A German court has sentenced two Afghan terrorists linked to terror organisation Islamic State to several years in prison for planning an attack on the Swedish Parliament and plotting to kill policemen.

Iraqi activist Salwan Momika, known for his strident criticism of Islam and organizing Quran burnings, was shot dead on January 30.

Mårten Schultz, a legal commentator commented in the case that Sweden would become an unsafe place to stay if it appeared that alleged religious criticism led to Momika's death.

Salwan Momika rose to fame after he set fire to a copy of Quran in front of Stockholm's main mosque on June 28th, 2023, the first day of the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha.

The FIR copy filed in the case mentioned that the accused had hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslim community. Imran, in the video, indicated that Islam was never a peaceful religion and that the people following it are committing a mistake.

According to the Algerian Ministry, Rasmussen described these acts as intolerable and unacceptable. The Danish Minister stressed that these acts were intrinsically contrary to the traditions of hospitality, openness, and tolerance that are firmly rooted in Danish society, the statement said.
