The Supreme Court on Thursday cancelled bail granted by the Calcutta HC granting bail to five accused in a rioting and attempt to rape case during the post-poll violence in West Bengal.
While slamming the politics of convenience of the Congress party, Arnab Goswami said, "The same thing that happened in Manipur has happened in Bengal. But they are completely quiet (now)."
In the release, the West Bengal Governor shared that he visited the victims of violence who were prevented from meeting him on Thursday in spite of written permission.
In the interim order, the Calcutta High Court said, “The election ensures the majority opinion of the citizen of the country and its faith and allegiance to a political party to administer and maintain the various facets of the people for their betterment and development, which goes without saying that there is no space for any violence in a democratic polity.”
Alleging that the state police controlled the central forces throughout the polling process, Suvendu Adhikari asserted that false voting had ruined BJP's chances in several constituencies in West Bengal.
If the state fails to control this violence, we have to make a decision that in the next five years, the Central forces will stay in this state,” the court noted.
