On Friday (26th April), a case of a religiously motivated hate crime against a Hindu woman was reported from Nayanagar Police station in the Mira Road area
The accused runs a chicken shop close to the Orange Hospital on Mira Road and was known to the victim. He used to offer her chocolates despite objections by her father.
The accused used the photograph of the Hindu saint 'Guru Swami Samarth' and replaced his face with that of PM Modi. He insulted Lord Swami Samarth and also called PM Modi an annihilator.
T Raja, accompanied by local legislator Geeta Jain, spoke from a makeshift stage. Raja, who professed the value of 'Akhand Hindu Rashtra', spoke on Aurangzeb, asserting that the Mughal emperor destroyed several temples.
The guilt-tripping did not end with painting Muslims as victims and Hindus as aggressors. 'Journalist' Manisha Pande went a step ahead and put the onus of 'inclusive behaviour' exclusively on the Hindu community.
The BMC stated that only the illegal structures on the Mohammed Ali Road were demolished. Notices were not served as the vendors have no permanent address.
