AIMIM’s Uttar Pradesh president Shaukat Ali triggered a political storm in Moradabad by urging Muslims to reject population control. Coining the slogan "Hum Do, Hamare Do Dozen," Ali argued that a larger population strengthens the nation, citing China as a global example.

Basti police arrested AIMIM leader Ajfarul Haq for allegedly running a large-scale exploitation and forced conversion racket. Haq reportedly posed as a Hindu to trap women, with the victim claiming nearly 300 others were targeted by his family-run network.

The victim claimed that the group forcefully entered the premises and assaulted his family members.
