The joint statement said the parties created a High-Level Committee, approved a 60-day roadmap, opened a direct communication line for the Strait of Hormuz and agreed on a Lebanon de-confliction cell facilitated by the mediators.

The Israeli military said that the strikes followed repeated ceasefire violations by the Iran-backed terrorist group.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei described the reports about the agreement as  "speculative".

Notably, U.S. President Donald Trump had called on mediators in the U.S.-Iran war to join the Abraham Accords.

Trump said that the deal will include reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and is "subject to finalisation".

Confusion deepened after Pakistan claimed a wider ceasefire, but US denied enrichment acceptance and Lebanon inclusion. With Israel continuing Hezbollah strikes and competing draft versions surfacing, Iranian users ridiculed Islamabad’s brief peacemaker moment online.

The White House hoped that if the ceasefire proposal came from a Muslim-majority country like Pakistan, Iran was more likely to accept this.
