The mosque committee in Gorakhpur voluntarily demolished the illegally constructed Abu Huraila Mosque after receiving a 15-day notice from the Gorakhpur Development Authority.

After the complaint, an investigation was started on 18 December 2024. The mosque committee did not respond to the three notices during the investigation.

The PWD department issued a notice to the Masjid Committee and gave them one month to remove the illicit part of the mosque.
