Pakistani panellist pulls out a gun during live debate with Arnab Goswami on Republic TV, threatens to kill POK activist, video viral

A dramatic moment during a live television debate on Tuesday, 9th June, quickly went viral on social media after a Pakistani panellist appeared to display a pistol on camera during a discussion with Indian journalist Arnab Goswami.

The incident took place during an episode of The Debate with Arnab Goswami, where the discussion focused on deteriorating the situation in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), incidents of the Pakistani military’s atrocities in the region and other issues. The debate featured participants from both India and Pakistan and soon turned heated as arguments intensified.

During the discussion, Pakistani panellist Major Shaikh M. Nadeem was questioned about security and intelligence activities. As the exchange became increasingly tense, he appeared to reach off-camera and then showed a gun during the live broadcast. He was seen threatening the POK activist who was also a part of the debate, saying, “For people like you, we keep this.” The unexpected act immediately grabbed attention and left viewers surprised.

The moment quickly spread across social media platforms, with clips from the debate being widely shared. Instead of backing down, Arnab Goswami strongly criticised the move and continued the discussion. Reacting to the display of the weapon, he argued that such actions reflected a lack of answers to the questions being raised during the debate. “This is the ultimate sign of desperation being displayed. This is the extreme limit of hate. You have shown a revolver in my program. If you shoot, u will only hurt your camera. Probably, he has been told by the Pakistani Army that he is no longer useful for the ISI and he can be ‘offed’ any time. Maybe that is why he keeps a gun with him.”
