Taliban said the attacks were conducted "beyond the "hypothetical line" - an expression used by Afghan authorities to refer to a border with Pakistan which has been in dispute since long.

Reacting to Pakistani airstrikes in Aghanistan, Taliban's spokesperson said, "The Islamic Emirate will not let this act of cowardice go unanswered, Rather, it considers defending its territory and soil an inalienable right."
