‘Muslim daughters should be made doctors, engineers, not child-producing machines’: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma bats for UCC in Karnataka

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, has advocated for the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code in Karnataka. Addressing an election rally at Ujire in Belthangady district in poll-bound Karnataka on Saturday the BJP leader emphasised the significance of the Uniform Civil Code, calling it the only solution to end the practice of Muslim men marrying multiple women.

“Muslim women and daughters are made to marry over four times. We have to bring Uniform Civil Code. Muslim daughters should be made doctors, and engineers, not child-producing machines,” said the Assam CM.

The Assam CM took a jibe at the Congress party for its poll manifesto wherein it promised to ban Bajrang Dal if voted to power and went on to equate the Hindu outfit to the banned Islamist terrorist organisation PFI. “Does Bajrang Dal do any bomb blasts? No. How will you ban Bajrang Dal? What is your friendship with the PFI that you are acting like their spokesperson?” he asked.

“In Assam, I am teaching a lesson to sympathisers of PFI and closing madrasas. But in Rajasthan, Cong is running Chief Minister Madrasa Scheme,” the Assam CM further said.

It may be recalled that on Tuesday, 2nd May 2023, the chief minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma slammed the Congress party for its biased poll manifesto, calling it a Muslim fundamentalist party.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Our Home Minister has banned PFI (Popular Front of India). Congress is saying that it will ban the Bajrang Dal. Congress is saying that it will restart the Muslim reservations. Congress has also talked about cancelling the anti-conversion bill. Today’s manifesto by Congress is a complete Muslim fundamentalist manifesto. I believe that even if Jinnah had been alive, he would never make such a manifesto. Today the Congress has fallen lower than Jinnah. In Karnataka, Congress is talking totally against the Indian spirit. Congress has become a Muslim fundamentalist party.”

Meanwhile, aiming fresh barbs at Congress for practising appeasement politics in the state ahead of the Assembly elections, today, he referred to Karnataka Congress leaders DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah as ‘family members’ of the Mughal tyrant Tipu Sultan. “Tipu Sultan slaughtered thousands of Kodavas yet DK Shivkumar behaves like Tipu’s family member and calls him a freedom fighter,” Biswa Sarma said.

“I come from Assam, and Mughals attacked us 17 times. But they could not defeat us. We remain undefeated. Today, I bow to this holy land because the Kodagu people defeated Tipu Sultan numerous times,” he added.

“If Siddaramaiah wants to celebrate Tipu Sultan Jayanti, he should do so in Pakistan,” the CM added.
“80,000 people gave their lives. And today, Siddaramaiah declares that Tipu Sultan Jayanti will be observed. If you want to celebrate Tipu Sultan Jayanti, go to Pakistan or Bangladesh. But you have no right to do so in India,” he added.

“If Congress comes to power, Karnataka will gradually become a PFI valley,” the Assam Cm further said.

Notably, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma was in Karnataka to campaign for BJP as the state goes into polls on May 10.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi also embarked on a mega roadshow in Bengaluru. Modi’s ‘Namma Karnataka’ roadshow will be held in two parts on Saturday and Sunday as part of the BJP’s campaigning for the May 10 Assembly polls in Karnataka. Several videos and pictures of the grand roadshow have emerged on social media.

As the convoy passed, supporters showered flowers and chanted slogans such as “Modi, Modi,” “Bajrangbali ki Jai,” “Vande Mataram,” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai.”

BJP leaders estimate that nearly 10 lakh people had gathered to catch a glimpse of Modi.

Before the election campaigning ends on May 8, PM Modi would have held 22 rallies throughout the state.

After today’s roadshow, PM Modi addressed two public meetings, one in Badami at 3 pm and another in Haveri at 5 pm.

On 29th March, the election commission of India announced the schedule for the Karnataka elections. The polls for the 224-seat assembly are slated to take place on 10 May and the counting will take place on 13th May.

Sadhu Magar said, “Yesterday, the police commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad visited our local police station. At that time, I was called to the police station. VHP and Bajrang Dal send defamation notice to Congress for comparing Bajrang Dal with banned terror groups, seeks ₹100 crore compensation

The huge outcry that followed the election promise of the Congress party ban Bajrang Dal has landed the political party in hot water. In its manifesto for Karnataka elections, the party compared the Bajrang Dal, an offshoot of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), to the Popular Front of India (PFI) and pledged to outlaw the Hindu organisation in a desperate effort to secure Muslim votes,

Amidst the ongoing controversy, VHP has initiated a defamation lawsuit against the party for disparaging Bajrang Dal and harming Hindu feelings worldwide, seeking ₹100 crores in damages.

The legal notice was sent on behalf of the Vidhi Prakoshth Seh Pramukh (Chandigarh) by the office of advocate Sahil Bansal of Punjab and Haryana High Court and in the name of Mallikarjun Kharge, the incumbent president of the grand old party.

It was served on the grounds of the Congress manifesto which was issued for the upcoming Karnataka assembly election. “That in the aforementioned manifesto on page 10, you made defamatory statements against the Bajrang Dal, an associate body of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad by declaring to ban the organisation and comparing it to outlawed terrorist organisations like the Popular Front of India and similar terrorist organisations like Students Islamic Movement of India which are outlawed under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act by the Government of India.”

The notice has also mentioned that PFI and SIMI have established relationships with terror groups like Al-Qaeda and ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria).

The outfit has asserted that it believes in universalism, tolerance, dharmic unity, national integrity and service towards mankind and the country and seeks inspiration from the reverential example of Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman who are the ideal embodiment of dharma and service.

The notification remarked about the service provided by the organisation in times of calamities including earthquakes and Covid 19. It highlighted the many laurels in the name of the organisation including a world record for blood donation.

It further elaborated that making such a spurious comparison to dreaded organisations damages the reputation and honour of its members, who number in the crores and defames those who venerate Lord Hanuman, who is worshipped by millions of Hindus worldwide.

It added that such general statements issued in public have the potential to injure the reputation of the Bajrang Dal members and hurt their self-esteem. Hence, a special demand is made to compensate for the damage that was done to their image.

The notice has allotted 14 days after its issuance to pay the amount otherwise the political party will be dragged to the court.

Congress released its manifesto on May 2 in which besides assuring to restore the four per cent Muslim quota scrapped by the BJP government, it also promised to ban Bajrang Dal causing a massive uproar after which senior party leaders like D. K. Shivakumar and Veerappa Moily tried to engage in damage control but to no avail.

Under the Law and Justice section of the manifesto, the Congress party said, “We believe that law and Constitution is sacrosanct and can not be violated by individuals and Organisations like Bajrang Dal, PFI or others promoting enmity or hatred, whether among majority or minority communities. We will take decisive action as per law including imposing a ban on any such organisations.”

However, after the huge backlash following the election promise, the Congress party has gone into a damage control mode and several leaders have said that the party does not intend to ban Bajrang Dal. The party said that a state govt can’t ban any party, as only the centre can do that.

Legislative Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in Karnataka on 10 of this month to elect all 224 members of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and the results will be declared on May 13.

Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar writes to Delhi LG claiming he paid for decor in Kejriwal’s home, pens a love letter for Jacqueline Fernandes

Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar has come up with yet another series of letters from Tihar Jail. This time he has written to Delhi’s lieutenant governor VK Saxena claiming that he has paid for the furniture in AAP convenor Delhi chief minister Aravind Kejriwal’s new house. Sukesh Chandrashekhar has also written a love letter to Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandes. Sukesh claimed that he purchased luxurious bedding and furniture for the AAP leader’s residence, whose makeover is currently being discussed.

Sukesh Chandrashekhar has written a letter to LG VK Saxena right after Aravind Kejriwal’s house and the expenses worth crores of rupees done on various things in the bungalow became the talk of the town. In his letter to LG VK Saxena, Sukesh Chandrashekhar wrote, “During the said renovation and post, there were high-end furniture and bedding which were paid by me for the very same residence of Arvind Kejriwal which is currently under scrutiny.”

He stated that the furniture was chosen by Arvind Kejriwal and Satyendar Jain based on photographs he gave to their phones via WhatsApp and FaceTime conversations. He further said that the Aam Aadmi Party chief paid lakhs for a variety of costly home decor items.

He further wrote in the letter, “Apart from this furniture he wanted silver crockery, which was given by a famous South Indian jeweller worth Rs 90 lakhs in exchange of an allotment, kickback in Karol Bagh project of the jeweller introduced by me. There were 15 thali plates and 20 silver glass, a few idols and multiple bowls, spoons in all pure silver, delivered to the official residence.”

Notably, the BJP has accused the Delhi government of spending Rs 45 crore during the Covid epidemic to renovate Arvind Kejriwal’s bungalow. Following accusations that crores of rupees were spent on upgrading Kejriwal’s residence, the Delhi L-G asked chief secretary Naresh Kumar to obtain all relevant records, investigate the data, and submit a report within 15 days for the LG’s review.

Sukesh Chandrashekhar also sent a handwritten love letter to Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandes. In this letter, he wrote, “My love, My baby Jacqueline, My Bomma, I watched the Filmfare Awards on the 28th. I should confess that you were outstanding and your performance was the best. In the whole show, your dance act was the show-stopper.”

He further wrote, “Baby, you were elegant, classy, super hot. And you have made me fall in love with you, even more, crazier all over again. I just have no words. You are a super stormy baby girl. I am blessed to have you in my life, my queen. Baby I have been missing you way too much.”

Currently lodged in Tihar jail in a Rs 200 crore extortion case, Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar has written multiple letters from jail to expose Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal’s connections with him. In April 2023, he also wrote a love letter to Jacqueline Fernandes on the occasion of Easter Sunday.

‘White girls’ ordeal might make them believe our story is real’: Adah Sharma asks The Kerala Story detractors to Google ‘ISIS’ and ‘brides’

Actor Adah Sharma on Saturday took to Twitter to lay into detractors who attacked her movie ‘The Kerala Story’ and called it propaganda sans connection to reality.

The actor requested them to Google ‘ISIS’ and ‘brides’ to get an account of what white girls had to suffer while in captivity by the Islamic State, stating that their ordeal might make them believe their story is real.

“And for the few still calling #TheKeralaStory a propaganda film, saying these incidents do not exist even after watching testimonials of several Indian victims, my humble request, Google two words ISIS and Brides…maybe an account of white girls narrated to you might make you feel that our Indian movie is real,” Sharma tweeted.

The tweet came amid a malicious campaign underway to discredit the movie based on true stories of unsuspecting Hindu and Christian girls lured into a love jihad trap first and later, brainwashed into joining ISIS and waging Jihad against the infidels.

The movie was released across the globe on Friday, May 5, and has since received a rousing reception, racking up over Rs 8 crores on its first day across India and breaking records of several movies, including The Kashmir Files, Shehzada, and others.

ISIS brides: How Islamic State lured women by promising Islamic utopia and later subjected them to abuse, sexual exploitation, and violence

“Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) brides” refers to women who made the journey to join the militant group, which formerly held significant territory in Iraq and Syria and carried out heinous acts against civilians and minority groups. The appeal of ISIS’s extremist ideology and the promise of living in an Islamic utopia enticed many of these women.

While some women joined voluntarily, others were forced, coerced, or lured into becoming ISIS brides. Many were trafficked, sold into marriage, or kidnapped by ISIS militants. After arriving at the ISIS-controlled territory, they were subjected to abuse, exploitation, rape, and violence. Several media organisations, primarily in the West, have documented harrowing accounts of the ‘ISIS brides’ who were lured into ISIS-controlled territory after being promised Islamic utopia.

However, as per some reports and victim testimonies of Yazidi women, some of the ISIS brides willingly and enthusiastically partook in inflicting brutalities on other women, primarily against non-Muslim captives, and encouraged ISIS terrorists to rape and sexually abuse them. This had led to debate, with some arguing that these women must be held accountable for their atrocities, while others advocated for far more nuanced and empathetic approaches.

The movie ‘The Kerala Story‘ revolves around the tragic reality of ISIS brides, with the lead actor Adah Sharma playing the role of one Shalini Unnikrishnan, an innocent Hindu woman from Kerala, who is brainwashed by her Muslim friends and gets converted to Islam and marries a Muslim. She later travels to ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) also known as IS (Islamic State) controlled area with her spouse.

Assam: Dr Walliul Islam and his wife booked for torturing their minor ‘adopted daughter’; Islam was charged in a similar case in 2017

0

On Saturday, May 6, the Guwahati Police filed a charge sheet against Dr Walliul Islam and his wife, Dr Sangeeta Datta, for allegedly torturing their 3-year-old ‘adopted daughter’ for several months. The horrific incident came to light after noted child rights activist Miguel Das Queah who runs a NGO named UTSAH posted about it on his Facebook page, pleading for police assistance in rescuing the minor girl. The couple used to tie their ‘adopted daughter’ on the terrace in the scorching summer heat, the images of the same surfaced online. The girl has reportedly been retrieved by the police.

Several media reports have stated that Dr Waliul Islam and a caretaker named Lakshmi Nath have been arrested while Dr Sangeeta Datta is absconding. However, an India Today NE report stated that the couple has been detained. It was also reported that the accused Dr Sangeeta Datta had released a video statement wherein she alleged that she and her husband have been a target of a conspiracy to finish their careers. She also refuted all the allegations against her and her husband.

Reacting to this, child rights activist Miguel Das Queah said that the minor has sustained injuries due to the torture inflicted by the couple. In a Facebook post shared hours ago, Queah wrote, “The little girl child has big burn injury marks on her buttocks. And Dr Sangeeta Datta has the guts to release dramatic video statements on social media. You deserve jail time. And both of you were very much in town on the 11th of March 2023, when the child was first time spotted on the terrace, tied up, almost in a state of dehydration. She could’ve died, you morons.”

In another Facebook post, the activist said that the Guwahati Police has taken cognizance of the matter adding that he received regular complaints about the cruelties inflicted by the couple on their daughter. Queah also urged the police to rescue the minor girl from the abusive environment. The child rights activist also claimed that the accused Dr Waliul Islam has another adopted daughter from a previous marriage, whom he had abandoned.

“Finally the dangerous doctor couple Dr. Waliul Islam and Dr. Sangeeta Dutta’s cruelty has been taken notice of by Guwahati Police. For a long time, I had received complaints about this horrid doctor couple who regularly tied their little daughter (who was supposedly adopted) on their terrace in the blaring summer heat. This little 5-year-old girl child also has bruise marks all over their body. I had requested the witnesses to file a complaint but no one was willing, till finally today someone had the courage. (Kudos to the person who called the Police) I had in the meantime updated the Child Welfare Committee on the matter,” a Facebook post by Queah reads.

“This doctor couple Dr. Waliul Islam and Dr. Sangeeta Dutta hobnob with the rich and the powerful and therefore they thought that they are beyond the purview of the law. I request the Assam Police to check the bruises, talk with the teachers, talk with the neighbours, and most importantly check the adoption documents. The child should immediately be pulled out of that abusive environment,” the post further said.

According to a Sentinel Assam report,  the couple initially claimed that the minor girl is their adopted daughter, however, they later claimed that the girl child is theirs and that they underwent an IVF procedure.

The report also stated that Dr Waliul Islam has earlier been charged with a similar offence. “In 2017, he was accused of child abuse and had to appear before the Child Protection Commission, where a court decided against him,” the report stated.

Manipur Violence: Situation under control after 54 deaths, IndiGo announces additional flights, 5 hill-based militants and 2 jawans killed in two encounters

The death toll in the Manipur violence has now reached 54, even though unofficial estimates placed the number of fatalities at multiple dozens.

15 deceased were kept at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in Imphal East district, while 16 dead bodies were placed in the mortuary of the Churachandpur district hospital. Twenty-three deaths were reported by the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Lamphel in the Imphal West district.

However, Imphal Valley life resumed routine as stores and marketplaces reopened and traffic commenced on Saturday. All main areas and routes had a strong sense of security owing to the strong reinforcement of the army, rapid action force, and central police forces.

The majority of stores and markets in Imphal town and other locations opened in the morning with people purchasing produce and other necessities. The region was peaceful for most of Friday as well but witnessed sporadic clashes later in the day.

IndiGo declared that it will run additional flights connecting Kolkata and Imphal, the capitals of West Bengal and Manipur. Furthermore, the airline has chosen to absolve passengers of any charges associated with the rescheduling or cancellation of flights between May 4 and May 7.

A spokesperson for the Defence Department stated that 13,000 people were saved and relocated to secure locations, some of which were army camps, as the forces established firm control over the districts of Churachandpur, Moreh, Kakching, and Kangpokpi.

“Total of approximately 13,000 civilians have been rescued and are currently staying in various ad-hoc boarding facilities specifically created for the purpose within Company Operating Bases & Military Garrisons. In the past 12 hours, Imphal East and West districts witnessed sporadic incidents of arson and attempts by inimical elements to establish blockades. However, the situation was controlled by a firm and synergised response,” the official informed on Friday night.

According to sources, violence between communities resulted in numerous deaths and close to a hundred injuries. The police, however, declined to corroborate this. The departed were transported from Churachandpur, Bishenpur, Imphal East and West.

Both the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences and the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences are treating patients who have suffered bullet wounds.

“Prompt response by Security Forces led to rescuing of civilians of all communities from various minority pockets of areas affected by violence. As a result, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Moreh, and Kakching are now under firm control with no major violence reported since yesterday night,” the personnel noted.

Operation Kohima Calling has been initiated by the Assam Rifles to rescue the stranded Naga students in Imphal. The Naga students studying there would be collected by the Assam Rifles Column under Brigadier Ved Beniwal for the ride back to Kohima. RIMS, Central Agricultural University (CAU), and Koirengei are the pick-up locations. All students are urged to work together to arrive at the given points on time, as specified by the officials.

Nearly 10,000 men from the Army and the Assam Rifles have been deployed in the state after conflicts between the Meitei community, which is primarily based in Imphal Valley, and the Naga and Kuki ethnic groups, who reside in the hill areas, broke out and engulfed the area in bloodshed and violence since Wednesday.

On Friday, Chief Minister N Biren Singh and other top officials met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the state of affairs in Manipur as the Centre sent additional law enforcement and anti-riot vehicles there to maintain order. Over 1,000 further central paramilitary jawans and anti-riot automobiles arrived in the northeastern state yesterday.

Internet is still suspended and trains to Manipur have been cancelled with immediate effect on Friday due to the prevailing situation in the state.

MoS Education and Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Manipur, Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh assured that the situation is under control and credited the central paramilitary force and others for quelling the violence.

Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju also addressed the situation. “Home Minister Amit Shah is monitoring the situation. I also received calls from chief ministers of many states,” he remarked.

The West Bengal government has issued helpline numbers for people stranded in Manipur.

An all-party meeting was underway to assess the situation in the state in which the CM asked for the support of all political parties.

Increased vigilance and aerial monitoring are also in place along the India-Myanmar border to foil any attempts by insurgent organisations residing in camps across the border.

Candidates who were given exam centres in Manipur have had their NEET (UG)-2023 exams postponed and their exam will be held at a later date which has not been disclosed yet.

Meanwhile, on Friday, armed gunmen shot dead a CRPF CoBRA commando who was on leave in his village in the Churachandpur district of Manipur. Following the death of constable Chonkholen Haokip, the CRPF on Friday ordered all Manipur-native personnel who were on leave in their home state to return right away to the closest security base with their families.

In a separate incident, on Friday night, two different encounters in the Churachandpur district resulted in the deaths of five hill-based terrorists and the injuries of two India Reserve Battalion (IRB) soldiers.

They were killed in a clash between security forces and the latter in Saiton in the Churachandpur district, according to the police. At Torbung, the insurgents opened fire on security personnel, forcing them to retaliate. Two IRB jawans were hurt and one insurgent was killed during the exchange of gunfire.

Clash in the Delhi University area

The aftereffects of Manipur violence have reached Delhi, where a group of Kuki students who live near the Delhi University North Campus complained that on Thursday night, a group of Meiteis attacked them.

They claimed that they attempted to file an FIR at the Maurice Nagar Police Station the following day, on Friday, and that after the police declined to do so, the students protested in front of the station. A few students have been detained in connection with this, according to police, who said that the issue is now under control and that action has been taken.

Background of the violence

The first incident of violence erupted in the Churachandpur district on April 27 when a crowd organised by the ‘Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF) set a recently built gym/sports complex on fire a day before Chief Minister N Biren Singh was supposed to inaugurate it.

The tribal groups were protesting against the proposed survey of reserved and protected forests and wetlands by the state administration and the demolition of three unauthorised churches.

Security forces responded swiftly to the situation, however on May 3, All Tribal Student Union Manipur (ATSUM) organised a ‘Tribal Solidarity March’ in the Torbung neighbourhood of Churachandpur to protest the demand for the Meitei community to be classified as a Scheduled Tribe (ST). Tyres and other items were set ablaze by protesters on the highways, which sparked arson and mayhem.

Similar demonstrations in support of the march were held in numerous places throughout Manipur, many of which descended into violence. Both the non-tribal Imphal West, Kakching, Thoubal, Jiribam, and Bishnupur regions and the tribal-dominant Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Tengnoupal districts experienced violent outbursts.

Curfew was implemented in 8 districts, mobile internet was suspended and Army along with Assam Rifles did flag marches in several affected areas.

Assam: 72-year-old man dies by suicide after college girl uploads their secretly-shot sex video on porn site

In a shocking incident in Jorhat in Assam, a 72-year-old man died by suicide after a video of him having sex with a college girl appeared on a porn site, and the video reached the people in the locality. The elderly unmarried man was trapped by the girl into having a physical relationship with him and she recorded the same secretly, which was later uploaded on a porn site. The incident took place at Dhekeliya village in Jorhat district in Assam.

The girl named Darshana Bharali, who studies at a top college in Jorhat, has been arrested by police after women in the village came out in protest against her following the suicide.

According to locals, the incident happened recently when she called the man to her house when her parents were not home. She used to call her ‘barta’, a short form of ‘bar deuta’, literally ‘elder father’, a term used for elder brother of father in Assamese. The villagers said that the unmarried man was very simple.

Before killing himself, he told some of the neighbours that the girl had trapped him. He said that when he went to her house after she called him, he said that he was having a headache. After this, the girl gave him her ‘father’s pill’ to cure the same, and after that he does not know what happened to him.

Soon the villagers received the sex video of the 72-year-man with the college girl on their phones which was uploaded on a porn video. The video quickly went viral in the area, leading to massive embarrassment for the man and his family. Unable to bear the humiliation, the man committed suicide.

Along with the video with the man, several other sex videos of the girl with other men in the area also emerged. In fact, when such a video with a college boy emerged recently, the girl had lodged complaint against him alleging that he had secretly made the video. But the boy had denied this, and said that he was trapped by the girl and she had made the video.

After the video with the deceased on man, the allegations of the boy turned out to be true. It has further emerged that girl had previously entrapped several men, had physical relations with them, and uploaded their private videos on porn websites. It is being alleged that she was doing this to earn money from the porn sites.

However, some villagers also alleged that the girl can’t do this alone, and there is someone else behind her. According to them, she is a bright student, and she is being misled by someone else.

The police have arrested the girl and launched an investigation into the allegations.

Pakistan: Khalistani terrorist Paramjit Singh Panjwar shot dead by unknown assailants. Here is what we know so far

On Saturday (May 6) morning, a Khalistani terrorist by the name of Paramjit Singh Panjwar was gunned down by two unidentified men in Johar town in Lahore city of Pakistan.

As per reports, he was a wanted terrorist and the leader of the banned Khalistan Commando Force (KCF). Paramjit Singh Panjwar was also known by his alias Malik Sardar Singh.

The slain Khalistani was born in 1960 in Panjwar village in Tarn Taran district of Indian Punjab. He went on to become the chief of the proscribed outfit KCF and began operating from Lahore.

Reportedly, Panjwar had been involved in illegal arms training for terrorists in Pakistan and helping them infiltrate India to target economic installations and VIPs. He had also been at the helm of the drug trade, circulating fake Indian currency notes and inciting minorities against the Government of India.

The Khalistani Commando Force (KCF) headed by Panjwar was eyeing to reactivate sleeper cells and form a nexus of ex-terrorists with other anti-India elements.

In July 2019, there were reports that Pakistan-based Khalistani terrorists are smuggling drugs into India to fuel terror activities in Punjab. The report had mentioned three instances linked to Paramjit Singh Panjwar.

A year later, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) designated nine individuals associated with Khalistani Movement as terrorists. Out of those ten individuals, Paramjit Singh Panjwar was designated as a terrorist for their involvement in drug trafficking and anti-India activities.

UK: Prince Harry joins other royal family members to attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, joined other members of the royal family of the UK as he attended the coronation ceremony of his father King Charles III at Westminster Abbey in London on 6th May 2023. As he arrived at the Abbey, Prince Harry seemed calm and spoke with his cousin Princess Beatrice.

Prince Harry reached London on Friday, but he will supposedly fly back to the US following the celebration of his son Prince Archie’s birthday. Prince Archie is still with his mother, Meghan Markle, in Los Angeles, where he will celebrate his fourth birthday. In January 2020, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle announced that they would be stepping back from their roles as senior members of the royal family. This decision caused controversy and media attention, as it was seen as a break from tradition.

Buckingham Palace confirmed last month that Prince Harry would attend the ceremony alone, without his wife Meghan Markle. However, it has been announced that neither Prince Harry nor his uncle Prince Andrew will have a formal role in the ceremony, as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family. Despite having served in the army for a decade, including two tours of Afghanistan, Prince Harry did not wear robes or military uniform, unlike other members of the family.

Since the publication of Prince Harry’s memoir, there has been further strain on his relationship with other members of the royal family. The book detailed fall-outs and disagreements with relatives, and Harry has spoken publicly about feeling like an outsider from the rest of his family. The decision for Meghan Markle to decline the invitation to attend the ceremony was seen by many as a reflection of these ongoing family tensions. Additionally, it was recently revealed that the King attempted to prevent Prince Harry from pursuing legal action against newspapers over allegations of phone hacking.

On 6th May 2023, Charles III was crowned as the new King of the United Kingdom. He ascends to the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8th, 2022, after a reign of more than 69 years. The territories held by the British monarchy include the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Jamaica among several other countries and territories worldwide. King Charles III will rule over these territories as the new monarch.
