Chitkara University has suspended academic classes for a week at its Rajpura campus following intense student protests

Hundreds of students protested late at night at Punjab’s Chitkara University, claiming a female student had committed suicide and that the hostel was haunted.

The Board of Governors also considered the demands raised by students and is learnt to have accepted most of them, except those seeking resignations.

The IIT Bombay professor and others have been accused of making "provocative social media posts" in the Sahil Wakode suicide case.

According to the authorities, the Bombay IIT professor's statement matched the CCTV camera's recoding.

If this 'apology' by IIT Bombay was not enough, it has now come to light that the deanship of Professor Suryanarayana Doolla has been suspended with immediate effect. This is in addition to the Director's acceptance of the 18-point charter of demands by the protestors.
