Though this time these post-Friday prayer protests have been tucked away behind the pretext of CAB, violence after Friday Muslim prayers are not uncommon

The Uttar Pradesh administration for all this while has been quite stringent, forbidding all religious events including namaz, on roads in various parts of the state.

Aligarh DM issued an order to ban all religious events from on roads after a group started organising “Maha Aarti” on Tuesdays and Saturdays as a protest against road-blocking on Friday Namaz.

The fight escalated after an altercation over cricket turned violent and madarsa kids were allegedly beaten up.

These protests are being organised in a bid to put pressure on the state administration to prevent the Friday Namaz on roads which block traffic.

BJYM says as long as the Friday namaz offering on the roads will last, they will continue the Hanuman Chalisa recital on roads every Tuesdays

The scuffle broke out when the pillion rider on a bike slapped a pump staffer when he was asked to get back in the queue and wait for his turn. The riders allegedly kicked the staffers and called for help to attack the petrol pump.

Last year the Madras High Court had ruled that public places cannot be encroached upon for the purpose of offering prayers

In East Delhi, on the occasion of Eid, a speeding car had caused Namazis to riot and damage public property.

Agitated at bhajan-kirtan the Muslim mob cut off the wire of the loudspeaker and even removed the idols and threw them.
