The workers of the radical pro-Khalistan outfit, Waris Punjab De, not only demand the release of Amritpal Singh, but also 20 others known as “Bandi Sikhs”. 

Amritpal Singh remains lodged in Dibrugarh Central Jail though Punjab government has revoked the NSA. He has again sought permission to attend Parliament, saying nearly 20 lakh constituents need their concerns raised before the House during Monsoon Session.

Screenings were reported in villages of Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran and Moga. Zee5 had urged people not to watch pirated copies while Diljit Dosanjh had said viewers would already have downloaded it by then.

It must be recalled that influencer Kanchan Kumari’s dead body was found inside a car in the parking area of Adesh University in Bathinda on 11th June 2025. Two suspects, Jaspreet Singh and Nimratjit Singh, were arrested while the main accused, Amritpal Singh Mehron, had fled to the UAE.

Singh usually dressed similarly to Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and is linked with pro-Khalistani activities.
