Motivational speaker Vivek Bindra has been booked in a domestic violence case for allegedly assaulting his wife just a day after the marriage.

A case was registered against the accused Javed Khan under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 34, 294, 323 and 506.

The incident has left the Jewish community, residing in the Westlake Village neighbourhood, in a state of shock.

A female ABVP worker was assaulted and locked up in a room in Kannur Polytechnic college for wearing a rakhi.

The accused have been booked under sections 307, 324, 323, 452, 504, 506, 141, 143, 147, 149 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Several sections of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 including 37 (1), 37 (3), and 135 have also been imposed against the accused.

The reason behind the attack is not yet known. The police have nabbed the accused and also booked him under the relevant sections of the law. The girl meanwhile has obtained severe injuries on her body. She is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Islamists attempted to impart a communal spin to the case by specifying the religion of the victim.
