A group of female students at a private engineering college in Telangana's Medchal Malkajgiri district staged a protest on Thursday, accusing hostel staff of recording them in the bathroom, police said.
Patori Police DSP BK Medhavi meanwhile took cognizance of the event and said that a detailed investigation into the case would be conducted. She said that the office was unaware of the incident until the video appeared on social media.
A case has been registered against Zahid under several sections including POCSO. The college management has also suspended him. Further investigations are underway.

A division bench of the high court, comprising Justice Revati Mohite Dere and Justice PK Chavan, heard Sunil's appeal against the Kolhapur Sessions Court's death sentence verdict. The convict also did not appeal against his conviction and the death penalty.
