Tamil Nadu police slap stringent NSA on YouTuber Manish Kashyap over ‘fake videos’ of attacks on migrant workers, multiple FIRs in Bihar

Bihar-based YouTuber Manish Kashyap has been slapped with the stringent National Security Act (NSA), a Madurai Police official informed on Thursday, April 6. A special team of the TN police arrested Kashyap from Bihar. It brought him to Tamil Nadu on transit remand after the Madurai Crime Branch police registered a case against him.

Kashyap, arrested in the case related to the ‘fake videos’ of attacks on migrant workers from the state in Tamil Nadu, appeared before the Madurai district court on Wednesday and was remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.

“Manish Kashyap, who circulated fake videos of Bihari migrant labourers being attacked in Tamil Nadu has been detained under the NSA Act,” Madurai Superintendent of Police Shiva Prasad was quoted by media house as saying.

Manish Kashyap moves SC seeking interim bail, clubbing of FIRs

Kashyap, meanwhile, moved a plea in the Supreme Court on Wednesday, April 5, seeking interim bail and clubbing of FIRs registered against him. He moved his plea in the apex court through counsel A P Singh. “Many false FIR was registered against him in Bihar and Tamil Nadu at the behest of the present ruling government,” said Kashyap’s lawyer.

“The cases against him have been filed because he has raised the issue of violence against the Bihar-based migrant labour in Tamil Nadu on social media,” he added.

On March 18, the Bihar Police arrested YouTuber Manish Kashyap in the case of the ‘fake videos’ of attacks on migrant workers from the state of Tamil Nadu. This is days after the Police issued an arrest warrant against Kashyap and another accused Yuvraj Singh Rajput. Kashyap who was absconding in the ‘fake video’ case was arrested by the Police after he surrendered at the Jagdishpur Police Station in Bihar.

According to the reports, Kashyap surrendered as the Bihar Police conducted raids on the possible hideouts of the accused. Police on March 16 constituted a special team to ensure the arrest of the two accused. The officers also froze the bank accounts belonging to Kashyap.

The Police also stated that Kashyap, also known as Tripurari Kumar Tiwari, indulged in financial irregularities and the Police have obtained relevant evidence against his activities. Following this, the Economic Offence Unit of the Bihar Police registered an FIR against Kashyap and Yuvraj Singh and issued a warrant to arrest the two.

Kashyap faces multiple FIRs in Bihar too under different criminal sections like instigating violence, rioting and economic offences.

A 4th FIR against Kashyap was registered recently by Bihar Police’s Economic Offence Wing, (EOW) over an old video where he and his associates were reportedly seen speaking about ‘celebrating the assassination of Gandhi’, and instigating communal violence by attacking places of worship.

Kashyap faces serious charges in Bihar, in addition to the NSA and other criminal sections in Tamil Nadu. He is currently lodged in Madurai central jail.

AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava demands separate Bhil Pradesh to be carved out of Gujarat, MP, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra

Chaitar Vasava, an AAP MLA from the Dediapada seat in Gujarat’s Narmada district, has raised the demand for a separate ‘Bhil Pradesh’ encompassing parts of Gujarat and the three neighboring states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

The first-time MLA from Scheduled Tribes reserved Dediapada seat claimed that there was a separate Bhil Pradesh prior to the independence. He claimed that the state was divided and merged into Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra after independence.

He asserted that these four states have 39 tribally predominate districts that together made up Bhil Pradesh.

According to Chaitar Vasava, these districts continue to fall under the Fifth Schedule of the Constitution (which contains laws relating to the administration and supervision of Scheduled Areas).

Vasava further mentioned that several years ago, Pratibha Patil, the then-president, had received a memorandum expressing this demand from a group led by Chhotubhai Vasava. Notably, the seven-time MLA and Bhartiya Tribal Party (BTP) leader Chhotubhai Vasava had lost his bastion of Jhagadia to the BJP candidate Ritesh Vasava in the state assembly elections held last year.

The AAP leader said, “We will continue to raise the demand for a separate Bhil Pradesh if you continue to treat the tribal people unjustly.”

The rights of tribal people, according to Chaitar Vasava, were being taken away. He alleged that thousands of acres of tribal land were given away for multiple projects in the Kevadia area of Gujarat’s Narmada district.

He claimed, “As a result, the local tribals are now relegated to working as labourers for Rs 280 per day. We are once again bringing up the demand for a separate Bhil Pradesh because our rights to our Jal, Jungle, and Jamin (water, forest, and land) are being taken away.”

Taking to Twitter, Chaitar Vasava shared a map of the ‘imaginary’ Bhil Pradesh claiming that it was issued by the Britishers and wrote, “Earlier the entire state was Bhil Pradesh, when the country became independent, the entire state was divided into districts with tribal population and divided into GJ, MH, MP, RJ. The demand for Bhil Pradesh is not only ours, it is the demand and dream of our forefathers! Many of our forefathers were martyred while fighting for this.”

What is Bhilistan or Bhil Pradesh?

Like Khalistan, Bhilistan is a fictitious state that the separatists have carved out in their minds. The tribal belts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat are included in the territory that the AAP MLA has claimed.

According to Chaitar Vasava, Bhil Pradesh encompasses districts like Pali, Rajsamand, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Chittor, and Pratapgarh in Rajasthan. The imaginary state also includes Mandsaur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Jhabua, and Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, Bharwani in Maharashtra, and Dahod, Panchmahal, Narmada, Sabarkantha, and Banaskantha districts in Gujarat.

BJP condemns AAP MLA’s ‘Bhil Pradesh’ demand

Mansukh Vasava, the BJP member of parliament from Bharuch, opposed the demand and asserted that it would lead to chaos in several regions. Additionally, it will cause conflict between tribals and non-tribals, which will ultimately hinder the execution of development initiatives in tribal areas.

Somjibhai Damor, a former Dahod MP said that the AAP MLA should, instead of demanding a separate state, raise issues where the government is lacking and suggest measures on how welfare schemes can be implemented more effectively.

Meanwhile, Congress tribal leader Anant Patel claimed that the AAP MLA’s statements regarding the Bhil Pradesh demand are meant to garner the votes of the tribal community in the forthcoming elections in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Karnataka: Local Congress leaders want Rahul Gandhi to stop attacking Adani, but it seems he may not listen as he has his ‘own mind’

On April 10, Rahul Gandhi will be in Kolar for a political rally. In 2019, he gave the infamous speech on the ‘Modi’ surname that got him into trouble, leading to his disqualification from Lok Sabha in March 2023. Karnataka Congress leaders have reportedly requested Rahul Gandhi to refrain from attacking billionaire businessman Gautam Adani, a request that is unlikely to be fulfilled by the Congress leader.

News18 quoted unnamed sources in Karnataka Congress that the local leaders have asserted it would be better if Gandhi had avoided Kolar to be his first stop in Karnataka. As per the reports, it would give Bharatiya Janata Party a chance to “attack” Gandhi before the upcoming Assembly elections in the state. Moreover, the local leaders were worried about what Gandhi may say during his visit to Kolar.

The local leaders reportedly believe pertaining to the ongoing matter of his disqualification by a Surat court, it is highly likely Gandhi will raise the issue in Kolar. Furthermore, he has been repeatedly claiming existence of a “nexus” between Gautam Adani and PM Modi. One of the top leaders involved in Congress’s campaign in the state told News18, “We have conveyed it to his team and advised him. We hope he doesn’t raise it too often. Once or twice is enough. After all, the real issues are local, like corruption in the Bommai government.”

However, it is unlikely Gandhi will move as per the request by the local leaders. Sources told News 18 that he has his own “point” and “mind” and would not listen to the local leaders. Recently, Ghulam Nabi Azad too stated Gandhi was the main reason he left the party. While Gandhi does not care much about the senior party leaders, it is hard to imagine he would pay any heed to the local state leaders.

Lawless San Francisco: CashApp creator Bob Lee stabbed to death as city suffers from ‘Defund The Police’ political campaign, Musk calls it zombie-land

Entrepreneur and the founder of ‘Cash App,’ Bob Lee, was stabbed to death on Tuesday (April 4 Pacific Daylight Time) morning. The incident took place in the Rincon Hill neighbourhood in San Francisco city of California in the United States.

Although Lee lived in Miami, he was reportedly in San Francisco on a business trip. The 43-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds during the attack and was attended by medics initially at the crime scene.

Bob Lee was later rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. As per a statement by the San Francisco Police Department, no arrests have been made so far in connection to the case.

In a tweet, former Mixed-Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Jake Shields wrote, “I just found out my good friend was killed last night while walking him in San Francisco. He was in the “good” part of the city and appeared to have been targeted in a random mugging/attack. Fuck San Francisco”

“I didn’t want to be the one to leak the name but now it’s out. Bob Lee is an extremely high-profile tech guy so hopefully, this will at least bring attention to these problems,” he further added.

While reacting to the development, Tesla CEO Elon Musk wrote, “Very sorry to hear that. Many people I know have been severely assaulted. Violent crime in SF is horrific and even if attackers are caught, they are often released immediately.”

He also demanded stringent action against such repeat offenders from the San Francisco District Attorney, Brooke Jenkins.

Lawlessness, drug abuse epidemic in San Francisco

Earlier this month, Elon Musk had raised concerns about the lawlessness in San Francisco city.

In a tweet on Saturday (April 1), the billionaire stated, “You could literally film a Walking Dead episode unedited in downtown SF. This is where San Francisco politics leads and Twitter was exporting this self-destructive mind virus to the world.”

“With some exceptions, other tech companies are still doing so. Evil in guise of good,” he emphasised.

San Francisco Mayor led a campaign to ‘Defund The Police’

It must be mentioned that the Mayor of San Francisco, London Breed (2018- Present), led a campaign to ‘defund the police’ following the death of an African-American man named George Floyd that had led to widespread riots and violence in the USA ahead of the 2020 elections.

In a tweet (archive) in June 2020, she claimed, “Decades of disinvestment and racially disparate policies have disproportionately hurt our African-American community in SF.

“Supervisor Shamann Walton and I will lead the effort to redirect funding from the San Francisco Police Department to support the African-American community in the upcoming budget,” Breed announced.

Screengrab of the tweet by London Breed

As per reports, the San Francisco Mayor decreased the budget of the SPFD by $120 million in July 2020. A year later in December 2021, she made a U-turn on her political campaign.

As per reports, the SFPD is severely understaffed and unprepared to deal with the rising crimes and drug abuse problem in the city. Journalist and author Michael Shellenberger, who has written a book named San Fan-sicko’, shared, “San Francisco is in free fall. We don’t know who killed your friend (Bob Lee), but we know homicides are up 20% & drug ODs up 18%.”

He added that Mayor Breed and Governor Newsom need to call the National Guard to maintain law and order in the city.

London Breed sought funds from the city’s Board of Supervisors to crack down on open-air drug dealing, retail theft and car break-ins. In April this year, she asked help from federal agencies to curb the drug crisis in San Francisco, caused due to police understaffing.

“My hope is we can partner and work together to address this important issue…We definitely need help. When we look at the police department, it is short-staffed. Arrests — there’s a whole process that goes into that. Having the capacity to meet the challenges has been difficult,” she said in a letter.

Anti-Hindu and anti-India activities in Canada

The anti-Hindu and anti-India elements, especially pro-Khalistani living in Canada, have been actively attacking Hindu and Indian government establishments in the country. In February 2023, Ram Temple in Mississauga, Canada, was attacked. In January this year, the Hindu temple in Brampton was attacked. Since the Punjab government and central agencies initiated a crackdown on pro-Khalistani separatist leader Amritpal Singh, pro-Khalistanis living in Canada and in other countries have attacked and protested outside the Indian government’s establishments in the respective countries.

‘Lethargic attitude’: Allahabad High Court slams ASI for delay in filing response about a scientific evaluation of Shivling inside Gyanvapi disputed site

On Thursday (April 5), the Allahabad High Court reprimanded [pdf] the Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for the delay in giving her opinion about the feasibility of carbon dating of Shivling found inside the Gyanvapi mosque.

The matter came up for hearing before Justice Arvind Kumar Mishra-I. He noted that the ASI exceeded the last date for submitting its report, which has in turn hampered the proceedings of the court.

“Certainly this lethargic attitude on the part of the Director General, Archaeological Survey of India is highly deplorable and such practice must be deprecated. The desired report has not been submitted though directed since last November 2022,” the Allahabad High Court observed.

It further added, “A high authority holding post of Director General, Archaeological Survey of India, controlling particular administration all over the country must know seriousness of the matter and ought to respect the orders of the Court, primarily of higher Courts.”

“Things cannot be kept pending for long when the matter has the element of high publicity all over the country. This Court will not permit any authority to occasion delay on the pretext of the submission of the desired report,” the court reprimanded the ASI Director-General.

Justice Arvind Kumar Mishra -I has now extended the last date for submitting the desired report to April 17, 2023.

The timeline of the case

Following the discovery of Shivling inside the premises of Gyanvapi Mosque on May 16, 2022, the Supreme Court of India directed the Varanasi district magistrate to protect the sacred structure.

On October 14, 2022, the Varanasi district court turned down the petition of the Hindu side, which demanded a scientific evaluation of the Shivling (citing the Supreme Court interim verdict).

A revision petition by one Laxmi Devi and three others was filed before the Allahabad High Court, challenging the verdict of the Varanasi District Court. The petitioners had demanded a scientific evaluation of the Shivling through Carbon Dating, excavation and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).

On November 21, 2022, the court directed the ASI Director General to give her opinion about the feasibility of such an exercise.

It stated, “…whether investigation of the structure found at site, subject matter of Original Suit No.18 of 2022 if examined through the methods of Carbon Dating, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Excavation and other methods adopted to determine its age, nature and other relevant information is likely to damage it or a safe evaluation about its age can be done.”

Since November last year, the Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India had been delaying filing a response to the court’s query. On March 20, 2023, the High Court gave an ultimatum to the ASI to file its response on or before April 5 (which has now been extended to April 17, 2023).

Two groups of Muslims clash, pelt stones at each other over namaz during Ramzan in Roorkee, 7 arrested

In Uttarakhand’s Roorkee, two groups of Muslims clashed over performing namaz on Wednesday, April 5. The two groups pelted stones and also thrashed each other. The stone pelting incident left four injured. Police had to intervene to bring the situation under control.

The incident took place in Sarkadi village of Gangnahar police station precinct. Following the violent clashes, an additional police force has been deployed in the affected area.

On Wednesday evening, two groups, one led by Sahil and the other by Shakib, exchanged accusations of disrupting the namaz at the local mosque. This led to an argument that eventually turned violent and entailed stone-pelting as more people arrived at the spot. During the violence four people namely, Danish, Shamsher, Imarana, and Haseen were injured. After learning about the incident a police team arrived and took control of the situation by dispersing the crowd using lathis. The injured are getting treatment at Civil Hospital.  It has been reported that the condition of Danish is critical and he has been referred to a higher center.

Meanwhile Swapn Kishor Singh, SP Dehat said that the police have received complaints from both the clashing parties and a case is being registered accordingly. Meanwhile, police station in-charge Aishwarya Pal informed that seven people have been arrested so far.

‘When you are in Congress, you are spineless’: Former Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad lashes out at book launch, lambasts Rahul Gandhi

On April 5, former Congress leader and chief of Democratic Progress Azad Party Ghulam Nabi Azad lashed out at Congress Party, specifically at disqualified Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for tearing down the ordinance that was binned in 2013 after Gandhi protested. Azad was in conversation with India Today’s Rajdeep Sardesai at the launch event of his book ‘Azaad’ where he remarked, “If you are in Congress, you are spineless”.

During the conversation, Azad said when the ordinance was tabled in 2013 to save the lawmakers from immediate disqualification if convicted and sentenced in a court case, Rahul Gandhi opposed it. He was not even a member of the cabinet at that time. Calling it unfortunate, Azad said the cabinet should have stuck to the ordinance and not bowed down to Gandhi’s protest.

Azad pointed out that Gandhi was not in any legal position to do what he did, as no outsider could reject the ordinance the way he did. Only the President of the country can strike down the ordinance, not a member of the parliament. However, the cabinet collectively decided to go with binning the ordinance after Rahul opposed it. “Look now, the one who cut it is applied on him,” he said.

Azad said when a political party in power makes some law, they have to think about the future and plan for the time when they would not be in power. Congress failed to do so, and now Rahul Gandhi faced the heat in the form of disqualification from Lok Sabha after he was convicted in a defamation case and sentenced to two years in prison. The Congress scion has now appealed in court against his sentencing.

‘When you are in Congress, you are spineless’

In his statement, Azad also pointed out that Rahul Gandhi was the main reason he was no longer in the Congress party. “I wish Rahul Gandhi would have worked 1/50th of what Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi did, he would have succeeded,” he remarked.

Sardesai tried to corner Azad by saying had he been a Rajya Sabha member of Congress, he would have lined up outside the Surat Court to support Rahul Gandhi. Azad said, “Yes, it is true. Because when you are in Congress, you are spineless.” Notably, Azad recently remarked that he was happy that he left the Congress party as he would not have stood outside Surat Court as the Congress leaders and workers did.

Interestingly, he pointed out that he is “2000 per cent more Congressi” then any leader who is running politics on Twitter. However, the party does not need leaders like him, but it wants people who can do Twitter politics and have the audacity to claim that Congress would get 500 seats owing to Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Azad said the support for any party leader from other party members should not be because a whip was issued. He said, “I was the one who brought a vote of no confidence against former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao. I told him you have to face Jain Commission, but although I brought the no-confidence motion, I am going to support you, and I did.” He added not even former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi issued a whip forcing then MPs to support her, it came organically.

Ghulam Nabi Azad left party in 2022

In August 2022, Ghulam Nabi Azad declined the post of chairman of the campaign committee and also resigned from the political affairs committee of the Jammu and Kashmir state unit of the Congress. He refused to accept the posts within hours of his committee appointment and left the party. Later, Ghulam Nabi Azad formed his own political party Democratic Progress Azad Party.

Hindu student who took Anjaneya Deeksha stopped from attending class in missionary school for wearing saffron attire

A shocking incident has come to the fore in Telangana’s Adilabad wherein a Hindu student who took Anjaneya Deeksha was not allowed to attend school wearing his Deeksha attire. Abhinav, a sixth-standard student at St. Paul’s School in Adilabad’s Utnoor was sent back home as the school administration did not allow him to attend classes as he was wearing his mandatory saffron attire and mala.

According to media reports the incident took place on March 28, 2023, however, when other devotees of Lord Hanuman who have taken Anjaneya Deeksha learned about the incident, they staged a protest against St. Paul’s School.

The protesting Hindus said that the actions of the school hurt the sentiments of the Hindus. Later, the school principal, a nun, reportedly apologized and also assured the protestors that such an incident will not happen again. After receiving assurance from the school principal and Abhinav was allowed to attend school in his Deeksha attire, the protest was called off.

It is notable that Hanuman Deeksha or Anjaneya Mala is an auspicious vow observed for 11 days, 21 days, or 41 days depending on the convenience of devotees.
