Mahfuz Alam, who serves as an ‘adviser’ to the Muhammad Yunus-led interim government of Bangladesh, has threatened to capture India on the occasion of Vijay Diwas.
In a Facebook post on Monday (16th December), the Islamist first tried to create popular discontentment between people living in Eastern India and those residing in Northern India based on culture.
Alam suggested that the culture of people in Eastern India and Bangladesh are ‘same’ irrespective of religion. He then claimed that East Pakistan was created due to the ‘anti-Bengal attitude’ of upper castes and ‘Hindu fundamentalists’.
Mahfuj Alam, special aide to Dr. #Yunus and Advisor of Interim Govt made a Facebook post this morning in which he talked of annexing some of India's eastern and northeastern territories (see the map shared by him).

He alleged that #India maintains a "contain" and "ghettoize"… pic.twitter.com/nkvDVzRDRQ
“India has adopted a contain and ghettoize programme…To ensure true independence from India, we had to carry out 1975 and 2024,” Mahfuz Alam claimed.
For the unversed, 18 family members of Bangladesh’s founder Mujibur Rehman were assassinated in 1975 while his daughter Sheikh Hasina was undemocratically ousted as Prime Minister in 2024.
“The gap between the two events is 50 years. But nothing changed. We are trapped by geography and system. We will now need a new geography and system,” he claimed hinting at India’s annexation.
Advisor to Yunus govt wants Bangladesh to annex parts of India
Mahfuz Alam claimed that a ‘truncated, contained, ghettoized’ Bangladesh will never be able to achieve true freedom and emphasised the need to get out of the cage.
“The life of Bangladesh today is seeking liberation through the sacrifice of martyrs in 2024. And this is just the beginning, not the end. The leadership of this coup knows that their fight is not over,” he continued.
“They are still ready to give their lives to finish this fight. Yet, may the final victory and liberation be hastened by our martyrdom! Bangladesh is the starting point, not the endpoint,” he further brazened out.
The Islamist posted a map of Bangladesh, which spread deep into the Indian States of West Bengal, Assam and Tripura.
Mahfuz Alam deletes his Facebook rant
Mahfuz Alam, the ‘adviser’ to the Muhammad Yunus-led interim government of Bangladesh, later realised that his open admission of sinister territorial expansion of Bangladesh could lead to diplomatic issues.
Within 2 hours of sharing his fantasy of annexing India, he quietly deleted his tweet. Mahfuz Alam had previously served as a ‘special assistant’ to Muhammad Yunus.
In September this year, Yunus hailed Mahfuz Alam as the ‘brain’ behind the sinister campaign to remove Sheikh Hasina from power. He made the remarks during the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City of USA.
