Don’t criticise stubble burning, hold ‘Yagna’ to please Lord Indra instead: UP Minister Sunil Bharala

Uttar Pradesh Minister Sunil Bharala today urged people not to criticise those who are burning stubble. He said that stubble burning is a tradition and instead of criticising, the government should hold ‘Yagna’ and please Lord Indra.

“Parali (stubble) is an attack on farmers. Those born from farmer families do not understand that when a farmer harvests the crop, waste crop is created. Whether it is urad dal or moong daal, it will have wastage. It has always been burnt. If it is burnt, it will create some smoke. That does not increase pollution. That is a natural system of farmers. This attack on farmers is unfortunate. The government should hold a ‘Yagna’ and pray to Lord Indra so it rains and things will be taken care of,” he said.

Fact check: Viral WhatsApp message claiming terrorists are injecting people with AIDS virus is fake

0

A message has gone viral on WhatsApp saying that terrorists are spreading AIDS by injecting people, which is fake according to UP police. The Twitter handle of UP Police fact check said that they completely deny this report, and requested people not to share this misleading information.

UP Police was responding to a query by a local news outlet from Pratapgarh asking to verify the authenticity of the message which has gone viral on WhatsApp. The message in Hindi said, “if some boys and girls come to your house and say that they are medical students and they offer to do sugar and BP and any other blood test free, then please call the police immediately because they are members of terrorist organisation and their injections have AIDS virus which they will inject into your body in the name of collecting blood. Do not let any unknown person enter your house. Issued in public interest.” The message also asks the recipients to share it as much as possible.

UP Police has confirmed that this is fake news which is being spread by certain WhatsApp groups. They said that they completely dent this allegation, and have asked people not to share this misleading post.

This is not the first time this message is circulating on social media. In 2017 to this message had appeared saying that it was issued by UP Police. But the UP police had denied issued any such advisory.

Piyush Goyal slams Sonia Gandhi over her remarks on RCEP and FTAs, reminds her of UPA’s record on the issue

In a series of tweets, Union Minister for Railways and Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal came down heavily upon Congress President Sonia Gandhi for her remarks against the proposed Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and China.

Sonia Gandhi had said such an agreement between the two countries would deal a body blow to the Indian economy. “We can ill-afford to become a dumping ground. India being made a dumping ground of Chinese goods is catastrophic. In the past 72 years, no country has signed FTA with China,” she had said.

Piyush Goyal questioned the UPA government for joining RCEP talks with China in 2011-12. He said that the Congress supremo has only now awakened to RCEP and FTAs. He highlighted the fact that India already has FTAs with ASEAN countries, Malayasia, South Korea and Japan.

Piyush Goyal also reminded Sonia Gandhi that the UPA government itself had explored the possibility of an FTA with China in 2007. He also slammed the erstwhile government for opening up 74% of the Indian market to a richer country like Indonesia while they had opened up only 50% of their own market to India.

Piyush Goyal also emphasized the fact that the government will make a decision based on what is best for India. He reiterated that it must be a “win-win” situation for both countries and the government will make any decision based on the interests of the Indian people.

Opposition leaders are criticising the government’s move to sign Free Trade Agreement under RCEP. The RCEP is a proposed free trade agreement (FTA) between the ten member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) ( Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam) and its six FTA partners (China, Japan, India, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand).

According to the government, this agreement will be beneficial for India. Data provided by the government show that India’s trade deficit was on a rise due to FTAs signed by previous governments. Officials have pointed out that India’s trade balance is turning more unfavourable for most FTAs. It has doubled since 2011 to Rs 12.86 trillion in 2018-19.

The proposed deal seeks to reverse this trend. For example, during a meeting earlier in October, India had negotiated a 10% advantage over China for tariff removal. This advantage for India will mean that its exporters can access 10% more Chinese product lines without facing tariff barriers. Union government has been assuring that the interests of the domestic industry will be given priority while negotiating the RCEP.

Intelligence reports say Jaish-e-Mohammad, Lashkar planning large-scale terror attacks in winter

0

The desperate Pakistani sponsored Islamic terror groups Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) are preparing to launch large-scale terror strikes against India in the coming winter, according to the latest intelligence reports.

Reportedly, the terror attacks are aimed at preventing the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir’s return to normalcy and also to test the strength of the Narendra Modi government.

The Hindustan Times reported that the inputs conveyed to the government by intelligence agencies suggest that the Jaish leadership has asked its trained and indoctrinated terrorists to report at its Markaz Usman-o-Ali headquarters at Bahawalpur this week as a precursor to possible Fidayeen attacks in India.

JeM chief Masood Azhar, who is bed-ridden and his younger brother or de facto chief Mufti Abdul Rauf Asghar are presently at Bahawalpur. The inputs indicate that LeT’s commander Abu Uzail has claimed that India would soon face a deadly suicide attack.

Further, the inputs also say that Pakistan-sponsored terror groups will attempt to send their cadres across the Line of Control (LoC) after October 26 – the day that Jammu and Kashmir’s erstwhile ruler signed the instrument of accession that made the former princely state a part of India.

As far as now, the Union government and security agencies have managed to keep the region out of any attacks, but national security planners believe that the Pakistan-based groups will attempt a strike this winter to prove their relevance and dominance.

On August 5, in a historic act, the Indian parliament had passed laws and resolutions to split the region of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union territories — Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and abrogated Article 370.

Reportedly, the Pakistani General Headquarters (GHQ) at Rawalpindi, the nerve Centre of the Pakistani armed forces and terror apparatus emanating from the country, has apparently given the green signal to infiltration of Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists into India.

According to the Indian security agencies, due to the counter-insurgency grid that is currently placed in the region since August 5 and the risk of interception of its cadre by Indian security forces at the border, there has been little or no Jaish infiltration in the Sialkot sector over the past three months.

The intelligence reports have specifically highlighted the movement of 20 Jaish cadres, led by seven Afghan commanders, towards the forward launching pads across the LoC in Pakistan for possible infiltration into the Valley. Incidentally, the same cadres were detained by the Pakistan army in the second week of October and sent back to their camp at Balakot, Manshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Currently, the Islamic terrorists that are active in the Valley including mixed cadres led by the Jaish are trying to create terror by selectively targeting outsiders. Meanwhile, the LeT leadership has again become active with Hafiz Saeed’s number two Abdul Rehman Makki delivering the Friday sermon from Jamaat-ud-Dawa Markaz Al Qadsia, Lahore on October 18. Makki, who carries a bounty of $2 million on his head, made his first public appearance to deliver the sermon after his arrest on May 15, 2019.

The arrest and detention of LeT leaders is a bit of an eyewash with LeT chief Hafiz Saeed, Makki, Zafar Iqbal – the head of education wing, Yahya Aziz – spokesperson, finance heads Haji Ashraf and Mohammed Bhutvi all under house arrest or detention at the Qadsia mosque at Chowburji in Lahore rather than any Pakistani prison.

Pakistan Army wants to ‘get rid’ of Imran Khan and may replace him with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari: Reports

As Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan failed to “charm” both US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Pakistan Army is making plans for replacing Imran Khan with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as the PM of the country, reports Sunday Guardian.

Reportedly, it seems that even China, considered to be an “all-weather ally” of Pakistan, seems to have lost trust in Imran Khan. Imran Khan is also losing support from all sides, which was displayed during the “Azadi March” held from Karachi to Islamabad, demanding his resignation.

On Friday, the so-called “Azadi March“, led by Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Fazl’s (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to call for overthrowing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, reached Islamabad from Karachi. Interestingly, the rally was addressed by Pakistan’s Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as well, who termed Imran as a “puppet”.

According to Pakistani media reports, Imran Khan asked in a rally regarding Bhutto joining hands with a right-wing Islamist party. Rehman has been alleging that Imran is a “selected” and not an “elected” PM. According to him, the elections which brought him to power were rigged.

Bhutto’s father, Asif Ali Zardari is also jailed by Imran Khan regime on corruption charges. Bhutto had recently accused Khan of trying to murder his father by not providing healthcare facilities.

It is believed that the kind of response the march is getting would not have been possible without the active support of the Pakistan Army. “We need to remember that the protest march is not only getting the support of the Bhutto’s PPP and Nawaz Sharif’s PML-N, but also a large number of people from across the country,” said a source to Sunday Guardian.

The ongoing “Azadi March” is similar to the “Inqilab March” in 2014, which was spearheaded by Tahir-ul-Qadri Quadri, joined by Imran Khan with his “Azadi March” against the Nawaz Sharif government at that time. The experts believe that Pakistan has come a full circle since then as Nawaz Sharif was at the receiving end during 2014, but this time it is Imran Khan who is facing heat from radical and fringe players.

Former diplomat Kanwal Sibal, responding to the situation said, “Yes, it is an alarming bell. Fazlur Rahman is giving Imran Khan a taste of his own medicine by organising his Azadi March to oust him from power. Imran Khan had used these tactics against the Nawaz Sharif government. The bad blood between the Maulana and Imran Khan rooted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa politics is well-known. Apart from an element of personal vendetta, the Maulana is capitalising on the situation of economic distress in Pakistan.”

Another source to Sunday Guardian said that not only has Imran Khan failed to set the economy right, he has also not been able to sell to the US as well as the other Western countries Pakistan’s fake narrative of the Kashmir issue.

“There is huge resentment against Imran, who has become one of the most unpopular leaders of Pakistan and therefore, Pakistan Army, which had supported him once with great hopes, is feeling let down. His much-hyped visit to the US where he addressed the United Nations meet, turned out to be a total fiasco. He could not convince the global community about his narrative on Kashmir. That is why, it wants to get rid of him and prop up Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in his place,” the source said to the Sunday Guardian.

It is being said that the march could be beginning of the end of the Imran regime. The Pakistan Army has already taken control of the economy. In fact, Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa had called a meeting of the all the top industrialists and business leaders soon after Imran’s return from US visit last month, in which the Prime Minister was absent. According to experts, this was a clear indication that Imran is gradually being sidelined in the complex power set in Pakistan.

Bihar: People object to ‘Muslim community’ named as mischief makers in Chhath Puja notification, DM says, we say it as it is

Ahead of Chhath Puja Mahaparv in Bihar, Madhepura District Magistrate (DM) in an order issued to local police and administration had warned against attempts by ‘mischievous elements of Muslim community’ which may cause communal tension during the Chhath Puja celebrations.

The alert issued on 31st October 2019 stated that there have been incidents of communal tension on routes used by devotees which pass through Muslim-dominated colonies. “Some mischievous elements of Muslim community also harass and eve tease the women during Chhath Puja,” the letter said. RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha expressed his objections over the letter.

This alert issued had upset people and the state home department had said they will look into the matter. As reported by Indian Express, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Amir Subhani said that the letter was inadvertently phrased. Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey felt that the tone of the letter should have been changed.

Clarifying his position on the alert, DM Shukla said that the order was based on intelligence inputs and other districts would have also issued such orders. “We put the intelligence inputs the way it is. Our idea is to avoid breach of communal harmony. We cannot tone down the language. It is about issuing alerts to ensure that there is no law and order problem,” he added.

Mamata Banerjee says the Modi govt is ‘tapping her phone and getting information’, asks PM Modi to ‘take care of it’

Mamata Banerjee who is always in a lookout for opportunities to malign PM Modi and his government on Monday told media that the Narendra Modi government was misusing the various central agencies and illegally tapping her phones and getting information about her and asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to “take care” of the issue.

“I have full evidence to prove that the centre is using the agencies to tap my phone,” which was unethical and undemocratic she said.

“It is a fact that Israel NSO has supplied this machine to the government. My phone was tapped and I know about it as I have the evidence with me,” she told reporters here.

Mamata Banerjee said that the central government was spying on politicians, media persons, lawyers, social activists and other important personalities.

“Government is using this Israel NSO to watch the activities of politicians, media persons, lawyers and judges, the IAS, IPS officers, social activists, and other important personalities. This is wrong you cannot capture the privacy. Whatsapp was safe but even now it listens to your talk and your messages are no longer safe. So no landline, mobile phones, and Whatsapp messages are safe. There is spying going on.”

“When government works it has to give instructions to its officials and sometimes this work is done after office hours but now when our messages are recorded then how our government will be able to give instructions to officials. I request the Prime Minister to take care of this issue,” she said.

Even though Whatsapp had confirmed that an Israeli spyware group called ‘Pegasus’ had hacked into phones, she alleged that along with the Centre more than one state government was also aware of the security breach. “The government has done that and one or two state governments are involved in this. I cannot give the names right now but I know that state governments have also done this,” the West Bengal chief minister said.

Earlier in February also she had accused the Central Government of tapping her telephones in order to get information about her and then too, she had confidently said that she has proof, but surprisingly, she did not come up with any such evidence. One is left to wonder here whether Mamata Banerjee makes such half-baked claims just for mere attention or out of sheer animosity towards Modi government since she never has any proof to substantiate her flimsy claims.

Similar theatrics has happened several times in the past also. Recently, she had created a farce after the state transport department restricted movement on Tala Bridge owing to its distressed condition. For this too, she blamed the Centre for not giving timely permission to carry out restoration work on the structure.

From accusing the BJP-led central government of using brute force to scuttle the voices of dissent in the Kashmir Valley to attributing the terrorist attacks on non-locals in Kashmir to blaming the centre for instigating violence in the border areas and having a non-cooperative attitude or influencing the voters, asking them to vote in favour of the saffron party, or alleging that attempts were being made by Modi government to defame and tarnish the image of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee has mastered the art of attributing anything and everything happening under the deep blue sea to Modi and his government.

‘Meditating’ Rahul Gandhi shares same old story about Jay Shah, same old contradictions and insinuations

Rahul Gandhi while vacationing in Indonesia in what the Congress says is a “meditative retreat”, seems to have found the time to flog a dead horse yet again. The now-a-vacation-now-a-tweet, part-time politician took to Twitter to tweet a Caravan article that aims to cast aspersions yet again on Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah.

In an extremely juvenile tweet, Rahul Gandhi tweeted the Caravan story and said that “Now the story will be killed Kanpati pe gun laga kar”. While everyone heaved a sigh of relief that Rahul Gandhi had finally discovered the use of a different emoticon other than the LGBTQ rainbow, it still did not stop him from not making sense.

The article that Rahul Gandhi is now fawning on flags a long-dead horse. It is a repeat of the same old lies and insinuations against Jay Shah that another publication is now facing a multi-crore defamation case for.

Read: The Jay Amit Shah story: Low on Facts, High on innuendo

The entire Caravan article is based on official documents that Kusum Finserve LLP, a company where Jay Shah is a partner, filed with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The insinuation in the article is clear in the introductory para itself. The crux of the problem with all the hit jobs against Jay Shah is that the articles focus on turnover and not the profit. While the turnover of the company may be high, the company may even make a meagre profit or even a loss. However, the portals focus on the turnover to insinuate how the company is flourishing. What makes the hitjobs worse is that while they focus on assets of the company, they fail to mention the liability that the company has, thus providing an incorrect picture of the business itself.

Read: Complaint filed against the Caravan magazine and Ajaz Ashraf for the article highlighting the castes of Pulwama martyrs

The article in the introductory paragraph says that the net worth of the company increased after the Modi government came to power.  It is rather interesting that the Caravan article would insinuate that somehow, Jay Shah’s business doing well has something to do with Narendra Modi being the Prime Minister of the Country since the Gujarat High Court in its observations in the defamation case filed by Jay Shah had said:

Interestingly, the High Court then concurred with the Trial Court’s observations that team Wire has failed to prove that there was any sort of nexus of the Prime Minister with the increase in the business of the Jay Shah’s company. More interestingly, the High Court agreed with the observation that team Wire has failed to prove that “following the election of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister, the plaintiff (Jay Shah) has flourished”.

Next, the Caravan story moves to further its rhetoric in a far more sinister and ridiculous fashion.

The Caravan makes the increase in credit facility sound “dramatic”, they mention next that Amit Shah had in 2018 mortgaged two of his properties to secure a loan of Rs 25 crores for his son Jay Shah. In fact, if Amit Shah had mortgaged two of his properties for securing a loan for Jay Shah like any normal businessman seeking a line of credit, one wonders how Caravan can even call it “dramatic” or make it sound like there was any wrongdoing in the process.

The Caravan article says that what stood out in the MCA documents filed by Jay Shah is the fact that the net fixed assets of Kusum increased manifold. It was 2.60 crores in 2018 while it shot up to 23.25 crores in 2019. What it mentions in an unrelated paragraph is that the operational costs of the company too increased manifold and it was evident that the company was expanding. Interestingly, Caravan does not mention the quantum of increase in the operational cost of the company so an average reader cannot discern that there was indeed no wrong-doing. Further, the article itself talks about the loan that Amit Shah mortgaged his properties for in 2018. With all of that put together, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the fixed assets of the firm grew in 2019, however, the Caravan makes it sound like there is a huge mystery behind the rise when there clearly isn’t.

Read: How Caravan and Congress’ attempts to create ‘bribegate’ before the 2019 election fell flat

The Caravan further repeats that the nature of the business of Kusum Finserve is unclear, however, it does mention later that the company is involved in trading. It mentions that Kusum Finserve had clarified that they are engaged in the business of trading in stocks and shares, import and export activities and distribution. In fact, while the Caravan article itself admits that the firm had set up a sizeable factory on the mortgaged land in Sanand, it repeatedly raises questions on how the turnover and revenue of the company saw an increase. To recap, the company that Caravan is questioning is involved in trading shares and stocks, import and export and has also started a factory that manufactures PP, HDPE and jumbo bags but, the Caravan cannot figure out how and why the company makes money at all.

Read: Sarita, Caravan, Champak and the Delhi Press: A tightly controlled wide net that peddles Hinduphobia and propaganda

Further, the author of the article says that when he visited Sanand, he was not allowed in the factory premises, however, he also says that it was not evident what the factory is manufacturing. A pertinent question to ask here is if the author did not enter the factory at all, how can he conclude that there was no indication of what the factory was manufacturing? Is it the author’s hope that the factory would keep its produce strewn about on the road?

Essentially, Caravan impugns the integrity of a businessman who seems to be running a legitimate business and generating employment without using his name to avail any undue or additional benefit. Jay Shah appears to have never defaulted on the repayment of any of his loans and by all accounts by Caravan itself, runs his business as an average business person would.

It is pertinent to note here that the now-a-vacation-now-a-tweet politician that is Rahul Gandhi is himself out on bail. While he rides the Caravan clown car, Rahul Gandhi himself is out-on-bail on a number of charges that includes lying about RSS and essentially swindling money from the company where he was the Director. Interestingly, while he impugns Jay Shah, the charge is that Rahul Gandhi had not disclosed that he was the director in the company himself.

Read: Out-on-bail-Gandhi: Rahul Gandhi gets bail in the 6th case against him

One can certainly argue that Jay Shah is far more useful to the economy and the country in general compared to Rahul Gandhi. While one generates employment and manufactures goods under Make in India, the other vanishes to Bangkok after undermining national interest and hides his own dubious sources of income and connections with an arms dealer. Essentially, the confused-politician who was advised to retire from politics by a New York Times journalist once is bereft of ideas and the acumen one needs to balance political interests and the truth itself.

Read: Acquisition of AJL by Young India a ‘clandestine and surreptitious transfer of lucrative interest, dishonest and fraudulent’: Delhi HC

It should be recalled that the dubious sources of income of Rahul Gandhi himself have not been explained yet. Gandhi’s assets have grown exponentially in the past few years if one compares his election affidavits from the year 2004, 2009 and 2014 and the source of income is yet to be explained. In a report, OpIndia had written about how Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi rented their property to scam accused FTIL and had purchased the property from another company accused in the 2G scam.

Read: Rahul Gandhi’s lucrative and seemingly clandestine means of income and his links to scam accused FTIL, Unitech

Rahul Gandhi has also not explained his dubious land deal with one HL Pahwa in 2008, that connects Rahul straight to arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari. The land that was brought by Rahul Gandhi was purchased at a measly price of Rs. 26,47,000. This land purchase was mentioned in his election affidavit of 2009. HL Pahwa himself has several dubious connections. Robert Vadra and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had also purchased land from HL Pahwa and then sold it back to Pahwa himself at a much-inflated price. To make good on these payments, Pahwa took money from one CC Thampi who is in turn inextricably linked the arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari and Robert Vadra.

Congress’ response to Rahul Gandhi’s own links with arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari coming to the fore was weak and rhetorical. They accepted that such a land deal took place, however, refused to comment on his links with arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari.

Read: As Rahul Gandhi continues Rafale lies, his own link with an arms dealer could spoil his pitch

The theatre of absurd that Rahul Gandhi has unleashed on the Indian political scenario stinks of utter nonchalance when it comes to the nation and truth. What matters to Rahul Gandhi is staying politically relevant. To feature in the news by portals that have sold their pens and their souls long ago. The caravan has failed in the media space and Rahul Gandhi has failed politically. Both seem to be holding on to each other in an attempt to salvage their own careers. But like quicksand spares none, the nation, which has now woken up to the truth of propaganda that was used by Left portals and Congress, is unlikely to spare the incestuous club made up of political royalty and their pets in the media.

Uttar Pradesh: One Nasir Qureshi hacks wife to death with an axe and threatens to set village on fire, gets killed by angry villagers

0

Nasir Qureshi hailing from Chhattisgarh was killed by a group of villagers in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district after he hacked his wife to death and thereafter threatened to set the whole village on fire by blowing up the gas cylinder.

According to a report by The Hindu, in what transpired on October 30, Nasir Qureshi who had gone to his in-law’s house in Semor village under the Ghazipur police station got into an argument with his wife. The argument ultimately culminated in him hacking her mercilessly to death with an axe. The wife’s sister and mother who rushed to her rescue were also injured in the ensuing scuffle.

After, coming out of his in-law’s house, Quereshi allegedly threatened to set the whole village on fire by blowing up the gas cylinder in his in-law’s house, said the village pradhan to some reporters. “He suddenly ran out with an axe. The public dispersed. After that, I don’t know what happened. I was on the roof,” he said.

The entire sequence angered the villagers who then attacked Qureshi, leading to his death.

A video, purportedly of the angry villagers beating him up was widely shared on social media. The footage shows a man lying on the ground, almost motionless, as some men take turns to rain lathi blows on him.

The Circle Officer (CO) Jafarganj, Sripal Yadav said that the video, which had not surfaced on the day of the incidence is now being investigated and a case had been registered against unidentified persons on a complaint from the brother of the deceased, who had hacked his wife to death with an axe.

Three persons have been arrested so far based on the video footage, said Fatehpur SP Prashant Verma adding that the search was on for others and strict action would be taken against those involved.
