Sexual exploitation of women, corruption and arrogance: AAP Punjab MLA levelled serious allegations on party leadership

Earlier, former AAP leader Gurpreet Ghuggi had alleged that he was replaced as Punjab AAP convenor because he was raising his voice against the corruption and activities of women harassment by Delhi leaders.

AAP Punjab MLA form Jaitu constituency, Baldev Singh had yesterday resigned from the party’s primary membership. In his letter, as per reports, Baldev Singh has alleged that the party under Arvind Kejriwal has given up its basic ideology and principles. Singh also accused Kejriwal of being ‘dictatorial and arrogant’.

Baldev Singh is the second MLA to quit the party this month. On January 6, MLA Sukhpal Khaira had resigned.

Singh has reportedly written in his resignation letter to party chief Kejriwal, “As a result of your dictatorial, arrogant and autocratic style of functioning, pioneers of AAP liPrashantant Bhushan, Yogendra Yadav, Medha Patkar, Kiran Bedi, Dr. Gandhi, H S Khalsa, Sucha Singh Chottepur, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Ashish Khetan, Ashutosh, HS Phoolka etc. have all left the party or have been thrown out in a humiliating manner,”

Lawyer and activist HS Phoolka had also quit from the party recently after resigning from his assembly seat. Baldev Singh, who is likely to join the newly formed Punjab Ekta Party launched by Khaira, has also called out Kejriwal for “Flirting with the Congress” and has called it ‘sheer political opportunism’.

Baldev Singh has reportedly also alleged that during the Punjab elections, the Delhi AAP leaders had indulged in rampant ticket selling and sexual exploitation of women. Rebel AAP MLA and former Delhi minister Kapil Mishra has Tweeted about it.

Mishra stated that former AAP MLA Gurpreet Ghuggi had also made similar allegations against the AAP leaders while quitting the party.

AAP Punjab leader Gurpreet Ghuggi had quit the party in May 2017 after Kejriwal had decided to appoint controversial leader Bhagwant Mann as AAP Punjab chief replacing Ghuggi.

Ghuggi had also made similar allegations against the leaders of AAP Delhi. He had reportedly alleged corruption and harassment of women on AAP Delhi leaders. Ghuggi had alleged that he was replaced as Punjab AAP convenor because he was raising his voice against the corruption and activities of women harassment by Delhi leaders.

AAP has seen many senior and founding leaders quitting the party in its short life span. Known for his frequent U-turns and also frequent apologies after giving derogatory statements, Arvind Kejriwal is now reportedly all set to form a pre-poll alliance with Congress with Shiela Dixit as its chief. Kejriwal had launched his political career on a foundation of standing up to the corruption of Sheila Dixit and her Congress government.
