A shocking case of medical negligence has come to light in Alvi Nursing Home in Loni, Ghaziabad, where, during a surgery for the removal of the gall bladder, a vein of the patient was severed, leading to deterioration in her health. The incident was reported by a YouTube channel named Delhi Uptodate News.
Speaking to the channel, Noor Saba, the patient who got her gall bladder removed at Alvi Nursing Home, narrated her ordeal. Noor Saba, a resident of Kardam Puri in Delhi’s Shahadara, said she underwent surgery for the removal of her gall bladder at the nursing home on February 17, 2026. However, she developed complications 15-20 days after the surgery. She visited the nursing home again to get herself checked.
After a check-up at the nursing home, Noor Saba was informed that she has been diagnosed with jaundice. She was admitted there for two days, but the doctors could not explain to her the cause of jaundice, and her health also did not improve. As a result, she went to another hospital for consultation, where she was told that her condition was a result of a severed vein. The doctor at the other hospital informed her that a vein inside her body was severed during her surgery, which led to symptoms of jaundice. To repair the severed vein, Saba had to undergo another surgery, after which her condition improved.
Saba went to Alvi Nursing Home and demanded accountability for the negligence shown during her surgery. Instead of taking accountability, Dr Nadeem and his associates at the nursing home told her that it was Allah’s will. When Noor Saba confronted the doctors and said that she could have lost her life due to their negligence, Dr Nadeem told her to settle the matter for ₹500 to ₹1,000.
The complainant filed a complaint with the SDM, after which the CMO summoned Dr Nadeem to seek his response. However, Dr Nadeem denied all accountability for the negligence. The victim is demanding compensation from the nursing home.
