Former CM Champai Soren has raised concerns over Jharkhand’s changing demographics due to religious conversions and infiltration. He is questioning whether converted tribals should retain reservation benefits and is demanding an inquiry into land transfers for religious structures.

The study titled “Change in Religious Composition across Districts in India from 2001 to 2011” stated that at the national level, the Hindu population came down slightly, from 80.46% in 2001 to 79.8% in 2011. But the Muslim population rose from 13.43% to 14.23%. Even Christians saw a marginal rise in their share.

Notably, the official data indicates that the share of Hindus in Kerala’s total population has dropped from 54.73% in 2011 to 52.61% in 2021. The share of Christians has gone down from 18.38% to 17.87%. Meanwhile, the share of Muslims in the state’s population has skyrocketed from 26.56% to 29.14%.

As per recent calculations, around 695 years from now, the country will be left with no people, just a minor aged below 14. The projection, updated annually since April 2012 is part of Professor Yoshida's effort to draw attention to Japan's population crisis.

The BJP is loudly raising the issue of illegal immigration in Jharkhand, due to which uncontrolled settlements built illegally are changing the demography of the area.

"Arfan, Irfan, Ansari, and Alamgir-Alam will loot the land of Nilamber-Pitamber, Sidhu-Kanhu, and Bhagwan Birsa Munda if we lose this election," Himanta Biswa Sarma cautioned.

Ironically, the Samajwadi party leader made the provocative remarks during an event named ‘Samvidhan Maan Diwas.'

Amid reports of demographic changes in various areas of Uttarakhand, the government of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has started taking action. The police have started a 'verification campaign' to verify the people living in the state.
