Mohammed Azharuddin's career in cricket has been marred by grave accusations of match fixing.

The case is part of a larger investigation into allegations that five senior police and intelligence officers, along with a TV channel operator, carried out illegal surveillance on at least 600 people, all for the benefit of the then ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

During the run-up to the 2023 Assembly elections, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has found that the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Telangana’s Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) has allegedly tapped the phones of at least 600 individuals. Many of them belong to political leaders from the opposition.

The protesting students demanded a written assurance that the land would be formally registered under the university.
