A rescued employee said the closed speedboat flipped within three minutes after a strong storm struck. Lava Mobiles and the Indian Embassy are assisting families and coordinating with Vietnamese authorities over repatriation arrangements for victims.
Indian Embassy announced that special control rooms had been established in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to assist relatives seeking information about passengers onboard the vessel.
“It is a matter of relief that there has been no Indian fatality in the unfortunate incident at Al Kharj yesterday evening,” the Indian Embassy in Riyadh said in a post on X.
The embassy further advised Indian nationals and PIOs (Persons of Indian Origin) in Iran to exercise caution and avoid areas where protests are being held.
In a statement, Tech Mahindra said, "We remain in close contact with the family, providing necessary support to them. We are also actively coordinating with authorities in both countries and adhering to due process. Ensuring the well-being of our colleague is our top priority."
