The Allahabad High Court rejected Bhojpuri singer Neha Singh Rathore's anticipatory bail application over her posts on PM Modi and the Pahalgam terror attack. The court cited the need for reasonable limits on free speech to maintain public order, noting her posts were disrespectful and made during a sensitive time.
A Bench of Justices J.K. Maheshwari and Vijay Bishnoi made it clear that the top court was not inclined to interfere at this stage, effectively allowing the criminal proceedings to go on.
She had also written that instead of finding terrorists and admitting its mistake, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wanted to plunge the country into war.
