Siwet Tomar has been evicted from the reality show Rise and Fall 2 just two days after the show began, following a physical altercation with Shehzad Poonawalla. The incident happened after Siwet assaulted Shehzad Poonawalla following a heated argument.

A video circulating online shows Siwet charging towards Shehzad during the argument. He grabbed Shehzad from behind by the neck, pushed him and tore his kurta. Shehzad did not hit back or get physically involved in the fight. His kurta was torn during the incident.
Why did Siwet and Shehzad fight?
The fight reportedly started during a task in which the contestants staying in the penthouse were asked to name someone they felt was not capable of becoming the ultimate ruler.
Shehzad chose Siwet and explained that he felt Siwet blindly followed whatever Karan Patel told him. The comment did not sit well with Siwet, and the argument quickly became heated; Siwet called Shehzad a “sewak”.
Shehzad questions Siwet’s sudden change
The argument also brought up Siwet’s changing stance on Swara Bhasker.
Earlier, Siwet had said that he would not speak to Swara until she apologised for her remarks about Rajput women, which were linked to her comments on the Jauhar scene in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2018 film Padmaavat. He had made it clear that he was against Swara over the remarks.
However, Siwet later flipped from his decision and was seen siding with Swara Bhasker. He was also seen sitting and interacting with her, despite his earlier stance.
Shehzad questioned this sudden change and pointed to what he saw as Siwet’s double standards. The discussion around Siwet’s new equation with Swara added to the tension. Swara also stepped in and asked Shehzad not to call Siwet “double standards”.
The situation then escalated, with Siwet losing his temper and assaulting Shehzad. Following the incident, Siwet was evicted from Rise And Fall 2.
What did Swara Bhasker say about Jauhar?
Actor Swara Bhasker’s comments came during an event at the India International Centre in Delhi on August 31, where she spoke about her 2018 open letter to filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali regarding Padmaavat.
Recalling the film’s Jauhar sequence, Bhasker spoke about the scene in which hundreds of Rajput women, led by Rani Padmavati, played by Deepika Padukone, enter the fire. She described the sequence as visually striking and emotionally intense but said it left her uncomfortable.
Bhasker said she wondered what the scene would communicate to a woman who had survived rape. She questioned whether such a portrayal could make a rape survivor feel that she should have died to protect her honour.
She also questioned the idea that rape should be treated as the end of a woman’s life. Referring to a close-up of a pregnant woman heading towards the funeral pyre, she said she was particularly disturbed by the sequence and questioned its message about women and their right to live.
Bhasker said these concerns led her to write an open letter to Bhansali in 2018. She also recalled that The Wire used her phrase “felt like vagina” as its headline while reporting on the letter.
