She further on the disparity in the arrangements made for the rich and the poor saying, "For the rich, the VIP, there are systems available to get camps (tents) for as high as Rs 1 Lakhs. For the poor, there are no arrangements at Kumbh..."
I am used to it, used to the overcrowded trains, the struggle, the dysfunction and the chaos. Because this is what the system has taught me. I wasn't taught 'civic sense' by the system. The Delhi Police on Sunday stated that confusion over the identical names of two trains--Prayagraj Express and Prayagraj Special-- led to confusion and triggered the stampede
A two-member committee has been formed to investigate the stampede at the New Delhi Railway Station on Februray 15, in which 18 people died and several sustained injuries.
The delay in the schedule of two trains, the announcement of a special train to Prayagraj and the unexpected surge in the sales tickets led to the stampede on New Delhi Railway Station.
"All the members of the Adani family present at the Maha Kumbh and the entire Adani Group, in collaboration with the fair administration and the state government, are committed to provide all possible assistance to the affected families," he added.
Mahakumbh DIG Vaibhav Krishna said that Amrit Snan is about to begin and police and administration will assist all the akharas in completing their traditional processions.
After a brief halt due to large crowds, saints began their procession as they headed to Triveni Sangam for the second Amrit Snan of MahaKumbh 2025 on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya on Wednesday.
As per reports, while a large number of people were moving towards Sangam ghat, at around 1.30 am in the night, a sudden stampede like situation emerged and people started running over fallen persons.
