BJP is expected to register an electoral win in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. A recent survey by News Leader Live and Matrize News Communications predicted that the BJP alliance in the state is likely to remain in power. The survey released region-wise data only for the Bundelkhand and Awadh regions for the upcoming assembly elections.
According to the survey, the BJP alliance will emerge stronger in the Bundelkhand and the Awadh regions. It predicted that the BJP might win 77 of the 118 seats in the Awadh region, compared with the projected 40 for the Samajwadi Party alliance. Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is predicted to get one seat in the region.
In the Bundelkhand region, the survey has predicted a near sweep for the BJP alliance. It has projected 17 seats for the alliance out of the total 19 seats and two seats for the SP alliance. The BSP and other parties are not likely to get any seats in the region, as per the survey.
The data also gives a District-wise breakdown of the projected results for the assembly elections. As per the data, BJP is likely to win 1 seat in Raebareli, while the SP alliance is predicted to win 5 seats. In Sitapur, the BJP is likely to surpass the SP alliance with 6 seats, while the latter might get 3 seats. The survey shows the BJP alliance making similar leads in Lucknow and Lakhimpur Kheri. In Lucknow, the BJP alliance is expected to win 9 seats, and the SP alliance is projected to win none. The BJP alliance is predicted to win 6 seats in Lakhimpur Kheri compared to 3 projected seats for the SP alliance.
The BJP alliance is projected to get favourable poll results in Jhansi, Bahraich, Hardoi and Unnao as well. According to the survey, the BJP alliance is likely to win all 4 assembly seats in Jhansi, 8 seats in Hardoi and 6 seats in Unnao. In Bahraich, the BJP is expected to win 5 seats, and the SP alliance may win 2 seats. The 2 assembly seats in Chitrakoot are projected to split equally between the BJP and the SP alliances. The BJP is likely to lose its Unchahar assembly seat.
Since the survey data is limited to the Bundelkhand and Awadh regions, it does not present a whole picture of the expected poll outcomes of the state. However, it does indicate a favourable trend for the BJP alliance in the state.
The survey follows an opinion poll conducted by Vote Vibe last month. In the opinion poll, voters were asked their voting preferences for the upcoming state assembly elections. 41.8% of the people surveyed favoured the BJP alliance while 38.7% chose the Samajwadi Party-led alliance. A minuscule 5.2% preferred the BSP while 4% supported other parties. Around 10.3% of those surveyed could not form an opinion.
