Solution to rising fuel prices likely in a few days : Amit Shah

BJP President Amit Shah has stated that a solution for the rising fuel prices in the country is to be expected soon. According to reports, Shah has stated that the government is working on a formula to bring down the prices of diesel and petrol to reduce the burden on people.

Amit Shah has reportedly stated that the government is looking into the matter seriously and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is scheduled to meet officials of oil companies today to discuss the issue. He reportedly added that the government is working out a formula and the plan is to be finalised in coming three to four days.

According to reports, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has also stated that various alternatives are being looked into and something will be worked out soon.

Petrol and diesel prices were raised again recently and the government is facing criticism for it. As per the dynamic pricing, Petrol had touched Rs 84.70 in Mumbai and Rs 76.87 in Delhi on Tuesday. International crude prices have risen recently too and it is one of the reasons for the high fuel prices in the country. Diesel is selling at Rs 68.08 a litre in the national capital. In the meanwhile, ANI has quoted the IOCL Chairman as saying yesterday that they are yet to receive any directive from the government regarding controlling the fuel prices. He had also added that all the petroleum products should be brought under GST.
