Scratch a woke, feminist millennial, find a sexual predator

Back in the day, before Narendra Modi joined Twitter and forever changed the course of Indian Twitter, Twitter had bloggers who had discovered the micro-blogging sites, parody accounts (Chetan Bhagat had a dedicated Satan Bhagat) and generally funny, interesting people. Most had a joke or two on wordplay, puns and Bollywood. Then 2014 happened and there were Modi supporters, condescendingly referred to as ‘Bhakts’ and those who opposed Modi, the ones who referred to his supporters as ‘Bhakts’, the new age ‘liberals’.

Riding on political jokes, the funny men, the parody accounts were now standup comics. Modi jokes were the easiest way to offend the supporters, some of whom would get offensive towards these flagbearers of free speech and political incorrectness. Soon, jokes were written just to trigger a Bhakt. The jokes had moved from 140 characters to stages and videos. Realising the potential of Facebook, SnapChat and YouTube amongst the younger crowd, which is most of their target audience, they moved to these platforms. To reach out to the young, impressionable ones. The ones, who in their first year of college, are looking forward to their first Valentine’s Day, but the Bajrang Dal is ready to either get them arrested or married off, thereby pushing them towards the ‘liberals’ who talk about #LoveIsLove.

They are young, charming, social media savvy and very responsive to fans. They have a way with words which young girls, especially teens and girls in their early twenties could find extremely flattering. That also makes these young girls susceptible to harassment, by the very people they look up to.

Twitter is full of these young stand up comics, lawyers, ‘poets’, ‘journalists’, who like to call themselves progressive just because they are ‘courageous’ enough to voice out their opinion which is against the current government. They are considered liberals, intellectuals for mocking the ‘Bhakts’ with a joke or two on Rahul Gandhi, just to come across as ‘politically neutral’. They also identify themselves as feminists and make their misogyny laced comments disguised as ‘jokes’ with punchlines which they would joke how ‘Bhakts’ would do. The audience would get it… mostly because they would have come across such behaviour from men, irrespective of their political inclination, but perception is created that only ‘bhakts’ abuse.

And then, once in every few months, you would come across how one of these ‘woke’, feminist millennial is nothing more than a sexual predator. Twitter user @AGirlOfHerWords, in a series of tweets, today accused a stand up comic, Utsav Chakraborty, who was previously known as @Satan_Bhagat on Twitter (as Chetan Bhagat’s parody), of sexually predatory behaviour. This included allegations of advances he made towards minor girls.

Mahima shared various screenshots she had received from various girls who had come out and accused Utsav of sending unsolicited ‘d*ck pics’ (every girl I know on Twitter has received at least one at some point), asking for nude images of girls and even justifying them.

Twitter user accusing Utsav of asking her for nudes

And this is not it. All India Bakchod (AIB), people who regularly hire him for their sketches, were made aware of the accusations levelled against him.

So, the ‘woke’ feminists from AIB, Rohan Joshi, Tanmay Bhat, Gursimran Khamba and Ashish Shakya knew, yet none of them called him out.

More stories tumbled out with other ‘woke feminists’ being accused of harassing girls.

More allegations followed.

And the threats.

And as I said, young ones are conditioned to believe this is ‘liberal’ behaviour because they publicly identify themselves as ‘liberals’ and ‘progressive’.

‘liberal values’

Unfortunately, Utsav is not the first ‘woke, feminist’ to have been accused of displaying sexual predatory behaviour.

In February this year, another popular name in the poetry circle, 24-year-old Shamir Reuben who regularly spoke on empowerment, gender equality and feminism, was accused of sexually harassing minors. And even then hardly anyone spoke up against ‘one of their own’.

All India Bakchod has released a statement saying that they will investigate the case and till then have pulled down videos featuring him.

This incident comes close on the heels of charges of sexual harassment put up by actor Tanushree Dutta against Nana Patekar back in 2008. Even in her case, the high and mighty like Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan have steered clear from extending explicit support to her.

And if you think such behaviour is prevalent only in the entertainment industry or amongst people only in the social media, you are wrong. Last year around this time, a damning list of academics in Indian institutes was put up on Facebook by a student, where she had accused the professors mentioned in the list of engaging in sexual harassment. At that time, champion of naming and shaming sexual harassers, the Leftists cabal had taken it upon themselves to prove how this naming and shaming was ‘blackening faces’ and they were uneasy with the name and shame list. The statement is signed by 12 self proclaimed feminists including Ayesha Kidwai, the Leftist professor from JNU, who believes she is a parallel judiciary by leading a public inquiry against the Vice-Chancellor of JNU, Nivedita Menon, who believes Kashmir is not an integral part of India, Vrinda Grover, the advocate who rallied to save Yakub Memon and Kavita Krishnan, pro-Naxal ideologue activist who tried to pass off Diwali as a non-religious festival.

In wake of Harvey Weinstein incident, a lot of people are coming out and retelling the horrors of men in powerful position abusing their power by sexually harassing women, and even men. Hence, it comes as a shock when the torchbearers of feminism in India are actively trying to suppress these voices by being silent and complicit in the act perpetrated by the predators.

And not only have the so-called liberals come around to shield one of their own they have even come out and asked people to ‘rethink’ the allegations because with 2019 elections around the corner, it is necessary now more than before to stand united against the ‘fascist Modi’ regime, even if it means ignoring abuse of power. From Tehelka’s Tarun Tejpal to former TERI (The Energy and Resource Institute) chief R K Pachauri, the ‘liberals’ have downplayed the molestation charges and tried to silence those who spoke up.

Men, and even women, who abuse the power they have because of social standing or the position they hold, tend to get away with this behaviour because victims are threatened, abused, bullied for raising their voices. The victims are made to believe that speaking up could ‘ruin their lives’ because of the rampant victim shaming that takes place. It is all about the display of power. That they have a hold over you. As Oscar Wilde said, “Everything is about sex. Except for sex. Sex is about power.” Not necessarily that the predator is attracted to the victim, but because they have the power to manipulate the situation to a ‘win’.

And the left ecosystem does indeed look out for one of their own, even if it goes against everything they pretend to stand for.

Modi government cuts fuel prices by Rs. 2.50, Maharashtra and Gujarat slash prices by an additional Rs. 2.50

Relenting to demands for giving some relief to consumers from rising petrol and diesel prices, the government of India has decided to cut prices of both the fuels by ₹2.50 today. Addressing a press conference, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley informed that union government has decided to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel by ₹1.50, while oil marketing companies will cut their prices on the fuels by ₹1.00, thereby giving a total relief of ₹2.50 to consumers. The finance minister noted that the international price of Brent crude has reached $86 per barrel which is highest in the last several years, and cutting excise duty on retail fuel has become necessary. The government will take a hit of ₹21,000 crore due to this cut.

The finance minister added that ministry is writing to all the states to match the cut and reduce VAT (Value Added Tax) on petrol and diesel by ₹2.50 so that prices of both the fuels come down by ₹5.00. He added that it will be interesting to see which states will cut VAT, it will be known whether political party leaders genuinely want to give relief to consumers or it is just rhetoric when they protest high fuel prices. The finance minister noted that while the component of excise duty in fuel price is fixed, the VAT charged by states on it is variable, as it is a percentage of the price. Therefore, when the fuel price goes up, the VAT states receive also go up. Due to this reason, states are in a better position to reduce their component of tax on fuel.

As per latest reports, the chief ministers of Maharashtra and Gujrat, both ruled by the BJP, have already announced the VAT reduction by  ₹2.50.

The stocks of oil marketing companies fell sharply after this announcement, as they are asked to absorb a cut of ₹1.00 on the price. The market was already down today, and this announcement made the matter worse for OMCs. In just 20 minutes when finance minister made the announcement, share of HPCL fell by 22%, BPCL’s share price fell by 18%, IOC share price also came down by 18%.

Supreme Court denies bail to Abhijit Iyer Mitra, says ‘safest place for him to be is jail’

The supreme court has dismissed the protection from arrest petition moved by journalist Abhijit Iyer Mitra against his arrest by Odisha police over alleged derogatory remarks on the Konark temple. According to reports, the 3-judge bench stated that Iyer Mitra’s comments have incited religious sentiments and he cannot be granted bail.

Justice Gogoi had reportedly taken up the matter on an urgent basis after being informed that it is a matter of civil liberty of an individual. A three-member bench in the Supreme Court headed by CJI Gogoi then took up the case for hearing. Arguing in favour of his protection against arrest, when Iyer Mitra’s lawyer stated that his life is in danger, CJI Gogoi reportedly stated that if that is the case, the jail might be the safest place for him to be.

It is notable here that Abhijit Iyer Mitra had stoked controversy after he has shared a Tweet in which he allegedly insulted religious sentiments. Though he had mentioned that his remarks were humorous in nature and not meant to offend, a huge controversy was created in Odisha where the state assembly moved a privilege motion against him. He was detained by Odisha police on 20 September.

Though there were protests and political statements over Abhijit’s remarks, it was also opined by many that he was being targeted because he was a guest of Baijayant Panda, the former BJD MP who was expelled from the party by BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik earlier this year. The state authorities have also launched an inquiry against Panda who had taken Abhijit Mitra and journalist Arti Tikoo Singh on a chopper ride over Chilika lake. Panda’s chopper was seized by authorities in Odisha for alleged violation of norms.

Many prominent personalities on social media have reacted on the SC’s dismissal of Mitra’s bail petition.

Iyer Mitra was on a trip to Odisha where he was hosted briefly by Baijayant Panda who had personally taken him and Arti Tikoo Singh on a chopper ride over many tourist attractions in the coastal state.

Blame it on the rodents: Bihar police shrugs off blame on ‘drunkard rats’ for missing seized liquor

0

With commoners giving up consuming alcohol in Bihar in the aftermath of the state government imposing a total ban on sale and consumption of liquor in the state in 2016, the rats of the state have seemed to have taken up the mantle!

Two hundred cans of confiscated beer kept in the excise department storeroom in Bihar’s Kaimur district have been found emptied with holes on their aluminium-and-steel top. The startling revelation came to light on Monday when the authorities in Kaimur district opened the storeroom to destroy the illegal liquor stocks seized during the raids in the past two years. As the matter flared up the police shrugged off the blame on the rodents.

Bhabhua Sub Divisional Magistrate, (SDM) Kumari Anupama Singh said, “Well this is the handiwork of the rats. Prima facie it appears the rats made holes into the beer caps with their sharp teeth to sip alcohol. We can say with certainty since all the seized cartons were found to be still safely packed but only the alcohol missing from the cans.”

Local excise superintendent Pradeep Kumar said, that the rodents might have destroyed alcohol worth about Rs. 10,000. As per reports, a total of 11,584 bottles of liquor were stored in the storeroom.

However, retired Bihar chief secretary of undivided Bihar and Jharkhand, VS Dubey claimed that it’s not the rat but the policemen who are “either drinking or selling confiscated liquor”. He suspected a big fraud behind the entire situation.

This is, however, not the first time the blame for missing alcohol and narcotics has been shipped on to ‘drunkard rodents’.

In August 2018, the Supreme Court had taken a dig at law enforcement agencies, mainly the police for not taking any steps to prevent smuggling out of crores worth of seized narcotics from police malkhanas across the country. That time too, the police had maintained that 100s of kgs of heroin, which had disappeared from the police malkhanas had been consumed by the rats.

Last year in May, officials in Patna blamed rats for drinking several lakh litres of alcohol in police malkhanas. In yet another such shocking incident, rats were reported of consuming 45 kgs of weed that was in possession with Dhandbad police, Jharkhand last year.

Similarly, in another case reported from Maharashtra, rodents consumed 34 kg of drugs from customs godown at Sewri in Maharashtra. According to reports, the contraband that went missing from the godown in Sewri in 2014 was worth Rs 3.4 crore in the international market.

Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat elections: The mark of a new dawn and perhaps, a new destiny

From proclaiming slain terrorists such as Burhan Wani as freedom fighters, and even issuing postage stamps in their honour, Pakistan has done a lot to harm India’s peace and unity. It has gone to war on four occasions in its 70-year existence and has continuously indulged in activities both subtle and not so hidden to undermine internal harmony of its easterly neighbour.

Amongst its primary areas of interest lies the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and it has successfully managed to create an environment where both the local Kashmiri as well as millions of citizen across other parts of India often question the ‘price’ that is being paid to ‘retain’ the state within the union of India. In what could possibly be the perfect foil to the decades-long psy-op played by Pakistan, the government of India’s decision to hold urban local body and panchayat elections in the state have the potential to change the conscious as well as the subconscious minds of the people of the state and make them play a greater role in their well-being.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that unbeknownst to the average Indian, the nation has been at war with Pakistan ever since it attained freedom from the British. The creation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was to counter the image of the Republic of India where the Constitution held everyone equal. Yet one of the first successful attempts to subvert India was to fabricate an idea that it was a nation where the minorities are not equal participants in nation building, ergo, secondary citizens.

Despite the fact that thousands of Muslims who migrated to Pakistan from India were treated as unequals and labelled ‘Mujahirs’ or in just over two decades of its creation Pakistan unleashed such a reign of terror on its own citizens that lived in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) that the country was split into two in 1971 or members of the Ahmadiyya Community that included the country’s first Nobel Prize laureate, Abdus Salam, were declared Non-Muslim by the then Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in 1973 and Pakistani Sikhs and Hindus undergoing religious discrimination ever since one could recall, Pakistan has always succeeded in making the world, and, ironically enough, even Indians themselves, believe that its India and not them where only the majority is making life hell for others.

In simpler words, this notion is what constitutes psy-ops and all attempts to further the Pakistani agenda have been at play for decades in India. As a nation, India has traditionally defined war in the conventional sense where battles are centered around the borders. While there has been an effort to change that approach, the biggest step in that direction is about to unfold. In addition to reestablishing democracy at the grassroots level in the state, the upcoming Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir would also see a bevvy of activities that would perhaps for the first time in a long time truly make the regular citizen of the state a stakeholder in their own future.

To be held in nine phases between October 8 and December 11, the Urban Local Body and Panchayat elections are the first of their kind in the state since 2005 and 2011 respectively. They would see the direct elections of sarpanches of the Panchayats, which would not only ensure accountability but also enable the locals to directly deal with the issues that trouble them the most. The elections would also see the release of Rs. 4,335 Cr of 14th Finance Commission Central grants to the duly constituted local bodies, which, otherwise would have continued to remain unused by the people of the state. It’s not just about the funds but the Panchayats, like most other Indian states, would also get the functioning of the subjects within the 73rd Amendment of the Constitution of India that includes outfits such as the primary health centres, primary schools, Anganwadi Centers et. al.

Every panchayat would also have the power to generate their own funds from Building Permission Fee, Taxes on entertainment, advertisement, hoardings, various kinds of businesses & profession etc. that would now come under them. What’s more, the Home Minister Rajnath Singh in a statement issued on 28 September also said that going forward the local representatives would be responsible for the implementation of national schemes and their coffers would be supplemented by the both Central and State Government funds for MGNERGA, PMAY, ICDS, Mid-Day meal etc.

Once the locals understand the role they are poised to play in the shaping of their future, the responsibility of maintaining a peaceful environment to let the promise of a glorious tomorrow unfold by ensuring a safe today becomes paramount. Pakistan has been running campaigns to tell Kashmiris that their future is not secure with India and ‘freedom’ is the only way ahead but steps such as the financial powers of a standard Panchayat being increased over ten times from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 1 Lac, Block Councils assured to get two and a half lac rupees instead of twenty-five thousand, and the Chief Executive Councillors also serve as Chairman of all Tourism Development Authorities, it’s not just freedom that is going to come the regular Kashmiri’s ways but the liberty to also chart their own course.

With so much at stake, it’s only natural for the Central Government to assure the people of the state of their safety. Reiterating the Modi-government’s commitment to see the tenets of democracy cover the final mile in Jammu and Kashmir, the Home Minister tweeted that the Centre would deploy sufficient numbers of Central forces to ensure that the elections are held smoothly and the fact that the state would get an unprecedented additional 400 companies of troops more than puts across the point that how important this exercise is. It’s therefore quite shocking that two of the big local political parties the National Conference (NC) and the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) do not want to participate in this process of giving power to theaamKashmiri. Both parties have opted to boycott the polls due to the Central Government’s stand on Article 35A, which grants special privileges to residents of J&K.

The subconscious mind absorbs it all and the brain, more often than not, tends to believe certain things because somewhere it has been conditioned so. Up until now, the mentality of the Kashmiri was being targeted to shape a certain reality by Pakistan as a part of its official policy and by the separatists owing to vested interests. Now, as the possibility of the happy reality of the Kashmiri actually shaping their mentality, which has been constantly stopped either by the gun or propaganda, increases those who stand to lose their traditional strong-hold cannot help but expose themselves.

People within Jammu & Kashmir, as well as other parts of the country, are beginning to question the powers as they are recognising that facts are extremely stubborn things and no amount of wishful thinking or inclinations can alter reality. A Junaid Mattu resigning as the spokesperson of National Conference over disagreements with the party leadership’s stand to boycott the polls, The All J&K Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) slamming both the NC and the PDP for resorting to their old tactics of “blackmailing” the Centre and state administration for their vested interests are just indicators of how the common folk of Jammu and Kashmir might be getting tired of the way things persist and are ready to write their own destiny.

Many fields of Humanities have been hijacked by a political ideology, latest hoax is the most recent confirmation

Three academics have a conducted a comprehensive expose of the propaganda that goes on in universities in the name of scholarship. They have managed to get reputed journals to publish absolutely absurd papers as part of a hoax. The academics, Helen Pluckrose, James Lindsay and Peter Boghossian, assert that the fact that these papers were published by reputed journals in the respected fields reveals the sheer crisis that academia is faced with.

The academics say, “Scholarship based less upon finding truth and more upon attending to social grievances has become firmly established, if not fully dominant, within these fields, and their scholars increasingly bully students, administrators, and other departments into adhering to their worldview. This worldview is not scientific, and it is not rigorous.”

They further go on to assert that the papers, which we will discuss soon, “blend in” very well with others in the disciplines that they were focusing on. The academics focused their attention on subjects such as Gender Studies, Cultural Studies, Fat Studies and the like. They use the term “Grievance Studies” to describe these fields collectively.

The academics claim that they wrote 20 such papers out of which 7 were accepted at various reputed journals and 4 of them had been published online. One such paper gained great appreciation from the reputed journal, ‘Gender, Place, and Culture’, and was honoured as one of the 12 leading pieces in ‘Feminist Geography’ as part of its 25th-anniversary celebration. The paper in question claims dog parks are “Petri dishes for canine ‘rape culture’ ” and issues “a call for awareness into the different ways dogs are treated on the basis of their gender and queering behaviours, and the chronic and perennial rape emergency dog parks pose to female dogs.”

Another paper titled ‘Who are they to judge? Overcoming anthropometry through fat bodybuilding’ that was published in the Journal ‘Fat Studies’ asserted that ‘Fat Bodybuilding’ should be introduced as a category in the sport of professional bodybuilding. The paper, which has been retracted after the author admitted it to be a hoax, states, “While fat activism has disrupted many dominant discourses that causally contribute to negative judgments about fat bodies, it has not yet penetrated the realm of competitive bodybuilding.

The author introduces fat bodybuilding as a means of challenging the prevailing assumptions of maximally fat-exclusionary (sports) cultures while raising fundamental ontological questions about what it means to “build a body.” Specifically, he advocates for imagining a new classification within bodybuilding, termed fat bodybuilding, as a fat inclusive politicized performance and a new culture to be embedded within bodybuilding.”

Another published paper asserts that men will be less transphobic and more feminist if they masturbate via anal penetration. The most atrocious, however, was the one where the authors rewrote a chapter from Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf. The paper, however, was published in a reputed journal.

The published hoax papers bring to mind the Sokal Hoax. Alan Sokal, a professor of Physics at New York University, submitted a paper in 1996 to Social Text, an academic journal of postmodern cultural studies where he argues that Quantum Gravity was a social and linguistic construct. The article declared that “it is becoming increasingly apparent that physical ‘reality'” is fundamental “a social and linguistic construct”.

It went on to state that because scientific research is “inherently theory-laden and self-referential”, it “cannot assert a privileged epistemological status with respect to counter-hegemonic narratives emanating from dissident or marginalized communities” and that therefore a “liberatory science” and an “emancipatory mathematics”, spurning “the elite caste canon of ‘high science'”, needed to be established for a “postmodern science [that] provide[s] powerful intellectual support for the progressive political project”. On the day of its publication, Sokal revealed that it was a hoax.

Thus far, we have discussed the hoax and content of the published hoax papers. Let us now explore some other papers which have been published by reputed journals in these fields that thus far have not been claimed to be hoaxes by anyone and therefore appear to be authentic.

In the paper, The Perilous Whiteness of Pumpkins, published by GeoHumanities, the author “examines the symbolic whiteness associated with pumpkins in the contemporary United States.” It says, “Pumpkins in popular culture also reveal contemporary racial and class coding of rural versus urban places.” And further asserts, “When considered vis-à-vis violence and activism that incorporated pumpkins, these analyses point toward the perils of equating pumpkins and whiteness.”

A paper was also published on ‘Viral Loads’, a homosexual pornographic movie was mired in controversy for its apparent glorification of contracting HIV AIDS. The abstract of the paper titled ‘Breeding futures: masculinity and the ethics of CUMmunion in Treasure Island Media’s Viral Loads‘ reads thus, “I examine his porn text Viral Loads to explore its implications for thinking future-orientated masculinities and community formations. I claim that Viral Loads forces us to rethink modern ideals of individual autonomy and bodily integrity, and alludes to alternative community formations enacted not by holding something in common but by relentlessly giving and exchanging foreign matter. By depicting ‘loads’ circulating between bodies posited as interfaces, Viral Loads gives us a porous and impure form of masculinity. In so doing, it breeds a queer future in which community ethics becomes an ethics of CUMmunion, a ‘cummoning’ with strangers that is offered as an alternative to the politics of self and other.”

Of course, there are hordes of other published papers that are deeply troubling to say the least and on occasions, downright absurd. One handle on Twitter that does a remarkable job of documenting such papers is @RealPeerReview.

Through @RealPeerReview, I became aware of another published paper which asserted that Milk is a symbol of and tool for White Superiority. The paper titled ‘Got Mylk? The Disruptive Possibilities of Plant Milk‘ states “milk has long had a sinister side, being bound up with the exploitation of the (human and nonhuman) bodies it comes from and being a symbol of and tool for white dominance and superiority.” The paper explores “plant milk’s potential as a “disruptive milk,” one that can break free from the exploitation and oppression long bound up in dairy milk, and argues that an act of verbal activism – replacing the “i” with a “y” to create “mylk” – may present plant milk advocates with an opportunity to reclaim and reinvent the word for the “post milk generation.”

There are countless other papers along the same lines which shows clearly that humanities as a field has been hijacked to further a particular ideology. More than the papers that are published, more concerning are the ones that are silenced due to ideological inclinations.

A paper on the ‘Greater Male Variability Hypothesis’ (GMVH) which asserts that there are more idiots and more geniuses among men than among women was made to “disappear” after formal publication. Another published paper is being subjected to a post-publication review due to research methodology apparently. However, concerns were also raised that “the conclusions of the study could be used to discredit efforts to support transgender youth and invalidate the perspectives of members of the transgender community.” Of course, the review could very well be because of the research methodology of the said paper but given the circumstances, politics appears likely to have played a part.

Coming back to the current hoax, Left-wing academics are now terming it a right-wing conspiracy. A professor of Gender Studies dubs the remarkable lack of intellectual rigour displayed by the journals as a coordinated attack from the right.

The field of Humanities is suffering a major crisis. The only reason academia continues to enjoy respect from society is because of the good work done by their predecessors and the fact that they hadn’t been subject to public scrutiny yet. But now, the public eye is turning towards their corrupt practices and unless they mend their ways, Humanities is threatened with losing its credibility completely.

While liberals weep for Rohingyas being deported, here is what they don’t want you to know

India’s decision, being the first of its kind, to deport seven Rohingya Muslims who were lodged in jail since 2012 for illegally entering India, though being lauded by the citizens has enthralled a lot of criticisms from the so-called ‘left-liberals’.

Advocate Prashant Bhushan submitted the application before a bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and K M Joseph seeking an urgent hearing into the matter. The bench has rejected Prashant Bhushan’s petition.

The Pseudo-liberals have seemed to have developed a penchant for opposing whatever the government is trying to implement without trying to decipher what is right and what is actually wrong.

Shekhar Gupta, one of the leaders of this band-wagon took to Twitter to oppose the deportation of these interlopers.

What is intriguing is that our so-called liberals, with their perennially misplaced sense of humanitarianism, seem to be still not satisfied with the existing challenges we are already facing in our overpopulated country and are willing to push the country into deeper threats wanting to accept illegal migrants who pose a security threat.

Rohingya Muslims are an ethnic group from the Rakhine State of Myanmar (Burma). Around 10 lakh Rohingyas have fled Myanmar after being deported due to rebellious activities against Burmese Nationals.

Rohingyas basically considering themselves to be descendants of Arabs have always had their affinity with countries like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia which is why Burmese government did not ever grant citizenship to them.

Several Rohingyas have been funded by Saudi Arabia and received training in Guerrilla Warfare by Taliban Fighters. One such Rohingya, who was born in Pakistan grew up to form the terrorist group called ‘Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army‘.

Though International media, Human Rights groups and our very own ‘liberals’ have always considered Rohingya Muslims the victimized community, facts speak otherwise.

Multiple reports of threats posed by Rohingyas across the country have surfaced. In one such instance, Rohingyas in Mewat were alleged to have links with terror networks. In another case, a whopping Rs 30 lakh cash was found in possession of a few Rohingya Muslims in Jammu & the J&K police suspected a terror funding case. In a concerted attempt to effect demographic change, an overwhelming number of Rohingyas travelled in long-distance trains from Northeastern states to southern parts of India, putting the law and order in those states under tremendous pressure.

Not only in India but if we closely observe the history of Burma we will see that violence was always been initiated by these Rohingya Muslims.

In 2012 Rakhine Riots were engineered after three Rohingya Muslims were convicted of raping a local Rakhine Buddhist woman. They burnt several Buddhist homes after the Friday prayer on June 8, 2012.

On October 9, 2016, nine Burmese policemen were brutally slaughtered by the Rohingya terrorists.

In August 2017, Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) attacked Buddhists and Burmese police authorities killing over ninety people. Following this attack over hundred Hindus were abducted and killed by Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, while the women were forced to convert.

The ARSA members on 26 August attacked the Hindu village of Ah Nauk Kha Maung Seik. “In this brutal and senseless act, members of ARSA captured scores of Hindu women, men and children, and terrorised them before slaughtering them outside their own villages”, as reported by BBC.

There are approximately 40,000 Rohingya Muslims in India, several indulging in criminal activities, drug trafficking, executing terror activities teaming up with ISI sleeper cells. Though being warned several times by the Intelligence agencies, media has often downplayed the extent of the threat posed by these interlopers. In this alarming situation, it is only wise to support the deportation and save our country from the constant National security threats conceived by these obtruders.

Supreme Court rejects Sanjiv Bhatt’s wife’s plea challenging his arrest in drug planting case

The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a petition filed by disgraced former cop Sanjiv Bhatt’s wife Shweta Bhatt, challenging the investigation against her husband who has been accused of implicating a Rajasthan-based lawyer in a 22-year-old narcotics case.

According to the reports, the Supreme Court bench comprised of CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and KM Joseph were of the view that the facts of the case are highly contentious, and said the Court is not inclined to intervene at this point. “The court cannot interfere with ongoing investigations,” said the bench.

The top court said that petitioner could apply for regular bail and ordered them to approach the High Court in accordance with the law and specified that the dismissal of this petition will not affect their further appeal in any other courts.

Former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt was arrested by the Gujarat CID over a 1998 case of planting drugs. The Palanpur Drug planting case pertains to an incident in 1998 when Sanjiv Bhatt was serving as the DCP of Banaskantha. He was then accused of trying to frame lawyer Sumersingh Rajpurohit in a fake narcotics case under Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act by planting 1.25 kg opium in a hotel room in Palanpur in Banaskantha district in 1996.

Sanjiv Bhatt’s wife, Shweta Bhatt had moved three petitions in the apex court alleging that her husband has been taken into custody in “the most arbitrary manner”. She had accused of not letting Bhatt execute Vakalatnama and any other documents required mandatorily to file a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court.

Sanjiv Bhatt, a known baiter of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been caught several times for running anti-India propaganda and disgracing women by sharing morphed images and fake news.

Vivek Agnihotri’s assistant says Tanushree Dutta’s claims are unfair

In the wake of the controversy that had erupted after actress Tanushree Dutta levelled claims of sexual harassment against Actor Nana Patekar and Director Vivek Agnihotri, claiming that Agnihotri had asked her to strip on a movie set, several allegations and counter-allegations have been doing rounds on social and mainstream media.

Recently, a former associate of Vivek Agnihotri, who claims to have been the assistant director for the movie ‘Chocolate’. Tanushree Dutta had alleged that she was asked to strip during the shooting of one of the songs.

Sattyajit Gazmer, the person who claims to the assistant director during the movie shoot, has shared in a Facebook post that the accusations are untrue and are being misconstrued by the media. He has stated that the song shoot Tanushree refers to was to be shot in several takes under a multi-camera setup. He has added that since Tanushree was new to the field she had difficulties understanding instructions had to take many takes for a scene. She also had the habit of disappearing into her van for a long time.

He adds further that it was the third day of the shoot and the entire staff on the set was hassled due to delays. The song had a dance sequence featuring Tanushree where she had to be wet under a leaking pipe. As the sequence was requiring many takes, Sattyajit claims that he had asked two female assistants to give Tanushree a bathrobe over her costume after every take to keep her warm. He claims that they had also arranged for extra lights so she does not get cold.

He explains further that in a particular scene since it was a multi-camera set-up, the camera has to capture Tanushree dancing from behind and then move to capture another co-star. He adds that since Tanushree still had a bathrobe on for the rehearsal of the steps and did not understand that she was going to be shot in the scene too, the assistants had to ask her to take off the bathrobe. Sattyajit adds further that Tanushree did not understand the instruction and asked why did she have to take off the bathrobe as the camera was capturing the other actor.

Sattyajit adds here that Tanushree had little idea about technicalities of the shooting and they had to explain it to her that the main camera will be shooting her co-actor but other cameras will be on her so she had to take off her bathrobe and dance in the film costume which she was wearing underneath.

Sattyajit Gazmer on Facebook

Sattyajit explains further that the media has hyped and twisted the facts and Tanushree was never asked to strip, but she was only asked to take off her bathrobe and do the dance steps in her movie costume which she was already wearing. In the Facebook post, he had mentioned that Vivek was always cordial and caring towards Tanushree and during the incident that is being highlighted, almost 200 people, including senior actors, Tanushree’s manager and even Pallavi Joshi, the acclaimed actress and Vivek Agnihotri’s wife, were present on the sets.

He has also added that right after the shooting of the song sequence, the film crew went to London for a 40-day long schedule and Tanushree had gone there with her sister. He also adds that whenever the shooting went till late hours Vivek Agnihotri used to personally make sure that Tanushree is dropped home safely. On one occasion, he adds that he himself and Vivek had kept waiting in the hotel lobby for a whole night as Tanushree had not been back from a party she was attending and her mother was worried. He had also added that on later occasions too, Tanushree had spoken to him and Vivek and had asked them to help her find work.

As per recent developments, both Vivek Agnihotri and Nana Patekar have issued legal notices to Tanushree for defamation. Tanushree has stated to the media that she is anguished and alleged that the teams of both men are actively indulging in a smear campaign against her. Vivek Agnihotri has shared a press release that says Dutta allegations are false and his lawyers have served a legal notice to Dutta for initiation of a defamation suit.

Earlier, a video had surfaced and many celebrities have claimed that goons were called by the producers trying to intimidate Dutta but it was found to be a false claim. Recently, actor Shakti Kapor, who was himself accused of ‘casting couch’ for seeking sexual favours in exchange of work in the film industry, was criticised for ‘mocking’ Tanushree Dutta’s allegations.

Modi’s IBC is making defaulters pay back Rs 1.1 lakh crore and Congress is bound to be unhappy

Recently, on several platforms, Prime Minister Modi has finally been taking on the Congress over the issue of “phone banking” during the UPA years. Those were the days when the “naamdars” would call up the banks on behalf of big business and get them to hand out lakh crore loans like candy. Keep in mind that most of these happened to be Public Sector Banks, which means that the people of India would be on the hook when these loans went into default.

Now, we were already aware of the sinister deals that would be finalized in secret phone calls during the UPA era. Remember the famous tapes involving a lobbyist, a celebrity journalist, a big business house and a Cabinet Ministry that later became the focal point of a now legendary scam?

But the true extent of the rot was revealed by PM Modi when he stated that while our banks had collectively lent Rs 34 lakh crore just between 2008 and 2014. This is near twice the entire amount of Rs 18 lakh crore that the banks had lent in all the years from 1947 to 2008.

When the NDA government was sworn into office in May 2014, a full disclosure of the UPA’s loan disaster would have led to unprecedented panic, further sinking the economy. But now the ship has been steadied, with India cementing its position as the fastest growing (major) economy in the world. In 2013, they would speak of India as being a “fragile five” economy. At the end of 2018, the world prepares to welcome India into the top five economies in the world by GDP. The journey of India from “fragile five” to “top five” is nearly complete.

The focus of Modi government was therefore to stop the bleeding, to see to it that loan conditions were strictly followed and to bring back whatever could be brought back. When the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code Bill was passed in 2016, it received little fanfare. Quietly, the Modi government had enacted a sweeping reform. And now we have this:

And this:

So what was the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code? In simple terms, it created a speedy time-bound mechanism where a creditor can appeal if a company is not paying back its loans. Again, the key words here are *speedy* and *time bound*. The exact time limits vary depending on the size of the company, but in most cases, the matter must be resolved within 180 days. If the company refuses to pay up, the owners of the company will lose control, their assets will be seized and sold in order to pay back their loans.

In other words, the code puts an end to the days when a big business could take out all the loans it wanted and then turn into a wilful defaulter, bullying its creditors, refusing to pay back the money. They have 180 days to pay or else they will lose their company.

And pay they did. To the tune of Rs 1.1 lakh crore. In many instances, the creditors withdraw the case after filing, very often because the company pays up.

Modi’s IBC code is not just a boon for the banks. One must also understand how it helps small businesses. Very often, a big company will owe money not just to banks, but to a number “operational creditors.” Frequently, these are smaller companies like suppliers and contractors etc who cannot keep running their day to day operations without their dues being cleared by big corporations. While these small suppliers and contractors face bullying from big defaulters just as much as banks, the problems of these small businesses are rarely reported in the media.

Indeed, this is why the maximum number of cases under this new law has been brought by operational creditors and not banks. Remember that these small businesses are where the real job growth comes from. The easier life is for budding entrepreneurs, the more entrepreneurship we will have. And today’s small businesses might grow tomorrow into big businesses that employ thousands of people.

Finally, the IBC code also short-circuits a number of scams that big companies have come up with over the years to beat the system. Let me explain with an example. Suppose that a big company wants to purchase a piece of expensive factory equipment that costs, say Rs 100 crore.

Let me show you a simple “scam” by which you can own the Rs 100 crore equipment for just Rs 10 crore.

Step 1: Get a “naamdar” to call a big bank and lend you Rs 100 crore to buy the equipment.

Step 2: Forget the loan, let it go bad.

Step 3: Let the equipment be seized by the banks, who will now try to recover their money by selling it.

Step 4: But an expensive piece of factory equipment is not a toy that just anyone would want it. Often, at the auction, there is just *one* bidder, the same company whose equipment was seized. The same company now bids just Rs 10 crore.

Step 5: The desperate banks have no option but to sell the seized equipment back to the same company for the rock bottom price of Rs 10 crore.

Step 6: Scam complete. The Rs 100 crore loan has disappeared. The company now fully owns the Rs 100 crore equipment by paying just Rs 10 crore.

Where did the other 90 crores come from? If the bank was a public sector bank (most common scenario), those 90 crores came from *your* pocket.

Outraged?

You should be.

So, here is what Modi’s IBC Code did about it. Look what happened here:

The wilful defaulters, their parent company and even related persons are barred from buying back the assets at rock bottom prices. Sorry, Essar.

This is the story of how the Modi government went out on a limb and took on the most powerful and most entrenched elements in the system to save public money. Our money. A story that is rarely told.

In recent weeks, we have seen one naamdar and his numerous minions in the ecosystem making all sorts of allegations against the man who calls himself the “chowkidaar” of India’s money. Perhaps you will now have a better sense of why these nonsensical allegations are being made and who might gain from getting the chowkidaar out of office. Here is something that I recently came across on Facebook.

Please try to remember that.
