Kerala Congress MLA accuses a ‘revolutionary’ communist leader of being a paedophile

0

In a Facebook post written in Malayalam, Congress MLA from Kerala V. T. Balram, has insinuated the revolutionary communist leader A. K. Gopalan, who was also first leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha in 1952, of being a paedophile. In his post, Balram questioned Gopalan’s character for marrying a 22 year old Susheela in 1940s, after being in love for over a decade.

Gopalan was already married to his first wife when he married Susheela. As per reports, Balram had first accused Gopalan of paedophila in reply to a comment by a Facebook user who had questioned alleged sexual harassment of Saritha Nair by various Congress leaders.

Balram refers to a 2001 The Hindu story ‘Love in the time of struggles’, which talks of Gopalan marrying his wife, Susheela, in 1952. The report says that Gopalan got close and fell in love with Susheela when he was in hiding in early 1940s. Since Susheela was born in 1929, in early 1940s, she’d have been a pre-teen or a teenager when 1904 born Gopalan would have been a middle aged man.

Balram’s comment irked communists who told him how morality of one era couldn’t be applied to another and how even Mahatma Gandhi had married early.

One can argue that the defense of communists is whataboutery and needlessly dragging Mahatma Gandhi in the whole controversy, but the fact is that groups and people following leftist ideologies have often been found indulged in sex scandals and crimes.

Earlier, another leftist extremist leader was accused of raping a 15 year old girl in Jharkhand. Another former woman cadet had accused another leftist extremist group of being a den of various sex related crimes. Violence against women, including torture was alleged to be a norm rather than the exception. Recently, a communist leader in West Bengal was also accused of raping a homeless woman several times after giving her refuge, taking advantage of her situation.

Pakistan’s official agencies start quoting Quint’s article for their propaganda against Kulbhushan Jadhav

0

On Friday, ‘Indian publication’ named The Quint, decided to tout the Pakistani narrative when it proclaimed Kulbhushan Jadhav is an Indian spy. The article which has been comprehensively debunked, resulted in outrage among the Indian masses. Following this outrage, Quint was forced to take down its article, by claiming that it was being ‘rechecked’.

One of the major concerns after the Quint story came out was that, Pakistan might start quoting it as a proof, in order to claim that Jadhav is an Indian spy, thereby deliberately endangering his life.

This sadly is what has started to happen as various cogs of the Pakistani establishment have begun quoting the Quint article to further their agenda.

One of the first to quote Quint was PTV World which is part of Pakistan’s state television broadcast:

PTV was apparently so excited about the Quint story, that it even retweeted our article debunking the Quint story they wanted to peddle and calling them a terrorist nation:

It also quoted the author of the OpIndia article debunking Quint’s story and alleged that the “Indian Journalist” claims that Pakistan’s stand has been exonerated. Owing to lack of comprehension skills displayed by PTV World, the author has offered to get her article translated to a language that most Pakistanis must be learning now – Chinese.

PTV World also put up screenshots of the Quint’s tweet, to further drill home the allegation that Jadhav was a spy.

Later, a Pakistani journalist who works for Express News, decided to highlight the fact that the Quint was retracting its Kulbhushan Jadhav story.

All this was taken to the next level by the official twitter account of the Pakistan government, which is part of their Ministry of Information Broadcasting, by tweeting this:

Apart from this, it also decided to spread a rumour that the author of the Quint article is now missing, thereby hinting at the possibility of a foul play:

This lie though was busted by an Indian journalist, who called up the author, who is doing fine but refused to comment about the story.

Indians predictably were angered at this behaviour of Pakistani agencies and decided to react:

It remains to be seen as to what action the Indian government takes against The Quint. Already, the clamour for punishment is growing, with BJP spokesperson Tajinder Bagga writing to IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad demanding action against the publication.

Hindu girl gang raped by Muslim man after he failed to forcibly convert and marry her

0

In a possible matter of love jihad, it has been reported that a Dalit girl has accused a Muslim youth of forcibly trying to convert and marry her. When she resisted the same, the youth and a few of his associates reportedly kidnapped her, after which they gang-raped her for a week. As per the girl, the accused even recorded a lewd video of her.

This incident has been brought to light from the Meerut region of Uttar Pradesh.

The reports have claimed that, the accused named Bittu who is the son of Iqbal, used to regularly harass her. On 18th of December, at about 3 PM, Bittu allegedly took the victim with him after threatening her. After noticing the disappearance, the girl’s family members promptly filed a disappearance complaint with the Mewana police, but the latter allegedly failed to carry out a proper investigation. The girl was finally located roaming on the Meerut-Mawana road in a dazed state on the 25th. Soon her family members rushed to the spot and brought her back home.

After being rescued, the girl alleged that, Bittu, his brother Shabaz, his uncle Mehtab and a few others, kidnapped and took her to a room in the jungle. There they allegedly gang-raped her and even recorded a video of her. On 25th they threw her on the road and fled from the scene.

The victim, in this matter has also pointed fingers at the police, who have been accused of not taking proper action, and got a few blank documents signed. She has also alleged that authorities at the Mawana police station even talked about marrying her to Bittu.

As a result of this incident, Hindu groups reached the office of the assistant superintendent of police (ASP), to demand strict action in the matter. The ASP as a result directed that an investigation be launched.

Liberal conversation – Winds of Change

0

The four entered their usual restaurant in Delhi after more than a year. The manager, who knew them quite well, beamed the usual gracious smile and escorted them to their usual corner table.

The bald and bespectacled man ordered the usual, and said to others, “boire un coup!” The others ordered the usual, a 2002 Napa Valley vintage for R_______, a Beefeater for Sa______, and Pimm’s Iced Tea for A____. While R______ was dressed up in a dapper suit, Sa______ was looking chic in a plain green saree, her hair coiffed to resemble an ex-Prime Minister’s. A____ was in his usual faded kurta, and one would have thought that he had no other clothes.

The perspicacious manager noted that the group was more upbeat than when they had met earlier.

Although S______’s face always carried an imprint of a smile, this time it was deep and genuine. “So, my friends, here we are again after a tumultuous year.”

Sa______ was the first to respond, which was not surprising. She beamed her best smile and asked, rather rhetorically, “Did you read my fabulous bestseller?”

“I cannot congratulate you on your staid English,” said A____, ever so gently. She was not amused, but her husband immediately shifted the goalpost. “It was a masterstroke, S______! If not for that potty-mouthed Ai___ we would have got Gujarat too! What do you think?”

S______ was not a man who rested on his laurels, and he knew well that in the new world of social media, praise, like outrage, lasted only 48 hours.

With great humility he said, “It was not exactly rocket science to use caste as the basis for ensuring social justice.”

“Ensuring social justice” was the accepted phrase to indicate breaking the vote-bank by creating or deepening fault-lines through caste and religion. Even within the confines of his friends, S______ believed in using the right language.

Gujarat was just the right laboratory to test the caste waters, and it had given some good insights despite setback. Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, the possibilities were endless, just like the permutations of caste arithmetic. Even Nitish Kumar would have dropped his jaw in awe at this social re-engineering experiment.

A____ remembered the old conversation, and in a voice brimming with sarcasm, turned to R______ and asked, “How is your new true patriot kid working out? Did he win Gujarat for us, or did he just put out his seedy CDs?”

While R______ was wondering whether to punch A____ or maintain his class, Sa______ intervened and quickly shifted the goalpost. “Look at the brighter side! We have the Internet Hindus squawking like headless chicken, pulling each other’s legs, outraging at suspended accounts, and ceaselessly yelling at their own leaders.”

“Well,” said A____ calmly, as if trying to stop the loud laughter of Sa______, “Didn’t I tell you that the social media will be taken care of?”

S______ added, with a twinkle in his eyes, “And didn’t I tell you that we may yet have some solid surprises for our Sanghi friends? The courts have been wonderful, and our network is stronger than ever now!”

After a slight pause, A____, as usual, raised the most important incomplete question of all, “How is the…?” and bowed his head. The others too bowed their heads in Reverence to the Supreme Sacrificer, She Who Shall Not Be Named. “Never been happier,” said S______. “With Ra___ G______ turning out to be a delectable blend of charm, confidence, and caustic wit, what is there to worry about? Go Goa Gone!”

On hearing this, A____ permitted himself a rare grin. “I have been saying this for years, that Ra___ is not only good looking and charismatic, but has an uncommon understanding of Indian reality.”

S______ said, “We have them busy laughing and jeering at the calculated gaffes of Ra___, while we continue to do our work unhindered. Surprisingly, even the ministers have fallen into this trap.”

The four knew quite well the reluctance of M___ and his government to do anything even remotely retributive, even where it actually made political sense. After an excruciating lull in the initial half, when nothing untoward really happened to them, they knew that it was time now to up their ante and go full throttle. Every medium of communication was in their control, whether the print media, the visual media, or even the social media.

“M____ bhakts sometimes give us a tough time to ignore them on Twitter,” continued S______. “Occasionally someone like our J____-saab lose their cool, but frankly, Twitter is at best a parallel world with hardly a connection to what happens on the ground. We could use Twitter to keep them all busy with their trends and jokes and facts and outrages while we do some real mobilization through WhatsApp and Telegram and Facebook. The new W-T-F in social media!”

“Newton only told half the story,” said R______, rather enigmatically. “Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, but in politics, the reaction takes considerably more energy than the action.”

On hearing this, SA______ piped up, “Oh my Einstein, my hero!” As R______ winced, she added in all seriousness, “Of course, you are my second hero, after N____.” Everyone bowed in Reverence once again.

“Just a year back, the famous Ghanchi looked invincible,” observed A____, and then added, without an iota of irony, “and now, we are on our way to decimate the caste barriers!”

“Do you think,” asked R______ with some anxiety, “that 2019 could change our fortunes?”

“What more change of fortunes do you need, R_____?” joked S______. “Is your book not selling well?”

Once again, Sa______ quickly shifted the goalpost to save her darling husband. “By the way, what is happening down south? Do you think Superstar would spoil our party?”

A____ and S______ laughed gently at her innocence, or perhaps, ignorance. “You should travel to Chennai more often, and not just to launch your books,” said S______. “Also,” retorted A____, “it would help you write better articles than that Tamil Teri Maa atrocity.”

On seeing a bristling Sa______, R______ now shifted the goalpost, “I don’t understand. Doesn’t Superstar have the pull to change the face of politics in the south?”

Surprisingly, it was A____ who answered. “Religion is a powerful political weapon, R______, and it can trump any other passion in people, even in people as movie-obsessed as our Madrasi friends. Remember the brouhaha over the J_____ V____ movie?”

R______ was still confused. “I remember that, and it was heartening to see people raise their voice against the stifling of freedom of expression against M___’s GST.” Apparently, J______ was not responsible for GST as much as M___ was.

“Cut the crap,” said S______, in a rare outburst of anger. “It was never about GST. In a few days there would be festival time, and more protests. Who do you think would be behind those protests, and the protests again the movie? Who do you think was behind the protests at Marina last year? Who do you think was behind the farmer protests in Delhi instead of Chennai? You should read up on history of protests in the state, R______, and who is behind this mushrooming agitation industry.”

A____ coughed a little, indicating that S______ had spoken far more than what was necessary. “Well, let us just say that the days of Superstar are past.”

At this, they clinked their glasses and ordered another round of drinks. For today, unlike the year before, there was no apprehension about who would pay the bill. The Winds of Change had just started blowing from the West.

While Mumbai Mirror indicted Bhide and Ekbote, Police says no evidence yet

0

On 3rd January, Mumbai Mirror in its report titled “SAMBHAJI BHIDE AND MILIND EKBOTE: THE TWO WHO BROUGHT MUMBAI TO A HALT” named and shamed Sambhaji Bhide, an ardent follower of Maratha warrior king Shivaji Maharaj and his son Sambhaji Maharaj and Milind Ekbote, a BJP leader, accusing them of “desecrated the samadhi of a Dalit icon” near Pune on December 29, sparking statewide violence which even reached parts of Gujarat.

However, in the ongoing investigation, where police is examining audio and video clips, no clinching evidence pinning the two has been found. The police has got around 600 video and audio clips to examine.

Over and above that, Mirror reported that the samadhi of a Dalit icon was desecrated by the duo. However, no such evidence could be found. As as per the conflincting The Indian Express report, a board was placed near the samadhi on the night on 28th December, but the same was found removed on the morning of 29th December, with part of the structure damaged. While the Dalits blamed the Marathas for removing the board, no witnesses have come forward yet.

Twitter users, too, reacted to this contradiction in reporting and blame game played by media without proper evidence.

Users also mocked Mirror report for not questioning Vadgam MLA Jignesh Mevani and JNU student Umar Khalid who allegedly instigated the crowd to take the fight to streets.

Bhide, however, has maintained he is innocent and the entire episode is a political conspiracy

The Quint decides to ‘recheck’ its story declaring Kulbushan Jadhav a ‘spy’ after major public outrage

0

Controversial publication, ‘The Quint’ on Friday sunk to a new low after it decided to publish a report which declared that Kulbushan Jadhav was an Indian spy.

Quint in its report claimed that, it was basing its assertion, as per highly placed ‘RAW sources’. In order to further this theory, the author even decided to Pakistan’s propaganda as gospel truth, without paying heed to Indian agencies who have vehemently denied such conspiracy theories by Pakistan. We had rebutted their fantasy story point by point yesterday and detailed why they should be ashamed of themselves.

This ‘charade’ of a news report, not only meant that India’s position regarding this matter was seriously undermined, it also opened up the possibly of Pakistan using this news report as evidence to pass judgements against Jadhav, thereby severely endangering his life.

People were both aghast and bewildered at the irresponsible ‘journalism’ of Quint:

After such a momentous backlash (even though the damage might already be done), the Quint has now decided to ‘retract’ its story, by claiming that they are now ‘rechecking’ some of the information mentioned in the article:

This raises the question as to why did the Quint, not recheck or double check the story, which quite clearly might have had such far reaching ramifications, when it comes to an innocent citizen’s life. Why did the Quint only decide to fact check its story after a major publish backlash? Was there some ulterior motive behind it putting up the story in the first place?

As evidently clear, people weren’t going to let Quint off the hook anyways:

People weren’t going to stop at that and decided to block Quint on social media platforms and used #BlockQuint, which became one of India’s top trends:

A few might have felt that the Quint had already shown its ‘true colours’ when it decided to carry out a ‘sting operation’ which resulted in the death of an Indian Army jawan. The journalist who had carried out this “sting operation”, was later booked for abatement of suicide.

The ‘publication’ had also generated a controversy after it had decided to give space to an author, who had once wished for the assassination of PM Modi.

While Assam publishes historic draft National Register of Citizens, Mamata makes inflammatory statements

0

At 00.02 AM on 1st January 2018, a much waited and historic event happened in Assam. When the entire country was celebrating the arrival of new year, officials were conducting a press conference at that hour! The occasion? Publication of 1st part draft of NRC (National Register of Citizens). In this draft, names of around 1.90 crore people were included, out of around 3.29 crore applications received. This means that these 1.90 crore people are confirmed to be citizens of India residing in Assam as per the provisions of Citizenship Act, and Assam Accord 1985, pending any appeal and complaint. This NRC has been prepared under the watch of Supreme Court of India.

On 3rd January 2018, chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee made some very controversial statements over the NRC issue. Speaking at a public rally, she claimed that names of 1.30 crore people in Assam has been deliberately excluded from NRC draft, and 70 percent of such excluded people are Bengalis. She accused that this has been done as part of a conspiracy to expel Bengalis out of Assam. She further threatened that if Bengalis are expelled from Assam, they will not keep quiet.

Increasing the attack on NRC further, on 4th January TMC MP Saugata Roy made similar comments in Lok Sabha during zero hour. Transcript of his statement as per Lok Sabha website:

“Out of 3.29 crore applications, only 1.9 crore applications have been included. We fear that this a conspiracy to drive out Bengalis from Assam. Our hon. Chief Minister has already said that… (Interruptions). Almost 1.3 crore names of applicants are left out. It is a conspiracy to drive them out. We want that they should be allowed to stay in Assam. They are normal citizens. This is a conspiracy. The name of Shri Badruddin Ajmal, M.P. has been eliminated. This is a serious matter. This is a conspiracy to drive out Bengali-speaking people from Assam. … (Interruptions) They should be allowed to remain in Assam. The Chief Minister, West Bengal has already mentioned that this is a conspiracy.”

These are highly provocative and inflammatory statements the TMC leaders are making, which can instigate communal tension in Assam, a state with history of such tension and violence. Not only that, these false and baseless comments are also contempt of Supreme Court considering they are hurling allegations of communal bias in the process.

Before explaining how this is false and mischievous, a brief about NRC.

The National Register of Citizens (NRC) is the register containing names of Indian CITIZENS. The only time that a NRC was prepared was in 1951 when after completion of the Census of 1951, the NRC was prepared by recording particulars of all the persons enumerated during that Census. One of the demands during Assam agitation, asking for deportation of illegal immigrants was that the NRC should be updated, and it was included in Assam Accord signed after end of the agitation. As per the accord, anyone who was residing in Assam up to mid-night of 24th March, 1971 will be eligible to be included in the updated register. But due to opposition from various groups, mostly from minority (Muslim) organisations, this process could not be started for decades.

Finally, the process started in 2015, after several interventions by Supreme Court as response to petitions by several organisations in Assam. It started with publication of legacy data on NRC Assam website, where soft copies of NRC of 1951 and electoral roles up to 1971 were uploaded. The data was also available for offline access at various centres. People had to find their ancestor’s names in legacy data, and attach the details with the NRC application form, along with proof of linkage of other members of family with the person whose name appears in legacy data. Indian citizens who moved to Assam after 1971 had to provide proof that they, or their ancestors, were citizens of India before that date.

After the submission of applications, came the arduous task of verification of crores of documents submitted. 31st December 2017 was determined as the date of publication of NRC draft. But work of verification got delayed, and both central and state governments wanted to postpone the date to 31st July 2018. But Supreme Court refused the extend the deadline, and ordered that part draft be published on 31st December.

So, a partially completed draft was published at midnight on 1st January, with around 1.90 crore names. But the important point to note is that this DOES NOT mean the rest 1.39 crore applications (out of total 3.29 crore) have been rejected and excluded from NRC. This just means that these applications are in various stages of verification, the necessary processes on them have not been completed yet, and that’s why these are not included in the part draft. Only after the final draft is published, we will know how many applications are rejected. Hence the allegations of TMC leaders are completely wrong.

Interesting to note that Mamata has threatened to not keep quite if Bengali people are excluded from NRC, but she didn’t specify which Bengalis was she talking about. It is almost certain that some illegal immigrants from Bangladesh will not find their name in NRC, while people who have come from West Bengal need not worry, as long as they submit valid proof of citizenship. Now one wonders why TMC should be worried about Bangladeshis? And if they are genuinely worried about people of WB origin, why don’t they send the verified document for those people who have submitted documents from WB. As per Assam govt sources, 1,11,482 documents were sent to WB govt for verification, but till now WB govt have sent back only 5,852 documents after verification, which means they verified only 5% of the documents sent to them. If Mamata Banerjee is truly worried about the people who have migrated to Assam from WB, she should arranged quicker verification of the submitted documents, instead of making baseless comments. Note that such cases are pending with most other states, and altogether only 30% documents have been received from other states, which is another reason for delay in the process.

While opposing partial draft publication on 31st December, government had argued in court that publishing such incomplete document may create fear and confusion among people, especially those with names missing, and may even lead to law and order situation. Although nothing serious happened in first couple of days, now the TMC is trying to make the apprehension of the government to come true. People whose names are not in the draft, know it is a partial draft, Saugata Roy mentioned AIUDF leader Badaruddin Ajmal’s name being eliminated, but even AIUDF is not making such allegation. But if TMC leaders continue to make such inflammatory statements, some people may get confused, others will get fuel to spread rumours, and this may lead to law and order problems.

Effigy of Mamata Banerjee burnt by protestors in Assam

On 4th January, demonstrations were held in various places in Assam protesting the comments of Mamata Banerjee and her effigies were burnt. Several people also filed complaints against the WB CM for promoting enmity between groups, contempt of court etc. Police has filed FIR against her in one complaint filed by an advocate. It is expected that they will merge other complaints with this one. Prominent Bengali people from Assam have also criticised Mamata Banerjee for her comments, saying people from outside Assam need not get involved in this and they are capable of protecting their rights on their own.

Assam government also condemned the statements made by WB CM. But a condemnation is certainly not enough. The Assam Government should officially lodge a protest with the West Bengal Government, and also should file a complaint with Supreme Court. Given Assam’s delicate demographic situation, any such comment can act as a spark. So this must not go uncontested at official level, and we can only hope that the Supreme Court will not take it lightly.

Read why West Bengal Police’s ‘promoted’ tweet has everyone in splits

0

It all happened when a ‘promoted’ tweet of West Bengal Police describing their heroics came up on the Twitter timeline. The act of bravery was finding a lost mobile phone, an ‘iPhone’, which was being returned by West Bengal Police to the rightful owner.

Of course, no deed is small enough, but the fact that it appeared as a ‘promoted’ tweet, meaning, the West Bengal Police paid money to bring that tweet on our Twitter timelines amused a lot of people. A lot of users voiced their surprise especially, as a lot of users pointed out that the ‘iPhone’ returned by West Bengal Police doesn’t really look like an iPhone.

Some users even mocked the West Bengal Police social media team by comparing it with teams of other cities and states.

People also took digs on the fact that the ‘stolen’ phone returned doesn’t quite lok like an iPhone.

Of course, the above image is Photoshopped.

This is not the first time the same police station has found a lost phone, returned it to rightful owners and ‘promoted’ such tweets.

Screenshot of promoted tweet from October.

Well, going by the tweets, the police station specialises in returning phones and they take immense pride in it.

The Quint should be ashamed of itself

It is said that one of the most important pillars of any democracy is the media. Media that acts as a watchdog, keeping an eye on and bringing the truth to the fore. Upholding the citizen’s right to know. In essence, maintaining the very fabric of any free country by democratising information.

Unfortunately, the Indian media spectrum has seemingly developed a penchant for overstepping their bounds, and in the zeal to garner readership, the alternate media seems to have gone a step ahead. Gone are the virtuous protectors of the truth. The knights who fought for the very sanctity of the nation. Today, the Indian media and some of its players have turned into bloodhounds who are worse than the enemy at the gate.

The Pakistan intelligence services (ISI) had arrested Kulbhushan Jadhav, an Indian National and ex Navy commander on 3rd March 2016 on Terrorism charges alleging that he was carrying out subversive activities inside Pakistan on the behest of RAW (Indian Intelligence agency). He was arrested from Balochistan during a counter-intelligence operation, as claimed by Pakistan, and was sentenced to death in a field general court martial on April 10th 2017. However, an Ex-ISI officer exposed Pakistan’s lie and confirmed tat Jadhav was abducted from Iran and not from Balochistan, as asserted by India.

Pakistan is a terrorist nation that has vowed to bleed India with a thousand cuts. The abduction of Kulbhushan Jadhav, the lies that surrounded his abduction, the sham of a trial that was given to him by Pakistan, the doctored confessionals and the fantasy theories about him being an Indian spy are methods that Pakistan is using towards that end.

Pakistan, however is a known enemy. What is unknown, is what is most threatening. A glaring example of this debauchery is a portal called ‘The Quint’.

‘The Quint’ today had the temerity to publish an article that could have been easily published in any leading Pakistani newspaper with their reigns in the hands of ISI.

What Pakistan tried to prove with deceit, The Quint has put into words and attributed it to highly placed RAW sources. It published an article not so long ago today, detailing how their sources have confirmed that Kulbhushan Jadhav is an Indian spy, something the Indian Government and the RAW have actively and vehemently denied.

At the onset itself, the author, Chandan Nandy, not only declared that Kulbhushan Jadhav is an Indian Spy, but that he was a sub par spy used as a source for “deep penetration” in Pakistan. It bodes well to remind here that an ex ISI officer already admitted that India’s stand regarding Jadhav being abducted from Iran and not Balochistan is correct. Calling him a spy is going against the truth and endangering not only his, but India’s security. Calling him a “BAD spy” is psyops 101 where you not only prove that the enemy nation is a liar, but prove that their entire intelligence network is a sham. Begs an important question – Whose side is The Quint on?

Next, the author proceeds to provide ‘proof’.

According to The Quint and the author, the clearest evidence of Jadhav being an ‘Indian Spy’ came to light after Pakistan abducted him. I’m not aware of the parallel planet that the author seems to live in, but might I remind him that even Pakistan doesn’t take Pakistan seriously, and he is, considering Pakistan’s word as the gospel truth against his own nations version of truth.

Perhaps I can try to give the author a basic lesson in counter intelligence. A SPY WOULDN’T TRAVEL INTO ENEMY TERRITORY WITH HIS INDIAN IDENTITY PROOF! At this point, it is needless to go into details of the case since malice can’t be countered with facts. But even propaganda must be one at least backed with basic logic, which this piece clearly lacks.

Next, the author talks about how and from where Jadhav was captured.

Here is where the deceit gets worse. Pakistan army claimed that Jadhav was captured while he supposedly crossed over from the Saravan border into Pakistan. And according to Quint, a “Baloch leader” called Sarfaraz Bugti disclosed that Jadhav was held near Chaman in Balochistan. Firstly, Saravan border is the Iran-Balochistan border. The “Baloch Leader” that the author talks about Balochistan’s Home Minister who obviously answers to Islamabad. What is most intriguing is how Quint considers Pakistan’s version as the gospel truth without mentioning that days later, ex ISI officer confirmed that Jadhav was indeed abducted from Iran and not Balochistan province. Quint also ignores India’s version which was that he was in Iran and not in Balochistan. Again, whose side is The Quint on?

Next, The Quint reveals what this article was really meant to do.

The crux of the matter according to The Quint : Jadhav wasn’t abducted, he was captured. Jadhav was ‘captured’ because the Indian Spy didn’t know how to do his job. The Indian spy was unprofessional. The Indian spy was a novice. In essence, the Indian Intelligence agencies are trash and don’t know how to do their job. It might seem like I am paraphrasing some deranged ISI operative, but strangely, I’m only inferring what The Quint seems to implying, that is, Pakistan is innocent.

At this point, I would suggest the reader sits down, because the rage might be a little difficult to handle.

Let me paraphrase what the above excerpt says : Jadhav was not sound in statecraft. The RAW was stupid to hire him (considering Quint has already declared that he is a spy, in tandem with Pakistan) and that India would have been better off had she hired the far superior Baloch or Pakistani nationals to gather information.

This isn’t even the worst part. This mysterious source that seems to be vomiting all sorts of rubbish, says, and I quote from the article, “his incarceration and the ambiguity surrounding his “work” does “have a lot of benefits”.

Let me say that again : The mysterious source says, and the author writes, that Jadhav’s incarceration has a lot of benefits. Well, pardon me if I don’t join the party that seems to be taking place at The Quint’s office celebrating Kulbhushan Jadhav’s incarceration.

Next, the mysterious source through the author has a nugget of wisdom for Indian Intelligence agencies.

Mr Ajit Doval certainly needs to pay heed to this fantastic advice. Please don’t send spies to hostile nations. Send spies to friendly ones. Maybe to get this author some scotch?

Next, the mysterious source has an intriguing question.

I would like to send a message to this ‘anonymous source’ through the author of this article, Mr. Nandy. The Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi once declared our foreign policy objective from the ramparts of Lal Quilla. Balochistan deserves justice. And we are to believe, that this rambling was the brain wave of some former RAW chief? Because a RAW chief would ask such juvenile questions? Sure!

I am reminded of another article I wrote a while ago about fifth column warfare that is being waged by Pakistan in India. A Pakistan Senate report specifically said that Indian conversation around Balochistan needs to be thwarted. Of course, someone who would take Pakistan’s word as the gospel truth would certainly also wonder what might India’s foreign policy objective be in Balochistan.

The Quint is a habitual offender. Mr. Nandy was the author who wrote about the supposed surgical strike before the Indian Army came out with the details thereby potentially jeopardising the lives of the soldiers. A journalist of The Quint was being investigated under Official Secrets Act owing to a sting operation that drove a jawan to committing suicide. And now, The Quint has come out, all guns blazing, to exonerate Pakistan, denigrate India and tell the nation to be happy about Jadhav’s incarceration.

One wonders, when does this cycle of media deceit end? When does the media take responsibility for their actions? And one also wonders, if the authorities would take any action against this article, the portal and the author for this brazen article that potentially harms India’s diplomatic stand and Jadhav’s life.

Rahul Gandhi’s aide spotted during Jignesh Mevani’s press conference, runs away when questioned by media

On 1st January, parts of Maharashtra were thrown in a turmoil when it was reported that violence had erupted during the 200th celebration of British East India Company over an army led by Peshwa Baji Rao II, which has been spun by alternate historians as a victory of Dalits over Brahmins.

The ‘celebrations’ had in fact been an annual affair and never saw any violence earlier, but participation of controversial Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani and JNU student of ‘anti-national slogans fame’ Umar Khalid this year seems to have flared up the tensions. Soon reports emerged, where Mevani was seen inciting people by asking them to ‘fight in the streets’.

Following these leads, Maharashtra police booked cases against Mevani, in response to which Mevani decided to hold a press conference. However, this press conference has further raised more questions than it has answered.

A person named Alankar Sawai, who is known to be an aide of Congress President Rahul Gandhi, was spotted during Mevani’s press conference, allegedly propping Mevani with some answers. When a Republic TV reporter spotted him and sought to question his presence, he literally ran away:

As seen above, Sawai runs away and doesn’t answer if he was sent by Rahul Gandhi to help Jignesh Mevani. In the video, he is though heard explaining to a bystander that he had come to ‘check’ the press conference.

In the full video put up on Republic TV’s website, Sawai is seen breaking into a run, with the channel’s reporter desperately trying to keep up. Sawai finally managed to escape after successfully escaping in an auto-rickshaw.

The suspicious behaviour of Sawai does raise a few questions, but what is almost confirmed is the fact that Sawai indeed belongs to the close inner circle of Rahul Gandhi.

If one goes through these three media reports, his identity and association with Rahul Gandhi becomes clear:

  • The men who matter in the new team of Rahul Gandhi 2.0 [link]
  • The Universe of Rahul Gandhi [link]

All these three articles mention Sawai as a former ICICI bank employee who used to look after Rahul Gandhi’s social media team before Divya Spandana took over.

So why was Sawai present at the press conference and more importantly why was he so desperate to run away when cornered? Considering he is such a close aide of Rahul Gandhi, was he directed by the Congress President himself to go and be present at the press conference? Does it indicate that Mevani is working more closely with Congress than what meets the eye?

Also, was this whole violence and subsequent drama in Maharashtra scripted and outsourced by the highest power of the Congress party? And why was it that Sawai’s presence was noted and followed only by Republic TV, despite a heavy media presence at the press club? Is that the reason why JIgnesh Mevani assaulted Republic TV journalist?
