K Annamalai whips himself in protest to demand justice in Anna University sexual assault case

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai has taken up a unique way to protest to demand justice and swift police action in the Anna University sexual assault case.

On December 23, there was a report of an incident of sexual assault in Anna University in Tamil Nadu. Two individuals, reportedly outsiders, had assaulted a woman and her boyfriend. They had forced the woman to undress and filmed her without her consent. The victim subsequently reported the incident to the Kotturpuram police.

As per reports, the perpetrator, Gnanasekaran, is a repeat offender and affiliated with the DMK. There are allegedly photographs circulating showing him alongside prominent DMK figures, including Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and Minister M. Subramanian.

on December 26, K Annamalai had announced that as a form of protest demanding justice from the DMK government, he would observe a fast for 48 days, whip himself 6 times and not wear shoes till the DMK government is toppled in Tamil Nadu.
