Madras High Court judge has said that the Constitution of India will cease to exist if the country’s 'demographic profile' is changed.

Madras High Court has said in a 2021 order, "Merely because one religious group is dominating in a particular locality, it cannot be a ground to prohibit celebrating religious festivals or taking processions of other religious groups through those roads."

A motivated group of 21 advocates wrote to the Indian President in the hopes of jeopardising the career prospects of Victoria Gowri.

Victoria Gowri is appointed as an additional judge along with four others inside the library room of the Madras High Court.

The Madras HC observed that the temples should be preserved with the primary focus being on how they have traditionally operated because they have played a significant part in the development of society and civilisation

The High Court also stated that whether a person who has converted to another religion is eligible for community reservation is a matter before the Supreme Court. As a result, it will not be appropriate for the High Court to decide on the matter.
