Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India in December amid rising U.S. pressure. As Trump doubles tariffs on Indian goods over Russian oil imports, New Delhi has defended its energy security, strengthening ties with Moscow despite Western criticism and sanctions threats.

Putin offered to freeze fighting in southern regions if Ukraine ceded Donetsk. Zelensky refused while Trump pushed for a peace agreement, leaving European capitals anxious over Moscow’s growing leverage in the war’s next phase.

Interestingly, while the Russia-US summit was supposed to yield a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, the latter was not included in the meeting despite being a direct party to the conflict.

While speaking at the programme "Year in Review with Vladimir Putin," he said that Russia is fourth largest economy globally, following China, the United States, and India.
