The statement of reasons of the bill tabled by CM Yogi Adityanath noted that the existing provisions under the Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021 are not sufficient and they should be made as stringent as possible.
The duo alleged that Sapna alias Rakshanda Khan used to encourage Hindu girls to befriend Muslim boys and do Nikah with them after converting to Islam.
