‘Those who are committing violence can be identified by their clothes itself,’ PM Modi says in Jharkhand

Narendra Modi addressed a rally today in Dumka, Jharkhand as part of the BJP’s campaign in the ongoing Assembly elections in the state. During his address, the Prime Minister referred to the Muslim mob violence that has ensued across the country in wake of the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act. He said that those who are fuelling fire across the country can be identified by their clothes itself.

The Prime Minister said that the Congress party and its allies were creating ruckus across the country. He said that they may turn a blind eye to the mob violence that has ensued but the country is watching the events unfold and people are firmly behind the decision taken by the government and the Indian Parliament on the matter of the CAA.

Narendra Modi also slammed the Congress party for its decision to protest outside Indian Embassies abroad. The Indian Overseas Congress, which was until now largely dormant, had announced that it will stage demonstrations outside the Indian embassies across the globe to protest against the Modi government’s handling of the Indian economy and “India’s deteriorating condition”.

Taking the Congress party head-on, the Prime Minister said that the work that used to be done by Pakistanis earlier will now be done by the Congress party. Calling it shameful, he said, “Does any Indian organize any demonstration in front of Indian Embassies around the world?”

Muslim mobs have unleashed violence across the country as a form of protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. These protests have spread to educational institutions like Jamia Millia Islamia University, where ‘students’ have resorted to the extreme violence of stone-pelting against police officials.

UN Commission slams Imran Khan government over persecution of religious minorities in Pakistan

In yet embarrassment for the terror state of Pakistan, the United Nations’ Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) has slammed Imran Khan government stating that their discriminatory legislation has empowered people with “extremist mindsets” to carry out attacks on religious minorities.

According to ANI report, the United Nations CSW in its 47-page report titled, ”Pakistan-Religious freedom under attack”, has expressed concerns over the increasing weaponisation and politicisation of the blasphemy laws and the anti-Ahmadiyya legislation which are being used not only to persecute religious minorities but also to gain political ground.

The CSW, a commission of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, said that Christian and Hindu communities, especially women and girls in Pakistan are “particularly vulnerable”.

“Each year hundreds are abducted and forced to convert and marry Muslim men. Victims have little or no hope of being returned to their families due to the serious threats and intimidation from abductors against the girls and their families. This is compounded by the lack of police will to take action, weaknesses in the judicial process and discrimination from both police and judiciary towards religious minority victims,” the report read.

The commission also cited several prominent examples to substantiate that minorities in the country are portrayed as second class citizens.

In May 2019, Ramesh Kumar Malhi, a Hindu veterinary surgeon from Mirpurkhas in Sindh, was accused of blasphemy after he had accidentally wrapped medicines in pages containing verses from the Quran. Later, the Islamists and protestors had burned down his clinic and other shops belonging to the Hindu community.

The CSW also stated that blasphemy laws in Pakistan, which criminalise anyone who insults Islam, are being misused to register false cases against the religious minorities and are a “source of controversy and suffering”.

“The prolonged misuse of the blasphemy laws over the last three decades, combined with the rise of extremism, has had a damaging normative impact on social harmony. The sensitive nature of blasphemy cases serves to heighten religious fervour and has created an environment of mob violence in which people take matters into their own hands, often with fatal consequences,” the report read.

The CSW also recognised that cases of forced marriages and forced conversions are common among Christian and Hindu girls and women, particularly in the Punjab and Sindh provinces. The Hindu girls and women are being systematically targeted as they come from lower economic backgrounds in rural areas, who are generally under-educated.

In its report, the CSW further stated that it had surveyed children from religious minorities, who admitted that they were subjected to severe physical and psychological ill-treatment, including being segregated, bullied, teased, insulted and beaten on multiple occasions, by both teachers and classmates. The commission also said that human rights activists in Pakistan also face constant threats and intimidation from multiple sources, including the state and non-state actors.

“HRDs are subject to harassment, targeted attacks and enforced disappearance, with little protection provided by the government,” it read.

Pakistan is notoriously known for its persecution of not only religious minorities but also ethnic minorities within their own country. The forceful conversion programmes have often been unleashed against the minorities especially Christians, Sikhs and Hindus living in Pakistan with utmost brutality.

This violence against Hindus in Pakistan is now a common affair. A series of abductions and forceful conversions of minority Hindu and Sikh girls had recently rocked the country. In March, two underage Hindu girls Raveena (13) and Reena (15) were abducted from the Ghotki in Pakistan’s Sindh on the eve of Holi. The girls were later forcefully converted and married off to older Muslim men.

Earlier, Jagjit Kaur, a Sikh girl was abducted and forcibly converted to Islam in Nankana Sahib which had caused a huge uproar. In another horrific incident, a 13-year-old Pooja Sotahar Kumari, daughter of Fatan Rathore, resident of village Bakhsho Laghari in Hyderabad district’s Hosri Taluka, was kidnapped, forcefully converted and subsequently married off to a man identified as Syed Irshad Shah.

In another attack on Hindus, a medical student was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside her hostel room at a college in Larkana area. The Hindu student Namrita Chandani, a final year BDS student in the Bibi Asifa Dental College of Larkana, Pakistan was found dead in her room on Monday. Namrita Chandani was found lying down with a rope tied around her neck under suspicious circumstances.

The Owaisi Factor: Why Mamata Banerjee went soft on the raging Muslim mobs in Bengal risking Hindu consolidation for the BJP

The violence that has ensued across West Bengal following the enactment of the Citizenship Amendment Act has shocked the entire nation. Trains are being burnt, public property is being damaged and the state administration appears utterly unwilling to control the raging Muslim mobs. Why is Mamata Banerjee not taking strict measures against the violent Muslim mobs?

One could blame it on Mamata Banerjee’s history of Muslim appeasement but there could be more to the story than that. With the rampant display of violence, Muslim mobs have ensured a massive Hindu consolidation in BJP’s favour. Surely, Mamata Banerjee was aware of the consequence of the overt display of Islamic fundamentalism. Why, then, did she allow it to happen?

The answer, of course, could be the Owaisi factor. In July, it was reported that the AIMIM had announced their decision to contest the Assembly Elections in the state scheduled to be held in 2021. “It is true that we are fewer in number, but do not dare touch us. We are atom bombs. Didi, we welcome your friendship and enmity as well. You have to decide whether you consider us friends or foes,” AIMIM national spokesperson and Bengal observer, Asim Waqar, had stated sometime back.

The AIMIM had also organized a meeting at Dharmatala in Kolkata where the former MLA from Maharashtra Waris Pathan was also present. Consequently, in November, the Chief Minister of Bengal had warned the citizenry about the radicalism of the Owaisis. She did not name them but it was quite obvious who her comments were directed at. “I am watching that there are some extremists among minorities,” she told her party workers in Coochbehar, “They have their base in Hyderabad. Don’t listen to them.”

A week ago, on the 8th of December, AIMIM leader Zameerul Hasan accused the Mamata Government of targeting his party. “Across the state, police officers are abusing our leaders, threatening them not to take up political programmes. This has happened after the Chief Minister indicated to the police to ensure that we don’t hold meetings and processions,” he told IANS. Hasan also announced that the party will organize a mega rally in Kolkata where Asaduddin Owaisi will be the main speaker.

Thus, things are not looking very good for Mamata Banerjee. She has spent too much of her political capital on her Muslim vote bank to be able to win without complete Muslim consolidation in her favour. In the course of the said appeasement, she has alienated significant sections of the Hindu community which have then consolidated in favour of the BJP. This is what we saw happen in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections where the saffron party massively increased its seat tally.

Mamata Banerjee faces a situation where Asaduddin Owaisi is threatening to capture her Muslim vote bank while the Hindus have consolidated behind the BJP due to her continuous Muslim appeasement. Ahead of the enactment of the CAA, there were two choices before the Bengal Chief Minister. The first was to support the Bill which would have resulted in her losing grip on her Muslim vote bank and the second was to oppose it in the belief that her Muslim vote bank will not desert her.

Read: Do not dare to touch us Didi, we are atom bombs: AIMIM warns Mamata and TMC as Owaisi’s party hints entry into Bengal assembly elections

There was no guarantee that Mamata Banerjee would make any political gains by making the first choice. For one, the General Elections results proved that Hindus had already consolidated behind the BJP. And secondly, it was the BJP that had brought the Bill, therefore, the saffron party was the one most likely to make gains.

By going with the second option, she gambled on the one vote bank that had stood by her in 2019 elections and hoped that enough Hindus will stick by her even after her opposition to CAA to ensure her return to power in 2021. She must have taken into consideration the fact that she would have lost a great many Hindu votes but she probably figured it was worth it anyway. She probably also knew that there was no guarantee the Muslim vote bank was going to stick with her but she decided that she had to try. Given the visuals of the Muslim mobs, her political position is in serious jeopardy ahead of the Assembly Elections in the State.

Mamata Banerjee was forced to go soft on the raging Muslim mobs in Bengal following the enactment of the CAA precisely because Owaisi is a massive threat to her Muslim vote bank. To be sure, Owaisi does not need to swing too many votes to cause massive damage to the Trinamool Congress. A vote share of even 3% or 4% is enough to swing the elections decisively in favour of the BJP.

Although it’s still too early to say, the visuals of the Muslim mobs raging across Bengal is likely to consolidate Hindus behind the BJP even more. Mamata’s gamble may well have cost her the 2021 Assembly Elections. Now, she is at a precarious situation where she has massively risked alienating her Hindu vote base but there’s no guarantee that the Muslims are even going to stick with her party.

Internet helps Sachin Tendulkar find the fan who motivated him to redesign his elbow guard for better performance

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar recently took to Twitter to request netizens to help him find a person who had helped him improve his batting. He said that there was one staffer at a Chennai hotel who had spotted the fact that the flawed design in his elbow guard was hampering his batting. Sachin Tendulkar redesigned his elbow guard soon after. On Twitter, he asked people whether they could help him find him as wished to catch up with him.

It appears that the Internet has helped the great cricketer find the fan he was looking for. Twitter user ‘Moon’ with the username @Wxntr_br said on the social media platform that it was her uncle who had the discussion about the elbow guard with the cricketing legend during the India-Australia series in 2001. India won that test match to win the series 2-1 and Sachin Tendulkar had scored a century in the first innings of the said match.

Moon revealed that the name of her uncle is Guruprasad Subramanian. In the video Sachin shared as part of his appeal, he is heard saying it was something he hadn’t told anyone else. Sachin said that Guruprasad told him that he was a huge fan of his and watched his shots over and over again. Guruprasad told him that his elbow guard was hindering his wrist movement.

The manner in which the Internet helped Sachin find the fan he was looking for reveals how Social Media can be a great force for good. In an era where social media has often helped in destroying lives, it is one of the happy stories that restores one’s faith that goodness can still be achieved through these networks.

Mesut Ozil, suffering horrible form at Arsenal, rakes up controversy with comments on China and ‘East Turkestan’

Mesut Ozil, a German footballer playing for the Arsenal football club, is not having a good time on the field. And off it, he appears to have developed a penchant for controversies. On Thursday, he issued a statement on social media denouncing the Muslim world for remaining silent on the persecution of Uyghur Muslims in China.

Ozil wrote in Turkish, “East Turkestan, the bleeding wound of the Ummah [community], resisting the persecutors trying to separate them from their religion… They burn their Korans. They shut down their mosques. They ban their schools. They kill their holy men. The men are forced into camps and their families are forced to live with Chinese men. The women are forced to marry Chinese men.. But Muslims are silent. They won’t make a noise. They have abandoned them. Don’t they know that giving consent for persecution is persecution itself?”

The message was written in a background of blue with a white crescent moon, the colours of Uyghur Separatists who call the region ‘East Turkestan’. Interestingly, Ozil calls Xinjiang the same in his statement.

Following his statement, Ozil has faced massive backlash in China. Arsenal Football Club was forced to issue a statement disassociating themselves from the statement. “Regarding the comments made by Mesut Özil on social media, Arsenal must make a clear statement,” its statement on Weibo, the most popular social media website in China, said. “The content published is Özil’s personal opinion. As a football club, Arsenal has always adhered to the principle of not involving itself in politics.”

Ozil, who is going through a torrid time at Arsenal as is his club, has always been vocal about his political inclinations. He had caused outrage after posing for a photograph with Turkish Dictator Erdogan ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup at a time when tensions were prevalent between the two countries. Ozil, himself, is of Turkish origin. Erdogan was the best man at his wedding.

Ozil’s dalliance with Erdogan had reignited the debate regarding dual citizenship and dual loyalties. Following the incident, the German football associating issued a statement that made it clear that the gesture was not appreciated. Ozil, afterwards, quit the national team accusing the authorities of ‘racism’.

Diary of a Delhi Liberal: Citizenship Amendment Act, Bengal burning and Rahul Gandhi

Dear Diary,

What a week diary, what a fantastic week. Finally, after numerous failed attempts since May 2014, we have successfully managed to set fire to India. Ok we are getting ahead of ourselves, let us go back and tell you how it all happened.

So that useless body called Indian Parliament passed a bill that guaranteed citizenship to persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. We rightly opposed it, since you know diary, the bill kept minority Muslims of these Islamic countries out of the bill. Our friends in media tried their best to prove that Muslims are the minorities in Pakistan and Bangladesh but alas, they failed.

However, the bill gave us the opportunity we needed to burn this country down. Assam shut down because they were opposing citizenship to anyone. Bengal started burning because illegals there demanded citizenship for everyone. Being a liberal, we supported both these stands because being liberal means to be liberal with your principals. So, in summary, we support citizenship for every illegal immigrant now and we also oppose citizenship for every illegal immigrant now.

The week also saw the return of Rahul Gandhi diary, Rahul 2.0 is here! He stormed into Delhi and shook the roots of fascist BJP empire from Ramlila ground where he tore into that Savarkar fellow. He was on fire, diary, fire. His roar made Modi tremble so much that Modi fell down on the stairs in Kanpur! It told us that Simba is back, to claim his rightful throne of Delhi from evil hyenas.

There was some sad news as well during the week diary, but that is life, everything can’t be perfect. Democracy died in Karnataka as BJP won the bypolls to maintain their majority in the assembly. With overwhelming percentage of people voting for BJP, it signalled an end of democracy in the state and told everyone that fascism is here to stay. If people of Karnataka continue to behave this way, we may have to exclude them from our Dravidanadu project, and form our new country without them.

On personal front diary, it was another rewarding week. We got so many donations for our charities this week that we could book ourselves a trip to New York City. We will be there to see the ball drop at Times Square to bring in the new year 2020. Till next week diary, ciao.

“Freedom of Speech is a joke”: Bollywood actor Payal Rohatgi tweets after Rajasthan Police detains her for making comments on Nehru

Model and Bollywood actress Payal Rohatgi has been detained by Rajasthan police over her alleged comments against former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and his family.

Speaking to ANI, SP Mamta Gupta confirmed, “Payal Rohatgi has been detained. Case registered.”

However, Bollywood actor Payal Rohatgi took to Twitter and said that she has been arrested by the Rajasthan Police for making a video on Motilal Nehru. “Freedom of speech is a joke,” she tweeted tagging the Prime Minister and Home Minister of India.

Tagging the PMO and HMO, Rohatgi wrote, “I am arrested by Police Rajasthan for making a video on Motilal Nehru which I made from taking information from Google. Freedom of Speech is a joke.”

In a video along with the tweets, Payal had alleged that Motilal Nehru had 5 wives. She had made this claim quoting a biography of MO Mathai, which was written by Edina Ramakrishna. Mathai was an Indian Civil Service officer and had served as the Private Secretary of Jawaharlal Nehru.

In the video, Payal had quoted the book saying that although Swaroop Rani was the legal wife of Motilal Nehru, he had four other wives. The others were Thussu Rahman Bai, Mrs Manjari, one Iranian woman, and a Housemaid, she had claimed. She also said that Motilal had a son named Muhammad Ali Jinnah from the Iranian woman, while also claiming that Jawaharlal Nehru was actually the son of Thussu Rahman Bai from her former husband.

In October, a case was registered against actress Payal Rohatgi under sections 66 and 67 of the Information Technology Act for allegedly insulting the family of Motilal Nehru. The case was registered by Rajasthan police on a complaint filed by Rajasthan Youth Congress leader Charmesh Sharma.

It may be noted that M.O. Mathai had written two memoirs narrating his time with Jawaharlal Nehru, titled Reminiscences of The Nehru Age and My Days with Nehru. But there is no record of any biography of Mathai written by someone named Edina Ramkrishna. In his books, Mathai has not mentioned the alleged facts about Motilal Nehru as quoted by Payal, although the books do contain several other controversial claims about the Nehru family.

Moreover, the claims made by Payal Rohatgi about the Nehru family keep appearing on Social Media, and they have no basis as they are fake claims. Other than various social media platforms, some websites are also spreading this fake news. But actually there is no book making these claims.

Day after violent protests, provocative slogans appear in Jamia Millia Islamia University campus

Muslim mobs have unleashed violence across the country as a form of protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. These protests have spread to educational institutions like Jamia Millia Islamia University, where ‘students’ have resorted to the extreme violence of stone-pelting against police officials.

The protests have intensified in Jamia Millia University as provocative posters and paintings have come up inside the campus threatening PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The ‘students’ in the university have also gone to the extent of painting graffitis that wished for the death of Home Minister Amit Shah.

Another wall painting attempted to instigate people to create chaos in the country by raising a rebellion against the government. A slogan which read, “Those who are alive, will not wait for 5 years” can be seen inside the campus, which not only questions the legitimacy of a democratically elected government of the country but also instigates people to resort violence.

The most bizarre among those paintings are the ones which have tried to draw a comparison between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German dictator Adolf Hitler. The Jamia Muslim mob has painted walls with graffitis that refer to PM Modi as Hitler.

Most of the protests happening against the Citizenship Bill are being hijacked by various Muslim groups who are unleashing extreme violence across the country. The protests have already taken a communal turn in Delhi as ‘students’ of the controversial Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University resorted to mob violence against the police officials and shouted Islamic slogans “Allah-o-Akbar” during their protests.

Videos had emerged where Jamia Millia Islamia University students could be seen raising ‘Allah-o-Akbar’ and ‘Nara-e-Taqbeer’ slogans. They are also heard saying, “Ye shahar zagmagaega, nur-e-la-illaha se, Ye desh zagmagaega, nur-e-la-ilaha se. Nara-e-takbir, Allah-o-Akbar”.

Around 2,000 Jamia ‘students’ in Delhi were protesting against the CAB on Friday. The Jamia protesters against CAB had called for a march to Parliament House from the university campus to express their opposition to the legislation. However, they resorted to violence and broke police barricades.

As the police began to lathi-charge the students to calm down the situation, the protestors resorted to stone-pelting against these police officials. Several policemen have been injured in the mob attack of the students and three policemen are in critical condition in the ICU.

Following the violent protests by unruly students of the Jamia university, the authorities have decided to defer all semester exams scheduled on Saturday and announced winter break from December 16 to January 5.

‘Bigot no 1’, Actor Farhan Akhtar labels a concerned citizen of India for asking him to reach out to people to contain violence

With Muslim mobs taking to violence to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act, a concerned citizen asked Bollywood entertainer Farhan Akhtar, his father Javed Akhtar and his step-mother Shabana Azmi to reach out to the Muslim community and ask them not to destroy our country’s property.

The citizen also advised these ‘celebrities’ not to cry when these rioters are arrested and beaten black and blue. There are several instances in the past when the Islamists and their supporters have shed tears for the cause of terror sympathisers, Naxalites and anti-social elements.

However, Farhan Akhtar, just like his father Javed Akhtar, indulged in arrogance and replied in a condescending manner. Taking a jibe at Gitika, Farhan Akhtar said he will requesting an individual named David Dhawan to cast her in a movie named ‘Bigot no 1’ as Farhan thought the citizen was perfect for the part.

When a situation arises, it is very normal for celebrities and people in influential position to use their clout to appeal to people for peace. However, Akhtar, instead of appealing for peace, used this opportunity to try and bully an individual.

Akhtar was called out by Twitterati for whitewashing and downplaying the violence by Muslim mobs especially in Bengal.

People pointed out the irony that instead of condemning the ghastly violence, Akhtar chose to condemn a Twitter user who asked him to appeal to the people of his community in good faith.

The rampage of the Muslim mob continues in West Bengal under the watch of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as Islamists have now vandalised more than five railway stations and set fire to a toll plaza in Murshidabad district on Saturday during their protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Last week, the Muslim mobs had vandalised the complex and some trains by resorting to stone pelting, injuring a driver, officials said. The violence affected train services in Sealdah division of the Eastern Railway.

Protests against the CAB were planned soon after Friday prayers across mosques in the State and other various parts of the country which has resulted in extreme violence in parts of West Bengal.

Unsurprisingly, following the violence, the ‘liberal-secular’ industry which often gives moral science lectures on constitutionalism, democracy, rule of law seems has also joined the bandwagon to ignore the riots that are being unleashed by Muslim mobs in the state. It is not shocking anymore to see that the media often referred to as the fourth pillar of the democracy has turned a blind eye to the barbarity that is being unleashed by Islamist forces in West Bengal.

Muslim mobs across the country are continuing their rampage as a form of protests over Citizenship Amendment Act. Unsurprisingly, the members of the ‘liberal-secular’ industry have deliberately chosen to ignore the crimes committed by the Muslim community, exposing their hypocrisy regarding commitment towards the rule of law.

Bollywood entertainer Farhan Akhtar not only turned a blind eye to the riots unleashed by the Muslim mob across the country but also labelled a concerned citizen a ‘bigot’ for requesting him to reach out to Muslim community to stop rioting and indulging in violence during the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

West Bengal lawyer who shared his harrowing experience on Muslim mob violence now blames the BJP IT cell for being ‘divisive force’

0

In a bizarre turn of events, a West Bengal based lawyer, Sankhadeep Shome, who took to Facebook on Friday to talk about the harrowing experience where a Muslim mob of 500-700 people emerged after the ‘Jummah Namaaz’ and blocked a railway line at Uluberia station, has now blamed the BJP IT cell for indulging in ‘evil and divisive forces’.

Taking to Facebook, Shome accused the BJP of using his experience where Muslim mob ran amok terrorising people while protesting against the CAB, for ‘vicious poll plank’.

He accused the BJP of trying to project him as “former sickular libtard who’s now had a Ghar Wapsi after witnessing first hand how barbarous the lot of ‘illegal’ Muslims are.”

According to his own post about the rioting Muslim mob, “A massive crowd of rioters then descended on the station, young lads barely on the verge of their 20s and some as young as 7 and 8 dressed in kurta pyjamas and skullcaps armed with rods and stones. First, they shattered all the window panes of an empty rake of Humsafar Express. Then they got to our train and started to pelt it with stones. The elderly were traumatized, the children crying. A stone shattered the glass window of the adjacent coupe. My heart pounded as I heard them screaming. I saw them laughing sadistically as they poked the rods through the broken window panes to terrify the passengers. I ducked and stayed dead still. One stray stone, one swing of the rod is all it would take. The district police were nowhere to be seen.”

Muslim mob comprising of young kids, some even as young as 7 and 8 years (as he himself said), pelted stones and laughed sadistically as they poked rods through broken window panes to terrify passengers. The district police was nowhere to be seen, as per his own account.

However, for reasons perhaps best known to him, the BJP IT cell is to be blamed for his blood-curling, near-death experience on hands of a Muslim mob.
