The remarks came a day after Udhayanidhi Stalin once again repeated his earlier comments about “eradicating” Sanatan Dharma during a discussion in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Tuesday, 12th May.
Udhayanidhi Stalin again called for Sanatan Dharma’s eradication in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, months after the Madras High Court called his 2023 remarks hate speech.
Justice S Srimathy said, “There is a clear attack on Hinduism by the Dravida Kazhagam, and subsequently, along with the DMK, for the past 100 years, to which the minister belongs. While considering the overall circumstances, it is seen that the petitioner had questioned the hidden meaning of the minister’s speech."
On March 4 last year, the apex court frowned upon Stalin over his remarks calling for the eradication of 'Sanatana Dharma' and told him that he is "not a layman but a minister" and he should know the consequences of his remarks.
