#SatireLikeAmarUjala: When Congress shared maliciously cropped satirical article on ‘scam in Kumbh’ as real news

If you thought satire is a lost art, think again. Madhya Pradesh Congress’ official Twitter account today shared a satirical report from Amar Ujala which spoke of a Rs 800 crore scam in the recently concluded Prayagraj Kumbh Mela as real news.

MP Congress tweet, now deleted

In a tweet shared my MP Congress Twitter account, alleged a Rs 800 crore scam in the recently concluded Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. The tweet further wondered how the BJP does not even leave religious and holy places out of corruption.

However, the article shared in above tweet was a satirical article from Amar Ujala. Considering Congress had cropped out the part which clarified that the article is satirical, one wonders about the malicious intention of the party to spread fake news.

Satire article by Amar Ujala

Soon, twitterati donned their creative hats and took to satire to mock Congress’ mischief by using the hashtag #SatireLikeAmarUjala

Considering the fact that the thin line between satire and reality is crossed way too many times, it is not new for media houses as well as politicians to mistake parody and satire handles for real. However, the fact that Congress took efforts to crop the original image to spread the satire as real news, show the malice in their intention.

Rahul Gandhi is lying, the Gurugram incident started with a fight over cricket, was not inspired by communal hatred

A video went viral on social media recently where a mob could be seen barging into the home of a Muslim family and beating the people black and blue with sticks. In the aftermath of the attack, people were quick to give the whole incident a communal colour merely because the victims appeared to be Muslim and the perpetrators, Hindus.

Rahul Gandhi and many others even used the incident to target the BJP and the RSS, despite any evidence to suggest that the incident was motivated by communal hatred, or that ideology of the BJP/RSS inspired the incident.

In reality, however, the attack was motivated not by communal hatred but it was a fight that had broken out over cricket. OpIndia.com talked to Gurugram Police to know the facts of the incident, and Gurugram police spokesperson Subhash Boken confirmed that there was no communal angle in the incident. He said, “The matter started over cricket, a child got hit with a ball. And they had a fight over the matter. So, they called their friends. When they realized they were outnumbered, they ran home. Then, people entered their home and beat them up. It’s not a communal matter. Even the family is saying that it’s not communal, they have been living in the area for a long time.”

[bctt tweet=”Gurugram ‘communal’ incident turns out to be propaganda too. Fake news riot mongers march on inciting communal tensions while claiming to fight it”]

While Gurgaon police have confirmed that the fight started over cricket and it was not a hate crime, some media reports claim that the victims were told to “Go to Pakistan” by the attackers. When asked about this, Gurugram police spokesperson Subhash Boken said that no such thing was said by the attackers. He also informed that the FIR filed in the incident also does not mention that the victims were asked to go to Pakistan, and the victims didn’t include any such claim in their complaint.

The victims also narrated their ordeal in an interview given to ABP news, and in that interview too they never mentioned that the attackers asked them to go to Pakistan. Therefore, it can be concluded that this was added by a section of media to sensationalise the news while actually the attackers didn’t say those words.

This clearly shows that there was no communal angle to the incident and the attack was clearly sparked by a scuffle over cricket. Attempts to portray it as communal comes across only as a desperate ploy to paint Muslims as victims of hate crimes regardless of the nature of the crime itself.

In the past as well, crimes against Muslims were portrayed as a hate crime despite the fact that such crimes had no religious motivations and in fact, had occurred as a consequence of a fight over other matters.

One such crime had taken place over a seat in a train, which was given the colour of religious hate crime by media two years ago. In 2017, one Muslim man named Junaid was murdered in a moving train. Numerous media houses spun a yearn that he was murdered due to a suspicion that he was carrying beef. The Liberal elite had even taken to the streets and initiated the “Not in my name” protests. But later it turned out that the entire narrative was based on a lie. The Punjab and Haryana High Court in its judgment the following year confirmed that the murder was a consequence of a seat dispute and there was no communal angle to it.

The Junaid murder and now the Gurugram incident where efforts were made to give a crime committed against Muslims a communal colour despite the fact that they were motivated by other factors is part of a larger pattern.

IndiaSpend runs a biased ‘hate-tracker’, the entire purpose of which is to paint Muslims as victims of hate crimes regardless of actual motivations. For instance, in September 2018, when one Azhar Khan was beaten up for fishing near a temple, it was considered a hate crime even though the motive were nowhere religious and IndiaSpend was not aware of the identity of the perpetrators as per their own data.

Thus, it appears that the same people who cannot see religious motivations behind terrorism even when the terrorist loudly proclaims that he was killing people for Allah are ever eager to paint Muslims as victims of hate crimes and Hindus as aggressors despite a clear lack of evidence. On many occasions, there exists evidence to the contrary.

Therefore, it is clear that for liberals and ‘secular’ politicians, their main objective is to derive electoral benefits and score brownie points whenever such crimes occur. They might claim that they are trying to ‘heal’ the divide in society, however, with their actions and their fake narratives, they are only succeeding in creating a greater divide.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala’s silence on abduction and forceful conversion of two Hindu girls is deafening

The abduction and forceful religious conversion of two Hindu girls- Raveena and Reena in Pakistan’s Sindh has not only shocked the conscience of people across the world but also exposed the bigotry that exists in societies of the terrorist state of Pakistan.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, the face of the ‘signature feminists’ movements across the world, has been tight-lipped about the heinous abducting and conversions of two Hindu sisters in her country Pakistan. Malala, who often preaches the world about feminist adventures and jumps in to display her intellect over human rights issues especially against women across the world seems to have not found her voice to condemn bigotry of Pakistanis as she could face severe backlash within her own country.

However, social media users, who often exposes these kinds of hypocrisy have yet again done so by questioning Malala’s selectivity in condemning human rights abuses. Social media users have been asking Malala to take a stand and condemn the barbaric incident of conversion of two under-age Hindu girls in her country Pakistan. They questioned the silence of Malala who claims to be an ambassador of peace.

Some other social media users reacted angrily on the hypocrisy of feminists like Malala and termed them as the ‘biggest scam’ for not uttering even a word regarding the abductions and conversions that have been perpetrated by Islamists in her own country.

After several social media users and activists questioned the silence of Malala, she resorted to blocking users after they asked her to seek justice from the Pakistani government for the abduction and forceful conversion by Islamists in Pakistan.

Interestingly, the barbaric incidents of abductions, conversions and killings of minority Hindus in the terrorist state of Pakistan not only reveals the level of religious intolerance that exists in Islamic societies but also exposes how people like Malala Yousafzai, who made so much fortune and fame out of these signature feminist movements tend to keep their voices firmly shut when it comes to condemning the atrocities against religious minorities in Muslim-majority nations.

After ‘Modi removed your name from voter list’, AAP allegedly calls up people pretending to be radio channel

Political parties seem to have newer tricks up their sleeves to mislead voters in the upcoming general elections. On Sunday, Anant Vijay, a Noida-based journalist received a phone call from an unknown number where the caller claimed he was calling on behalf of a radio channel. The caller proceeded to ask him which political party will he vote for in the upcoming elections.

Anant Vijay said that after he told the caller that he will complain about this to the election commission, the caller abruptly disconnected the call.

Another Delhi resident, Nishant Sharma, too received a call from an unknown number with same modus operandi.

Another call from ‘Radio Channel’

Other Twitter users also raised this concern.

Some Twitter users claimed that the caller from ‘radio channel’ then started speaking about Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party.

Others, too, suspected Aam Aadmi Party’s role in this dirty trick.

Truecaller, an app which helps people identify unknown numbers, reflected one of the numbers to be of Aam Aamdi Party.

Aam Aadmi Party’s involvement in such tricks cannot be completely ruled out. As reportedearlier, AAP call centre has been making phone calls to people in Delhi the telling them that BJP has deleted their names from the voter list, and Arvind Kejriwal was restoring their names. Several people have reported receiving such calls, and some of them posted recordings of the calls on social media also.

After people raised objections on the misleading calls they received, the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi had requested the Delhi police to investigate the phone calls that many people in Delhi have been receiving telling that their name has been struck off from the voter list. In a letter written to the Delhi Police Commissioner on February 2, Election Officer Manoj Kumar said that they have various written complaints in this regard, and prima facie it appears that the matter needs to be thoroughly investigated. The Delhi Police had lodged an FIR on February 10.

Following this, the Delhi Police initiated action against Aam Aadmi Party call centres to take “requisite action” against those making ‘misleading’ phone calls to people about Delhi’s electoral roll. As usual, Delhi CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal held Amit Shah responsible for the action initiated by the Delhi Police against the call centres employed by AAP.

NC Lok Sabha candidate Akbar Lone begins a rally with ‘Pakistan Zindabad’, says will abuse anyone who abuses Pakistan

National Conference’s Parliamentary candidate for Baramulla constituency Akbar Lone while addressing a rally in Kupwara, Kashmir, said, “Pakistan Zindabad”.

As per reports, while addressing a public rally, Lone said that when a BJP leader shouted ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ on his face, he answered back with ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. He further said that he had raised the pro-Pakistan slogan with responsibility.

“Mera paar wala wo musalmaan mulk(Pak)hai,wo abaad rahay, woh kamyaab rahe, hamari aur unki dosti badhe, Pakistan aur Hindustan ki dosti aapas mein rahe, uss dosti ka mai aashiq hun…Agar unko koi aik gali dega mai unko yahan se dass galiyan de dunga,” Lone said to a cheering crowd.

Adding that the nation across is a Muslim country and he wishes it flourishes and reaches new heights and out friendship grows. “I am a fan of the India-Pakistan friendship. If anyone abuses them, I will abuse them back ten times more,” Lone said.

Earlier, in February 2018 too Akbar Lone had shouted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogan in Jammu & Kashmir assembly. His pro-Pakistan slogan back then was in response to anti-Pakistan slogan raised by BJP leader in the assembly following a suicide attack on army camp in Sujwan, Jammu. Even then, Omar Abdullah had refused to apologise.

AAP propaganda site owner gets angry after India expresses concerns over atrocities against Hindus in Pakistan

The barbaric act of abducting two Hindu girls aged 13 and 15 in Pakistan’s Sindh region has incited many sane voices in the country and in India too. The girls were abducted from their home on the eve of Holi and have since been forcibly converted and married off to Muslim men.

Many Pakistani journalists and liberal voices had highlighted the issue as one more example of the way minorities are being denied their basic rights in Pakistan.

After the news was circulated widely in both countries and images and videos of the girls went viral on social media, the heinous act of forcing two underage girls into religious conversion and then marriage has attracted widespread criticism. The concerned Mosque and the clerics seem to have no fear of the law as they proudly pronounce the underage girls converted and married.

Yesterday, Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, had taken cognizance of the issue and had instructed the Indian High Commission in Pakistan to send a report on the incident.

Sushma Swaraj’s move to seek details of the Incident had agitated quite a few people in Pakistan, including their Information and Broadcasting minister Ch Fawad Hussain, who saw it as an intervention in Pakistan’s internal matters. He had attempted to trigger a war of words with Sushma Swaraj who, in turn, had pointed out coolly that his agitation only shows Pakistan’s guilty conscience.

However, it seems that apart from Pakistani politicians and fundamentalists, Sushma Swaraj’s stand on the issue has managed to anger some people on this side of the border too.

Rifat Jawaid, the owner of AAP-centric propaganda blog Janta Ka Reporter, had become so agitated with Sushma Swaraj seeking a report from its own High Commission in Pakistan that he saw it as an attack on Pakistan’s ‘Muslim country’ identity and called for all Muslim countries in the world to rally against India and seek a report from the Indian government ‘every time a Muslim is targeted’ in India.

Via Twitter

Speaking like a dedicated spokesperson of Pakistan, Jawed even passionately called for a UN resolution against India as there are ‘too many countries with Muslim rulers’.

It is indeed surprising that how some self-proclaimed flag bearers of human rights and liberalism have chosen to shut their eyes to the issue of two barely adolescent girls, aged 13 and 15, being married off to older men to be raped after a forcible conversion.

There have been innumerable cases of Hindu and Christian girls being kidnapped, forcibly converted and being married to Muslims in Pakistan. In the case of the recent kidnappings in Sindh, the Hindu community there had to take to streets just to get an FIR lodged at the police station. The concerned Bharchoondi mosque and its chief Mian Mitho have been accused of systematically carrying out such acts over a long period of time and enjoying governmental patronage.

Congress fed Biryani to terrorists, Modi government fed them bullets and bombs: Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while speaking at the Vijay Sankalp Sabha of the BJP in Saharanpur today, launched a scathing attack on Congress Party. Slamming the Congress Party for their lenient approach on terrorism, Yogi said that the Modi government is dealing terrorism with an iron fist and is feeding terrorists bombs and bullets, unlike Congress which fed them Biryani.

“During opposition’s time, terrorists would be fed biryani. We feed terrorists bullets and bombs,” said Yogi. The Uttar Pradesh CM said that Azhar Masood, the Chief of Pakistan based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad which had claimed the responsibility of the Pulwama terror attack, will face the same consequences as Osama Bin Laden. “You must have heard Osama Bin Laden’s name. He was killed brutally. One day, Azhar Masood will be killed in a similar fashion. You don’t worry,” roared Yodi. Yogi visited the Shakumbhari Devi temple in Saharanpur before addressing the rally.

Without taking any names, Yogi hit out the Congress candidate from Saharanpur, Imran Masood who had threatened to chop off PM Modi during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Calling Imran Masood son-in-law of Masood Azhar, Yogi asked people to decide whether someone who speaks the language of Masood Azhar should be allowed to win.

Yogi criticised Congress politician Sam Pitroda and called him a shame for seeking the proof of death toll in the Balakot air strikes. “There is a mahaguru in Congress. A mahaguru for generations. His name is Sam. But he has become ‘shame’ for the country. He questions the bravery of forces,” said Yogi.

Chandrababu Naidu calls PM Modi a ‘demon’, JDS MLA wants to ‘crush jaws’ of Modi supporters: Politics in India reaches a new low

Continuing the Opposition’s tradition of hurling abuses towards Prime Minister Modi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu called Prime Minister Modi a ‘demon for minorities’. Addressing a rally in Andhra Pradesh’s Rayachoti, the former NDA ally even indulged in fearmongering by blaming PM Modi for 2002 Gujarat riots. He added that Modi wants to put minorities in jail through the triple talaq legislation.

“In Narendra Modi’s governance, who among you minorities are happy? Are you happy? Every day people are getting scared. Attacks in UP, assault on girl children in J&K. In the same way, they wanted to bring in Triple Talaq legislation and put our minorities in jail,” Naidu said addressing a rally.

Apparently, it is not just PM Modi but even his supporters have come under attack from the opposition. A JDS MLA, Shivaling Gowda lashed out on BJP supporters for chanting pro-Modi slogans. “Crush the jaws of those who come and shout ‘Modi, Modi’,” Gowda said addressing a rally.

Recently, Karnataka Congress MLA B Narayan Rao had called PM Modi ‘namard’, triggering a row.“Those who are namard can get married but can’t have children, PM Modi can get married but can’t have children. This is not a PM who works, but a PM who lies,” he had said.

Prior to that, Congress leader and actress Vijaya Shanti had equated PM Modi to a terrorist. While addressing a rally in Shamshabad, Telangana Shanti said, “Everyone is scared that at what moment Modi will shoot the bomb. He looks like a terrorist. Instead of loving people, he is scaring people. It’s not the way how a PM should be.” Shockingly, this disgraceful statement was made in the presence of Congress President Rahul Gandhi, but knowing his disposition it is only obvious that there was no condemnation for his side.

In fact, Karnataka Congress leader Belur Gopalakrishna had also called for the assassination of Prime Minister Modi.

With the first round of voting just days away, the attacks may just get worse with elected public representatives putting all kind of civilities and public decorum on the backburner to upstage each other in showering choicest abuses towards each other.

Karti Chidambaram who is facing probe by CBI and ED, fielded by Congress from Shivganga, Tamil Nadu

Congress released the list of 10 candidates today which included the name of Karti Chidambaram, son of senior Congress leader P Chidambaram. Karti Chidambaram will be contesting from Shivganga in Tamil Nadu.

Chidambaram who is contesting elections for a second time said that he firmly believed in the strength of the party.

The Chidambarams have been facing investigation in a number of cases including money laundering and having undisclosed foreign assets. Karti Chidambaram has been charged in cases like INX Media case and Aircel Maxis case. P Chidambarams has also been facing an investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Aircel Maxis case.

Karti’s wife Sunidhi and mother Nalini who have complaints registered against them under the Black money Act are facing allegations of having undisclosed foreign assets in which chargesheet has been by the Income Tax Department. Karti’s mother Nalini has her name involved in the infamous Saradha Chit Fund scam.

Karti Chidambaram was questioned last month by the ED in relation to the INX Media case.

It is thus interesting, that the Congress party would field a candidate who is being investigated for several scams while Congress President Rahul Gandhi chants ‘chowkidaar chor hai’.

Congress communication cell head posts maliciously edited video of BJP leader Kalraj Mishra’s speech to distort his comments

Congress leader and communications in-charge of the party Randeep Singh Surjewala has been caught maliciously editing a video to attribute a quote to Kalraj Mishra to malign the BJP leader. On 24th March, Surjewala posted a video clip claiming that Kalraj Mishra had said, ‘if this was my state, I would have got down from the stage and fired bullets at such persons who create such disturbances’. Surjewala added in his tweet, ‘is this the message of BJP, get bullets if you ask questions’.

In the video posted by Surjewala, BJP leader Kalraj Mishra is seen giving a speech at an election rally, and although it can be heard that he said ‘if this was my state’, the rest of his comments are not clear.

But soon it became clear that the veteran BJP leader didn’t make any such comment. The speech was live streamed on the Facebook of Kalraj Mishra, and his comments are clearly audible in that video. In the video of the live stream, it can be clearly head that he said, ‘if this was my state, I would have got down from the stage and talked there itself’, he didn’t say anything about firing bullets.

Kalraj Mishra was addressing an election rally at Faridabad on 24th March, and during that rally, some party workers were protesting against current BJP MP Krishan Pal Gurjar and raising slogans against him. Reacting to this, Mishra is heard saying, ‘I would not let this happen here, if someone wants to create disturbance here, I pray them to go away from here. We all are seeing who are creating disturbances. People who create disturbances in a meeting, and call themselves supporters of Modi are liars.’

He added by giving his own example, ‘party decided that people over 75 years of age should consider not contesting the election, I am over 80 so I decided that I would not contest. Contesting election is not the sole benchmark. I felt very bad. If this was my state, I would have got down and talk there itself’. His comments can be heard at the beginning of his speech.

From the live video of the speech, it is clear that Kalraj Mishra was speaking about talking to people, not firing at them. But the Congress leader maliciously twisted his remarks, and also posted an edited video where the audio is not clear so that people can’t hear the actual comment.

Reacting to the tweet of Surjewala, Haryana BJP tweeted the link to the full video of the speech and asked him to indicate where did Mishra said anything about bullets. They also demanded that Surjewala should apologise for his false claim and delete his tweet.

Kalraj Mishra himself also reacted to the tweet of Surjewala, saying this is a fresh example of Congress trying to fool people.

He clarified that he said he would have talked to people there itself if it was his state. Faridabad MP Krishnan Pal Gurjar also tweeted to refute the allegations of the Congress leader. He said that there should be limits in lying. But now so much white lies are being spread in the daylight that people have become experts in telling lies, Gurjar added.
