman Singh, Khera insinuated that Modi lied about the number of non electrified villages in Karnataka.

As per Khera, PM Modi said that there were a total of 7 lakh non electrified villages in the state, but Khera claimed, this was a lie as the number of total villages in the whole country were about 6.4 lakhs so Karnataka alone can’t have more villages than entire country put together.

So what is the truth of the matter, did PM Modi really say that? Here’s a video we created to help you understand the whole matter:

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5NTMm0AEH0]

So clearly, as noted from the video, PM Modi is clearly heard saying that there were 7 lakh households in Karnataka (and not 7 lakh villages as claimed by Khera), and 4 crore households in the whole country which are still bereft of electricity. Hence going by the actual video, PM Modi did not make a wrong statement in the rally, as was claimed by Khera.

This was also noticed by other twitter users:

Even though his lie was caught, Khera hasn’t apologised for his tweet or deleted his tweet, but has instead been re-tweeting some form of rebuttals to those who exposed him.

Political correctness will finish Hindus if they don’t learn from the past

0

Recently, the Minister of State for MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), Giriraj Singh said that social harmony will not remain if the population of Hindus dwindles steadily. The media picked this byte on a slow day and made it a prime time debate asking whether this was a ‘communal’ statement.

This provides an opportunity to see why political correctness will be the decisive blow to Hindus and possibly wipe them out of the Indian map.

Saraswati/Sharada is no longer worshipped in Kashmir

When I was a kid I was taught a Shloka.

नमस्ते शारदे देवी काश्मीरपुरवासिनि
त्वामहं प्रार्थये नित्यं विद्यादानं च देहि मे ॥
Namaste Shaarade Devii Kaashmiira-Pura-Vaasini
Tvaam-Aham Praarthaye Nityam Vidyaa-Daanam Ca Dehi Me

The shloka means : ‘Salutations to Sharada devi , the resident of Kashmir. Bestow the gift of knowledge to me.’ But after the exodus day (January 19, 1990) there is no place for Sharada / Saraswati in the Kashmir valley. Hindu temples have been demolished and those who worship her been kicked out. They have still not returned to their homes. Is the demographics of the state and the treatment meted out to Hindus a coincidence?

You’d be joking if you can’t see the religious war that culminated in a matter of 600 years in the valley. Prior to Muslim rule in Kashmir since 14th century, the population in the valley was largely Hindu. Over a period of time, majority of the valley was converted and those who did not convert were kicked out.

An elected leader discourages Durga Puja to appease her Muslim vote bank

“An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.” – Winston Churchill

The quote is most appropriate for all secular politicians including Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal. According to census 2011, 27% of the population in West Bengal follows Islam. However, in spite of Muslims being in a minority, the chief minister is more inclined to keep them in good humour rather than win the approval majority of the citizens in the state.

Her government ordered restrictions on immersion of Durga idols on October 1 last year as it would ‘clash’ with Muharram. The question is, will Muslims of West Bengal want a Hindu Chief minister named Mamata Banerjee once their population becomes more than 50% ? Will Hindus be allowed to live as freely as Muslims live in Bengal in future?

So what should Hindus do to prevent an impending obliteration?

Currently, the Hindus are confused like Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. They are unwilling to fight the destructive Islamist ideology and Christian missionaries in the name of ‘secularism’. The first step to be taken by Hindus is to stop believing in the false concept of ‘tolerance’ and ‘secularism’. The entire electorate must teach a lesson to all ‘secular’ parties to correct their stance on appeasement politics. That is happening to some extent already.

Hindus as a whole must realize that true social harmony and secularism will not come until Islamist ideologies prevalent in India are obliterated. There must be no state recognition for madrasas and Sharia law. A uniform civil code must be brought in as soon as possible. A lesson must be learnt from Australia where Sharia has not been recognised so far. The state must regulate madrasa education in order to make it compatible with modern democratic polity and human rights. This will be the starting process for weeding out all radical and communal ideologies that are presently existing in the Muslim community and increase chances of harmonious life in the society.

Christianity is also mounting a strategic onslaught on Hindu faith with foreign funding. Therefore, a strict law against conversions must be introduced. Conversions done by missionaries with money power must also be banned by law. It must be effectively implemented throughout the length and breadth of India.

Political will – need of the hour

Until and unless stark realities are accepted, there will be no possibility of a workable solution to the prevent another tragedy of Hindu obliteration as it has happened in Kashmir. Therefore we need politicians like Giriraj Singh who are not afraid to speak the reality as it is. The changes needed to safeguard Hinduism can be brought in within the framework of the existing constitution. Political will for bringing these changes is the need of the hour.

Ankit was murdered in a pre-planned way by his Muslim girlfriend’s family, eyewitnesses say

0

New details have emerged in the brutal murder case of Delhi boy Ankit Saxena. The 23-year-old photographer was killed by his Muslim girlfriend’s family members a few days ago in Delhi’s Raghuvir Nagar, because the family members were reportedly unhappy with their inter-religious love affair.

According to latest reports, the girl (identified as Shehzadi in reports) had fought with her family as she wanted to marry Ankit and had stormed out of her house. The girl’s family was vehemently against her being in love with a Hindu boy and they had sought revenge from Ankit.

Eyewitness accounts have suggested that Shehzadi’s mother wore a helmet and rode her scooter to the traffic intersection where they knew Ankit was present. She then rammed her scooter into Ankit’s vehicle so that Ankit would be forced to step out to help. As she was wearing a helmet, Ankit could not identify her and stepped out to help.

The woman then confronted Ankit and soon she was joined by her other family members. They all began to heckle and abuse Ankit blaming him that he had influenced Shehzadi to leave the house. A shop owner in the area has stated that when confronted by Shehzadi’s family, Ankit denied being in a relationship with her so that he is left alone. Another resident of the area has stated that Ankit even requested to call the police or be taken to police station, but the girl’s family just kept beating him.

Neighbours alerted Ankit’s parents of the incident and they had rushed to the spot. But Shehzadi’s mother began thrashing Ankit’s mother too who fell down. When Ankit bent down to help his mother get up, the girl’s uncle and brother then caught him by his hair and pulled him up. At that moment, while the two of them held Ankit’s arms from behind, the girl’s father slit his throat using his butchering knife.

The eyewitnesses stating the events of the day have requested media organisations not to identified them by their full names. They also added that Ankit did not die immediately after his throat being slit. He had walked a distance looking for help before he collapsed. Ankit died in his parents’ arms when they were rushing him to hospital. Police have arrested four members of the girl’s family, including a minor, for the murder.

Ankit was cremated in Haridwar, Uttarakhand on Sunday by his family members. He was reportedly lone earning member of the family. Delhi BJP leader Manoj Tiwari had earlier demanded monetary compensation of 1 crore rupees for Ankit’s family.

Madrasa teacher in Kashmir held for sexually assaulting a minor student

0

The Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested a madrasa teacher from the Baramulla district in North Kashmir, over charges of sexually assaulting a minor boy.

It has been alleged that a student of Madrasa Darul-Hudda situated in Nowpora Jageer village, was called by the accused teacher to his room after the morning prayer and then was sexually assaulted. The boy has alleged that this act took place while the other students were in the Masjid studying the Quran.

As per the complaint, this incident took place on 20th December, and has now come to light after the victim and his father registered a complaint in this matter on 28th January.

The police as a result recorded the witness statements and lodged a case against the madrasa teacher under section 377 and 506 of Ranbir Penal Code (RPC). Raids were later carried out to arrest the teacher, but he continued to evade arrest. He was finally nabbed on Sunday.

Such a case of sexually assaulting minor boys had also emerged from Kashmir last September.

It was reported that a local Maulvi in Kashmir had been accused of raping scores of minor boys under the pretext of summoning djinns and driving away ‘evil eye’. The Kashmir Police had booked Aijaz Shaikh, popularly known as Maulvi Saab amongst the locals, under section 377 of the state’s Ranbir Penal Code.

The madrasas too in the recent days have been under scrutiny over charges of its teachers sexually assaulting students.

In January, four Muslim clerics had been arrested from Bihar’s Purnia region for raping and murdering a minor girl who used to be a student there. As per the report, one of the accused raped her for over an year and when he discovered that she was pregnant, he and his accomplices decided to hatch a conspiracy to eliminate her.

In the same month it emerged that a few Muslim politicians from Maharashtra’s Marathwada region, were trying to save a Madrassa cleric who was accused of raping a 12 year old girl. Besides this, the cleric was also accused of molesting another minor. The politicians were later arrested.

In December, the UP police had raided a Madrasa in Lucknow’s Shahadatganj area, where girls were allegedly held hostage and molested by the Madarsa’s manager. A total of 51 girls were rescued by the police during the raid and the manager was also arrested.

Aaj Tak journalist claims AAP volunteers misbehaved with him

0

Aaj Tak journalist on Sunday claimed that Aam Aadmi Party volunteers misbehaved with him at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s rally at Karawalnagar in Delhi.

Journalist Ankit Yadav said that Kejriwal had come for the inauguration of a water treatment plant in Karawalnagar for the Delhi Jal Board, which is headed by Kejriwal. He said that in what was a department related program, lot of political sloganeering, including slogans against opposition parties, took place. When a journalist questioned the appropriateness of politicizing the department’s platform, AAP volunteers for miffed and started misbehaving and abusing journalists and tried to influence the reporting.

Ankit claims that after Kejriwal left the venue, the AAP volunteers created a ruckus and misbehaved with him while trying to influence reporting. He claims that AAP volunteers were not in a mood to hear critical feedback.

This is not the first time AAP workers have misbehaved with the press.

Misbehaving with or abusing those who disagree with them has been normalized by those associated with AAP since even their leaders, like Bhagwant Mann have indulged in such behaviour.

It will be interesting to see how Press Club of India will react to this alleged attack on media. In the past we have seen the Press Club behaving in ideologically biased manner. For example, when Republic TV journos were thrown out by leftists, one did not see a strong reaction from Press club. Not only were they silent, but many hailed the move by these bullies.

Social Media head of Congress criticized for cheap comment on PM Modi

0

Social media head of the Congress party made a controversial remark by asking if the prime minister was on ‘POT’. The comment, can be construed in several ways, but the insinuation regarding substance abuse cannot be ruled out. Pot is a common term for cannabis. It is the world’s most popular recreational drug (though it has applications in medicine as well). Cannabis can inhibit one’s sense and judgement when a person is under its influence.

This might hurt the Congress party immensely in the upcoming Karnataka elections as the Prime Minister is a very popular figure in the poll bound state. The prime minister had addressed a rally earlier in the day where he had said that TOP (Tomato, Onion & Potato farmers) were a top priority to his government.

The social media head tried to gloss over her gaffe by saying that she mean potato onion and tomato in of her replies. However this controversy may not end as smoothly as Congress party might wish,

The Congress party social media head was criticised by BJP for her ridiculous remark.

Several other users mocked the Congress chief while criticising Divya Spandana.

The damage has already been done. Congress supporters must be hoping that their party can behave better in future.

Despite NHRC’s disapproval, Yogi govt relentless in its encounters against notorious criminals

0

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is proving to be a thorn in the side of Yogi Adityanath’s drive to root out criminals and improve the law and order situation in the state which suffered from high rates of crime all these years. Till January, the state government had received as many as 9 notices from the NHRC on a range of issues.

The NHRC has questioned Yogi Adityanath’s approval of encounters as a policy towards restoring the law and order situation in the state. The NHRC had taken an objection to Yogi Adityanath’s remark that “criminals will be jailed or killed in encounters”.

In its statement on the matter, the commission seemed to admit that they have no solid reason to assume there has been a violation of human rights under the government but decided to take suo moto cognizance of the Chief Minister’s statement because they believed such an ‘endorsement’ of killing in encounters “may” lead to abuse of power.

A notice was also issued to the chief secretary of UP after dreaded gangster Sumit Gurjar, who had a bounty of Rs. 50000 on his head, was killed in an encounter, which was alleged as ‘fake encounter’ by some.

Spokesperson of the BJP, Shalabh Mani Tripathi had suggested that the NHRC should show some solidarity towards the policemen martyred during these encounters.

“Human Rights commission is a constitutional institution and we respect it. The commission is doing its job and the government is also doing its job. It is correct that the commission takes cognizance of the death of criminals and checks whether human rights were violated or not. But at the same time, our police personnel are also being martyred in encounters with criminals. I hope the commission will show some solidarity with them too,” he had remarked.

However, Yogi Adityanath seems resolved to carry forward with the current policy of his government towards crime. Until the 31st of December, 30 notorious criminals were eliminated by the police force and over 2000 criminals were arrested including 1688 accused who carried rewards. As many as 15 encounters were conducted in the space of 48 hours in February which led to the arrests of 24 wanted criminals and the death of a gangster.
