The refugees said that they have come to India nearly a decade back with a valid visa issued by the Indian government. The refugees added that they had to leave their relatives in Pakistan and come to India because religious persecution in the Islamic nation had made their lives difficult.
Many residents of Majnu Ka Tila in the national capital said that the bill if cleared, will help them get Indian citizenship and finally bring an end to their life in exile.
According to Gulsher, after agreeing to admit the children, Delhi government school officials said that they cannot admit them because they were 'too old'.
