Hindu families have lost their homes and livelihoods in Murshdiabad. Their water tanks have been poisoned and they have been subjected to both rape and death threats. The Hindus, fearing for the safety and security of their families, had to flee to the neighbouring Malda district.
"I am living with you. You live next door to me. Suddenly, one morning, I come up and I kill you. So, unless there is a provocation, this never happens with a certain interest," claimed 'journalist' Nirmalya Mukherjee on Newslaundry.
The West Bengal police, which have failed to protect Hindus in riot-torn Murshidabad, prevent the destruction of their homes and properties, and stop the exodus of victims to the nearby Malda district, is now acting as the 'mouthpiece' of the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
A relative named Chitradeep Das informed The Indian Express, “Today (17th April) was the shradh ceremony. We had asked a purohit (priest). But he said he can’t come because it is a security issue.”
Journalist Pankaj Prasoon was heard saying, "They have made these markings so that rioters can know which house needs to be bombed and which house needs to be set ablaze."
BJP came to help the victims when the administration failed to do so in the face of Islamist violence. Led by leaders like Suvendu Adhikari and Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury, the party has helped Hindus at every level.
