The Piprai Police SIT has arrested main accused Jassi Kinnar for his role in a kidnapping and forced religious conversion racket targeting minor girls.
Notably, the ambush attack happened amid ongoing conflict in the Litan area between the Kuki and Tangkhul Naga communities, which started on 7th February.
Sources said the latest case came to light after a resident reported two suspicious women living near Raiya Chowkdi through a dedicated police helpline.
"...Certain persons go about not professing or propagating their religion, but thrusting it upon others in the belief which somehow makes it to their mind the religion they believe in must be followed by others," the High Court stated.
Police also informed that the gang depended on a network of local contacts and relatives in India to identify targets with large amounts of cash and gold.
